Nice treat last week with Bobby Watkins in the Jake Marine's # 85, but this week Bobby returned in the 85 but Hal Browning was in the 85H so two great veteran drivers out on the track.
Short was flawless in the feature to win no. 3 for the year. Glen Reed was strong and finished in top 5 again as Gary Simpson ran well too to take 2nd. Beau Wilkins had a flat on lap 1 after the field got a shaky start but managed to pull off a 9th place after returning to the track after having to pit and the green waved as he had only reached turn 2.
Lot of nice side by side and nose to tail racing going on. Sam Wescott, Jr. made an appearance tonight. Bit scary event on lap 7 when Scott Smith caught on fire just out of turn 2. Half way had Short, Simpson, Rick Bishop, Bunting, Reed. Lap 22 had Ricky Johnson rolling to a stop, not sure what happened.
The Street Modified feature and Slide for Five were not ran as a torrential rain dropped just as the AC Delco TSS Modified finished racing. There will be Twin Street's features next Saturday night one at the beginning and one in the regular racing slot along with the URC Sprints and regular show. At the end the Slide for Five feature will run, there were 28 cars on hand last night that were there so maybe even more will join the show. DIS has just replaced the Team Slide with the Slide for Five that ran last year but could not run them this year until an insurance deal was set. Also this will be the last race & points race.
The next show will be the year end show held November 5 & 6, 2005 with a rain date of November 12-13, 2005.
Also a special thanks to the promoter Charlie Cathell for allowing Danielle Jarvis and us to throw a fund raising event for the Katrina Hurricane Relief Fund with Red Cross. Also thank to all the drivers for collecting money in there helmets and signing autographs during intermission. Thank you to all buying coloring books from me (I still have plenty) so I could donate part of that monies raised to the funds. Over $800 dollars was raised last night, thank you to all.

G. G. Mesick brought the # 0 from Tarbutton Motorsports and ran really good last week and this week with a solid 3rd place finish. Richard Jarvis, Jr. brought his new car which is black, with a gasoline engine and a lot more horses. Jarvis was a half lap ahead of the others once he was out front. David Pettyjohn returned after missing last week with a blown engine. Kerry King was forced to use his back up car. Really good racing with drivers switching positions.
Messick was on the pole at the drop of the green. Half way Richard Jarvis, Jr., Messick, Rick Whaley, Mark Pettyjohn, and David Hill.
