The track was dry again this week, speeds were down with each class, but there was some side by side racing still. During heats Ricky Johnson was on the inside groove in turn 2 and Mullins Came down not seeing him and they make contact. Johnson begins to barrel flip down the backstretch, then start end over end in a high violent flip. Johnson was sore but okay. Steve Downs had his engine let go before the night even began or while working the track in.
Glen Reed started on the pole and never let go with his best finish for 2005 of 2nd. Lap 6 Reed still leads as a battle breaks out for 5th between Millman, Wilkins, and Bishop. Halfway, Reed, Short, Simpson, Byram, and Bishop. On lap 13 lap traffic lied ahead of Reed. Reed got caught in traffic while Short found a hole and got by Reed to take the lead.
