LINCOLN SPEEDWAY PPB MODIFIED & SPRINT DOUBLEHEADER
MACH 1 358/360 Sprints to pay $3,000 To Win. . . . . . .
ANTICIPATION. . . . . .THE MODIFIEDS ARE COMING. . . ROC MODIFIEDS GEAR UP FOR
LINCOLN SPEEDWAY INVASION TUESDAY, JULY 12
It could very well be, the most anticipated modified race of the year.
Pioneer Pole Buildings present an ROC Modified and 358/360 Sprint Doubleheader
at the famed Lincoln Speedway and it all takes place on Tuesday night, July 12.
The modifieds last circled the Lincoln Speedway some twenty-five years ago, and
a lot has changed since then, including the size and configuration of the now
three-eighth mile clay oval. Turn four, also known as the "tunnel turn", now has
an under track passage that goes from the grandstand to an infield open for
spectator race viewing. There are plenty of seats that begin in turn one and
continue deep into turn four. Lincoln Speedway is an extremely "fan friendly"
facility to enjoy this history making first time double header in the Pigeon
Hills.
With strong sponsorship support from Pioneer Pole Buildings, MACH 1 Chassis and
NAPA Auto Parts, this spectacular event will offer a $20 adult general admission
price. Students 12 to 17 are just $15, children 6-11 $5 and kids under six will
be admitted for free. The pit fee will be $25 and a license is not required. In
the event of rain, Wednesday night, July 13 will be the rain date.
The ROC Modifieds will compete in a series of qualifying events leading up to
the $5,000 to win 60 lap feature event. The MACH 1 358/360 Sprint Challenge will
offer heats a "B" Main and a 25 lap feature paying $3,000 to the winner.
Expected modified entries include Race of Champions point leader Billy Decker,
Jeff Strunk, Stewart Friesen, Duane Howard, Craig VonDohren, Bobby Varin, Danny
Johnson, Pat Ward, Mike Gular, Larry Wight, Kevin Hirthler, Ryan Phelps, Rick
Laubach, Jimmy Horton, Billy Pauch, Doug Manmiller and Richie Pratt. The roster
for the MACH 1 358/360 Sprint Challenge is equally impressive to include Daryn
Pittman, Mark Smith, Aaron Ott, Brian Montieth, Billy Dietrich, Pat Cannon,
Blane Heimbach, Cory Haas, Keith Prutzman, Dave Ely, Niki Young, Adrian Shaffer
and Kramer Williamson just to name a few.
The BFP Specialty ROC & ROLL the Dice Challenge will work this way. Drivers will
pay a $100 fee to participate. 100% of all money collected by BFP Specialty will
be paid back to the winning driver. For example, the 60 lap modified feature is
already paying $5,000 to the winner. If ten drivers participate in the BFP
Specialty ROC & ROLL the Dice Challenge, and additional $1,000 will go to the
winner. If twenty drivers participate, the main event will pay $7,000. In
addition, every driver that enters the Challenge will receive a $25 certificate
for BFP Specialty that may be used towards any purchase of $200 or more.
The BFP Specialty bonus will be paid out in victory to the winner of the 60 lap
modified feature event. Drivers may send their BFP ROC & ROLL the Dice entry fee
to:
BFP Specialty's LLC
9090 Old Route 22
Bethel, PA 19507
For more information, call BFP at 717-933-4999 or Ben Moyer at 717-679-4816.
Entries will be accepted up to the Drivers Meeting the day of the race. BFP
Specialty located in Bethel, PA will also be the parts supplier for the
Modifieds at the Lincoln Speedway ROC event.
Modified lap sponsorship is available for a minimum of $10 per lap by contacting
Ben Moyer at 717-679-4816.
And still another bonus is up for grabs for the modifieds on Tuesday night, July
12. In memory of Chad Miller, Award the winner of each modified heat will earn
$50 to be paid on race night. Sponsoring the Award is Donnie, Patti and Chelsea
Miller, in the memory of Chad Miller. Those who knew Chad, truly understand the
special person he was and his over-riding love for racing, family and friends.
We appreciate the heat race winner's bonus money and lets all work to preserve
the memory of Chad Miller.

Lincoln Speedway is a very popular and "fan friendly" track in the tri-state
area, offering great unobstructed viewing from every seat in the grandstands.
The infield is open for watching the races by entering through the fourth turn
tunnel. The pits are asphalt, with a slight elevation and great lighting a so
fans can watch all the pit action as well. The three-eighth mile Lincoln
Speedway offers it all, the high speeds that you would see at the "big tracks"
with the flair and excitement of the short track "bull rings". At Lincoln
Speedway, you'll have it all.

ACCORD SPEEDWAY NEWS
Accord, NY- "Prime Time" Scott Ferrier Wires Tough Modified Field In Accord
Speedway Run For The Roses
By: Steve Pados, Accord Speedway Media
The quiet serenity of the Catskill Mountains displays a heart throbbing and
quickening pulse a couple of times a week during the summer months as raw
horsepower displaces the gentle breezes and erupts in the peaks and valleys like
a small earthquake. The once "it spot" for the hundreds of thousands of vacation
goers and travelers passing through the area has now given way to the stars and
cars that make up the stellar driving rosters of the six divisions of racing
that entertain the loyal band of race fans who fill the Accord Speedway
grandstand seats to see their favorite driving heroes perform on a weekly basis.
Friday night was no exception to the rule as Bloomingburg, New York hot shoe
"Prime Time" Scott Ferrier was dealt a favorable starting spot and took full
advantage of it as he powered his way into the lead at the start of the event
and led the entire distance of the thirty lap headliner for the Modified
division to capture his first win of the 2011 racing season at the Ulster County
facility. Kyle Rohner, Shane Jablonka, Joe Narok, Al Christiana and Richie
VanOrden all added wins at the speedway on a perfectly manicured race track that
remained ultra quick throughout the evening. New 2011 division sponsor Arkel
Motors, the authorized International Truck dealer in the greater Hudson Valley,
served as the headline sponsor for the evening and brought along with them a
pristine International Roll-Back vehicle that paced the start of each feature
event.
Ferrier and Bobby Hentschel brought the 22-car VP Fuel/Rhinebeck Ford Modified
starting field to the line to kick-off the 30-lap headliner and it was Ferrier
showing no mercy as he quickly slipped off with the lead and seemingly at will
ripped off vast hunks of real estate to command the field in the early stages of
the event. "Showtime" Danny Tyler, fresh off a runner-up performance at another
facility earlier in the week, found an open channel on the top shelf and closed
the distance on Ferrier and the dueling pair went for the same piece of
available ground off of turn two that caused Tyler to check up and kiss the
boiler plate with his right rear tire and lose valuable distance and positions
as Mike Ricci took advantage of the close encounter and moved into the runner-up
slot as he found a great line to attack from and challenged Ferrier until he
lost the handle of his race car on lap ten and retired from the encounter. On
the restart, current point leader and modified legend Brett Hearn threw his hat
into the ring as a bonafide contender to Ferrier as he went up and down the many
racing lanes trying to find a way around the "Prime Time" kid as he maintained
his advantage.
Hearn, a master at finding the open door, tried everything he could to dislodge
Ferrier from the top wrung of the ladder but Ferrier pushed his Orange Energy
hot rod to the limit and held his ground against one of the best in the
business. In the waning stages of the feature, "The Wild Child" Andy Bachetti
attacked the speedway racing channels with a vengeance as he raced from twelfth
starting position to challenge the leaders. Hearn had to play a bit of defense
as Bachetti challenged and got by him to move into the runner-up slot but a
caution for the limping Kevin Duryea caused the field to revert back to the
previous lap and installing Hearn back in the runner-up role. On the restart
Hearn pulled up alongside of Ferrier a couple of times in the final three laps
but Ferrier wouldn't be denied as he picked up his first win of the season and
became the fourth different winner in as many weeks at the speedway. Hearn
enjoyed an excellent runner-up finish with Bachetti finishing up in third place
and Danny Tyler remaining steady and quick all evening long to record a fourth
place finish. Danny Creeden continued his amazing run of good fortune at the
speedway to complete the top five. Jerry Higbie, Jeff Heotzler, Clinton Mills
from 18th, Rick Mill and Robbie Green completed the top ten finishing order.
The Healey Brothers Group Spec Sportsman encounter found the much improved Wayne
Devantoy at the front of the pack for the first two laps before yielding to the
fast speed buggy of the "Hinsch Mob" Kenny Hinsch. Hinsch was in control and
threatened to runaway with the event until a few altercations slowed the pace of
the pace of the race. With event finally returning to green flag racing Kyle
Rohner attacked from the bottom of the racetrack and pulled even with Hinsch as
the two gunslingers fought to be number one. Rohner cleared Hinsch to lead the
event on lap fourteen but Hinsch came roaring back and attempted an outside pass
of Rohner but the real estate was a bit tight and Hinsch got into Rohner and
bounced into the unforgiving boiler plate and launched into a series of
hair-raising flips and totally destroying his racer car. Hinsch was shaken but
uninjured in the scary crash. On the restart it was Rohner once again in command
but "The Ironman" Mike Dubois gave chase and made it a close race with Rohner
winning his fourth event of the season and regaining the point lead at the
speedway. DuBois was the runner-up with Phil Johnson doing great work for a
third place run and reigning National Junior Slingshot champion Tyler Dippel
grabbing up a fourth place finish in his best run as a rookie and Matt Hitchcock
rebounding from a trip to the pits to complete the top five. The returning Kyle
Cicio, Joe Judge, Wayne Devantoy, Tommy Johnson and Kyle VanDuser completed the
top ten.
The Arkel Motors Pure Stock feature proved to be the Joe Narok show as the
veteran campaigner overcame early leader Jerry Craig on lap three to waltz into
the Lucas Oil Products Winners Circle for the fourth time in the 2011 racing
season. Ryan Johnson was the runner-up with John Woinoski racing to third in the
latter stages of the race and Chris Kanuk and Taylor May completing the top
five. For May, it was the best performance of her rookie season at Accord as the
fourteen year old picks up the pace with each performance at the speedway.
Bill Rion took his "Batmobile" racer to the front in the early laps of the DC
Landscaping Services Pro Stock main. Rion gave way to hard driving Al Christiana
as the Accord resident, who has returned to racing from a two year hiatus, found
the fast line to shine as he held off the strong advances of Pat Zimmer and Tom
Vasta to score his first ever win at the speedway. Zimmer and Vasta followed
with John Roese grabbing up fourth place and the returning Ralph Ronk getting a
great performance from his new ride to complete the top five.
Richie VanOrden captured his third main event of the season in the Legends
feature.
The Camper's Barn Sportsman feature encounter had Kenny Ferrier race out to the
lead at the start of the event and leading through the first 18-laps of the
event. As the race crept into the mid stages, Ferrier slowed a bit and "The
Hurrishane" Shane Jablonka came a knocking on the door. Jablonka challenged but
couldn't make it stick until lap-19 when he was able to take advantage of
Ferrier slipping up the racetrack to assume control of the point and go on to
capture his second win of the season. Vinny DeCicco was on the coat tails of
Jablonka to score the runner-up slot with steady Jesse Marks in third, David
Coene in fourth and Ferrier hanging on to complete the top five.
MUDPLUGS:
Once again Promoter Gary Palmer had the speedway in pristine racing condition
with the track surface offering more bite than a pack of wild tigers. Offering
multiple lanes of racing from the bottom to the top, the end result was an event
the racing fans will keep talking about until the next gathering on Friday June
17th when Healey Brothers headlines the evening of racing activities. Driver
after driver praised Palmer for the tremendous effort he puts into the speedway
week after week and heat racing action saw Danny Tyler stopping the clocks in
and around the 12.6 seconds area and Tommy Johnson knocking off a 13.368 seconds
lap in his Spec Sportsman speed buggy. The competition at the speedway remains
close and the point battles are beginning to heat up in each division at the
speedway. Long-time friend of Gary Palmer, Jody Conti, was on hand for the
evening of racing excitement and confirmed the racing at the speedway is the
best he has ever seen with the competition being close and the action taking
place from wall to wall.
Heat racing action for the Modifieds produced Anthony Perrego, Scott Ferrier and
Danny Tyler as the winners with the "Chill Factor" Carl Pittenger grabbing the
consolation win in his Circle K race car. Sportsman heats were captured by Will
Dietz and Kenny Ferrier while Spec Sportsman heats were won by Matt Hitchcock,
Tommy Johnson and Kenny Hinsch. John Sundlof captured the Consolation event for
the Spec Sportsman racers. Pure Stock heats were won by Jerry Craig and Tim
Brown and the Pro Stock heats went to Al Christiana and Tom Vasta.
In a conversation with Kenny Hinsch by phone, he stated he was a bit sore from
his wild ride off of the boiler plate but in relatively good spirits from the
harrowing ordeal. He stated his season is more than likely over for 2011 as the
race car is a total write-off with damage everywhere he looked. Kenny thanked
the top-notch safety crew for getting to the accident scene quickly to attend to
him.
New drivers onto the Accord scene included the Cicio Brothers, Brad and Kyle and
their sharp looking mounts. Kyle enjoyed a great night while Brad encountered
some problems in his maiden voyage at the speedway. Kevin Smith, a second
generation driver, made his Accord debut and fostered a 12th place finish in the
Spec main. His Dad Don raced at the Accord Speedway in the past as well as the
old Lake Mocatek facility. Brett Graham took over the Danny Cross ride after
Cross became ill after his heat event and returned home.
Mac and Cheese headlined the creations from the Accord kitchen specialists while
variations of the dish included a topping of chili and a crunchy cheese dusting.
Pepperoni Pizza was offered for the first time at the speedway and the many hand
crafted sandwiches available are always a hit with the racing fans. Root Beer
Floats and Milk Shakes added to the many offerings from the concession staff.
George and Tara Baxter won $200.00 for selecting Scott Ferrier to win the
feature event in the "Pick the Winner" contest and Pierre Hendrickson won an
Accord Family four pack courtesy of Pat Zimmer racing in a second giveaway at
the speedway.
Brett Ryan joined the announcing staff at the speedway and thoroughly enjoyed
the view from the top of the tower and in working with track announcers Joel
Murns and Steve Pados.
Midweek Madness returns to the speedway on June 15th with new Wednesday format
with many new divisions of racing joining force to create an entertaining and
fast moving show
Wild Bill and his firecracker experts return to the speedway on July 1st as the
speedway welcomes in the Fourth of July weekend with Wild Bill's amazing light
show that always rocks the Catskill Mountains skies. The now famous Chicken BBQ
will compliment a great fun filled family weekend at the Accord facility.

A Trail Of Dirt Leads Right To Our Door
"LIL HAUD" Takes K-C 410 Sprint Cash
Pinkerton and Adams claim AMRA Mods and Dan Reno Hobbys
K-C Raceway Results 6-11-11 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
By Scott Wolfe
CHILLICOTHE, OHIO-A great field of cars and a packed house set the back drop for
a drama-filled evening of racing that saw second generation driver Sheldon
Haudenschild, Millersburg, OH claim the Goodyear 410 sprint car win over a field
of 32 of the regions finest sprint drivers during Fan Appreciation Night at
Schrader's K-C Raceway, Saturday night. Dave "Fireball" Pinkerton, Chillicothe
claimed his second win of the year in the Advanced Services AMRA Modified main
after a race-long battle with Hall of Famer Bob Crace, Jr.; and talented Jamey
Adams, Laurelville, OH claimed the Dan Reno Hobby stock bout in a close run over
Bruce Gray, Jr. Fan Appreciation Night was sponsored by the Pike County
Commissioners.
Thirty-two sprint cars poured through the gates in a quest to get the winner's share of the purse, plus a brand new Goodyear tire from Kear's Speed Shop for anyone finishing in the top ten. Despite heavy rains Friday night and Saturday morning that dumped nearly two inches of moisture on the track; the 3/8 mile oval was again extremely fast.
Circa 1976 a youngster by the name of Jac
Haudenschild drove the Yerian Coal Co. #75 to his first (then Atomic Speedway)
K-C Raceway win. Some 36 years later, another teenager, 16-year old Sheldon
Haudenschild, blitzed his way to his first K-C victory lane via the highside--the
trademark rim-ride his famous father made famous in a storied Hall of Fame
career.
A first lap crash in turn 3 blocked the track and collected six heavy-hitters (
Aaron Higgins, Nick Naber, Kyle Sauder, Jimmy Stinson, Danny Smith, fast timer
Cole Duncan), altering the script to the tune of an equally prolific drama.
Lil Haud battled early leader Jimmy Nier as the duo literally romped the high banks as if on a rail. On lap five Haudenschild's #93 dove low by Nier, but Nier battled back to lead two more circuits. Haudenschild made a high-side pass stick and left Nier to pursue closely for the next ten circuits.
Wayne McPeek, "TheWest Virginia Warrior" and Mitchell Harble battled up through the pack after transferring from the B-main to top ten runs. Much of the race Kory Crabtree and Ron Blair swapped positions, while Josh Davis, Zach Ames, Chris Myers, and Mark Imler jostled for position in sometimes 3-wide action. For a time Crabtree was within striking distance of Nier, but once Blair came into the mix, Nier pulled away.
Haudenschild started to inch away and was slowed only once in lapped traffic. A lap 15 restart gave the front runners open sailing, but the youngster soon stretched it out to a comfortable lead and on to the win.
Said Haudenschild, "I'd like to dedicate this win to my Grandpa. I really had fun out their tonight and it's neat to have Dad here to see me win. I just wish he'd had the chance to race me in the feature; but we'll try that again next week."
Rounding out the top ten were Haudenschild, Nier, Ron Blair, Kory Crabtree, Mitchel Harble, Josh Davis, Wayne McPeek, Zach Ames, Chris Myers, and Mark Imler.
Flip victims included Kyle Sauder, Danny Smith, Jordan Harble, and Dallas Hewitt. Jac Haudenschild suffered engine problems while leading his heat race and was finished for the evening.
In the Advanced Services AMRA Modified main, Bob Crace, Jr. and Dave "Fireball" Pinkerton, two Chillicothe natives put on the show of a lifetime much to the delight of the large crowd. Crace led the first four markers and survived several restarts before Pinkerton powered by to take the lead.
From that point on Crace threw everything he had at Pinkerton. Every time Crace challenged, the crowd cheered, some in hopes that Crace could make the pass, and some cheering that Pinkerton wouldn't fold. While that duo battled up front, Mark Bailey had the run of his career in holding off defending champion and car-builder Brian Whiteman. Bailey took the low-to-middle line and Whiteman the high-side, often running on the edge and nearing disaster. Early contenders Jeremy Berwanger and Danny Ferguson exited early after a turn two accident. Jeremy Rayburn also had a good run going, but suffered a flat tire, ending his hopes of a top five finish.
ne of the up-and-coming top guns putting on a show was Phillip Bapst, who earned hard-charger honors in a torrid run from 14th to fifth. Standing hard on the throttle, Bapst picked up a position nearly every lap, but was nearly stonewalled toward the finish by hot shoes C.J. Ferguson and Jimmy Lennex, Jr. Once Bapst was by, Ferguson and Lennox fought it out and were left to hold off the challenges of John Arthurs and Jamie Lawson. Sean Settles also came on strong at the finish.
Much of the crowd was on its feet with three laps to go when Crace pulled alongside Pinkerton. "I heard him back there, then I saw him. I think I got a little nervous the last few laps, but had to concentrate to stay smooth."
Crace made a last lap bid, but Pinkerton won by a car length to gain his second victory of the season. "Bob raced me clean and I raced him clean. He's a good friend and great driver. I felt him pressuring me, and knew if I bobbled he'd be right there. I would like to thank all the fans for coming out and supporting the racing and also add that our K-C modified drivers all do a great job. They race hard and they race clean. I'm fortunate to win."
Rounding out the top ten were Pinkerton, Crace, Jr., Bailey, Whiteman, hard-charger Phillip Bapst, C.J. Ferguson, Jimmy Lennox, John Arthurs, Jamie Lawson, who recovered from a spin to reach a top ten; and Sean Settles. Pinkerton claimed the $50 Grooms Trucking Fast Time Award.
Like the close modified show, the Dan Reno Hobby Stocks were racey and showed much professionalism. Most of all, multi-time champion Jamey Adams engaged in a race-long battle with Bruce Gray, Jr. The two pulled away from the rest of the pack with Gray knocking on the door every step of the way. Brandon Mather won his heat and was poised for a good feature run, but suffered mechanical woes as did Jason Holstein.
Tommy Mossbarger pressured Gray early, but had to concentrate on holding off a blitzing Jim Hildebrand and Tracey Ross. Ross the Rim-rider kept up his momentum the entire feature run to bring home a top five. Roger Mossbarger came on strong late in the race pulling Keith Dubois and Tim Cutler in tow. Butch Eblin continues his strong season with a top ten finish over race hard-charger Jeff Sheets (14th to 10th).
Last week, Adams accepted and won the "Last to First" challenge, but opted for the more traditional route to victory lane this week. Still, Adams had his hands full. The last three laps Gray drove deep into the turns, forcing Adams to show his hand. When all was said and done, Adams doubled-down for the win with Gray a close second. Jim Hildebrand tried Mossbarger on the last lap, but Mossbarger, another K-C Champion held on for third. Both drivers had clean, hard runs into the top five.
Rounding out the top ten were Jamey Adams, Bruce Gray, Jr., Tommy Mossbarger, Jim Hildebrand, Tracey Ross, Roger Mossbarger, Keith Dubois, Tim Cutler, Butch Eblin, and Jeff Sheets.

Zeiner, Lutz, Helburg and Tidman Take Top Honors at Mountain Speedway
By: Gene Ostrowski
June 11, 2011
St. Johns, PA- Following a pit stop in the early going of the Sport Modified
feature Saturday night at Mountain Speedway, Zane Zeiner of Bath, PA drove back
to the front of the field and took his second straight Sport Modified win in
fashion. Craig Lutz of Miller Place, NY held off his competition and drove to
his first career Late Model victory and Joey Helburg of Toms. River, NJ took
home his second straight Factory Stock victory. In his first start of the season
at the track, Ryan Tidman took top honors in the TQ Midget feature in convincing
fashion.
Todd Geist started from the pole and led the Sport Modifieds to the green flag
in the 40-lap Sport Modified feature. He led the first circuit over Will
Schneider, Chip Wanamaker, Todd Baer and Zane Zeiner.
Wanamaker over took Schneider for the second spot and began to hound Geist for
the lead. Meanwhile, Zeiner went to work and moved up to third. He grabbed
second from Wanamaker and held the spot until the caution flag flew when Barry
Callavini spun on the front stretch. Zeiner gave up his track position and
pitted during the lap seven yellow.
Green flag racing resumed and Zeiner began to climb back toward the top five.
With Geist still in command, Wanamaker held second.
While running in third at the time, Todd Baer got out of shape and lost the
third position to Zeiner on lap 16. He then overtook Wanamaker for second on the
following lap and then challenged Geist for the race lead, which he took on lap
18. With apparent mechanical issues shortly after, Wanamaker fell off the pace.
With Zeiner still in command just past halfway, Geist continued to hold second,
followed by Mike Skarbowski, Schneider and Nick Pecko until the caution waved
when Barry Callavini and Schneider tangled just off of turn two. With nowhere to
go, Baer became a victim of the incident and suffered the worst damage.
Green flag racing resumed and Dave Brigati found himself in the fifth spot. He
worked over the competition to move all the way to second by the time the
checkers flew, but in the end it was Zeiner, who took his second straight Sport
Modified victory. Brigati finished as the runner up, followed by Skarbowski,
Pecko and Schneider.
Heat race victories went to Will Schneider and Zane Zeiner.
Francis Gross III started from the pole but lost the lead to Craig Lutz on the
start of the 30-lap Late Model feature. Mike Sweeney moved into second with
Gross, Austin Kochenash and Paul Skodacek in tow.
Sweeney hung with Lutz and made several attempts to take the top spot in the
early going. Meanwhile, both Kyle Harvell and Zane Zeiner began to climb toward
the top five.
Lutz led at halfway, followed by Sweeney, Harvell, Zeiner and Kochenash but that
all change when contact between Zeiner and Harvell put the third place driver in
a spin. Both drivers went to the rear of the field for the restart.
Looking to score his first career Late Model victory, Lutz was untouchable over
the closing laps and took the win over Sweeney, Kochenash, Zeiner and Harvell.
Heat race wins went to Mike Sweeney and Craig Lutz.
From the pole position, Brandon Oltra led the first circuit of the 20-lap
Factory Stock feature over Chris Parry, Joey Barbush, Matt Schlenker and Joey
Helburg.
Schlenker climbed to third on the first lap and then Oltra was overtaken for the
lead by Parry on lap two. Meanwhile, Helburg began to pick off positions one by
one and passed Oltra for the runner up spot on lap five.
Helburg closed in on the leader and Parry continued to hold him off until he
pulled to the infield with mechanical problems on lap 12.
Helburg held on over the remaining laps to score his second straight victory in
the division over Schlenker, Oltra, Barbush and Kermit Jacoby.
A scary incident took place during the first Factory Stock heat race when Rich
Paciotti was spun and made very heavy contact with the turn one fence, on the
driver’s side. Luckily, foam blocks line turn one and helped with the severe
impact. Paciotti, who is expected to be okay, was extracted from his car and was
alert and talking when he was taken to a local hospital.
Factory Stock heat race victories went to Chris Parry and Joey Helburg.
Tim Behmer started from the pole and was quickly overtaken by Buddy Sload on the
start of the 25-lap TQ main event before the red flag flew for Mark Janisch,
whose car flipped multiple times before making hard contact with the turn three
wall.
Green flag racing resumed and Ryan Tidman worked into the second spot and then
took the race lead from Sload. He continued to lead on lap nine over Sload, Jeff
Kot, Matt Janisch and Robin Johnston.
Johnston moved into third and then brought out the yellow flag when he
experienced mechanical problems on lap 22.
Green flag racing resumed and Tidman remained untouchable, as he took the
victory over Kot, Alison Cumens, Austin Fehr and Sload.
Heat race wins went to Ryan Tidman and Buddy Sload.

Skyline Speedway Results 6-10-11 FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Garnes, Smith, Bond, Emmelhainz, Mayle take Skyline Wins! 6-10-11
Another big Field turns out for Adkins Memorial
By Scott Wolfe
STEWART, OHIO-Thunder echoed in the foothills, but the rains held off as a
nearly full grandstand and ninety-six of the region's finest drivers filed into
Billy Jarrell's Skyline Speedway, where veteran outlaw Danny Smith pulled off
the OVSCA Sprint win and Chris Garnes claimed the AMRA Late Model bout. In the
Four Cylinder Special--Gene Adkins Memorial Race-- young Tyler Emmelhainz in the
Gene Adkins/Pink Panther tribute car claimed the big win, while Kenny Johnson
held off Andy Bond for the AMRA modified victory and Cole Mayle captured the
Mike's Auto Body Mini-Wedges.
Dennis Adkins set fast time in the FWD Four Cylinders, then dueled door-to-door with Cousin Tommy Adkins for the first ten laps of the feature. Both are cousins and nephews of the late Gene Adkins, who was memorialized in Friday's event. On lap 11 Dennis appeared to have blown a radiator hose after a pass attempt high on the outside.
The race went green to lap 15 when a caution for debris slowed the field when Tommy Adkins and a lapped car made contact. Adkins was a half track ahead at the time, but his misfortunes grew as a flat tire sidelined him from the remainder of the event. Emmelhainz, who had just secured second from a hard-charging Kevin McKenzie, inherited the lead and blasted onward to the win. Ironically, Emmelhainz is the Grandson of the late Gene Adkins.
Denzil Barker was in the running for the win most of the race, while Tony Plaugher and George Klintworth joined David Banks and Chris Lauer with worthy charges. Rounding out the top ten were Tyler Emmelhainz, Kevin McKenzie, Denzil Barker, Jr., Tony Plaugher, George Klintworth, David Banks, Chris Lauer, Jeff Blanton, Barry Kitts, and John Rankin. Rankin was the hard-charger advancing six positions, while Klintworth advanced five.
In the first 4-cyl heat Keith Marlow, a hard charger fighting for position, got the worse end of a three-car tangle that sent him headlong into and over the wall. A Higher Power prevailed as only minor injuries occurred in the scary encounter.
In the OVSCA 410 sprint main, Danny Smith's Maxim/J&D Engines/Coors light #4 was the cream of the crop, but not withstanding a race-ending battle from young charger Cole Duncan. Smith had blitzed to an early lead, but from lap 12 on Duncan began to reel him in. Jimmy Stinson was right with Duncan much of the way.
Chris Myers had a great run going with a steady fifth well at hand when his mount struck the wall, then tumbled end-over-end and out of the ball park on the back chute. The nasty spill left his mount worse for the wear, but Myers was O.K. Two laps later, Jimmy Nier and Mitchell Harble made contact and Nier flipped several times exiting turn four. He too emerged without injury.
That set a five-lap shootout to the finish. Duncan jumped the cushion on the initial start. lost some ground, and had to scramble to catch Smith. Duncan closed the gap, but the crafty Smith held on for his second Skyline win and third win in a row.
Rounding out the top ten were Danny Smith, Cole Duncan, Jimmy Stinson, Kory Crabtree, Aaron Higgins, Mitch Harble, Dave Dickson, Josh Davis, Nathan Skaggs, and Brian Benson. Aaron Higgins was the race hard charger in a 13th to 5th run, while Brian Benson came from 16th to tenth.
In the AMRA late model main Chris Garnes and Racin' Jason Montgomery pounded the clay to starter Todd Gorrell's green flag. The battle for first was hot and heated until Garnes' Swartz/Extreme Chassis/ Cornett Powered #42 began to pull away. Rod Conley, last week's winner, rekindled a feud with young Colten Burdette for third. In the 10-lap qualifying heat the duo battled side-by-side for the entire race with 15 lead changes. Burdette deservingly won that battle, but this time Conley prevailed.
With Garnes clicking off the laps, Conley now challenged Montgomery hard for second. Only one caution flew in the 25-lap event that saw Garnes win by a hefty margin. Rod Conley anchored second over Montgomery, while Colten Burdette, Freddie Carpenter, Ralph Withem, Dan Morrison, KC Burdette, Bub Crum, and Larry Bond rounded out the top ten. The race hard-charger was K-C Burdette who came from 14th to 8th.
The star-studded AMRA Modified main saw Robbie Evans edge Jesse Hartman on the start. That set an early tango between Evans, Hartman, and defending AMRA champ Kenny Johnson. Evans led the first few markers before Johnson broke free from the rest of the pack and charged to the victory. The great driving was reflected in a caution free, green-to-checkered run that saw the last checkered flag fall at 11:30 (despite three significant red flag delays on the evening).
Mike McPherson, Robert Garnes, and Chris Stotts had steady charges through the pack. McPherson, Andy Bond and Johnson all were right there at the finish. McPherson and Stotts each picked up nine positions to share hard Charging honors with great runs. Johnson, Andy Bond, Mike McPherson, Robbie Evans, Robert Garnes, Roy Roush, Chris Stotts, Jess Hartman, Rick Venham, Jr., and Tommy Powell rounded out the top ten.
Cole Mayle won his second straight Mike's Auto Body Mini-Wedge main. He was followed by Martin Gibson, Jr., Corey DeLancey, Zach Carr, Kasey Rankin, Samantha Roush, and Jason Gillian.
Next week, June 17 is the Father's Day Special where all Dad's get in for just $10. Mom and kids are asked to treat Dad to this special bargain price and a night at the races. Kids 12 and under are free! Coming June 24 is the 3rd Annual Greg Schilling Memorial, while the next night is the Road Warrior Challenge at I-77, a big two-day deal.
Skyline will also host the first leg of a
giant Fourth of July Weekend event for the OVSCA sprint cars. The three-day deal
has a 3-day ticket package for just $30 to see three days of racing (July 1,
Skyline; July 2, Ohio Valley; and Sunday, July 3 at I-77 Motorsports Park). More
details are to come. For more information please contact <<

NAPA AUTO PARTS THUNDER ON THE HILL NEWS
Grandview Speedway 2011. . . . . .
NAPA AUTO PARTS THUNDER ON THE HILL RACING SERIES TO REACH 100TH EVENT MILESTONE
ON TUESDAY, JUNE 28, ADULT ADMISSION JUST $20
Who would have thought we would reach 100 ?
The first Thunder on the Hill Racing Series event took place in 1990 at the
Grandview Speedway, and without a doubt, the show was wildly successful. A
sellout crowd filled the Grandview Speedway to watch Stevie Smith take the very
first checker flag in an event, that soon turned into a series. The transition
from a race to a series evolved and grew in popularity, mainly as a result of
offering unique and different novelty type racing event. Thunder on the Hill
made its name by being anything but the same old show, changing over time to
provide race fans something new and different to enjoy.
The Series reached outside the circle of what race fans could see on a regular
Saturday night program, bringing together combinations of 410 sprints and
modifieds, luring the CRA (California Racing Association) Sprints to Grandview
along with the SCRA Sprints, WoO Sprints, All Star Sprints, DIRT Modifieds, USAC
Wingless Sprints, URC Sprints, ARDC Midgets, WoO Late Models, ROC Modifieds and
Sportsman, 358 Sprints and a host of other support classes. To make one event
even more unique is when Thunder on the Hill introduced the Features Only
format, brining five premier divisions together, at one track on the same night,
running just a five feature events on one racing program without the qualifying.
The fans remain the key ingredient to the success of the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder
on the Hill Racing Series. A twenty-two year tradition still stands with the
always chilling feature parade lap fireworks display, the Inside/Out Promotion
where fans can watch a warm-up session from the infield, the Rhyme Time
Competition where fans can write a rhyme about their favorite or, not so
favorite drivers. Joe the Pizza Dude adds a touch of fun, the live singing of
the National Anthem, number give aways items and of course, race fans are always
welcome to join in with the always joyous victory lane celebrations.
On Tuesday night, June 28, the Bruce Rogers/Bob Miller NAPA Auto Parts Thunder
on the Hill Racing Series will reach a milestone, as the 100th Thunder Series
event unfolds at the Grandview Speedway. To celebrate this night, it's only
fitting that the 410 sprints and the 358 Modifieds be the showcase divisions
that will offer a very attractive $20 adult general admission.
The 410 sprints will duke it out for 35 laps in chase of a $5,000 first place
prize as the 358 modifieds battle for 25 laps paying $2,500 to win and $255 just
to take the green in the feature event. The modified event is open to all
competitors and the weekly Grandview rules will apply.
Adult admission prices are $20, Children 6-11 are $5 and children under the age
of six will be admitted for free. The pit fee for this event will be just $25.

points earned. Scott Broughton is the current runner-up with 186 markers and
Dale Nottestad is third with 167 points earned. Sitting in fourth place is the
great Bobby Wilberg who has eanred 163 points and right behind Wilberg is Riddle
just one point behind Wilberg with 162 points earned. Ryan Goldade with 143,
Tyler Kelley with 139, Ty Majeski with 135 and Kevin Knuese with 117, are all
within striking distance as one good showing will change the outlook of the
points at this early point in the season.
The pairing of Riddle with Urban Force Racing in 2010 brought a great deal of
success to everyone in their initial season of competing together as a team and
the instant chemistry and friendship shared by everyone involved with the team
has put the newly developed R&R Motorsports Team front and center with the
student manned racing team. The plan remains for the team to go after two series
titles in 2011 with the Madison International Speedway Late Model Title and the
Big 8 Series Title the goals the team will be seeking to claim at the end of the
season. The initial season of the successful pairing in 2010 had Riddle
finishing third in the final points tally for the season at the Madison
International Speedway and just 21 points shy of the point title captured by
Jeremy Miller, who defeated Bobby Wilberg by a single digit to claim the
speedway title. The finish made it two times in succession that Zack wound up
third in the final tallies, but his consistent runs in 2010 and gave Zack an
outside chance for the title on the final night of competition at the speedway.
In limited appearances in Big 8 Series competition, Zack finished a respectable
12th place in the final standings but will be looking to compete in all events
in the upcoming 2011 racing season.
Zack Riddle has raised the bar in his career each step of the way as he began
his racing career in 2000 at the age of ten in the go kart divisions and raced
with them successfully until the end of the 2003 racing season. In 2004, Riddle
took his first ride in a Late Model type race car and ran an aborted season,
competing in just six events at the Madison International Speedway. Riddle began
to run the Late Model division as a regular in 2005 and has been a fixture at
the speedway ever since, winning his first feature at MIS in 2006. When the
Madison track ran Super Late Models in 2008, Riddle was selected as the Rookie
of the Year in the now defunct division. Riddle was also named the fan's
favorite driver in 2009, a title he also captured in 2006 and adding to his
"Showtime" nickname.
While Urban Force Racing now makes the transition to R&R Motorsports Team, the
group enjoyed a great history in motorsports since launching the initial program
in 2007 and has sought to improve upon their marks each succeeding year in
racing. Team Manager Pete Raskovic moves into a new role as co-owner of the race
team along with Crew Chief Steve Riddle. Raskovic who with the late ABC Supply
owner Ken Hendricks was able to forge ahead with the launching of the initial
program, has been the mainstay of the student oriented racing team is quite
proud of the success of the many students who have been educated within the
Urban Force Racing Team program.
The unique concept of teaching students the inner workings of a race car along
with all of the technical background in automotive technology, sets the Urban
Force program apart from the typical normal school day. The students are hands
on and work with a purpose as the program is the model for similar technical
programs across the country. The new student team for the 2011 racing season
consists Michael Raskovic, Jesse Tanner and Bryant Williams and the students
will be paired with the existing R&R/Urban Force Team members that include Team
Manager Pete Raskovic, Crew Chief Steve Riddle, Wes Arndt, Brett Guschinki,
County Judge James Beer. Sponsorship for the new R&R Motorsports Team is
provided by Diane Hendricks at ABC Supply Co. Additional sponsorship support
comes from Homberg Inc., Morgan Shoes, Keystone Farms Natural Cheese, Welders
Supply Company, GA Motorsports Media and CARQUEST Gasoline Alley, Vince's
Italian Restaurante, Big Radio WEKZ, Monroe WI.

NEWS FROM JERRY HIGBIE RACING
GOSHEN, NY-- Jerry Higbie Captures OCFS Modified Elimination Event And a Fourth
Place Finish Along With a Sixth Place At Accord
By: Steve Pados, GA Motorsports Media
Modified superstar Jerry Higbie drove his Big Block powered Modified from an
eleventh place starting position to nail down a sixth place finish at the Accord
Speedway last Friday evening and followed up the performance with a fourth place
finish the following evening at the Orange County Fair Speedway and in the
process captured the Modified elimination challenge with the top ten Modified
drivers in the current points going to war in one lap shootouts until there is a
just one remaining to claim the $500.00 prize posted by the speedway. The solid
finishes have Jerry remaining in the two speedway point chases at both Accord
and OCFS and the points battles are shaping up to be nail-biters with the many
top quality drivers competing at the New York facilities. Jerry is seeking his
third consecutive title at the tough Accord Speedway facility and fourth overall
and will be gunning for his third consecutive OCFS Big Block title in 2011.
Michael Sabia took the early lead of the Accord feature run and utilized his Big
Block power until a caution brought the field to a halt. On the restart, Sabia
chose to fire from the inside lane with Richard Smith moving in along of him for
the restart. Smith fired on all of the cylinders he blasted by Sabia on the
restart and grabbed up some huge chunks of real estate on his way to his first
win of the season at Accord and second career win in the Modifieds. Sabia ran an
excellent race to finish in the runner-up role and did a great job of staving
off the advances of the legendary Brett Hearn for half of the race. Hearn
finished in third place with Danny Creeden in fourth and Mike Ricci rallying for
a fifth place finish. Jerry Higbie was sixth with Jeff Heotzler, Robbie Green,
Clinton Mills and Richie Eurich completing the top ten
The updated points at Accord continue to show Brett Hearn as the point leader
with 356 points. Jerry Higbie is the runner-up with 338 tallies. Danny Creeden
continued his great work and is third in the standings with 323 points. Mike
Ricci is fourth with 308 markers and Jeff Heotzler moved into the top five with
275 points. Danny Tyler heads up the second five with 272 points and Richie
Eurich is close behind with 265 tallies. Richard Smith with 262, Justin Holland
with 242 and Michael Storms with 232 complete the current top ten in points.
Chris Whitehead captured the win at the OCFS facility on Saturday evening. He
was followed by Cliff Ehrman, Mike Ruggiero, Jerry Higbie and Steve Dodd to
complete the top five. Tommy Meier, Joe Morel, Bob McGannon, Donnie Wilson and
Richie Eurich completed the top ten. Jerry watched from the sidelines as Mike
Kolka klocked off seven straight elimination wins and Jerry went out and
defeated Kolka and proceeded to defeat Tommy Meier to win the elimination
challenge. The updated points picture for the 2011 OCFS driving title now show
Tommy Meier out front with 274 tallies. Jerry Higbie is in the runner-up
position with 267 points just seven points in arrears to Meier. Steve Dodd moves
into third place in points with 247 and is just four points ahead of fourth
place man Richie Eurich who has earned 243 markers. Chris Whitehead moves into
the top five with 233 points. Jack Brown with 230 points, Craig Mitchell with
220points, Chris Shultz with 218 markers, Jeremy Markle with 217 and Donnie
Wilson with 210 complete the top point earners at this point in the season.
With a whirlwind of activity at the Higbie Race Shops, Jerry continues on with a
decisive plan with his approach to the 2011 racing season. As previously noted,
Jerry is racing at OCFS in a recently spawned chassis of Higbie design for
competition at the hard clay oval. For competition at the Accord Speedway, Jerry
will be utilizing a 2009 Bicknell chassis and there will be a third car in the
works for competition out at some of the select open shows throughout the
Northeast. Power for the race cars will come from the well-noted Precision
Engine Shops with big block power for work at both racing facilities.
The Higbie Family owned signature numbered 97 cars have been missing at the
speedway for the past couple of seasons but the large and loyal contingent of
Higbie racing fans are delighted to see the famous and popular race cars working
the racing surface hard in quest of more victories and more championships.
Long-time Higbie sponsors Shaver Construction, Beaverkill Trout Hatchery, Mr K's
Carpet Service, Hutchings Insurance, Behrent's Speed Center, SKJ Towing, Bada
Bing Pizza and GA Motorsports Media will be assisting the Higbie Racing Team
efforts.
A new chapter in the history of Higbie Racing will unfold later in the season
when Jerry's Son Cody takes the wheel of the Junior Slingshot that was purchased
and refurbished for Cody so he can begin his racing career at the Accord
Speedway on Wednesday evenings when Midweek Madness commences at the speedway.
Cody is eight years old and is looking forward to his initial runs with the car
that will carry the number 83 when it appears at the speedways.
Higbie's business, Hig-Fab, has been super busy throughout the off-season but is
currently making appointments for race cars to be refurbished for the season as
the 2011 racing season. With sponsorship dollars dwindling, many of the racers
are seeking to stay within the restraints of their tightening racing budgets so
many of the racers have opted to retain their current equipment and have the
experts with the Hig-Fab Team perform their magic to update the race cars. The
Hig-Fab shop is ready, willing and able to serve your racing needs whether it be
an entire new body or just new body pieces. The Hig-Fab shop can do frame
repairs or front and rear clips and can supply new bumpers for any Chassis car
racing on the circuit, including Slingshots and Micro Sprints. Scaling of the
race cars and Performance shock work is all done in-house. For more information
regarding the services and capabilities of the highly trained Hig-Fab Staff,
please contact the shop at: 845 294 0898. Don't wait to have your race car
updated or re-skinned for the next racing season, the time to prepare for the
new season is now. Hit the tracks running as the experts at Hig-Fab can
eliminate your worries for a great looking and great handling race car.

BOBBY AND DANNY VARIN RACING NEWS
Sharon Springs, NY- Danny Varin Scores First Career Modified Win At Fonda
Speedway
By: Steve Pados, GA Motorsports Media
Promising second generation Modified talent Danny Varin scored his first ever
Modified win last week at the Fonda Speedway as the twenty year old speedster
from Sharon Springs, New York has fast hot rod under him as he seized the point
on lap eleven and never looked back to score a resounding triumph over a top
notch Modified field that included his Dad racing Legend and six time Modified
champion at Bobby Varin. For the younger Varin the win lifted a big burden off
his shoulders as he has been a competitive force all season but one flat tire
after another has placed him on the sidelines at one time or another throughout
the early portion of the 2011 racing season. The win actually gives Danny two
wins on the season as he powered the Cuomo Sprinter to a season opening victory
at the Fonda Speedway as well. This one was for all of the marbles as Danny had
been seeking the elusive first Modified win ever since he began pounding the
Fonda cushion a couple of seasons ago. Bobby Varin saw a big weekend come his
way as well as he scored big during the weekend of racing activities with a
third place run at Glen Ridge on Friday night while finishing fourth behind a
trio of hot rods at Fonda on Saturday night and finishing off the weekend with
another fourth place finish at the Utica Rome Speedway on Sunday evening. Bobby
then kicked off this week with a 13th place finish at Penn Can Speedway on
Tuesday night and then moving to Fonda for a special show last evening that was
eventually postponed until August 10th.
At the Glen Ridge Speedway on Friday night as Bobby started the feature main
from 9th position. The first 22-laps ran off with a caution and Bobby was
hanging out in fifth place when the caution lights came on. On the restart Booby
moved into the fourth position and added another spot before the checkered flag
fell on the event with Paul Kinney winning his second event of the season over
current point leader Kenny Tremont and Bobby Varin. Jack Brown was fourth with
Jamike Sowle rounding out the top five. The current updated season point
standings continue to shuffle but still showing Kenny Tremont holding on to the
point lead by a fourteen point margin over Jack Brown who has scored 440 points
to date. Craig Hanson slipped to third place with 438 points while Bobby Varin
remains fourth with 405 markers. Jamike Sowle has moved into the top five with
379 points and the remainder of the top ten is Elmo Reckner, Paul Kinney, Lance
Willix, Don Ronca and Mike Ronca following in that order.
Danny Varin began the Modified feature at Fonda from fourth starting position
while Dad Bobby began from 10th starting spot. Danny moved into third on lap two
and slipped by Robert Perry on lap four to become the runner-up. Danny moved
high and low on the racetrack to find the racing lane he wanted and finally
nailed down the bottom and successfully made the winning pass off of turn two on
lap eleven. Once in the lead Danny moved out to a comfort zone for about seven
laps until he hit lapped traffic. At that point Bobby had made significant gains
through the field and all of the front runners were beginning to close in on
Danny. Once Danny cleared the lapped cars he again drove away from the field and
went on to record his first monumental Modified triumph at the "Home of
Champions". Mark Kislowski was the runner-up in his best run to date with Craig
Hanson in third Bobby Varin in fourth and Josh Hohenforst rounding out the top
five. The second five consisted of Jeff Trombley, Matt DeLorenzo, Ronnie
Johnson, Rayn Odasz and Timmy Fuller.
Bobby Varin continues to lead in the points chase with 258 points scored thus
far into the season. Ronnie Johnson is the runner-up with 229 tallies and Matt
DeLorenzo moved to third with 216 points earned. Alton Palmer is fourth with 214
markers and Ryan Odasz completes the top five with 204 tallies. Jeff
Trombley,Mark Kislowski, Elmo Reckner, Josh Hohenforst and AJ Romano round out
the top ten and the win catapults Danny Varin to eleventh place in the current
point structure.
The Utica Rome event on Sunday evening found Bobby starting from 13th starting
spot. Bobby was on the move early but the field strung out and made for tougher
passing as the laps clicked off. By lap nineteen Bobby had moved into seventh
place and two laps later moved into sixth place. A couple of laps later Bobby
cracked the top five with a good move and added another spot before the event
was checkered with Stewart Friesen claiming the win with Ted Lamb scoring the
tunner-up slot. Willy Decker was third Bobby Varin fourth and Pat Ward in fifth
to complete the top five. The current point standings at Utica Rome show Stewart
Friesen leading by a narrow margin over Bobby Varin leading with a 162 to 160
point spread. Pat Ward is third with 154 tallies and Willy Decker is fourth with
150 points. Ronnie Johnson completes the top five with 144 markers. Jason Rood,
Todd Burley, Ted Lamb, Alan Johnson and Paul Jensen complete the top ten in
points.
Bobby is geared and ready to defend the Fonda track title he captured for the
sixth time in his illustrious career in 2010. Bobby will be going after his
fourth title in a row at Fonda and once again will be steering the famous 00
race cars of legendary car owner Dave Cruickshank and his Dover Brake business.
Cruickshank has two cars readied for Bobby for the 2011 season with both of the
race cars coming out of the Bicknell shops and powered by JPM motors. The team
will concentrate on two nights of competition with Bobby set to defend his
championship crown from a season ago at Fonda and seeking to gain the elusive
championship crown at Utica Rome. Bobby led the points battle at Utica Rome for
most of the past season until a couple of mechanical failures late in the season
stifled his chances for the 2010 title. Son Danny will return to the seat of the
Ed Monger owned Magsarus sponsored hot rod. Danny had a pervious stint in the
race car two seasons ago. The race machine is out of the Teo Shops and will
carry a Gary Waters powerplant to supply the power to the rear wheels. Danny
raced hard all of last season and remained in the top five in points for most of
the campaign until he too was bitten by mechanical failures that dropped him to
eleventh place when the points chase ended.
Bobby will once again be aboard the Marv Pedrick/Andy Romano owned racer for his
battles at Glen Ridge. A new race car out of the Bicknell Shops will have a
selection of Pat Morrison or Jeff Boyd powerplants to choose from for the racing
action and the car may be utilized for select additional events later in the
season. Bobby will join forces with Ken Saya and the Commercial Roofing Team for
all big shows and the ROC Dirt Series. A brand new race car was in place for the
team at Syracuse and was later utilized for the Eastern States race at Orange
County and World Finals races at Charlotte where Bobby landed a pair of sixth
place finishes on National TV. Another Bicknell car is in the stable and will
compliment the team with Morrison and Kevlar powerplants supplying the go-power.
Bobby has also enjoyed his entry into the world of sprint car racing and once
again will find the Pete Demitraszek sprinter available to him for select
excursions where Bobby can pull off double duty at the facilities. Danny Varin
tried his hand at sprint car racing last season and enjoyed his time in the seat
and he too will find some time behind the wheel of the 305 Cuomo Sprinter at
select events in the area.
Bobby has enjoyed a great career in the annals of racing. He is a past winner of
the season ending classic Eastern States event held at the Orange County Fair
Speedway having won the event in 2003 with a spectacular performance to claim
the victory, a win that remains high on the list of achievements in the
illustrious career of Bobby Varin. Bobby has also captured two New Yorker
triumphs in recent years at the Utica Rome Speedway. In 2008 Bobby won the event
in a 200 lap version and this past year won again this time leading every lap in
a shortened version 100-lap grind in the curtain closer at the speedway. Even
larger for Bobby in 2011 will be a couple of benchmarks in his racing career.
Bobby currently ranks in seventh place among the all-time features winners at
the Fonda Fairgrounds with 47 wins having surpassed the legendary Bill Wimble
this past season who owned 43 wins to his credit. Former Fonda greats Mike
Romano with 48 wins, Pete Corey with 50 wins and Kenny Shoemaker with 54 wins
are next in line and Bobby is hoping for a stellar season to slide past this
legendary trio of great competitors.
The Varin team continues to seek the same winning formula for success they
enjoyed in 2010. The car owner for the Varin Team is the legendary Dave
Cruickshank and the hard working team is headed up by Crew Chief John Bakuzonis,
and crew members Dave Cross, Jeff Preston, Tyler Preston, Jack Hanna, Bob Gray
and Garret Sagatis. With additional cars in the stable for Varin with the
Commercial Roofing entry and the Romano/Pedrick machine, the 2011 season ahead
will be full of racing excitement from beginning to end.
The Varin Family credits much of their success to their fine group of sponsors
who continue to support their racing efforts. Dover Brake, Joe Bertothy Racing,
JSB Fabrications, Countryman CARQUEST, Land Designs, Supply Wagon Rentals,
Corigliano Towing, Leslie Home Improvement, GA Motorsports Media and Boys Club
of America have all been solid in their support of the Varin racing efforts and
encourage the racing community to support all of these fine sponsors whenever
they have the capacity to do so. The Varin Team also welcomes new sponsor Jeff
Bristol Trucking to the fine list of sponsors for the team. Bobby and Danny
Varin would like to thank their their loyal fan base for the strong support in
the past and look for continued support into the 2011 racing season and beyond.
More updates will follow shortly for the Varin Racing team efforts. Follow the
success of the 00 and 93 Varin Racing Team at their respective websites with all

ACCORD SPEEDWAY NEWS
Accord, NY - Accord Speedway Kicks-Off Mid Week Madness With Successful Opening
Show
By: Steve Pados, Accord Speedway Media
Unlike a season ago when Mother Nature prevailed with the upper hand for two
consecutive Wednesday evenings, promoters Gary and Donna Palmer launched the
opening event of the mid-week racing series at the Accord Speedway in splendid
fashion. The fabulous summer in the Catskills weather created a picture perfect
setting as close to 90 competitors filled the pit area with competitors from a
six state surrounding area and one transfer student from Mexico performing their
magic for the nice opening night crowd on hand. The opening night action
showcased the new racing format that was generated over the winter months as
many new divisions of racing have been included for the the 2011 edition of the
quick-hitting Wednesday night shows. Promoter Gary Palmer had his pristine
quarter-miler in perfect condition as the track surface was as smooth as glass
and as soft as cotton and the solid roster of driving talent provided for a
great evening of entertaining events. The opening event produced many winners
and while some of the names were victorious in the past at the speedway, some of
the new racers in action performed flawlessly to add their names to the Accord
history books.
Kenny Phillips captured the 0-50 Quad feature while a nail-biting battle kicked
off the 51-90 Quad feature as two of the top racers from a season continued
their battle with last ninght's show. The "Young Gasser" Griffin Robertson and
"The Little Torch" Melissa Torchio provided the early fireworks as the pair
raced side by side and nose to tail throughout the event. The outcome came down
to the final turn and race to the finish line with Robertson glued to
high-middle racing channel and Torchio going for broke by challenging the top
shelf of the raceway. Robertson, who led throughout the event was not able to
fend off the challenges of Torchio as the "L:Ittle Torch" captured the win by a
thread and enjoy a trip to the Lucas Oil Products Winners Circle. Dylan Dworak
led from start to finish in the 51-90 Mod Quad encounter event as Michael Dworak
suffered from engine problems at the midway point of the event and limped to the
finish line as the runner-up. .
Blake Hulseapple captured the initial Kid's Kart feature attraction. Emily
Huston captured the Kart Lite main event over Chad Cooper and Paul Wilson while
Gary Huston captured the Kart Heavy feature and Tanner Correia captured the
Junior Sportsman main. A selection of Quads came prepared to go racing and
Richard Jarvis led from start to finish to capture the inital win over Darren
McKosco and Robert Grajnecki. Mike Houghtaling captured the initial Bandolero
main event over Jared Palmer. Rick Casario captured the 270 main in his Thermco
sponsored racer making it two wins a row for him as he was triumphant at the
Hamlin Speedway last Saturday evening as well. Jacob Hendershot took the lead at
the drop of the green flag to score a 600 Micro win over Bruce Leote, Tennessee
resident Terry Finney and Shelby Ogazaly who was taking her first competitive
laps in a 600 race car. Keystone stater Jim Black continued his success at the
speedway with a wire to wire triumph over "The Communcator" Matthew Gaughan and
Dustin Black in the Legneds division main event. It wasn't an easy win for Black
as the youngster Gaughan conties to top brass his way around the outer reaches
of the Accord Speedway playing surface.
Slingshot racing action was hot and heavy as two-time Jr Slingshot driving
champion "The Gunslinger" Jesse Leiby overtook early leader Tyler Pirone by the
midway point of the feature and then had to hold off a determined Pirone and
Robbie Hocker to secure the victory in a hard fought shoot-out to establish the
battle grounds at the speedway. The exciting action was non-stop from start to
finish as the speedy little bullets found all of the racing lanes attractive to
them and utilized all of them to present an exhilarating run for the roses.
Leiby, Pirone and Hocker were the top three finishers with Sportsman star Tyler
Boniface twisting the wheel of a Dubois owned Slingshot to claim fourth place
and defending track champion Jim Babb completing the top five.
Rookie Slingshot action found second generation hot foot Jared Labagh taking his
first laps around the Accord Speedway and dominating the action to record the
win over Carly Dippel and Matthew Shultz and that set the stage for the exciting
Junior Slingshots feature billing. Bullville, New York star Tommy Zwart, who
came into the night's action riding on a recent win at the Hamlin Speedway last
Friday evening, grabbed the lead at the start of the event and then spent the
remainder of the event fending off the advances of fellow hot shots Tyler
Johnston and Chris Kurtz as the trio drove away from the quality field of talent
to cross the line in a photo finish in one of the best Junior Slingshot events a
racing fan could ever witness. Zwart, in his Chessari Construction bullet, was
the winner with Johnston in the runner-up role in his Shawn's Auto Repair
sponsored hot rod and Kurtz settling for third place in his CK
Transportation/S&S Speedways sponsored mount. "The Flash" Bobby Flood raced to
fourht place in his All-Seasons Fule sponsored hot rod and the much improved Leo
Fotopolous raced to a top five finish in his Sidewalk Trip Repair sponsored
speed buggy. Twelve Junior Slingshots were on hand for the initial event and
word from the pit area was many more Junior drivers were looking to add their
names to the Accord roster in the next few weeks.
Junior Four Cylinder excitment commenced with Steve Schmitz battling it out with
early leader Kyle Welsh before seizing control of the event to win a close
battle over Welsh. The Four Cylinder Seniors took the to the speedway with some
International flavor by having Formula 2000 talent "Chi Chi" Enscarone enter the
competition for the evening. Enscarone is a transfer student who is sitting out
the racing season in his home country to devote more time to his studies but
meandered onto the grounds at the speedway and wound up with a ride for the
evening. Alan Houghtaling captured the win for the dual overhead cam division
while Mike Travis used every inch of the Accord real estate to carve out a win
in the single overhead cam nite-cap. Travis won over Gary O'Donnell, Sarah
Bohlin, Walt Henry and the traveling man Enscarone who had trouble adjusting to
the primarily stock built race car. Enscarone had to make a quick call to his
car owner in Mexico Felix Pirandez to receive permission to compete in last
night's racing activities at the speedway and Enscarone vowed to return to the
speedway if he can find another ride on one of his off-nights from class
Midweek Madness will continue from June 15th until August 31st every Wednesday.
Gates open at the speedway at 5 PM with Hot Laps scheduled for 6:45. Racing is
to start at 7:15 PM. Admission for the Wednesday shows is just $5.00 and the
great concession stand is open throughout the racing card.
Friday night racing at Accord runs from April through September with six great
divisions going to war on the Accord high banks. This week Arkel Motoers will
serve as the headline sponsor for the evening's events and will feature the five
regular divisions at the speedway plus the return of the Legends division and a
special qualifying event for the "Friends of Mike" event to be held at the New
Egypt Speedway. Admission for the great racing action remains the same from a
season ago as Adults (12+) will be $12.00; Children (11 and under) will be
$3.00. The Family Value Pack that was met with much success last season is once
again offered and is: 2 Adults, 2 Children, and $20.00 in food vouchers for
$40.00, a savings of $10.00 to the consumer. Pit Gates open at the speedway at
4:30 and Spectator Gates open at 5. Hot laps kick off at 6:30 and the racing is
slated to start at 7 PM.
Big offerings are in store for the racing fans in the upcoming weeks at the
speedway. July 1st will find the fireworks expert "Wild Bill" back in the house
to unleash his special brand of magic to the skies over the Accord facility with
his one of a kind light show and fireworks extravaganza. The event will mark the
eleventh time that Wild Bill will be making his dynamire appearance at the
speedway. The now famous Chicken BBQ will compliment the speedway's salute to
Independence Day. Come early and enjoy the always spectacular racing and the
great food the speedway is noted for.

interest in returning for the upcoming Round 2 on Sunday, June 26th at the New
Egypt Speedway. They currently sit atop the point standings with Mark Naftzinger
and Jim Watkins rounding out the top 3 for the 6 & 8 cylinders with Justin Dunn
and Scott Dunn looking to improve on their 2nd and 3rd place finishes in the 4
cylinder class.
Both classes are run together, but scored separately and this has provided some
good racing within each class as Tom Wolf, Rick Latza and Detweiler all ran
close during the early stages of the 100 lap main. The 4 cylinder's were really
bunched up until Crosby's Saturn set sail after lap 80 and was never headed.
The dual direction planned for the Enduro races has been scrapped, due to safety
reasons, both on the speedway and within the drivers compartment with only a
single wrap seat not keeping the drivers secure if heading clockwise.
Payout is done by car counts with a minimum of 10 cars for the big class paying
200 to win. The 4 cylinders will be based the same way.
Starting spots are taken by receipt of the GAE Entry Forms. We get your entry
form 1st,you are on the pole.

set at $55.

K-C to host $5 Fan Appreciation Night
Announces Redraw Procedures
CHILLICOTHE, OHIO-This Saturday night, June 11 is $5 night at Schraders’ K-C
Raceway where “Fan Appreciation Night” will be observed. Special offers
including the great savings in admission hopes to bring back the family
atmosphere to one of the nation’s most highly touted speedways.
Besides the $1,500 to win/$250 start payout in the 410 sprints, each driver of the Top 10 finishers in the A Main of the Sprint feature will also get a FREE Goodyear tire.
Schrader’s K-C Raceway, in an effort to make racing more competitive for the fans, will implement a new re-draw format for classes that take time trials. This week, June 11, both the Goodyear 410 Sprint Cars and Advanced Services AMRA Modifieds will take time trials. Hobby Stocks will pill draw and will not be a part of the qualifying or redraw this week.
To make racing more interesting, on unsanctioned, regular race-night shows
the Open Wheelers will qualify on 410 Sprint night (sprints and modifieds). On
the nights Late Models race, the Hobby Stocks and Late Models will qualify and
the Modifieds would not. On given nights only open wheel cars qualify and on the
other given nights only full bodied cars will time trial.
Said owner Jeff Schrader, “Back in the pack we have had the typical 2 or
three-wide racing that K-C is known for. A couple times the top five cars,
however, checked out. Our fans have overwhelmingly asked that we have some type
of invert. They want to see passing. They want to see someone come from back in
the pack. They want to see good racing. We hope the new system brings that.”
“Besides fine tuning the great racing K-C already has to offer, this also gives our Modified drivers a chance to qualify, and in getting to do so, put them on equal ground with drivers that are used to qualifying for Road Warrior shows or the DTWC,” said Race Director Scott Wolfe. “That one lap can make or break our drivers in the big show and that was something we wanted to address.”
“It’s the best of both worlds really. Those who qualify well can hone their talents and try to earn a good starting spot. On pill draw nights it’s the luck of the draw and the fast guy might be on the tail.”
This also holds true for the Hobby Stock drivers, who occasionally will get a chance to qualify.
“I have always said that our K-C Modified drivers and our Hobby Stock drivers are among the best in the nation. They can race with anybody,” added Wolfe.
“In the sprint car and late model ranks, over the years we have seen our
guys graduate to the All-Stars or the World of Outlaws. Additionally, we have
many truly great drivers that choose to just run locally and support us every
week. We have a lot of talented guys racing here. If you strap on the helmet and
buckle up at K-C, you’ve got guts and have earned my respect.”
The heat races will invert the top four positions in each heat. In other words
the fast qualifier would start fourth in the first heat. The second fast
qualifier would start fourth in the second heat, etc.
The feature redraw will typically be six cars, but if there is an
extremely large field then up to, but no more than eight cars will redraw. (See
format below)
“Logically, if a guy wins the first heat and passed all the cars in his heat,
then odds are he will stay in front of them in the feature,” said Schrader.
“This still could happen, but there is a one in six chance that same driver will
have to at least pass someone. This is what we hope for.”
We will have to print out the initial line-up according to heat finishes
then manually write in the re-draw.
Only redraws will be on classes that qualify.
Original Feature line up as per heat finish
