Diamond State 50 This Coming Wednesday, September 15, 2004 At Delaware International Speedway

$3,000 Plus For Each Feature, 50 Lap Late Model and 50 Lap Modified Features

Delmar, DE.....This coming Wednesday, September 15, 2004 the Delaware International Speedway will host the annual Diamond State "50".  The show will host the Big Block Modified and the Super Late Models to each compete in a 50 lap feature with a purse of $3000 to each feature winner.  Then there is the gamble's chance if you are willing to gamble to increase your odds to win a larger purse.  Enter $50 and gamble on a chance to win $4000, or pay $100 to gamble and win receive $5000 if you win.  Fill out the entry form or call the track to register at 302.875.1911.

Each year this event packs in a great crowd and a lot of hot drivers making their way to the DIS track.  Last year a real big crowd was in line when a large black cloud hovered the track and caused a big down pour forcing cancellation.  Lets' hope there is a great night of action ahead this year.  The rain date has been set for the following night Thursday, Sept. 18.  There have been a lot of mid-week shows this year at surrounding tracks, but each show DIS has had this year has been some grand fast racing.  The World Of Outlaws Late Models loved the track and hopefully will return next year.  The DIRT/ SE Dirt Show was another big hit along with the Camp Barnes Benefit race.  So come out and get one last big show before the DE Championship races in November.

Sept 25, will be a regular show but it will add a plus hosting the Eastern Shore Sprint Championship.  The URC Sprints will be in town with hefty $3000 purse to the winner.  Time trials, two Last Chance DASH events and the 30 lap feature will be the format along with a regular night of action.  Tenth in the feature will pay $500 with a hefty $250 offered just to take the green in the thirty lap event.  Drivers are required to pre-enter for the posted payoff and bonus money.  No entry fee is required.  To pre-enter, call 973.839.0603.   URC rules apply including the URC club rear tires.  Mufflers are mandatory.

The action in Delaware has been hot as ever this year with a real close battle in points in almost all the divisions.  The last points race will be Sept. 25, 2004.  So the next two weeks will be crucial to the top ten in points.  Some teams are separated by mere points and anything counts.  All the drivers need to be on the track and have lady luck on their side so they don't have a DNF.  These drivers have been hard at it all year and really heating up in action.  So there is a lot of good action left in DE, so come on down and see the fastest half mile running in Delaware.
