Delaware State Dirt Track Championship Winners Were....

Delmar, DE…..The Delaware Motorsports Complex home of the Delaware International Speedway and U S 13 Dragway has closed for all the racing until next spring.  But it is the first year the complex is home to the Decorating Delmarva “Holiday Festival of Lights”.  The entire complex has been converted to a holiday wonderland and a big success so far.

 

Nightly activities will run Thurs-Sunday from 6-10 PM week days, 6-11 PM weekends.  Roast marshmallows, listen to music or sing carols, visit the souvenir shop, or get your family portrait taken...  Tickets will be $15 car load (up to 8), larger vehicle (9-15) $45, mini buses & tour buses prices available and welcomed.  There will be so much more; you really need to check out the web for more information or questions. The Delaware State Dirt Track Championship Show winners for the 2012 season were named back on Oct. 19 & 20.  The two day show was a success once again and ends the racing for 2012. 

 

The Friday night show held 3 different division winners.  The 50 lap small block race was won by Richie Pratt, Jr. # 77X.  It was his first small bock win at Delmar.   The Little Lincoln Vintage Stock Car Club winner was Jamie Wagner # 3 and he also collected his first Little Lincoln Vintage Stock Car Club Championship in the club.  Ashley Merritt # 61 won the Delmarva Chargers feature and Matt Long claimed the Super Truck win.

On Saturday night the remaining fields were run.  The big block modified was won by Rich Laubach # 7and it was his first Delaware State Dirt Track Championship win.  Ricky Elliott # 88 won late model, Joe Warren # 11 crate model, Jordan Watson # 1J AC Delco mod, Jimmy Wills # 22W mod lite.  Colby Steele won the vintage, sportsman winner Dori Davidson # 24 and Matt Carmean # 81 won the slide for five.

The Delaware Motorsports Complex is located just one mile north of the MD / DE state line on Rt. 13( DuPont Hwy), 50 minutes South of Dover, DE and 30 minutes west from the beaches on Sussex Hwy.
