The Gunther Hard Charger award will go to the driver that gains the most positions in the Saturday night NASCAR 358 Modified feature race from official starting position to official finishing position.
Former Late Model racing standout Jeff Teets and his Salvage Transport Co. will post a $25 cash Hard Charger award for competitors in the Saturday night Late Model feature. Again the cash will go to the driver able to gain the most positions from official starting position to official finishing position.
Already in place is the T.P. CARRYING T.P. TRAILER DECAL WILL EARN FEATURE WINNERS EXTRA CASH AT GRANDVIEW
SPEEDWAY IN 2012
BECHTELSVILLE, PA March 8, 2012 . . . T.P. Trailers of Limerick, PA has signed
on as a major sponsor at NASCAR sanctioned Grandview Speedway for the 2012
racing season.
The sponsorship from T.P. Trailers will put $250 more in the winner’s pay envelope for the NASCAR 358 Modified feature each Saturday night. In addition the winner of each Sportsman feature and Late Model feature will earn an additional $100 courtesy of the Limerick based trailer dealer.
With the increase the winner of a regular Saturday night NASCAR 358 Modified feature race will now earn $2750 as long as there is an easily visible T.P. Trailers decal on each side of the car. The Late Model feature winner will earn $900 and the Sportsman winner takes home $700 again provided the decals are in place.
It is important that racers understand that the bonus cash will only be paid to the feature winners as long as they have clearly visible T.P. Trailers decals on both sides of their race cars. The bonus money will be paid with checks sent from the T.P. Trailers offices.
“For many years, the T.P. Trailer family has been involved in the Grandview Speedway experience attending the races with our children, as well as sponsoring different teams.
Watching the growth of Grandview, we thought it would be exciting to try a new presence, which holds the opportunity for more teams to benefit, by giving each driver in 358 Modifieds, Late Models and Sportsman at Grandview a chance to get a little bonus when they cross into the winner’s circle. It might help to offset their costs in this economy, and honestly, it is good for T.P. as well,” said T.P. co-owner Tommy Perkins.
T.P. has been in operation more than 50 years. They offer every kind of open and enclosed trailers including those for racecars, motorcycles, cargo, utility, equipment and much more. In addition they offer rental and sales of snow removal equipment.
Portable storage is another division of T.P. Trailers which includes ground level containers, mobile field offices and storage trailers. T.P. also offers Truck and Trailer maintenance, repair and parts division on-site offering PA and DOT state inspections, hitches, wheel alignments and more.
T.P. also offers daily, weekly and monthly trailer rentals for that last minute emergency, long-planned vacation or weekend landscaper.
In return for their support of Saturday night NASCAR stock car racing TP
Trailers will receive an 8 x 16 billboard in the third turn of the
one-third-mile, banked clay track, a sponsorship night (date to be announced),
adverting in the track magazine (the Grandview Groove) and promotional
announcements throughout the season plus other benefits.
Opportunities for marketing through motorsports at Grandview are presently
available and include track magazine and billboard advertising, award and event
sponsorships plus more. A color brochure is available from Ernie Saxton
Communications, Inc. at 215.752.7797 or e-mail
Esaxton144@aol.com.
The 2012 season opens on Saturday, March 31st at noon with a free-to-the-public practice session that will feature all divisions of competition. Following the practice session there will be racing for the NEETS Enduros and the Blast From the Past Vintage Stock Car Club racers. NASCAR 358 Modifieds, Late Models and Sportsman will be featured in Saturday tripleheaders starting on April 7th at 7 p.m. That will be the first opportunity for racers to win the TP Trailers winner bonus provided the TP Trailers decals are properly displayed on the race cars.
The Sunday Small Car Series, featuring 270 and 600 micros, Slingshots and 600 Modifieds, will kick off on Sunday, April 22nd at 2 p.m.
410 sprints and 358 Modifieds will be the featured attractions when the Thunder on the Hill midweek series of racing events kicks off on Wednesday, May 23.
The two biggest events of the season will be the Forrest Rogers Memorial
presented by Pioneer Pole Buildings on August 11th paying $20,000 to win
(provided the winner is a regular competitor at the track) and the 50th
anniversary BPG Racing Freedom 76 Modified Classic paying $50,000 to win on
September 15th (rain date is September 22nd).

During one six week period, August 11th through September 15th, it is possible; a racer on a hot streak could walk off with at least $80,000.
How does that happen? The Forrest Rogers Memorial presented by Pioneer Pole Buildings, a 50-lap race for Modifieds that remembers the man who built the track, is set for Saturday, August 11th and pays $20,000 to win for a Grandview Speedway regular. Non-regulars will race for $10,000 to win.

WHITMOYER JOINS GROWING LIST OF SPORTSMAN RACERS PLANNING TO COMPETE AT
GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY IN 2012
BECHTELSVILLE, PA February 9, 2011 . . . One way or another Craig Whitmoyer was
planning to race at Grandview Speedway in 2012. When it was announced that
Sportsman stock cars would be a weekly attraction, along with NASCAR 358
Modifieds and Late Models, Whitmoyer was ecstatic.
The first tripleheader show of the 2012 season, kicking off the 50th anniversary season, takes place on Saturday, April 7th at 7 p.m. A free-to-the-public practice session is set for Saturday, March 31st at noon and is open to all divisions of competition.
“My plan was to race 358 Modifieds at Grandview and that would have been quite expensive,” said the Hamburg, PA racer. “Now that they are running Sportsman I can race there weekly and it will cost me a lot less money.”
Whitmoyer is one of the top talents in Sportsman racing with a total of five wins in 2011 with one coming in a special midweek event as part of the Thunder on the Hill Series at Grandview.
“Now I will have the opportunity to gain some much needed experience at Grandview while racing the Sportsman and then switch to the 358 Modifieds in 2013,” said the 36 year old married father of three (two boys and a girl). “I have a lot of Modified equipment ready but this will allow me to build up more equipment and be ready for the Modified effort next season.”
Whitmoyer, who lost a hand in a work related accident when he was 17, has always liked Grandview and has enjoyed racing there a few times over the years.
“I think it is a good idea to have Sportsman at Grandview,” Whitmoyer commented. “I just hope they keep a close eye on the beating and banging on the track and keep it under control.
“None of us can really afford to do it (racing) and we seem to lose our minds when it comes to spending to do it. Less beating and banging on the track would make for better racing and more affordable racing.”
Whitmoyer pretty much operates his racing team out of his own pocket. He is employed as an operations manager for Green Acres Outdoor Living with locations in Whitehall and Easton. He figures that it will cost him $300 a week to race the Sportsman and is hoping that prize money will offset the expenses but things don’t always work out that way in auto racing.
Sponsorship support comes from friends and relatives who have businesses such as Engle’s Frame & Body in Ephrata, Roadrunner Race Fuels in Mohnton, Premium Mechanical in Sinking Springs, Dave Dissinger’s Oak Hill Farms, Hoffman Speed Supply in New Tripoli, Shiley Fabrications and Snyder’s Web Design.
Whitmoyer will be fielding a 2007 Bicknell racer with power coming from a Morgantini Race Engine. He has a few good people to work on his race car, all volunteers, including Matt Strunk (not related to Jeff Strunk), Jake Warnich, Kody Sites, brother Brandon and his dad Mike.
His plan at present is to start out the season running Sportsman at Grandview and at Big Diamond Speedway on Friday nights. He wants to switch over later in the season to racing a 358 Modified at Diamond.
Craig will also be spending time with his 8 year old son Devon who is
quite an accomplished PeeWee Kart racer at Shellhammer’s Speedway. He had eight
wins in the 2011 season.
Whitmoyer will be one of the top talents to watch in the Saturday night
Sportsman racing action at Grandview Speedway. The list of racers planning to be
part of the Sportsman competition continues to grow as the season moves closer.
Racers planning to be part of the Sportsman action, and have not done so already, are asked to be in touch with Tina Rogers at TMMO327@DEJAZZD.COM with car number, home town, e-mail address and transponder number. This will make opening day run a lot smoother.
Again in 2012 Jeff Strunk will be shooting for another title in the NASCAR 358 Modifieds, his 10th, and Chuck Schutz will be shooting for his sixth NASCAR Late Model championship.
Grandview Speedway has season tickets available that include reserved seats for all the Saturday night events and are priced at just $325, a considerable savings over individual event ticket prices. For information telephone 610.754.7688.
Information on marketing through motorsports (billboards, sponsorship nights and track magazine advertising) is available from Ernie Saxton Communications, Inc. at Esaxton144@aol.com or telephone 267.934.7286.
The one-third-mile, banked clay track is located on Passmore Road, just
off Route 100, in Bechtelsville, PA, 10 miles north of Pottstown.
-End-
MEDIA REMINDER: Any media that are planning to cover events at Grandview
Speedway on a regular basis are asked to be in touch with me to arrange a season
media credential. We appreciate your support of racing at Grandview. Ernie

FREE-TO-THE-PUBLIC PRACTICE SET FOR MARCH 31 AT GRANDVIEW
SAIL PANELS OPTIONAL ON SPORTSMAN UNTIL MAY 1
BECHTELSVILLE, PA January 28, 2012 . . . Variety may be the keynote word for
racing at Grandview Speedway in 2012.
The recently released schedule of events, kicking off with a free-to-the-public practice session at noon on Saturday, March 31st, will offer a variety of different types of motorsports as the 50th anniversary season goes on.
The practice session is expected to attract everything from Modifieds to Enduro cars.
The NASCAR 358 Modifieds, long the main Saturday night attraction at the NASCAR sanctioned one-third-mile, clay banked oval, will be back as the Saturday night primary attraction. And the Late Models, a long time popular part of racing at Grandview, will continue to be a regular Saturday night attraction.
New this year is the addition of the Sportsman class of competition. Specs will be based closely to those used at other area tracks. To help fans identify the Sportsman race cars that closely resemble the 358 Modifieds the Sportsman will be allowed to run sail panels. This will be optional until May 1 when sail panels will become mandatory.
The sail panels must be 65 inches from the ground to the top of the panel
and the back edge of the sail panel extends no farther than the edge of rear
spoiler.
There will be no sail panels on the NASCAR 358 Modifieds.
Questions relating to the Sportsman can be addressed to Harvey Endslinger at groundhog43@comcast.net or telephone 570.617.5816.
It has also been announced that a driver will not be able to run more than one division on any race night.
The chase for the point titles will kick off on Saturday, April 7th at 7 p.m. with 358 Modifieds, Late Models and Sportsman stock cars. Adult admission for the regular shows will be just $15 while young people under 12 will be admitted free for the regular events.
All three regular divisions will have their own point fund.
Everyone entering the pits will be required to have a NASCAR license with the primary division drivers (Modifieds) paying $195 for a 2012 license while all others will pay $90. NASCAR license applications are available at the various mall shows that the track is participating in or telephone (610)754.7688.
Each division champion will receive a custom created ring at the annual awards banquet at the end of the season in addition to the point money.
Each championship winning driver in Modifieds, Late Models and Sportsman will be entitled to free pit admission for the next season.
The 2012 NASCAR 358 Modified champion and a guest will be part of the 50th Anniversary Reunion Cruise (nine days departing Bayonne, NJ on November 24th). 2011 champion Jeff Strunk and his guest will be part of the cruise. More details on being a part of this final championship cruise, already more than 80 people signed on, can be had from Marilyn Saxton at 215.752.2392.
The complete schedule of events for 2012 can be found at www.grandviewspeedway.com. Fans and racers will see that the schedule includes a wide variety of racing including, in addition to modifieds, late models and sportsman, the 23rd season of Thunder on the Hill events, the first season of Blast from the Past Vintage cars, NEETS Enduros, and the Small Car Series featuring 270 and 600cc micro sprints, 600 Modifieds and Slingshots.
Topping the 50th anniversary season is the BPG Racing Freedom 76 for Modifieds on September 15th paying an astounding $50,000 to win and the Forrest Rogers Memorial presented by Pioneer Pole Buildings on August 11th, a 50 lapper for Modifieds, paying $20,000 to win for a track regular and $10,000 to win for a track visitor.

VARIETY OF RACING EVENTS AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY IN 2012
FORREST ROGERS MEMORIAL MOVED TO AUGUST 11
BECHTELSVILLE, PA January 8, 2011 . . . . One of the busiest racing schedules in
the 50 season history of Grandview Speedway has been announced by track owner
Bruce Rogers.
With more than 40 events planned fans will be treated to a variety of auto racing with the season set to kick off on Saturday, March 31st with the annual free-to-the-public practice session open to all divisions of racing competition. On that same day, at 6 p.m. the NEETS Enduro racers will kick off their season.
As in the past the NASCAR 358 Modifieds and Late Models will continue to be the main attraction on Saturday nights at the one-third-mile, banked clay speedway. However this year Sportsman stock cars have been added as a regular attraction to the Saturday night shows making for a tripleheader card of racing. The first tripleheader show is set for Saturday, April 7th at 7:00 p.m. Adult admission for the regular tripleheader shows will be just $15 while youngsters 11 and under will be able to attend for FREE. Unlike many sporting events Grandview Speedway continues to offer FREE parking on the speedway grounds.
As the track celebrates its 50 anniversary season a number of special events have been announced. The biggest event of the season will be the $50,000 to win BPG Racing Modified Classic on Saturday, September 15th.
Just recently announced was the Forrest Rogers Memorial Presented by Pioneer Pole Buildings which will pay $20,000 to win for a racer who appears regularly at Grandview and $10,000 to win for a visitor. The event had been announced as taking place on Saturday, August 18th but has been moved to August 11th.
“In reviewing the past history of the track it was discovered that the first race at Grandview was presented on August 11, 1963 so we decided one of our biggest events of the season should be moved to August 11th, ‘ said Rogers. “My father, Forrest Rogers, opened this track on that date 50 years ago. We apologize for any confusion and inconvenience caused by announcing earlier that the race would take place on August 18th.”
The second event of the season, April 14th, will feature a 50-lapper for the NASCAR 358 Modifieds as the 50th anniversary season gets into high gear. The Late Models and Sportsman will be part of that special night also.
Again this season there are several Bob Miller/Bruce Rogers Thunder on the Hill mid-week promotions presented with the first event taking place on Wednesday, May 23rd and will feature the Keystone Cup 410 Sprints and 358 Modifieds. Fourth other Thunder promotions will be presented during the season.
The NEETS Enduros will be featured eight times, on Sundays, during the
season with seven of those shows also including the new Blast from the Past
Vintage Stock Car Club.
New this year will be six Small Car Series events being presented on Sundays
starting on April 22nd and featuring 270 and 600 Micro Sprints, Slingshots and
600 Modifieds. The events are being promoted by Pete Knappenberger.
The 50th anniversary season closes out on Saturday, November 17th with the annual awards banquet at the Gilbertsville, PA Fire Co. Social Hall.
