ACCORD SPEEDWAY NEWS
Accord, NY - Accord Speedway Rolls Through Great Midweek Madness Racing Action
By: Steve Pados, Accord Speedway Media
A beautiful warm and sunny summer day in the Catskill Mountains greeted the
Accord Speedway last evening as speedway promoters Gary and Donna Palmer had the
quarter mile speedplant in pristine racing condition and the seventy plus racers
on hand as they hosted the fourth edition of the successful mid-week installment
of the season. The talented drivers tested every inch of the Ulster County real
estate with an exciting exhibition of racing skill, talent and tenacity and the
nice crowd on hand who came out to witness the racing program approved of the
great show the drivers put on. The quick hittin program had the fans returning
home by 10:10 in the evening. The event sets the stage for the upcoming Friday
night action as the speedway welcomes headline sponsor Fred Reichle Deisel with
six solid divisions of racing as the thrill a second Lightning Sprint series
returns to action to join the regular five divisions at the speedway.
The racing action was once again swift and entertaining as Kenny Phillips
returned to victory lane in the 0-50 Quad feature to kick off the feature
action. The 51-90 Quad feature was again reminiscent of last week's battle royal
as two of the top racers from a season ago continued their battle with last
night's show. The "Young Gasser" Griffin Robertson and "The Little Torch"
Melissa Torchio provided the same fireworks as always as the pair raced close
throughout the event until Robertson encountered motors woes late in the race
and fell off the pace as Torchio went on to score her fourth win of the season.
Chad Cooper and Gary Huston were victorious in the Kart divisions. The bigger
and more powerful Quads took to the speedway, a great selection of them were on
hand for the racing action and Brandon Gates won the first event over Richard
Jarvis and Robert Greznecki and in the nightcap it was Gates leading throughout
the event with Jarvis close behind. As the pair came upon slower traffic Jarvis
pulled up even with Gates as Gates became trapped behind the slower traffic
allowing Jarvis to grab the lead and go on to a narrow victory over Gates and
Greznecki.
West Hartford, Connecticut's Grady Johnston captured the 270 main in his first
appearance at the speedway for the former quarter midget star and "The Goshen
Gladiator" Joe Kata captured the 600 Micro racing action. Keystone stater Jim
Black continued his success at the speedway as he raced to his fourth
consecutive win at the speedway with "The Communicator" Matthew Gaughan a close
second and Vermont driver Dustin Black making the long haul for a third place
finish in the event.
Slingshot racing action was once again the highlight of the evening as Northern
New York hot shoe Cody Clark made the haul down from Little Falls, New York and
captured the feature event win and find his way into Lucas Oil Products Winners
Circle. Reigning National Junior Slingshot Champion "The Wallkill Wizard" Tyler
Dippel led the charge into the first turn and appeared to have the field covered
in the early stages of the event. Two-time Accord Speedway Jr Slingshot driving
champion "The Gunslinger" Jesse Leiby began to make his bid with Clark in tow
and Clark found a little extra off of the bottom of the raceway to make his way
past Leiby for second place. Clark closed in on Dippel and climbed the staircase
in turn four to pull even with Dippel coming out of turn four and crossed the
start-finish line with the lead. Clark would go to score the win in his Jim Loux
Trucking/BASF Chemical sponsored hot rod with Leiby in for a solid runner-up
performance and Dippel in third place as the talented field of drivers took to
the incredibly smooth and multi-channeled raceway with ease to put on a great
show for the fans. Hard driving Tyler Pirone was fourth and "The Rockaway
Rocket" Danny Buccafusca borrowed a ride from the Dubois racing stables to
complete the top five finishers.
Rookie Slingshot action found Carly Dippel returning to her winning was as she
drove Tycar Trenchless Technologies racer to a convincing win over second
generation hot foot Matthew Shultz in his Liberty Rock Crushers mount and Carly
Velez in one of the Advanced Concrete machines. "The Bullville Bandit" Tommy
Zwart continued his winning ways as he had to come from behind to track down
early leader Michelle Campbell who had recently secured Kingston Nissan for a
sponsor for her racing efforts. Campbell was fast at the start and built up a
nice lead as the drivers all jockeyed for position. "The Tornado" Tyler Johnston
broke free and took up the chase and Zwart was soon to follow. Zwart slipped by
Johnston on the bottom side of turn three a lap later and quickly moved in on
Campbell. Zwart exercised his staircase options as he took to the top of the
raceway to pull even with Campbell and used a full head of steam to drive into
the lead. Zwart led the remaining laps to corral the win, his third of the
season at Accord with Johnston in the runner-up role and Campbell doing a great
job to finish third. The late in arriving "The Midget" Chris Kurtz started
scratch in the field and raced through the field with a variety of moves to
score a fourth place finish and Brandon "Juan Pablo" McGill drove hard all
evening long to score a top five finish in some very competitive Slingshot
racing action.
Four Cylinder excitement found Alan Houghtaling winning the Dual Overhead Cam
event and "Little" Davis taking over the controls of the former "Chi Chi"
Enscarone ride to grab the win in the Single Overhead Cam portion. Robert Beach
captured his third straight Accord victory in a close finish over hard driving
Walt Henry but the event was not settled until the checkered flag fell. Beach
was cruising along after winning the tug of war over Mike Travis to seize the
point. Walt Henry began to make his bid as he slipped by Travis to assume the
runner-up role and then began to try to find the quicker line to slip by Beach.
Henry was all over Beach as he attacked him from all angles and each time Beach
held his ground. On the final lap it was Henry going topside in turn three and
then changing lanes off of turn four to pull even with Beach but Beach held on
for the narrowest of margins of a win in a longtime at the speedway. Henry was a
close second with Mike Travis in third, newcomer Colby Schwarz in fourth and yet
another newcomer Tucker Warman completing the top five.
Midweek Madness will continue from July 13th until August 31st every Wednesday
evening. Gates open at the speedway at 5 PM with Hot Laps scheduled for 6:45.
Racing is to start at 7:15 PM. Admission for the Wednesday shows is just $5.00
and the great concession stand is open throughout the racing card.
Friday night racing at Accord runs from April through September with six great
divisions going to war on the Accord high banks. This week Fred Reichle Deisel
will serve as the headline sponsors for the evening events and will feature the
five regular divisions at the speedway plus the return of the Lightning Sprints.
Admission for the great racing action remains the same from a season ago as
Adults (12+) will be $12.00; Children (11 and under) will be $3.00. The Family
Value Pack that was met with much success last season is once again offered and
is: 2 Adults, 2 Children, and $20.00 in food vouchers for $40.00, a savings of
$10.00 to the consumer. Pit Gates open at the speedway at 4:30 and Spectator
Gates open at 5. Hot laps kick off at 6:30 and the racing is slated to start at
7 PM.
Big offerings are in store for the racing fans in the upcoming weeks at the
speedway. July 15th will find the RaceSaver 305 CRSA Sprint Cars making a return
to the Ulster County high banks. Led by local driving aces, Middletown, New
York's Brittany Tresch, the brother-sister act of Billy and Emily Van Inwegen
from Port Jervis, New York; Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania hot shoe Tommy Martocci,
and Matamoras, Pennsylvania talent John Matrafailo, the series now is headed up
by former driver Mike Van Dusen. Chad King is the current leader in points in
the series over former Modifed racing talent Jamie Christian. The 2010 Modified
Rookie of the Year at the speedway "The Quack Attack" Geoff Quackenbush is
reportedly preparing his sprint car for the upcoming show.

unshakeable in his quest for his 1st career win.
The white flag was waving and for Munroe it was just 1 last time under "The
Bridge"with Billy V in close pursuit.Billy stayed even with the 14 through turn

$2,500 to win, NeSmith Late Model Series event. With 31 entries on hand, William

for the leader, Richie Stephens, as his powerplant expired, ending his night
early. Thomas would inherit the lead and would go on to lead the final 27 laps

Lincoln Speedway is a very popular and "fan friendly" track in the tri-state
area, offering great unobstructed viewing from every seat in the grandstands.
The infield is open for watching the races by entering through the fourth turn
tunnel. The pits are asphalt, with a slight elevation and great lighting a so
fans can watch all the pit action as well. The three-eighth mile Lincoln
Speedway offers it all, the high speeds that you would see at the "big tracks"
with the flair and excitement of the short track "bull rings". At Lincoln
Speedway, you'll have it all.

WEAVER WINS MODIFIED TOUR RACE AT TRUMBULL COUNTY FAIR, DAVIS TAKES STOCKS
Brian the Dream Weaver scored his career first BRP/Hoosier Tire Modified Tour
victory during the series’ annual visit to the Trumbull County Fair. It was also
his first visit to the big track, Expo Speedway. Taking the Stock Car undercard
was Paul Davis.
Weaver, who hails from Windsor, New York (near Binghampton) decided to make the
Modified Tour a priority for 2011. Despite being among the fastest drivers at
most stops on the tour, he had yet to achieve much success. However, that all
changed at Expo. “We have had some bad luck early on, car trouble mostly, but
we’re glad we stuck with it,” he said. Indeed, for a while, it looked like this
race would fit the pattern, in that he had overheating problems in his heat
race. But he and car owner Ron Diffenbach rolled up their sleeves and got that
fixed before the feature.
Kevin Bolland and Jim Rasey led the field to the start of the 35 lapper. Bolland
got to turn one first, but he skidded across the track. Rex King, Sr., who
started fourth, came out of the mad scramble with the lead, much to the delight
of the crowd. Another local favorite, Rasey, was nipping at his heels. But
Weaver was also a major beneficiary of the confusion in turn one. He advanced
from eighth to third on the first lap of the event.
By lap 6, Weaver climbed into second and he began to chase down the leader, King
Sr. Weaver got a strong run down the long back stretch and moved to the outside
as he and King Sr. entered the third turn. They ran side-by-side through the
sweeping corners, and Weaver came off turn four with a slight advantage. He was
scored as the leader on lap 14.
Just after the field took the half-way signal, the action was slowed for a
three-car incident in turn one involving Jim Weller, Justin Rasey and Mark
Frankhouser. Young Rasey, who was making his first career start in a Big Block
Modified, got the worst of it, as he struck the jersey barrier. Track crews made
the needed repairs efficiently while the field continued to circle the speedway.
When the action resumed, Weaver pulled away from the pack. King Sr. continued to
run ahead of Rasey. Kevin Bolland took advantage of the cars being bunched up
and he began to mount a charge. He slipped ahead of Rasey on lap 19 and started
to work on King Sr. for second. That battle for position ended a few laps later
when the caution flew again for an incident coming off turn 4 involving Carl
Murdick and Jeff Schaffer.
While the field was under caution, Bolland was put back a position for jumping
on the previous restart. That put him smack in the middle of a four car battle
for position with Dave Murdick, Mark Flick and Jeremiah Shingledecker that would
last the final ten laps of the race. While they mixed things up, Weaver, King
Sr. and Rasey pulled away.
At the checkers, it was Weaver taking the big win, with King Sr., Rasey and
Murdick trailing. Flick nipped Bolland at the line for fifth.
Shingledecker, Brad Rapp, Rex King, Jr. and Brian Swartzlander completed the top
ten.
The Landrum Spring Racer of the Race award was conferred on the winner, Weaver,
for his charge around King, Sr. for the lead. Plus, as the race winner, he
received an award from R2C Performance.
The Rod End Supply heat race winners were Jim Rasey, Flick and Swartzlander.
There was no B Main.
No provisionals were used to fill the field.
Paul Davis had a strong night in the Stock Cars, sweeping his heat and the
feature. He jumped out to the lead at that start of the feature and opened up a
comfortable margin over Bruce Redman, who won the other heat race. The action
was slowed twice, on laps 10 and 12, but that did not deter Davis. However, the
second stoppage did allow for Randy Wyant to overtake Redman on the restart.
Wyant held the position to the finish.
Behind Davis, Wyant and Redman were Mike Clark and Dan Lewis. Rusty Wheeler,
Jamie Duncan, Terry Wheeler, Dave Ferringer and Gary Miller rounded out the top
ten.

BOLLAND AND SHINGLEDECKER SPLIT TRI-CITY LOOT
Kevin Bolland and Jeremiah Shingledecker each scored $2,000 wins at Tri-City
Speedway in BRP/Hoosier Tire Modified Tour action. Bolland’s triumph came in the
completion of the annual Kodiak Memorial, which was halted after just 16 laps
were run on May 29. Shingledcker’s victory came in the nightcap of the regularly
scheduled holiday race.
Bolland, who was running second to Rex King, Sr. when the rains came, said that
it was his goal to come out and win the Kodiak. He came to the track with a
different set-up on his car than that which he used on Memorial Day weekend.
“Every night is a new night, and we put a different package in the car and then
we just adjusted from there.”
King Sr. had the point for the Delaware double file restart, but Bolland
immediately began to apply pressure at the drop of the green. Bolland made a
power move coming off turn two on lap 18 to take the lead and he never looked
back.
King Sr. thought that he would get a shot at Bolland on lap 25, when the action
was halted for the faltering car of Tommy Mattocks. During that stoppage,
Jeremiah Shingledecker pitted for the first of his two flat tires. King Sr. did
not capitalize on the opportunity, though, as he briefly surrendered second spot
to Brian Swartzlander. King Sr. regained his momentum racing down the
backstretch and took the position away from his challenger as they entered the
third turn.
King Sr. would get another shot at the leader on lap 33, when the caution was
displayed for his son, Rex King, Jr., who backed into the water barrels that sat
atop turn one. The restart proved to be a bigger misfortune for King than the
first one, as he drifted high in turns one and two, losing several positions.
Bolland won the two-lap dash for the cash. Dave Murdick took advantage of King’s
miscue, and crossed in second. King Sr. came back for third. Swartzlander
finished fourth. Eric Gabany, driving a 358 Modified, finished a strong fifth.
Shannon Whaley, Mark Flick, Brian Weaver, Chris Haines and Jeff Schaffer
completed the top ten.
The Landrum Spring Racer of the Race award was conferred on Eric Gabany for his
outstanding run with a 358 Modified.
Due to his prior win at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway, Bolland was
ineligible for the R2C Performance award. It was conferred on runner-up Dave
Murdick.
In the night’s full feature, Jeremiah Shingledecker had things working to
perfection. He chased down early leader Brian Weaver and the two waged a
monumental battle before Shingledecker pulled away for the win. Their struggle
had the fans on the edges of their seats for several laps, as the drivers had to
navigate around several lapped cars while dicing for the lead.
In victory lane, Shingledecker said of the intense battle with Weaver in lapped
traffic: “I was just biding my time, they (the lapped cars) were racing for
position, too. I was just glad that I could get through without any incident.”
He added that the win was like a homecoming for him, as he lives just down the
road from the track and was a staunch supporter of Tri-City when it ran
Modifieds on a weekly basis. The partisan crowd obviously approved.
As noted, Weaver jumped out to a quick lead over pole sitter Les Myers. The Reno
Rocket fought Weaver for the first few lap before surrendering second to
Shingledecker. Weaver was looking for second Modified Tour win of the week.
However, Shingledecker was racing in second and the two put on quite a show in
the early going, just as they did two nights before in a non-sanctioned race at
Lernerville Speedway.
Shingledecker pulled even as they raced down the front stretch to complete lap 9
and he entered turn one with the lead. Weaver rallied back and took the lead
again coming off the second corner.
Weaver would hold his lead for a few more laps until Shingledecker dropped to
the low side coming trough turn four. Shingledecker emerged with the lead. He
then opened a slight margin over Weaver, but heavy lapped traffic gave the New
Yorker the chance to reel him in again. The racing was intense for several laps
as they tried to outmaneuver each other and the lapped cars! Shingledecker
squeezed through a small opening coming down the front stretch and Weaver got
hung up behind a lapped car as they entered turn one. That gave Shingledecker a
little breathing room.
A caution on lap 20 gave Shingledecker a clean track and Weaver another
opportunity to challenge for the lead. However, instead of fighting for the lead
when the race resumed, Weaver was now in a battle to keep second spot for Brian
Swartzlander entered the fray. Swartzlander could not hold the spot for long,
though. Indeed, Dave Murdick benefitted the most from the caution, as he would
soon slip past Swartzlander for third.
In the final ten laps of the race, Murdick was the fastest man on the speedway.
He tracked down and passed Weaver and set out after Shingledecker. However, time
ran out on Murdick.
Shingledecker got the popular win, followed by Murdick. Weaver held on for
third, ahead of Swartzlander and Brad Rapp.
Rex King, Sr., Kevin Bolland, Shannon Whaley, Rex King, Jr. and Mike Turner
finished sixth through tenth.
Jeremiah Shingledecker was awarded the Landrum Spring Racer of the Race award
for his amazing run through traffic to keep his lead. He also received the R2C
Performance award as a first-time winner for the season.
Rod End Supply heat race wins were scored by King Sr., Mark Flick and Bolland.
There was no B Main.
No provisionals were needed to complete the field.
The next event for the BRP/Hoosier Tire Modified Tour will be held at Mercer
Raceway Park on Saturday, August 13, 2011.

HAMLIN SPEEDWAY NEWS
Hamlin, PA - Youth Is Served As Hamlin Speedway Racing Features Six Teenagers
Sharing The Glory At Tremendous Holiday Show
by: Steve Pados, GA Motorsports Media
Fabulous weather and a serene setting in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania
provided the backdrop for a spectacular evening of tremendous racing excitement
as the Hamlin Speedway ushered in the Fourth of July Holiday weekend on Saturday
evening. The entrance to the speedway had a backlog of trailers as anxious 133
entries stuffing the pit area and included 43 of the top Slingshot drivers in
the United States today. Speedway Promoters Denise and Randy Smith greeted a
standing room only crowd with a dynamic racing card that will be talked about
for some time to come. When the racing action was completed, the well-noted
phrase "youth will be served" was very evident in the final rundown of the box
scores as six talented teenagers filled their pockets with Hamlin jingle and was
headed up by the "Rockaway Rocket" Danny Buccafusca as the eleven year old
driving star stole the show as drove away from the field in the latter half of
the "Hamlin Firecracker 100" headline event to claim the $1,500.00 prize that
awaited him in Victory Circle. Additional teenagers scoring wins included
fifteen year old Brian Gilmore in the 600 Micros, Thirteen year old CJ Heinig in
the 270 Micros, Bobby Flood in the Junior Slingshots, Hayden Miller in the
Rookie 270 Micros and Justin Brewster in the Rookie 600 Micros. Avoiding the
shut out was Super Slinger star Wes Hearn as the over-35 division saw Hearn at
the top of his game as he drove to a convincing wire to wire triumph in the
Super Slinger division. With a fresh base of clay planted during the off-week at
the speedway, the track was racy all evening long and the seven racing divisions
took to the revamped and racy 1/5 mile speedbowl with precision skills
throughout the evening and left the crowd wanting more.
After a series of time trials, dash for cash, and C and B Mains, the 31-car
starting field for Slingshots was established for the run at the gold. The
"Rockaway Rocket" Danny Buccafusca led the first few laps of the century grind
before "The Sheriff" Simon Egan assumed command of the event. Egan took no
prisoners as he opened up the lead on the field with Buccafusca, "Chargin"
Charlie Lawrence, "The Oxford Express' Dale Kober and Matt Massone trying to
chase the runaway Sheriff down. The action at mid-pack was a mob-scene as the
closely knit field of all-stars found their rhythm and diced together right down
to the final lap of the event. Lapped traffic came into play before the
mid-point of the race and Egan quickly became a surgeon as he knifed his way
through the lapped traffic in haste to gain a further advantage on the field but
in one situation grazed the Jersey barrier and the result upset the handling of
the race car from that point on.
A caution slowed the pace of the field on lap-64 and when the green flag came
back out it was Buccafusca going on the attack as he tried the bottom of the
speedway and then swung back to the top and got a great run off of the top of
the race track to seize the point. Dale Kober began to come alive and he put
relentless pressure on his teammate Egan and the pair duked it out for a couple
of laps before Kober became the runner-up. As Egan began to run out of
ammunition, Charlie Lawrence became a player and slipped by to run in third
place. The laps were clicking off and the youthful Buccafusca remained poised
and kept his car under him with Kober, Lawrence and Egan all within striking
distance. Lawrence, the 2010 Empire Region Slingshot Champion helped out the
Buccafusca cause as he began to challenge Kober for the runner-up spot and Kober
was forced to play defense to the new challenge coming at him. The pair remained
locked in battle and Buccafusca skirted away and all eyes focused on the close
dual for second. Lawrence used a top to bottom move to drive alongside of Kober
and the strategy worked as Lawrence drove out of turn two racing in second
position. Buccafusca drove a perfect race as he crossed under starter Russ
Furry's checkered flag to claim his first Hamlin win in the All Star Slingshot
division in his Bruce's Speed Shop sponsored mount. The win became the second
win in a row for the "Rockaway Rocket" as he also won at the Accord Speedway on
Wednesday night. Charlie Lawrence just drove a great race to finish in the
runner-up role and the defending track champion Dale Kober was solid with a
great drive in third. Aaron Henneforth used a late race charge to claim fourth
place money and Simon Egan completed the top five as he nursed his S&S racer to
the finish line. "The Bushkill Bullet" Kyle Rohner was sixth in a splendid drive
from 14th, The "Hot Rod" Kyle Rode was seventh after starting 23rd, "The
Carbondale Comet" Paul Ennes was eighth after starting in 26th, "Double J" Jimmy
Johnston was ninth and Cody Kline rounded out the top ten. Fourteen of the
thirty-one starters completed all 100 laps of the century grind.
In 270 Micro action, "Lightning" Larry Mekic grabbed the lead at the start of
the event with "The Tornado" Jordan Tittle in tow. Tittle developed problems in
the first eight laps and this allowed for CJ Heinig to slip by and set sail for
Mekic. The race developed into a chess match as Mekic was good from the topside
and Heinig was quicker from the bottom. Heinig went to the top and dove to the
bottom of turn two on lap-21 to gain control of the lead. Before Mekic could
mount a comeback, Nunzi Allegrucci and he got together on the front stretch to
bring a halt to the racing action. When the racing resumed it was the teenager
Heinig racing into the victory circle with "The Cadillac Man" Kurt Bettler in
the runner-up role and "The Aviator" Robbie Watson driving to a podium finish.
Rich O'Neill and Tommy Kunsman Jr completed the top five.
The "Wild Child" Brian Gilmore powered into the lead at the drop of the green
flag in the 600 Wingless Micro headliner and was pressured by Jordan Tittle. The
action went from intense to insane as the wingless driving stars put on a
dazzling display of backing it in on the fresh Hamlin clay. "The Minuteman" Alex
Curley, Rick Perone, Kyle Rohner and Brett Arndt all tried different lines to
track down Gilmore and Tittle. Gilmore wouldn't be denied on this night as drove
to a close victory over Tittle and the hard driving "Topton Tornado" Brett Arndt
who was third, Alex Curley in fourth and Rick Perone completing the top five.
The second five consisted of Mick D'Agostino, Austin Ely, Jonathan Hull, Kyle
Rohner and Bobby Butler.
Bobby Flood and Kyle Gruber brought the stars of tomorrow at Hamlin down for the
start of the seventeen car Junior Slingshot main attraction. "The Flash" was on
the money in his All-Season Fuel sponsored hot rod as he held off a steady flow
of competition seeking to dislodge the New Yorker from the top rung of the
ladder. Tyler Johnston, fresh off a win at another speedway challenged until he
lost his muffler and was forced to the sidelines and Thomas Strupp was close
until he got sideways off of turn four and found himself losing a few positions
in the process. Allison Kaminski, in only her second event, was the surprise of
the evening as she held her own in the tough competition and soon enough had the
former Dale Reed owned Slinger charging forward with a couple of nifty passes of
her own. Bobby Flood claimed his first ever Hamlin Speedway win and made a
statement with the win to establish himself as a contender for the remainder of
the season. Kaminski was the runner-up in a great drive and Chris Kurtz, Dylan
Martin and Kyle Gruber completed the top five. The second five consisted of
Taylor Eccles, Thomas Strupp, "Kid Ice" Cole Hentschel, Zack Weisenfluh and
Collin Dubois.
The Super Slingers racing action proved to be the Wes Hearn show as he led all
laps of the feature event to claim the win. Henry Anderson was the runner-up
with Jimmy Johnston in third, Paul Ennes in fourth and Dale Kober rounding out
the top five.
The rookie 270 Micro encounter was a two story saga with Connecticut invader
Grady Johnston finding the fast line at the drop of the green flag. Johnston was
challenged early by Makenzie Harper but Johnston was up to the challenge each
time. As the pair got into lapped traffic, Harper went for the lead and
connected with Johnston and both cars slid up the banking and bringing a halt to
the racing action. On the restart Hayden Miller inherited the lead and led the
remaining laps to claim the victory. Scott Avery was the runner-up with Johnston
racing back to third, Harper in fourth and Paul Rimsky rounding out the top
five.
"The Jet" Justin Brewster found the zone at the drop of the green flag to score
a wire to wire win in the rookie 600 Wingless 20 lapper. The action behind him
was outstanding as the rookie division improves with each outing at the
speedway. Tim Howell raced to second place with Austin Burke in third place, and
Steve Van Valkenburg and Larry Mekic completing the top five. Sixth through
tenth were Eddie Strada, Stephen Reynolds, newcomer Luke Greenwood, Jacob
Hendershot and Jamie Czekai.
POCO-NOTES:
Noted invaders for the event included "The Bushkill Bullet" Kyle Rohner as he
picked up the ride in one of the Bill Weaver hot rods and the 2010 Accord
Speedway Spec Sportsman Champion didn't skip a beat in his return to the
Slingshot wars as he drove to a well earned sixth place finish that found him
still coming forward at the end of the event. Steven Intravaia made the trip up
from North Carolina and secured a ride in one of the Clark Garage racers but
encountered problems late in the race. Former Slingshot star "The Flying
Dutchman" Richie Van Orden, who has since moved on to Legend racing and has
scored three wins to date at the Accord Speedway, picked up the ride in the
Finger Motorsports entry but he too encountered problems and did not finish the
event. Wingless 600 Micro driving star Joe Kata picked up the ride in the second
Hocker Motorsports entry but just missed in making it into the headline event.
Peekskill, New Yorker Tyler Pirone made the haul into Hamlin and got turned
around midway through the B-Main to diminish his chances at qualifying for the
feature. "The Ironman" Mike Butler was on hand as well but pulled off the
speedway while in a transfer position. Travis Gruber was another invader who
encountered problems while in a transfer position. Late Model driving star "The
Eynon Aggressor" Ben Whitaker ran among the leaders all evening but encountered
problems towards the end of the race and was credited with a 13th place finish.
Luke Greenwood and Amanda Quinones were newcomers for the 600 Wingless racing
and Greenwood, who does most of his racing in the New England states, pulled
double duty with a 270 Micro car as well. Mark Manieri shook down his newly
christened 600 Micro car and the Bear Chassis machine is a real fine piece of
craftsmanship with some great graphics and paint scheme but Manieri suffered
some opening night problems with the race car. New Junior Slingshots drivers on
hand included Erin Paulson, Leo McGurrin and Brody Adamsky as the Junior
Slingshot class continues to add new faces as the season progresses. Eddie
Strada has taken to the 600 Micro cars with ease and the family has placed the
Slingshot car up for sale as Eddie makes the transition into the open wheelers.
Contact the Strada Family should anyone be looking to become involved in racing.
Dan Beacon made his initial Hamlin start and turning the wrenches for him in the
pit area was noted former Lake Mocatek Speedway wheel-twister Joe Eisenhauer.
Greg Stevens made his initial start of the season in the former Jeff Schall
racer and scored an eleventh place finish in the rookie event. Scott Solt and
Brandon Kressler made their initial starts for the season in the rookie 270
class.
All of the heat racing action produced some great side by side battles as each
resembled a mini feature event. Winners included Bobby Flood and Kyle Gruber in
the Juniors, Justin Brewster and Jamie Czekai in the rookie 600 Micros, Joe Kata,
Bobby Butler and Ryan Wood in the regular 600 Micros, Makenzie Harper in the
rookie 270 Micros, Henry Anderson and Del Howell in the Super Slingers and Larry
Mekic in the 270 Micros. Kyle Rode captured the C-Main for the Slingshots and
John Pantis was triumphant in the jam-packed B-Main. Simon Egan captured the six
lap Dash For Cash.
Brett Michalski got upside down in front of the grandstands on the backstretch
of his heat event after connecting with another car and took a scary ride in his
quick racer. The hard-working Michalski Plumbing and Heating Crew went to task
and made the necessary repairs for Michalski to return to compete in the
feature.
The great evening of racing was brought to a conclusion with some added
fireworks for the packed crowd on hand. The well-noted concession stand was kept
busy throughout the evening as the many specials offered up were a hit among the
fans and drivers at the speedway.

ACCORD SPEEDWAY NEWS
Accord, NY- Brett "The Jet" Hearn Is Supersonic In Great Drive To Accord
Speedway Strongbox
By: Steve Pados, Accord Speedway Media
The day turned out to be just the type of day one is seeking to enjoy a great
day of relaxation as the warm summer sun and the soft gentle breezes that flow
through the Hudson Valley whisk you away in thoughts and dreams of all of the
good things in life. For the true race fan those thoughts will always include
witnessing a great race, enjoying great food and being part of something special
one will remember in their lifetime. That being said, the Accord Speedway hosted
it's Independence Day racing show last evening and the standing room only crowd
was treated to some amazing fireworks both on and off the race track as Brett
"The Jet" Hearn exhibited the skills of a military commander in attacking all of
the flanks of the Accord Speedway clay cushion and race from 15th starting place
to take over the lead before the halfway point of the thirty lap headliner for
the Modifieds to notch his third Accord Speedway win of the season and add the
795th feature event win to his illustrious career in motorsports. Inside the
Accord Speedway perimeter, the grand wizard of illumination, "Wild Bill"
presented his eleventh consecutive lightshow extravaganza and promised before
hand to top whatever he did in the past and did so as he filled the Ulster
County skies with booms, plumes and gunpowder fumes. The tremendous promotional
efforts of Accord Speedway Promoters Gary and Donna Palmer were vividly on
display as the hard-working and dedicated team, who are enjoying their eleventh
season at the helm of their "Gem in the Catskills" speedplant, presented one of
the finest shows ever in the history of the racetrack on Friday evening. The
loyal Accord race crowd that began to form in line at 4:00, quickly filled the
grandstands to capacity and the overflow portion of the crowd found a good spot
underneath the announcer's tower to witness the great racing action and the
spectacular fireworks and light show on an evening that was sponsored by Cordova
Plumbing and Heating and Barrett Plumbing and Heating both located in the state
of Connecticut. Klaff's Plumbing Supplies, located in Danbury, Connecticut,
provided gift bags to all of the division feature winners.
"Jammin" Jimmy Wells and "The Razor" Mike Ruggiero brought the 23-car starting
field of VP Fuels/Rhinebeck Ford Modified starting field down for the start of
the 30-lap headliner and it was the modified rookie Wells pushing the throttle
hard of his Janson Lawn Maintenance Big Block powered race car to lead the first
five laps of the feature attraction. Advanced Concrete sponsored Bobby Hentschel
pulled off a slide job on the restart that forced Wells to check up hard and the
train of high powered modified race cars quickly motored by Wells. Hentschel had
the hot hand as led lap after after lap but behind him a fleet of ground
pounding Modifieds broke through the ranks and were led by Brett Hearn, Jerry
Higbie, Andy Bachetti and Mike Ricci. Hearn was dead-on as he ate up the vast
chunks of real estate in front of him to begin to challenge Hentschel. A
fourteenth lap restart proved to be the seize the moment time for Hearn as he
gunned his Wentworth Construction speed-jet off of turn four and grabbed the
lead with Hentschel, Jerry Higbie and Andy Bachetti hot on his heels.
Hearn was flawless once he was in command as he drove off on to his third Accord
Speedway win of the season and with it continues to lead the point standings and
carried home with him a big share of the Accord strongbox worth $2,000.00 for
his winning performance. Andy Bachetti eventually slipped by Higbie late in the
event to finish in the runner-up role with Higbie in a great drive to third,
Bobby Hentschel in fourth and "Showtime" Danny Tyler racing from 23rd starting
position to complete the top five. Danny Creeden, Mike Ricci, Dom Roselli, Scott
Ferrier and Jeff Heotzler completed the top ten finishers
The Camper's Barn Sportsman event had two sides to the story as veteran wheel
twister Dave Werber grabbed the lead from his pole start and raced out a five
car length lead in his Cruise Holidays sponsored speedboat with "Mr Redi-Rock"
Joe Giachinta in tow. Werber was able to stretch his lead through lap six as
Giachinta was fighting off the advances of Will Dietz, Kenny Ferrier, Jesse
Marks and Kevin Ward. A restart on lap twelve bunched the field and on the
restart it was "Mr Excitement" Kevin Ward flexing his muscles as he quickly
drove from fifth place to second place in a couple of laps using a variety of
speed channels to advance. Coming off of turn four from the topside, Ward found
the range and slipped by Werber to assume command of the point. Once in front,
Ward schooled the field as he led the remaining laps to capture the win, his
fourth of the season at Accord. Will Dietz, who has improved tremendously since
the start of the season, enjoyed a great drive to finish in the runner-up role
with Dave Werber finishing third in what may have been in best run to date at
the speedway. Jesse Marks was fourth and Joe Giachinta completed the top five in
a great run. Vinny DeCicco, Shane Jablonka, Chris Stevens, Steve Meilleur and
Jeff Hulseapple completed the top ten finishers.
John Sundlof took the lead in the Scot Sanford owned race car at the start of
the Healey Brothers Group Spec Sportsman headliner. Sixth place starting Matt
Hitchcock was the man on a mission as he moved through traffic quickly and
seized the lead before the second lap was completed. Once in front Hitchcock was
never headed but the competition behind him was as stiff as a piece of Mahogany
as half a dozen talented drivers mixed it up for the fans to put on a great
entertaining show. Hitchcock was the victor, winning his second feature event of
the season. "The Bushkill Bullet" Kyle Rohner was second from his eighth
starting spot. John Sundlof was stout throughout the event and captured third
place with "The Twister" Tyler Boniface in fourth and "Hollywood" Whitey Slavin
completing the top five. Wayne Devantoy, Joe Judge, Mike DuBois, John Aumick and
Phil Johnson complete the top ten.
Clarence Smith lead the first seven laps of the DC Landscaping Pro Stock
encounter before yielding to the extreme pressure of the Ford powered racer of
John Roese. Roese grabbed the lead and drove out to a good sized advantage until
a caution flag slowed the field. On the restart it was Pat Zimmer tailing Roese
and in the remaining laps of the event threw everything he had at Roese in his
quest to get by but Roese raced under the checkered flag first with a one car
length victory, his third win of the season. Zimmer was the runner-up with Tom
Vasta rallying to third place, Al Christiana in fourth and Clarence Smith
completing the top five.
Joel Murns led the first lap of the Arkel Motors headliner for the Pure Stock
division and enjoyed the view so much he decided to stay there as he wired the
field to capture his first career victory at the Accord Speedway. "The Rooftop
Shuffler" enjoyed his first visit to the Lucas Oil Products Winners Circle as a
feature winner instead of as an announcer and the win meant so much to him in
securing the emotional but gratifying win. "The Rebel" Tim Brown was a close
second with John Woinoski in third, Chris Kanuk in fourth and "Smokin" Joe Narok
rushing back through the field after a late race spin to complete the top five.
MUD-PLUGS:
Wild Bill and the Telstar Promotions Group presented another masterpiece of a
light show to the great Accord racing fans. As the speedway went dark, it was
Showtime for the firecracker fanatics as very quickly the sky was filled with
all colors of the rainbow and then some that haven't been named as of yet. The
half hour rock your socks off program was capped off with 665 explosive charges
in the final twelve seconds of the spectacular light show extravaganza. Wild
Bill promised to bring back another spectacular show the next time he was in the
neighborhood and indicated he was working on some special effects just for the
great Accord racing fans. Special thanks to DJ Tim Adams for the great CD music
that accompanied the show and to "Insane" Shane McCain for warming the crowd up
prior to the big sky explosion
The new sound board and music selections at the speedway featured another wave
of fabulous music as family member Michael Hatzistergos put in many hours of
work in adding new music selections to the great package.
The fabulous concession stand offered the famous Accord Chicken BBQ as the
specialty for the evening, served picnic style with all of the trimmings and was
once again well received by the overflow crowd. The hard working kitchen staff
worked overtime with a performance that would have made Chef Gordon Ramsey
proud.
Heat races were captured by Mike Storms, Robbie Green and Dom Roselli in the
Modifieds with Jeff Heotzler capturing the Modified Consi. Jesse Marks, Dave
Werber and Kevin Ward were victorious in the Sportsman heats with Kevin Krom
enjoying a win in the Sportsman Consi. Phil Johnson and Wayne Devantoy had the
hot hand with wins in the Spec Sportsman heats and Clarence Smith and John Roese
were triumphant in the Pro Stock heats. Tim Brown and Jerry Craig enjoyed wins
in the Pure Stock heats.
"The Freskeeto Bandito" David Bush returned to the speedway for the first time
in 2011 and scored a 16th place finish in his initial outing and stating it felt
good to be back in the seat of the race car. New Pure Stock racers on hand
included Jim Cuneo, Harry Bachman, and Ron Santosky and Mike Deyo made a return
to action in the Kyle Wright owned Pure Stock racer. John Aumick made a nice
return to the speedway as he scored a ninth place finish in the Spec Sportsman
main event. Kyle Wright shook down his new Sportsman mount and Dan Rion made his
first appearance of the season in the Pro Stock ranks. Brad Szulewski returned
to action and just missed qualifying for the main event.
Brad Rothaupt returned to action and was credited with a 17th place finish in
the Modified main. Howard Jarvis made his first Accord start in over a year and
just missed a top ten finish in the main event.
The speedway was in pristine condition for the event and the drivers reported
very little tire wear through out the evening of events. The track was great
throughout the evening as Brett Hearn broke the track record for the Modified
division with a clocking of 12.572 seconds for a one lap time. Bobby Hentschel
had held the record for a span during the hot laps at 12.685 until Hearn sizzled
the clay with his new mark. During the feature run, Hearn was still clocking off
times in the 12.8 range as the track had great bite and was raceable from top to
bottom and the talented roster of drivers used all of the real estate to put on
a great show for the fans.
Through the gracious efforts of track photographer Kevin Berryman and his KB'S
Racing Photos and the generous assistance of the drivers who donated race car
body parts and pieces, and the fans who purchased them, the speedway raised more
than $1,000.00 for the American Cancer Society. Jerry Higbie and Kevin Ward
adorned their speed buggies in pink for the evening and signed autographs for
the fans prior to the hot laps.

Carrier wins another All Star Late Model race
at KC
CHILLICOTHE, OH (7-1-11)By Brian Liskai The Salt Rock Express Eddie Carrier Jr.
is undefeated in big late model events at KC Raceway. The Salt Rock, West
Virginia driver would pass Richmond, Indianas Steve Casebolt late in the 40-lap
feature Friday and would power to the win.
Carriers victory in the Night the Stars Come Out goes with his Classic: win
earlier this year a the for a sweep of the OReilly Auto Parts All Star Circuit
of Champions Late Model Series events at KC Raceway.
It dont get any better than this! exclaimed Carl Grover, the owner of Carriers
Grover Racing Engines/Engines Inc./Blue Ridge Machinery and Tools backed #28.
Its good to be back here at KC. You always have a good, fast race track here. We
were pretty good tonight. I didnt know if I could have got him (Casebolt) if he
didnt spin his tires off of two just a little bit, said Carrier. This is a good
way to start the Fourth of July weekend. KC is one of the best tracks
around, the fans were great tonightall I can say is its not much of a stripe
yaall just keep coming back and supporting this place.
In the 40-lap late model feature, Casebolt bolted into the early lead over
Carrier, who rode shotgun with the leader throughout much of the event. A lap
seven Frank Heckenest spin would bring out the caution, setting the stage for a
Delaware style shootout. Casebolt would power away only to see the action slow
on lap 10 when Brad Neat slowed on the top of turn three.
On the ensuing restart Casebolt would again zoom to the point with some cushion
between he and Carrier. But, as the pair raced into traffic at the half-way
point, Carriers Ford began to close the gap three times he dove under Casebolt
in turn one, scrubbing off some speed on each attempt. Carrier wouldnt give up
and he and Casebolt ran nose to tail much of the
next 10 laps.
Behind the lead duo, Donnie Moran fresh off an All Star win five days earlier at
Millstream Speedway and Tim Dohm began to close in, making it a wild four car
race.
With nine laps remaining, Carrier again had caught Casebolt and put on a power
slide job on the end of lap 31 to take the lead coming out of turn four.
Meanwhile, Earl Pearson Jr. came on to a strong fifth but Dohm closed the
door on his charge. Dohm then rallied the last three laps to again pressure
Moran for third.
At the finish it was Carrier over Casebolt, Moran, Dohm and Pearson. Greg
Johnson was next in line in what was a spectacular run for the Indiana driver as
he came through the B-main, started 17th and finished sixth to earn the
hard-charger honors. Rounding out the top 10 were Johnny McCool, Ben Adkins,
Josh McGuire and defending KC champ Delmas Conley.
I have come in second many times here. It seems like when we come here for a
$5,000-to-win race we run second. It is what it is, said Casebolt beside his
Rockstar Energy Drink/Makita Industrial Power Tools/Dixie Chopper backed #C9. Im
happy to finish secondits better than third.
For three-time All Star champion Moran, third was the best he could get out of
his car on this night.
Those guys were running real good tonight. I had a good car, but they were just
a little better. For as hot as it was the track was in pretty good shape, said
Moran.

Stinson Claims 1st Leg of OVSCA Sprint Speed
weekend
Tyler Carpenter Captures AMRA Late Models
Bond Blasts AMRA Mods/Adkins Aces 4 Cylinders
STEWART, OHIO-Vandalia, Ohio’s Jimmy Stinson aboard the B&J Welding/Contracting
#22 led from green-to-checkered to kick off the first leg of the Ohio Valley
Sprint Car Association (OVSCA) Super Sprint Weekend Friday night at Billy
Jarrell’s Skyline Speedway. The tour continues Saturday night at the Ohio Valley
Speedway and concludes Sunday, July 3 at I-77 Raceway in Fairplain, WV. Another
good crowd greeted the 113 cars that filled the pits.
Tyler Carpenter also posted a flag-to-flag win in the AMRA Late Models, Andy Bond grabbed the AMRA modified main, Tommy Adkins took the Four Cylinders, and Coyle Mayle again claimed the Mike’s Auto Body Mini-Wedges.
As a result of picking up the first heat win with a late pass over Aaron Higgins, Stinson started on the pole and never looked back in the 25-lap campaign. “Fine Wine” Dave Dickson aboard the Doug Abbott mount came on strong at the finish to taunt Stinson, while youngster Kory Crabtree anchored down third place.
Last week’s winner Josh Davis brought home fourth ahead of Mitchel Harble, Aaron Higgins, Brian Benson, Mark Imler, Chris Myers, and Wes McGlumphy. Heat wins went to Stinson and Crabtree while Higgins set fast time.
In the late model main a new face hit victory lane for his first Skyline feature win. Young Tyler Carpenter became the third member of the racing Carpenter’s to claim a super Late Model win in holding off Beckley, WV challenger Rick Williams. The win broke Chris Garnes’ win streak at three.
Garnes brought home third ahead of Freddie Carpenter, Ralph Withem, Larry Bond, Colten Burdette, Dan Morrison, Travis Brookover, and Jeff Burdette who rounded out the top ten.
One of the most competitive races of the night was the AMRA modified main. Andy Bond took the lead from Kenny Johnson on lap nine, then held off late race charges from the rampaging J.P. Roberts. Roberts stormed from 10th to second, but ran out of time, fending off defending champion Kenny Johnson.
Posting another great run was Derrick Smith and Rick Venham, who burst into the top five. Sixth through tenth were Vince Conrad, Roy Roush, Jason Brooks, Robert Garnes, and B-main winner Jeremy Jarvis up from 17th.
Same result/different night. In the Four Cylinder main, Tommy Adkins burst into the early lead and never looked back. The invading Strickland boys were not enough for the flying Portland, OH ace. Finishing in second was Mike Strickland, followed by Chris Strickland, George Klintworth, Jeff Rankin, Barry Kitts, John Rankin, Brad Stone, Cody Heiss, and Steve Brown.
Young Cole Mayle grabbed the mini-wedge main for the fifth time this season . Behind Mayle were Jason Gillian, Colten Perine, Corey Delancey, Tyler Evans, Skylar Zimmerman, Corey Miller, Samantha Roush, Cale Stinson, and Kasey Rankin.
Skyline continues action next Friday, July 8
with a full racing program.

K-C Raceway Results FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
By Scott Wolfe
CHILLICOTHE, OHIO-A "Star-Spangled Night" complete with a booming Fireworks
display kicked off one of the biggest events of the season at Schrader's K-C
Raceway where All-Star competitors Dale Blaney, Hartford, Ohio (410 Sprints) and
Eddie Carrier, Jr. of Salt Rock, WV (Late Models) claimed the "Night the Stars
Come Out" wins. Jamey Adams, Laurelville, OH claimed the companion Hobby Stock
win in a perfect 8-for-8 season.
It wasn't as easy as his Speedweek win, but it was the same result for the 'low-rider' Dale Blaney, who strayed away from his low-riding tradition to a high-side rim-ride to victory in the 30-lap O'Reilly All-Star Circuit of Champions sprint division. The win was not easy by any means as it took some bad luck on the part of Tim Schaffer and a few other contenders to boost Blaney's chances.
Blaney and Schaffer paced the field to the initial green flag, where. Blaney took the lead. Cole Duncan jumped the cushion and flipped from his 6th place starting slot, collecting Pete Miller III, Jimmy Nier and Danny Smith. Nier went to the work area, but was unable to start along with Duncan and Smith.
After a lap seven restart for a stalled Jac Haudenschild, Schaffer challenged Blaney for then next seven circuits when a Schaffer slide job in turn one got the job done for the lead exchange. Rob Chaney and Cap Henry began closing the gap on the two leaders, but on lap 18 Chaney jumped the cushion and went spinning off turn two for a caution. A lap later Chaney went pitside.
Appearing to have things well at hand, Schaffer held about a four to five car length lead over Blaney. Schaffer spun on the back chute as something broke on the number 83 car. The two time champ went to the pit work area and corrected the problem, having to start at the rear of the field on lap 20.
Due to the high number of cautions the race was red flagged on lap 23 for a fuel stop. The caution was caused by a run off the back chute by Miller and Cap Henry, whose stellar run ended with a reported engine woe. By this time Schaffer had picked off five cars on a charge back to the front.
Gaining some ground in turns one and two, David Gravel made a bid at Blaney on the last lap, but Blaney carried the momentum to claim the win. Kody Kinser brought home the Kinser Lumber 4k third, while Greg Wilson finished a strong fourth and Schaffer blitzed onward to fifth. Wilson's run earned him hard charger honors for a 17th to 4th place run.
Rounding out the top ten were Dale Blaney,
David Gravel, Kody Kinser, Greg Wilson, Tim Schaffer, Jessica Zemken, Todd Kane,
Sheldon Haudenschild, Danny Holtgraver, and Jared Ridge. Young stars Bryce
Dickson and Nathan Skaggs joined veterans Ed Neumeister, Nick Naber, and Eddie
Slone for the next five slots.
In the competitive, companion 40-lap O'Reilly All-Star Late Model main Steve
Casebolt bolted into the early lead over Eddie Carrier, Jr. who rode shotgun
with the leader much of the event.
On lap seven Frank Heckenest brought out the caution, setting the stage for a
Delaware style shootout. Casebolt, who drew the number one pill, again powered
away only to see the action slow on lap ten when Brad Neat slowed on the top of
turn three.
Upon restarting, Casebolt again zoomed to the point with some pad between he and second place Carrier. As the pair raced upon traffic circa lap 20, Carrier's Engines Incorporated Ford began to close the gap, three times diving under Casebolt in turn one, scrubbing off some speed on each attempt. Carrier didn't falter as he and Casebolt ran nose to tail much of the next ten laps. As Carrier and Casebolt raced each other up front, Donnie Moran and Tim Dohm closed in, making it a wild four car race.
On lap 31 Carrier again caught Casebolt and put on a power slide job on the end of lap 31 to take the lead coming out of four. Earl Pearson, Jr. came on to a strong fifth, but Dohm closed the door on his charge.
Dohm then rallied the last three laps to again pressure Moran for third. At the finish it stood at Eddie Carrier, Jr., Steve Casebolt, Jr., Donnie Moran, Tim Dohm, and Earl Pearson, Jr. Greg Johnson was next in line in what was a spectacular run for the Indiana driver. Johnson came through the B-main, started 17th and finished sixth to earn hard-charger honors.
Rounding out the top ten were Johnny
McCool, Ben Adkins, Josh McGuire, and defending K-C champ Delmas Conley. K-C
star Mike Wilson came from 20th to 11th with a good run.
"It don't get any better than this!” exclaimed winning car-owner Carl Grover.
"It's good to be back here at K-C. You always have a good, fast race track here. Early in the race I kept changin' my mind a little bit as to where I was gonna run, and I showed my nose to make him (Casebolt) change his mind a little bit. He drove a good race too."
"When the track gets like this you have to be patient and take your time. We were pretty good tonight. I didn't know if I could have got him, if he didn't spin his tires off of two just a little bit," said Eddie Carrier, Jr. " This is a good way to start the Fourth of July weekend. K-C is one of the best tracks around, the fans were great tonight all I can say is ya'all just keep coming back and supporting this place."
Second place Steve Casebolt, Jr. said, "I have come in second many times here. It seems like when we come here for $5,000 to win we run second. It is what it is. I am happy to finish second, it's better than third. You had a great crowd tonight and that's what make it happen. I would like to thank the fans."
Third place Donnie Moran said subtly, "Those guys were running real good tonight. I had a good car, but they were just a little better. For as hot as it was the track was in pretty good shape."
Jamey Adams claimed his eighth straight Hobby Stock main in a green to checkered finish. Brandon Mather stayed close much of the way, but the real battle was the drive from the tail to second by Brandon Thompson. Thompson suffered a flat in the heat race and was forced to start scratch.
Each lap the youngster picked off cars, but ran out of laps in his pursuit of the high-flying Adams. Gary Park also had a good run to fourth, but his efforts were stopped by Mather, who was smooth-fast all night. Behind Adams and Thompson were Brandon Mather, Gary Park, Mike Brust, Keith Dubois, Butch Eblin, Jack Martin, Tim Cutler, and Tommy Mossbarger.
K-C hosts the NRA Sprint Invaders, Late
Models, Advanced Services Modifieds and Hobby Stocks Saturday, July 9th, then
hosts the BOSS Non-winged Sprints July 16 in the Gene Comstock Memorial. Late
Models, Hobby Stocks, and Rear-wheel drive 4cylinders are also on the race card.

AMRA Expands Northern Boundaries to Roaring Knob
Organization Offers Warm Welcome to 1st Class Facility
MT. ALTO, WV-The American Motor Racing Association (AMRA) wishes to proudly
announce the signing of Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex near Markleysburg, PA.
The signing of this fine facility fills a Saturday night void on the AMRA
schedule along the PA/WV/MD border where many AMRA members call home.
"Now, we have to get the word out," said Director of Racing Operations Scott Wolfe. "Roaring Knob is now an official AMRA track for our modifieds. We are overwhelmingly happy and enthusiastic about this union. I would like to thank all the parties that helped pull this deal together. It's a great addition to the AMRA family and a great thing for Roaring Knob. This program will just grow and grow."
Oval Track Promoter at Roaring Knob Rick Jones said, "I think the foundation of the AMRA will really help our modified program here at Roaring Knob. I enjoy the modifieds very much and the fans enjoy them. We are planning a big race later on in the season and with the AMRA aboard it should be a great second half of the season."
"Anytime you pick up a speedway as nice as Roaring Knob, you have to be estatic," said AMRA President Larry Keefer. "Picking up Roaring Knob solidifies our Northern program and gives guys in that area a couple nights a week to race. It has been a pleasure working with the folks at the Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex. We are looking to grow the modified deal for both them and the AMRA. We wish them the best of luck, and thank them for coming aboard."
Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex is located near Markleysburg PA just off of scenic Route 40 on Fearer Road, 7 miles east of Nemacolin Woodlands on the right, 1 mile west of Yough Lake on the left.
val Track Promotions are directed by Rick Jones at 410-857-3821. The raceday phone is 724-329-0306. The weekly program consists of Super Late Models, Pro-Late Models, E-mods, Street Stocks, V8-Chargers, and Roadrunners.
Weekly Action Events Admission
Grandstands $ 12.
Children & 10 Under FREE
All Pit Tickets $ 25.
Drive-In Parking $ 15. /car plus Grandstand Admission
With Elkins Speedway in close proximity on Friday Nights, the signing of the newest AMRA track could help build up the AMRA modified class at both speedways. Elkins has always been a huge support of the AMRA.
Roaring Knob has ample areas inside the facility for lawn chair viewing, or fans can sit in the grandstands, or come early to reserve a drive-in parking spot and view from the car. Drive-in parking is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Times for Regular Action Events are: Pit gates open at 4:30pm, grandstand gates open at 5:00pm, hot laps begin at 6:45 and racing starts at 7:15pm. Check schedule for possible different starting times for special events.
Plenty of free parking is found in the main parking area. Designated handicapped parking areas are located right at the main general admission gate. The track provides "shuttle service" to and from the grandstand areas for those needing assistance.
One of the perks besides good racing at Roaring Knob is the great food. Fans can visit the modern concession stand and new "Quik Stop" Specialty Stand for a nice variety of good food and Pepsi products all at reasonable prices. A gift shop is located in the Food Court area beside the main concession stand.
More information can be found at http://www.roaringknob.com/index.php or on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/roaringknob?ref=sgm . Directions can be found on the website. The track is located in Southern Pennsylvania near the West Virginia/ Maryland border.

Road Warriors Return to Natural Bridge July 2
Strong Field Expected to Make Southern Swing
MT. ALTO, WV-After a highly successful venture with the AMRA the first time
around, Natural Bridge Speedway in Lexington,VA will host its second Road
Warrior Challenge of the season this holiday weekend Saturday, July 2.
Natural Bridge Speedway promoter's Larry and Karey Ramsey are pleased to be a part of the newly formed partnership with the American Motor Racing Association for the 2011 racing season. The second AMRA event comes to the Virginia high-banks this Saturday and with the tightening points race of the series heating up more cars are expected to make the swing in round two at NBS.
Natural Bridge gates open at 3:00, the driver's meeting is at 5:15, hot laps are at 5:30. The track has an 11:00 p.m. curfew so anyone making the tow will be home early. Sunoco race fuel is available at both tracks. AMB TransX260 Transponders and RACEceivers available at the NBS track. Raceceivers are required.
A couple weeks ago NASCAR star Ken Schrader got the lead on a restart. Both man and machine were the class of the field throughout the remaining laps, and Schrader was never again seriously challenged for the top spot. Doug Henry chased Schrader most of the event before losing the runner-up spot to Joe Meadows with just two laps to go. Meadows found speed at the end of the event, but it was too- little too late and Schrader celebrated in victory lane.
The AMRA is pleased that Natural Bridge Speedway has kept the AMRA in Virginia and has maintained a safe, level playing field for the "Virginia Boys" racing teams.
