MOTORSPORTS 2010 HEADS BACK TO ITS ROOTS  Gambler’s Classic Indoor Race Returning To Atlantic City

OAKS, PA March 16, 2009 . . . Motorsports 2010, the largest race car and trade show of its type in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region, will leave Atlantic  City, N.J., and take place at the new Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in  Oaks, Pa. next year.

Show organizer Len Sammons has announced that the 25th anniversary edition of the show, filling all 220,000 square feet of the Expo   Center, will open on Friday, January 22 and continue through Sunday,  January 24, 2010. The event, having attracted many of the major names  in the sport over the years will once again offer just about  everything imaginable in motorsports.

Importantly, the Len Sammons Motorsports-produced Gambler’s Classic  Indoor Auto racing events will continue to take place at Atlantic
City’s Boardwalk Hall. Those very popular races, featuring the Three-  Quarter (TQ) Midgets, will now follow the Motorsports show on the  calendar. The races will now be held one week later, on Friday and  Saturday nights, January 29 and 30, 2010. The new Expo Center in Oaks has gained rave reviews from show  operators and show attendees since opening just a short time ago. Expo Center  management is continuing to make improvements in the facility. More  than 4,000 free on-site parking spaces and increased floor space will  be available by the end of this summer, in plenty of time for  Motorsports 2010.

“We are going full circle with the show,” said event organizer Len  Sammons. “When the Motorsports event was started 24 years ago, it was  located just five miles up the road from Oaks at the Valley Forge  Convention Center. The first show filled less than 50,000 square  feet  of space, but soon out grew the Valley Forge location. The show then  moved to the larger Fort Washington Convention Center, also in  Pennsylvania and a short distance away, until it was closed for  business development in 2006. The Motorsports show has been held the  last three years at N.J.’s Atlantic City Convention Center.

“Now, the new building in Oaks has allowed us to return to our roots  in the Philadelphia area, just in time for our 25th anniversary event!” The show will return to a three-day format with exact hours of  operation to be announced. Additional show information will be  announced in the near future.

“The news of the show moving back to an area it was held for 21 years  should created a lot of excitement,” Sammons said. “The change in venue featuring a  more central location should spirit tremendous interest from  exhibitors and attendees.”

Exhibitors who participated in the 2009 show will have the first  chance to reserve their booth space location for the 25th annual show.  The deadline for renewal reservations will be May 15th. An event brochure  will be in the mail in the next two weeks to previous exhibitors. It  will also be available at the event web-site, aarn.com or by calling  the show office at (609)-888-3618.

Len Sammons Productions has also confirmed that after a very  successful debut of indoor racing at the Dunkin’ Donuts Arena in  Providence, R.I., a date is also being confirmed for a return to that  venue. And, a third Indoor Auto Racing event is being considered. Additional information on any Len Sammons promoted events, including  Motorsports 2010 and the indoor races, are available at aarn.com, by  calling 609-888-3618, or by email at motorsports@aarn.com

CAR SHOW RETURNS TO COVENTRY MALL FOR FIRST TIME IN 20 YEARS

POTTSTOWN, PA February 13, 2009 . . . For the first time in 20 years race cars will grace the Coventry Mall in Pottstown, PA as part of the first Paradise Road Slot Car Raceway Car Show. The show, organized by long time local short track auto racing supporter Scott Hoffmaster, will run from Friday, March 6th through Sunday, March 8th.

“The mall management is really excited about this show and if call goes well they hope to make this an annual event as it was some years back,” said Hoffmaster. “My goals with putting this show together are to promote local dirt track racing and to give drivers another opportunity to promote their sponsors.”

The entry list for the show continues to grow each day with entries ranging from late model stock cars to modifieds, micro sprints, 600 modifieds, midgets and vintage cars.

With NASCAR sanctioned Grandview Speedway just a few miles up the road from the mall there will be a lot of attention given the successful short track that is entering its 47th year of operation. The Grandview Speedway display will be at center court with 2008 late model champion Chuck Schutz and 2008 NASCAR modified champion Jeff Strunk being featured. Fans will be able to pick up the 2009 schedule and racers will be able to get their NASCAR license applications at the show.

Grandview opens their season with a free-to-the-public practice session on Saturday, March 28th at noon.

The Montgomery County Quarter Midget Club, with their track located in nearby Phoenixville, PA, will be a big part of the show.
Paradise Road Slot Car Raceway, located in Bechtelsville, PA, will sponsor the show and have a display featuring their scale slot cars. More information can be had on the raceway at www.paradiseroadslotcar.com.  They will also sponsor the best appearing awards for the show.

Hoffmaster continues to seek entries for the show. The show is unique in that there is no entry fee being charged for those racers wanting to display their race cars. Hoffmaster can be contacted at conventrymallrcs@yahoo.com

The Coventry Mall is located on Route 724 in Pottstown, PA just a short distance from Grandview Speedway.
