BILLY PAUCH SCORES IMPRESSIVE ATLANTIC CITY INDOOR WIN ATLANTIC CITY, NJ –
January 17, 2008 . . . Billy Pauch has scored well over 600 feature wins in his
career.
And Friday night at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall, Pauch of Frenchtown, N.J.,
added one to his stellar list as he claimed the TQ Midget/600 cc Micro Sprint
feature, which served as a preliminary for Saturday night’s Gambler’s Classic.
It was Pauch’s second career win indoors at Atlantic City. He has a previous win
in a 20-lap feature.
This time, though, Pauch beat one of the best on the indoor circuit as Lou Cicconi Jr., who became the first driver to break the eight-second bracket in Thursday’s qualifying, finished in the second spot.
“Lou is always tough at these indoor races,” Pauch said. “Boy, we sure did make
a race out of it.”
Actually, Pauch was the talk of the night.
At the start of the first heat race, Pauch was involved in a first turn
skirmish, which ended with his car upside down. The car was rolled on its wheels
and Pauch proceeded to complete the main event, earning a feature-qualifying
spot in the process.
Pauch started in the third position behind front-row starters Rudy Boetticher
and Jeff Heotzler.
He ran in second until a lap three restart, which found Heotzler regaining the
runner-up spot. It was short-lived, as Pauch got a great start on the lap five
restart.
Boetticher got loose on the ninth round, which allowed Pauch to grab the top
spot.
Despite having the lead, it was far from over as Cicconi, who started sixth in
the 20-car field, moved into the runner-up spot on lap 12 and pressured Pauch
immediately.
A caution on lap 13 tightened the field and despite frequent attempts to get the
lead, Cicconi was unsuccessful.
Mike Lichty, in fact, got by Cicconi for the second position on lap 18, but
those spots were reversed on lap 23.
Cicconi made every threat to get the lead over the final two laps, but Pauch
didn’t waver in his victory.
Pauch can win the Behrent’s Bonus if he elects to start 12th in Saturday night’s
feature field and claims in the 40-lap Gambler’s Classic.
The top 12 finishers will draw for their starting positions during Saturday’s
Ms. Motorsports 2009 pageant, which is taking place at the AC Convention Center.
Cicconi, Heath Hehnly, Jon Holmquist, James Michael Friesen and Mike Tidaback
won heat races.
Nick Herriven, Andrew Berkholder, Norm Hynes and Tyler Robertson won heat races
for the Champ Karts.
Gary Hieber, Ricky Yetter and Billy Weaver won heat races for the Briggs and
Stratton Slingshots.
Action kicks up Saturday at 6:30 p.m. with Fanfest. The TQ/600 cc Micro Sprint
Eliminator is scheduled at 7:30, followed by four transfer races, Slingshot
feature, Champ Kart feature and the 40-lap Gambler’s Classic.
During the day on Saturday the huge Motorsports 2009 Race Car & Trade Show
continues at the nearby Atlantic City Convention Center. The shows opens at 10
a.m and continues until 7 p.m. Just about everything imaginable in motorsports
can be found at the show which includes FREE autograph sessions for top name
racers and personalities in the sport. The popular U.S. Tobacco Ms. Motorsports

RYAN TRUEX ADDS NAME TO GAMBLER’S CLASSIC ENTRY LIST
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ -JANUARY 10, 2009. . . New Jersey resident Ryan Truex is
returning to his roots for the Gambler’s Classic TQ Midget/600 cc Micro Sprint
event at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall on January 16-17.
Truex, the 16-year-old brother of NASCAR Sprint Cup start Martin Truex, will
drive an entry owned by Lou Cicconi Jr.
Cicconi, who will try to win his second Gambler’s Classic, has several TQ
Midgets in the field for drivers Bobby Santos III, Chris Stockham and Truex.
The entry list has nearly reached its 100-car maximum limit.
Truex has won numerous Legend Car events over the past years, including a
division title at Wall Twp. Speedway. He made his NASCAR Camping World Series
East debut last September at Stafford Motor Speedway in a Dale Earnhardt Inc.
Chevrolet, replacing Jeffrey Earnhardt in the car. He finished 11th in the race
after starting 15th in the field.
“He has some great talent,” said older brother Martin Truex Jr. last week. “He
knows what he wants and he is really hungry to get it.
“I will never forget the first time we took him to practice (in April) a Late
Model at Tri-County Speedway. It was the first time he was in a big car. He came
flying off turn four and was sideways. I thought, ‘here we go.’ Somehow, he
saved it and I am real proud of him.”
Truex is one of many driving stars on the entry lists. Defending NASCAR Whelen
Modified Tour champion Ted Christopher, two-time Gambler’s Classic winner Joey
Payne, last year’s winner Mike Tidaback and dirt Modified track champions Billy
Pauch (New Egypt Speedway) and Mike Iles (Bridgeport Speedway) are entries.
Cicconi, a recent indoor race winner in Indiana over Tony Stewart, and Santos,
the USAC Midget Turkey Night winner in Irwindale, Calif., are among the pre-race
favorites.
In addition to the TQ Midgets, the Briggs and Stratton Slingshots and Senior
Champ Carts will be added to card. Dirt Modified racers Rick Laubach and Ryan
Godown are part of the Slingshot entry list.
Friday's nights event will include qualifying races for all three divisions and
a 25 lap feature event for the TQ Midgets. Saturday night's program is
highlighted by feature events for all three divisions including the 40 lap
Gambler's Classic main event for the TQ Midgets.
Tickets for Friday and Saturday night programs are on sale through Ticketmaster
by calling: 1-800-736-1420 or online at:
http://www.ticketmaster.com/. They'll also be
available the day of the event at the Boardwalk Hall box office.
Time trials will be held on January 15 for all divisions. While the grandstand
will not be open to the public, fans with tickets for Friday and/or Saturday
(Jan. 16-17) can obtain a restricted Thursday-only pit pass, which will allow
them access to catch all of the pole-night activities.
Gambler’s Classic information is available online at:
http://www.aarn.com/. The Gambler’s
Classic is run in conjunction with the huge Motorsports 2009 Race Car & Trade
Show taking place at the Atlantic City Convention Center on January 16-17.

in motorsports along with many famous racers and personalities signing

LIQUID LOU ADDS BOBBY SANTOS III TO HIS ATLANTIC CITY TEAM
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ January 5, 2009 – Lou Cicconi Jr. has a few reasons to be
excited about the seventh annual Gambler’s Classic for TQ Midgets/600 cc Micro
Sprints at the Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall on Jan. 15-17.
In addition to fielding his own car for the prestigious indoor race, Cicconi of
Aston, Pa., will field a car for Bobby Santos III, a third-generation driver
from Franklin, Mass.
“His family is a friend of mind and I found out he was looking for a ride for
the Atlantic City race, so I asked him if he wanted to drive one of my cars,”
Cicconi said.
Santos has competed in events sanctioned by NASCAR, ARCA, USAC, NEMA, PRA, RoC
and QMA.
He most recently won a USAC-sanctioned race at Toyota Speedway in Irwindale,
Calif. This past season, Santos won several NEMA-sanctioned events throughout
the northeast.
Cicconi needs little introduction. His accomplishments read a mile long with
championships in various sanctioning bodies. He captured the 2006 edition of the
Gambler’s Classic after a spirited duel with ISMA standout Joey Payne.
“I enjoy the Atlantic City race,” Cicconi said. “As far as I am concerned, the
competition is second only to the Rumble Series race in Ft. Wayne, Ind.”
Speaking of the indoor Rumble Series race in Ft. Wayne, Cicconi won the main
event on December 28, beating out NASCAR Sprint Car Series driver and car owner
Tony Stewart.
“My car was excellent in that race,” Cicconi said about his uniquely-designed
Midget car, which was requested to be purchased by Stewart.
In the Atlantic City race, Cicconi will pilot a potent, brightly-colored No. 75
car, while Santos will drive a similarly-designed No. 57.
“Ideally, it would be good if we could finish one-two, but there is so much
competition at Atlantic City,” Cicconi said. “Plus, you never know what will
happen in the race.”
Cicconi knows all about bad luck when it comes to the indoor race.
In 2003, after a thrilling charge from the rear of the field in the feature, his
efforts ended by an unfortunate tangle. He set a track record, won a preliminary
feature but engine problems sidelined him for the main event in 2004.
Joining the TQ Midgets are the Briggs and Stratton Slingshots and Senior Champ
Carts.
Friday's nights event will include qualifying races for all three divisions and
a 25 lap feature event for the TQ Midgets. Saturday night's program is
highlighted by feature events for all three divisions including the 40 lap
Gambler's Classic main event for the TQ Midgets.
Also, lap sponsorship is now being taken for the feature events. Those wishing
to purchase lap sponsorship can do so by contacting the Area Auto Racing News
offices at 609-888-3618.
Tickets for Friday and Saturday night programs are on sale through Ticketmaster
by calling: 1-800-736-1420 or online at:
www.ticketmaster.com. They'll also be available the day of
the event at the Boardwalk Hall box office.
Gambler’s Classic information is available online at:

run in conjunction with the huge Motorsports 2009 Race Car & Trade Show taking
place at the Atlantic City Convention Center on January 16-17. The show offers

DALLENBACH, SR. AND HYLTON TO PLAY A MAJOR PART IN TRENTON SPEEDWAY TRIBUTE AT
MOTORSPORTS 2009
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ December 15, 2008 . . . Former New Jersey resident Wally
Dallenbach Sr. will be returning to his home state to participate in the Trenton
International Speedway Tribute that will be a major part of Motorsports 2009 at
Atlantic City’s Convention Center January 16-17th.
In the early-1960s, Dallenbach was a standout performer in the Modified stock
cars with many wins at the long-closed, half-mile paved Vineland Speedway,
located not far from Atlantic City. He took victories as well at New Jersey’s
Old Bridge Stadium and Wall Township Speedway. He then moved on to become a
popular competitor in Indianapolis car competition with multiple starts in the
Indianapolis 500. Among his wins on that circuit was the April 30, 1977 Indy Car
race at Trenton International Speedway. Dallenbach closed out his career in
motorsports working as competition director for the now defunct Championship
Auto Racing Teams sanctioning organization.
“Wally is looking forward to coming back to the Garden State and being part of
the show and the Trenton Speedway tribute,” said show organizer Len Sammons.
“Being part of the show will give Wally a chance to get back to visit some
friends and I am sure many of his friends and racing buddies will be visiting
with him at Motorsports 2009.”
Some show attendees may want to ask Wally about his 1965 season, when he raced
at Trenton Speedway and in other events under the name of Bob Dunham in the
United Racing Company (URC) Sprint Cars.
Joining Dallenbach as part of the Trenton International Speedway tribute will be
NASCAR stock car racing legend James Hylton. Just recently Hylton, 74 years old,
announced that he would be trying to qualify for the Daytona 500 NASCAR Sprint
Cup race in February.
Hylton has remained very active in the sport and just finished a full season of
competition on the ARCA RE/MAX circuit and he did compete on the NASCAR
Nationwide circuit.
Hylton did race in all six of the Northern 300 NASCAR Grand National (now Sprint
Cup) races run at Trenton. His best finishes were two fourth places, one in 1969
and again in 1971.
Both Hylton and Dallenbach should prove to be popular with attendees at the
Motorsports 2009 Race Car and Trade show. A special poster commemorating the
Trenton Speedway Tribute will be available with photos of Dallenbach, Hylton and
many others.
The Trenton Speedway Tribute will be a major part of the two day, January
16-17th, show which will also feature more than 250 race vehicles on display.
The show, will more than 400 exhibit spaces, will fill nearly 300,000 square
feet of the huge hall.
A number of national, local and regional racers will be on hand to meet fans and
sign autographs.
NASCAR Sprint Cup stars Kevin Harvick and Joey Logano will be signing autographs
as will NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion Johnny Benson. Drag racing
will be well represented by Top Fuel racer Antron Brown, Pro Stock racer Kenny
Koretsky, motorcycle drag racers Angie McBride and Matt Smith.
Several industry seminars will be available free to show attendees along with
track displays (2009 racing schedules available) and the always popular U.S.
Tobacco Ms. Motorsports competition.
And just down the street from the Motorsports 2009 show the Gambler’s Classic Indoor racing events will be presented at Boardwalk Hall each evening.
Complete details on all the events, ticket prices, discount lodging and more are
available at www.aarn.com.

features between Bridgeport Speedway (three) and New Egypt Speedway (four),

Koretsky at the show.

and anxious to talk about his new Truck ride for 2009. Joey Logano, replacing
Tony Stewart in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Home Depot No. 20, will be appearing as
will NASCAR Cup star Kevin Harvick.
In addition there will be a variety of local and regional auto racing stars
appearing at the show during the two days. The show opens at 11 a.m. on Friday,
January 16th and continues through until 7 p.m. on Saturday, January 17th.

that will run for both days of the show. Racing legends Wally Dallenbach Sr. and
James Hylton will be part of the tribute. Dallenbach, who raced at Wall
Township, NJ Speedway and then went on to race Indianapolis cars, was a New
Jersey resident but now lives in Basalt, Colorado. Hylton, 74 years old, is
still active in the sport and will be trying to qualify for the Daytona 500
NASCAR Sprint Cup race in February.
While the Motorsports 2009 show is taking place at the Convention Center the

BEHRENT’S BONUS COULD MAKE A.C. INDOOR CLASSIC WINNER EVEN RICHER
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ , December 10, 2008 . . . The seventh annual Gambler’s Classic
Indoor Auto Race at the Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall could make the TQ
Midget/600cc Micro Sprint winner $2,000 richer thanks to Behrent’s Performance
Warehouse.
Complimenting an already-thrilling program featured on the concrete floor of Boardwalk Hall on January 16-17, 2009, the Florida, N.Y.-based Behrent’s Performance Warehouse, owned by Jeff and Harry Behrent, will provide added money if a driver wins Friday and Saturday night’s “A” Main.
To be eligible for the $2,000 bonus, the feature winner from Friday night’s “A” Main must start the Saturday night feature from the 12th starting position and win.
However, that is not the only option available. If that driver elects to draw
for their starting spot, they will only get a $500 bonus if the sweep is
completed.
Drawing for the “A” Main starting spots will be done on the stage during the Ms.
Motorsports competition.
Paul Lotier Jr., who captured the Turkey Derby ATQMRA main at Wall Township, NJ
Speedway recently, is one of many top drivers who have filled entries for the
seventh annual event.
Slingshots and Champ Karts will also be in action during the two-day event,
which runs in conjunction with the Motorsports 2009 Race Car and Trade Show at
the nearby Atlantic City Convention Center.
“The Behrent’s Bonus will only add to the excitement and atmosphere surrounding
this event,” said event organizer Danny Sammons. “It will produce much pre-race
hype and lasting memories, plus it could make one driver a lot richer if he can
pull off the weekend sweep.”
Mike Tidaback of Little Falls, N.J., is the defending champion. He collected
more than $6,000 after leading the final half of the 40-lap main event on
Saturday evening.
For the first time in event history, time trials will be held on January 15 for
all divisions. While the grandstand will not be open to the public, fans with
tickets for Friday and/or Saturday (Jan. 16-17) can obtain a restricted
Thursday-only pit pass, which will allow them access to catch all of the
pole-night activities.
Friday's nights event will include qualifying races for all three divison and a
25 lap feature event for the TQ Midgets. Saturday night's program is highlighted
by feature events for all three divisions including the 40 lap Gambler's Classic
main event for the TQ Midgets.
Qualifying for Saturday night’s main event will be done in the following format.
The top 60 cars from Thursday night’s time trial sessions will compete in five
heat races on Friday. The top four from each event will advance to the Friday
night “A” Main, which pays $1,000 to the winner. The top 12 from Friday’s “A”
Main are guaranteed a spot in the Saturday night 40-lap Gambler’s Classic. Four
transfer races will be run on Saturday night to fill the remaining 12 spots.
Cars competing in these transfer races will include the non-qualified cars from
Friday’s heat races, finishers 13-20 from Friday’s “A” Main and four cars from
Saturday night’s Eliminator race.
The Eliminator race will take cars that qualified outside the top 60 in Thursday
night’s time trials. The Eliminator race is new this year and will be run under
a different format from any other race during the weekend. After five laps, the
competitor running last is eliminated. Additionally, any car that is involved in
any accident will be eliminated. This procedure will continue until four cars
remain and those four will earn the right to compete in Saturday’s transfer
races for a chance to make the Gambler’s Classic.
Tickets for Friday and Saturday night programs are on sale now by calling the
Area Auto Racing News office at: 609-888-3618 (please have a
MasterCard/Visa/American Express card ready). Also, tickets can be purchased
through Ticketmaster by calling: 1-800-736-1420 or online at:

NASCAR SPRINT CUP STAR KEVIN HARVICK WILL BE PART OF MOTORSPORTS 2009 RACE CAR &
TRADE SHOW AT A.C.
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ December 7, 2008 . . . One of the most popular and, perhaps,
one of the most controversial racers on the NASCAR Sprint Cup circuit is Kevin
Harvick and the NASCAR superstar will be appearing at the Motorsports 2009 Race
Car & Trade Show at the Atlantic City, NJ Convention Center. The show runs for
two days, January 16-17th, and Harvick, driver of the Shell/Pennzoil sponsored
Richard Childress owned Chevy, will be meeting fans and signing autographs on
Friday, January 16th.
The 33 year old (celebrating his birthday on December 8th) finished fourth in
the Sprint Cup Chase this season and enjoyed a good season with seven top 5s and
19 top 10s. He has 11 career victories including the 2007 Daytona 500.
Kevin and his wife Delana operate their own Nationwide and Camping World Truck
Series teams. During the 2008 season Ron Hornaday drove their No. 33 Chevy truck
to six wins and he was just nosed out for the title by Johnny Benson. The
Nationwide entry, with a variety of drivers, had 22 starts earning one pole but
no wins.
Harvick will be back with Richard Childress in 2009 as the Sprint Cup season
kicks off at Daytona in February. He and Delana will again field entries in the
Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series.
Harvick joins other NASCAR standouts such as Joey Logano and Johnny Benson at
Motorsports 2009. NASCAR Vice President of Corporate Communications Jim Hunter
will kick off the show on Friday, January 16th as the keynote speaker followed
by a question and answer session.
Just recently added to the impressive list of racers taking part in the show is
Chris Jones of Forest, Virginia. He is the driver of the LCS Motorsports #87
Camping World Series Truck. Jones is looking to run the full Camping World Truck
Series schedule pending sponsorship. He will be at the show both days and will
be signing autographs at four different times during the weekend.
More than 250 race vehicles representing just about all segments of motorsports
will be on display with more than 400 exhibitors offering just about everything
imaginable in motorsports.
Limited exhibitor space is still available for the show and details on
displaying can be had by telephoning Tim Hogue at 609.888.3618.
On the same dates as the Motorsports 2009 show is taking place at the Atlantic
City, NJ Convention Center the Gambler’s Classic Indoor Auto racing events will
be taking place at night at the nearby Boardwalk Hall. The Three Quarter
Midgets/600cc Micros will headline both nights along with Slingshot racers and
Champ Karts.
The two big events offer a great weekend of motorsports in Atlantic City.
Information on discount lodging is available at

For Laubach who is coming off a strong 2008 Modified season this will be a
first. “Rick is really fired up for this event” states Housworth. “Although he
has never driven a slingshot before, I know he will catch on quick and with the
time trial format this year we’re hoping to be fast right out of the trailer.
Hopefully we can have some fun and have a good weekend of racing down there”
says Jim.
Housworth has been running the slingshots for quite a few years now, has the
knowledge and ability to put his team up front no matter where he races. With
many wins and championships under his belt and the backing of great sponsors
like Ryan McNichol Lawn and Property Maintenance, NAPA Valley Auto Parts of
Ottsville, Pa., Ultimate Air Heating & Cooling of Kingwood, NJ, Pipersville,
Pa’s Gordon BEAM Vacuum Systems, S&S General Services LLC of Wysox, Pa.,
Leadfoot Performance of Riegelsville, Pa., Legends Designs and Graphics of
Flemington, NJ and Laubach’s Lightning Bodies and Race Components of Quakertown,
Pa., the team should be more than ready to go with two number 72 racers when the
green flag drops in AC.
All the action will take place on January 15, 16 &17, 2009 at the 7th annual
Gamblers Classic NJ Indoor Race which is run in conjunction with the Motorsports
Race Car and Trade Show held yearly at the Atlantic City Convention Center.
Along with the Slingshots, the AC race will feature the TQ/600’s and the popular
Champ Karts.

TRENTON INT’L SPEEDWAY TO BE REMEMBERED AT MOTORSPORTS 2009 RACE CAR & TRADE
SHOW IN A.C.
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ November 21, 2008. . . Gone but not forgotten is the famed
Trenton International Speedway which was located on the former New Jersey State
Fairgrounds in the capital city.
The track, which closed in 1980, offered everything from Indianapolis Cars, NASCAR Grand National (now Sprint Cup), Modified stock car, Midget and Sprint Car competition.
But, when the Motorsports 2009 Race Car & Trade Show is presented at the Atlantic City, NJ Convention Center, January 16 & 17th, Trenton International Speedway will again be in the spotlight as one of the key attractions of the weekend.
“In my younger years I spent a lot of time at the speedway. My family operated the souvenir concession,” said Motorsports 2009 produced Len Sammons. “It is a shame that there has been little or nothing done to remember what a great speedway it was. We are going to try to change that with our trip down ‘memory lane’ at our show.”
For the Motorsports 2009 weekend, many of the race cars that were seen in action at Trenton International Speedway will be on view. And, plans are in the works to have a number of the drivers and team members who participated there at the show to meet the fans.
Fans and racers are encouraged to bring Trenton-related
memorabilia such as scrapbooks, photos and raceday programs. And, the many
vintage racing clubs that annually participate in the show will have Trenton
Speedway as the theme for their displays.
Originally a dirt oval, Trenton became a one-mile paved track in the
mid-fifties. By the 1970s, until its final race, Trenton Speedway was a peanut
shaped one and one-half mile track. Overall, it produced some exciting racing
events throughout the years. Notable organizations such as NASCAR, USAC, ARDC
and URC sanctioned the events.
The final race run at Trenton was for the asphalt Modified stock cars, in June, 1980. That scheduled 134-lap event, which was called official after 79 circuits due to rain, was won by Geoff Bodine. Many time NASCAR Modified champion Richie Evans finished close behind with N.J.’s John Blewett Jr. third. Bodine ultimately became a Daytona 500 winner.
“Having worked there as the public relations director for several years I have a lot of fond memories and great stories,” said Motorsports 2009 public relations director Ernie Saxton. “It was indeed a great racing facility. I remember Jimmy Clark racing there and Janet Guthrie making what I believe was her initial run in an Indianapolis car at Trenton. It will be exciting to get a chance to see some of the old cars and the old timers that participated in events at Trenton.”
The fairgrounds and speedway location has since been turned into an industrial complex and is also the site of the New Jersey Sculpture Gardens and the very classy Ratz Restaurant.
More details on just how Trenton International Speedway will be remembered at Motorsports 2009 will be released in the very near future.
The Motorsports 2009 Race Car & Trade Show will fill close to 300,000 square feet of the Atlantic City Convention Center and will offer just about everything imaginable in motorsports. Attendees will have the opportunity to collect autographs from a variety of national and regional racing figures.
And as Motorsports 2009 takes place during the day on January 16th and 17th, the Gamblers Classic Indoor Auto Races will be take place at night at Atlantic City’s famous Boardwalk Hall.
Information on both events can be had at
www.aarn.com. Ticket information is also
available at the site or by telephoning 609.888.3618.

ASPHALT MODIFIED RACING STARS ENTER GAMBLER’S CLASSIC A.C INDOOR RACES
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ -November 19, 2008 . . . The road to Victory Lane in the
upcoming Gambler’s Classic Indoor Auto Races at the Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall
might go through the Asphalt Modified community.
Ted Christopher, who clinched his first career NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour title in October, and Erick Rudolph, the Dunn Tire Raceway Park SST champion, submitted their respective entries for the seventh annual event, which will take place on January 16-17, 2009.
Christopher, 50, of Plainville, CT, ended this season with 11 victories to his credit. Most recently, he won the SK Modified feature at the North/South Shootout at Concord Motorsports Park in Concord, N.C.
However, that win wasn’t the defining moment on Christopher’s season as he claimed the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour title at the Thompson International Speedway World Series on October 19.
This isn’t Christopher’s first foray in the Gambler’s Classic. He’s made three visits to the indoor event. He now co-owns his own car that he uses only at the annual January event. Last year he won a Roaring 20 preliminary race with the car and vows it will be even stronger this year.
Rudolph, 16, of Ransomville, N.Y., will bring versatility to the Atlantic City race.
In addition to his success on the pavement in Modified action, Rudolph won the Town Mechanical DIRTcar Sportsman feature at the New York State Fairgrounds in early October. It was his first career Sportsman start on the mile oval.
And Rudolph has extensive experience in the TQ Midgets, Mini Modifieds and Go Kart classes. Last year he turned 16 just prior to the event and was very fast in the feature event before mechanical problems knocked him from the race.
"We’re excited to have these two drivers entered for our event," said event organizer Danny Sammons. "Their presence will only add to the great tradition of the race. Teddy’s experience at Atlantic City will make a viable contender, and Erick’s indoor and Mini Modified success makes him a natural threat to become a first-time winner."
Mark Tidaback of Little Falls, N.J., is the defending champion. He left the event last year with more than $6,000 in his pocket after leading the final half of the 40- lap main event on Saturday evening.
For the first time in event history, time trials will be held on January 15 for all divisions. While the grandstand will not be open to the public, fans with tickets for Friday and/or Saturday (Jan. 16-17) can obtain a restricted Thursday-only pit pass, which will allow them access to catch all of the pole-night activities. Friday's nights event will include qualifying races along with a 25 lap feature event for the Three-Quarter Midgets. Saturday night's program is highlighted by feature events for all three divisions including the 40 lap Gambler's Classic main event for the Three-Quarter Midgetsl.
Tickets for Friday and Saturday night programs are on sale
now by calling the Area Auto Racing News office at: 609-888-3618 (please have a
MasterCard/Visa/American Express card ready).
Also, tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster by calling: 1-800-736-1420
or online at: www.ticketmaster.com.
Gambler’s Classic information is available online at:
www.aarn.com. The Gambler’s Classic is run in
conjunction with the huge Motorsports 2009 Race Car & Trade Show taking place at
the Atlantic City Convention Center on January 16-17. The show offers close to
300,000 square feet of just about everything imaginable in motorsports along
with many famous racers and personalities signing autographs.
The two events together make for a fantastic weekend of motorsports excitement
in Atlantic City, NJ.

ATLANTIC, CITY, NJ November 6, 2008… Mike Tidaback has submitted his entry to
defend his Gambler’s Classic Indoor Auto Race title at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk
Hall.
The seventh annual event is scheduled to take place on January 16-17, 2009, on the concrete floor, which was held in front of a near sold- out crowd last January.
Tidaback of Little Falls, N.J., left Atlantic City last year with more than $6,000 in his pocket after leading the final half of the 40- lap main event.
“This is a big race for us, because you run against the best
in the Northeast,” Tidaback said. “It’s like our Super Bowl.”
Tidaback, who defeated two-time winner Joey Payne of Fairlawn, N.J., became the
first American Three Quarter Midget Racing Association (ATQMRA) Series regular
to win the prestigious race.
Entry forms were sent to all race teams that entered the 2008 event. Entries are limited to the first 100 TQ Midgets/600 cc Micro Sprints, 40 Slingshots and 60 Senior Champ Karts.
Scott Campbell of Doylestown, Pa., is the first TQ driver to
file an entry.
Former Atlantic City Slingshot winner Jesse Hartman of Flemington,
N.J., was the first driver to enter that class. Hartman competes in the
Micro Sprint division during the outdoor season.
Rich Tobias Jr. of Hershey, Pa., is the defending Slingshot winner.
Tobias donated his AC race winnings to the National Fragile X Research
Foundation.
Tamie Smith of Binghamton, N.Y., was the first Senior Champ Kart entry. Smith
has been a qualifying event winner in Atlantic City in recent years, but she is
still searching for her first AC feature victory. Chris Daley of Pleasant
Valley, N.Y., came from 21st to win the division race last January.
“Last year’s races left the fans wanting more and we’ve
received a lot of interest from drivers who want to either return or make the
first-ever appearance in Atlantic City,” said event organizer Danny Sammons.

THE GOOD AND BAD OF THE ECONOMIC PICTURE TO BE DISCUSSED AS PART OF PROMOTER’S
SUMMIT
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ November 3, 2008 . . . When the second annual Promoter’s
Summit is presented as part of the Motorsports 2009 Race Car & Trade Show at
Atlantic City, NJ’s Convention Center, January 16 & 17, much of the attention
will be on the current economic situation.
“Many feel that the sluggish economy is actually good for local short track racing,” said Summit organizer Ernie Saxton. “We have heard from many promoters that their season just completed was a good one because of the economy and then there were those who had tough seasons.
“One of the many subjects that will be discussed at the
Promoter’s Summit is how promoters can benefit from the sluggish economy by
marketing to the local community. Sell the reasons locals should be coming out
to enjoy an inexpensive night at the local short track.”
The two day Summit which attracted more than 60 promoters and organization
officials last January is expected to attract an even stronger turnout this
January.
One of the most popular presentations was offered by Area Auto Racing News columnist Guy Smith who has attended events at more than 1100 facilities. He will again share his ideas for improvement of the sport with the attendees based on his years of being a fan of the sport and talking with other fans.
The Summit will include a “roundtable discussion” with all
attendees participating in this idea sharing and problem solving session.
Sponsorship will be another important subject covered as speedways and
organizations look for new revenue sources.
Other subjects being considered for the Summit include:
* Concession tips
* Website pointers (keeping it current is important)
* Working with ALL the media
* Working with the racers
* Promotion ideas that work
* What is working in sportswear and souvenirs?
* Program books can be profitable
And the list goes on.
“We welcome suggestions from promoters and organization officials as to what they would like to see discussed at the Summit,” said Saxton. “We want to be sure that we are covering the subjects that those attending are interested in. We want to send everyone home from the Summit with renewed enthusiasm for short track racing.”
Registrations are now being accepted for the two day Promoter’s Summit. In fact Todd Fisher of Susquehanna Speedway Park was first to submit his registration for the 2009 Summit. Each track or organization can have two representatives attend for just $100. That $100 can be used as an advertising credit in a future edition of Area Auto Racing News. The two representatives covered by the $100 will also receive free admission to Motorsports 2009 and the Friday night indoor auto racing events.
Each additional representative will be required to pay a $50
registration fee and that will include free admission to the show.
For more information please feel free to telephone Ernie Saxton at 215.752.7797
or e-mail Esaxton144@aol.com.
A registration packet will be sent upon request.
The Promoter’s Summit will be part of the Motorsports 2009
Race Car & Trade Show taking place at the Atlantic City, NJ Convention Center,
January 16 and 17th, 2009. In addition there will be three nights of indoor auto
racing at the nearby Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall, January 15, 16 and 17th.

NASCAR CRAFTSMAN TRUCK SERIES POINT LEADER JOHNNY BENSON SET FOR APPEARANCE AT
MOTORSPORTS 2009
Atlantic City, NJ October 23, 2008 . . . Current NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series
point leader Johnny Benson is set to join NASCAR Sprint Cup racer Joey Logano
making an appearance at the hugely popular Motorsports 2009 Race Car and Trade
Show. The show, filling close to 300,000 square feet of show space at the plush
Atlantic City Convention Center, is set to take place Friday and Saturday,
January 16-17, 2009.
Benson, a former NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series racer, is looking to win his first Craftsman Truck Series title this season. He finished third in the standings in 2007 and has been a runner-up in the standings.
The popular truck racer has won five truck events during the season.
Benson’s appearance at the 24th edition of the Motorsports Race Car and Trade Show will mark his first visit to the Len Sammons produced event since it moved to Atlantic City. The last time the veteran racer appeared at the Motorsports show was when he was driving the Pennzoil sponsored NASCAR Sprint Cup entry.
Benson will be visiting with fans and signing autographs at a time still to be determined but he will be at the show both days. Logano, driver of the Joe Gibbs Racing Home Depot #20 in 2009, will also be part of the show on both days.
More than 275 race cars are expected to be on display along with a large hardcore manufacturer’s section, collectible and general exhibit areas, free industry seminars, roundtable discussions, stage shows and much more. The show features something for everyone that has an interest in motorsports with more than 400 racing dealers participating in the show.
Again in 2009 autograph sessions featuring nationally famous
racing stars and personalities will be available to show attendees FREE.
New in 2009 will be a FREE Exhibitor’s Reception on Thursday, January 15th
running from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
In addition the second annual Promoter’s Summit will take place on both days. Registration information was just recently mailed to more than 400 speedways and racing organizations. The Summit will give race promoters, public relations people and others involved in local short track racing the opportunity to hear from a variety of speakers covering a wide range of subjects relating to short track promotion. More than 60 promoters from more than 10 states registered for the Summit earlier this year.
Complete information on the Summit may be had by telephoning Ernie Saxton at 215.752.7797
Again this year indoor auto racing, another Len Sammons Production, will be taking place on the nights of January 16th and 17th at the Boardwalk Hall located just a few blocks from the Convention Center.
The three events together make for an exciting fan friendly
weekend of motorsports entertainment in the popular resort city.
Information on Motorsports 2009 and the Gamblers Classic Indoor Auto Racing
events may be had by telephoning 609.888.3618 or check in at

“The Saturday night indoor races were very, very close to being a sell out last January and the strong advance sale for this year’s event indicates it could be a sell out,” said Sammons. “Motorsports attendance was up last year as well, especially on Saturday. We plan to expedite the process of ticket sales for the Motorsports Show by opening extra ticket windows during busy hours so that attendees are assured of getting into the event in a timely manner. Fans can also obtain tickets for both events (Motorsports 2009 and the Gamblers Classic Indoor Auto Racing events) in advance by telephoning 609.888.3618. The tickets would make great Christmas gifts.”'
There are still good exhibitor locations available for the show which is expected to be a record breaker with everyone looking to see what is new in the sport for 2009 and beyond. Telephone Tim Hogue at 609.888.3618 to reserve your spot.
Many of the exhibitors offer a variety of money saving show
specials.

TICKETS ON SALE AUGUST 20TH FOR INDOOR AUTO RACING AT ATLANTIC CITY’S BOARDWALK
HALL
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ August 8, 2008 . . . Race fans, don‘t be left outside for this
one. Tickets for the 7th Annual Gambler’s Classic for Three Quarter Midgets/600
cc Micro Sprints held inside Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ, will go on
sale Wednesday, August 20th at noon.
The races will be run Friday and Saturday evenings, January 16th and 17th, 2009
and will once again feature the TQ Midgets/600 Micro-Sprints, Tobias Slingshots
and Sr. Champ Karts.
Good seats are expected to sell-out quickly for this event, which runs in
conjunction with the huge Motorsports 2009 Race Car and Trade Show at the
Atlantic City Convention Center.
Tickets for the races will be available through all Ticketmaster outlets and
online at www.ticketmaster.com
or by calling the Area Auto Racing News office in Trenton, NJ at 609.888.3618
after noon on August 20th.
In an attempt to provide race fans with more options when selecting their seat
for the event, race management has added two new levels of seating, front-row
premium seating and upper level reserved seating for the 2009 running of the
Gambler’s Classic Atlantic City Indoor Races.
“The past two years we have sold out Saturday night’s reserved seating in
advance,” said race organizer Danny Sammons. “With the addition of the upper
level reserved seats, more fans will have the opportunity to purchase a reserved
seat for the event and not have to worry about finding a seat when they arrive.”
“The front row in Atlantic City is definitely the best place to take in all the
action and sold out within minutes of the tickets going on sale last year,”
continued Sammons. “By adding the premium seating options we are able to
distinguish the front row from the rest of the lower level reserved seats so
that those wanting the front row can select it.”
Another new addition to the Indoor Races this year will be a TQ Midget/600
Micro-Sprint A-Main event on Friday night paying $1,000 to the winner and
locking the top 12 finishers into Saturday night’s “Gambler’s Classic” A-Main.
The night will also feature qualifying races for the TQ/600 Micros, Slingshots
and Champ Karts.
Tickets for Friday night’s program are as follows: $27 (Premium seating), $22
(Lower-level reserved), $19 (Upper reserved), $17 (Adult general admission) and
$10 (Child-age 12 or younger).
Saturday night’s tickets are $30 (Premium seating), $25 (Lower-level reserved),
$22 (Upper reserved), $20 (Adult general admission) and $12 (Children age 12 or
younger).
Saturday’s schedule will be jam-packed with excitement, headlined by the
“Gambler’s Classic” A-Main for the TQ Midgets/600 Micro-Sprints. The TQ/Micro
Sprints will also compete in transfer races to fill out the all-star field. The
Slingshot and Champ Karts will run their highly-competitive A-Mains as well.
Plans for a Pole Night to be held on Thursday Night featuring practice and time
trials for all three divisions are currently in the works and details about
tickets will be released at a later date.
