From The Centre of Salisbury:
We have all seen the unbelievable images of the destruction and devastation left behind by Hurricane Katrina. By weeks end, Katrina will have affected nearly half of the entire United States. In conjunction with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the American Red Cross is launching the largest mobilization of resources for a single natural disaster. Monetary donations are desperately needed.
The Centre at Salisbury, corporate sponsor of the Lower Shore Chapter of the American Red Cross, will be a drop off point for these donations which will enable the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to those in need from this disaster. 100% of the proceeds collected will be donated and designated for Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief.
How can you help?? It's simple:
*Collect money from employees or create a fundraising drive within your business. Then drop off the money collected at The Centre at Salisbury...or simply call us and we'll pick it up!
*If you are in The Centre at Salisbury, there are collection jars at Guest Services and in the Management Office. Throughout the upcoming Labor Day weekend, volunteers from The Centre at Salisbury Team will be in the JCPenney Court collecting donations.
*Pass by the sand sculpture in the JCPenney Court, dig into your pockets and toss your spare change at the sculpture! Great fun for kids and these coins will be donated.
Other ways to make monetary donations include calling 1-800-HELP NOW, log on to the Red Cross website at www.redcross.org or log on to www.CentreAtSalisbury.com which will provide information and a link to the local Lower Shore Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Additionally, Royal Plus in Berlin will be collecting items which will be taken next week into areas affected by Katrina. Your donation of essential items and necessities (non-perishable food items, diapers, baby formula, first aid items, etc) will be accepted from 10am-3pm this Saturday, September 3rd at the Royal Plus store located on Rt. 50 and Mack Road. Or drop off items this weekend at Guest Services in The Centre at Salisbury and we'll make sure they make it to the truck! Please note that used clothing will not be accepted.
If you would like to help in other ways, see the enclosed attachment of organizations assisting in relief efforts or contact me directly to discuss further. And please feel free to forward this e-mail to your co-workers, friends and family. Personally, I can't imagine what the people of the stricken areas are going through, but I know that I need to help in some small way by trying to bring our communities together to help in the relief efforts. Thank you in advance for your much needed support in this worthwhile cause. Together we can make a difference.
Sincerely,
Alane
