RAIN STOPS URC RISLONE JACK GUNN MEMORIAL SATURDAY NIGHT AT SELINSGROVE
SPEEDWAY

A field of fifty-five sprint cars turned out for the 3rd Annual URC/358 Jack Gunn Memorial at the Selinsgrove Speedway on Saturday night. Unfortunately, after time trial qualifying, heavy rain moved into the area forcing the cancellation of this event. Selinsgrove Promoter Charlie Paige is to be commended for his efforts in trying to get this show into the books. Just prior to warm-ups, a round of showers dumped on the speedway but Paige, along with his outstanding track crew, managed to bring the track back into near perfect condition. Fifty-five sprint cars took time trials with a make-up of twenty-eight 360  (URC sprints) and 27 358 sprints. Just prior to the staging of heat race qualifying, the rain moved in again, forcing the cancellation.

At the completion of time trials, it was Davey Franek who set fast time of 18.280/104.298 mph. URC driver Randy West was second, stopping the clock at 18.290/104.241 mph. Making up the top ten in time trials was Blane Heimbach (358), Davey Sammons (URC), Dave Calaman (358), Ed Aikin (URC), Larry Kelleher (358), Curt Michael (URC), Becca Anderson (URC) and Robbie Stillwaggon (URC). Time trial results will stand (the same process URC followed last year when the William Grove event was cancelled after time trials because of rain) with the completion of this event taking place on Saturday night, July 19. To make-up for the lost show, a second Selinsgrove date for URC will be added on Saturday, August 9th. The URC Rislone/358 Jack Gunn Memorial on July 19 will pay  $3,500.

Looking ahead to the coming weekend, the URC Rislone Sprint Series will invade the Bridgeport Speedway on Saturday night, May 24 followed by a return visit to the Delaware International Speedway on Saturday night, May 31. Just three weeks out is the URC Rislone Sprint Nationals at the Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night, June 6. This event will pay $4,000 to the winner. Drivers and Owners are reminded that there is a pre-entry form for this event and you can find that on the URC web site under the competitors page. Please visit us at www.urcsprints.com

Former URC Champion Dave Kelly was at Selinsgrove Speedway taking in the URC action. URC is currently working on a Dave Kelly/Glenn Fitzcharles Night, possibly to take place at the Delaware International Speedway this summer. Without a doubt, Kelly and Fitzcharles are two of the most popular drivers in URC history and this night could be a real treat for the fans.

(QUICK NEWS)

MICHAEL RETURNS TO TOP OF THE LIST IN URC CHAMPIONSHIP CHASE FOR 2008

Curt Michael is a five time URC driver champion and has won the last  four consecutive titles with the United Racing Company.  Now driving for Bill Gallagher in the Valley Forge INC 5g, Michael has picked up rightwhere he left off at the end of 2007, he is once again leading the URC point chase.  Saturday night at the Delaware International Speedway, Michael won in convincing style, starting tenth then taking the lead on lap eleven to run uncontested for his thirty-sixth career URC win. "This win was for that man right there", said Michael as he pointed to car owner Bill Gallagher.   For many years, Gallagher provided URC with competitive race teams but has always come up just a little short of winning the URC championship.  In 2008, Michael hopes to give Bill Gallagher his first ever Owner Championship.  Michael was quick to point out that it is still very early in the season, but getting off to a good start is certainly in his favor.

Another driver looking very strong in the early going is Dave Ely who  won the URC opener on April 12 at Bridgeport.   Ely is currently second in the point chase with Trenton, NJ ace Mark Bitner sitting in a solid third place in the point chase.  Chris Coylenow driving the Chad Sinon BPG sponsored #4 finished sixth Saturday night at the Delaware International Speedway after qualifying through the consolation.

And still another early season success story in Robbie Stillwaggon.  Now ranked fifth in the point chase, Stillwaggon delivered a ninth place finish in the opener with a solid fifth place finish at Delaware International.    On the strength of two top ten finishes, Kyle Purks of Langhorne, PA is sixth in points followed by Randy West, Brian Seidel, Ed Aikin and Joey Biasi.   Aikin entered the feature event Saturday night by using a provisional starting spot.  Aikin started twenty-fifth and delivered a solid ninth place finish  in the feature event.  Joey Biasi the 2007 Co-Rookie of the Year finished third in the feature  Saturday night, moving him into the top ten in the Rislone URC point standing.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE---THANK YOU

Collett Disqualified in Post Race Teching. . . . .
CURT MICHAEL RETURNS TO URC WINNING WAYS IN BILL GALLAGHER OWNED SPRINT CAR SATURDAY NIGHT AT DELAWARE INTERNATIONAL

Five time defending URC Champion Curt Michael of Ocean View, DE was on a mission Saturday night as Taylor & Messick presented the Rislone URC Sprint Series at the Delaware International Speedway. Michael, driving the Valley Forge INC/Bill Gallagher owner 5g took the win in the twenty-five lap feature event to earn the $2,000 first prize money. This is just the second night for Michael in the 5g and without a doubt, he was quite impressive. Michael started tenth in the twenty-five car starting field, taking the lead on lap eleven. Once at the head of the pack, Michael was never challenged as he scored his first win of the new season for URC and his thirty-sixth career win. Randy West finished second followed by Joey Biasi, Brian Seidel and Robbie Stillwaggon. Justin Collett finished the race in fifth but was dis-qualified in post race teching due to an engine infraction.

A field of thirty-three URC Sprints turned out for the second event of 2008 with heat race victories going to Randy West, Joey Biasi and Mares Stellfox as JJ Grasso was the winner of the Don Ott "B" Main.

In the feature event, Randy West charged from his front row starting position to set the early pace with Joey Biasi and Seidel in the chase. By the second circuit, tenth place starter Curt Michael was already racing in fifth. One lap later, Michael moved into fourth, then on lap four the caution was displayed when Dave Betts came to a stop in turn three.

On the restart, West set the pace with Michael now in second. The battle between West and Michael went back-and-forth with Michael taking the lead on lap seven only to give the top spot back to West before crossing the line.

The second caution of the night was displayed when Davey Sammons spun (but continue to keeping running) on lap ten. However, the caution was thrown as a result of the spin. On the restart, Michael used the outside line to pass West for the final time in this event.

Curt Michael took the lead on lap eleven followed by West, Biasi, Justin Collett and Brian Seidel. The top five remained the same as the field cross the wire at the halfway point of the race. Also on the move was Robbie Stillwaggon, Chris Coyle and Ed Aikin as these three drivers were racing through heavy traffic and now in the top ten.

On lap eighteen, Seidel past Collett for the fourth spot. Chris Coyle, driving the BPG sprinter moved into fourth with just two laps remaining. As the field passed to take the white flag, Kramer Williamson and Mares Stellfox tangled in turn four with Stellfox flipping and coming to stop in the middle of the turn. Both drivers walked away uninjured and with badly damaged sprint cars.

The race resumed with just one to go and Michael bolted when the green flag was displayed. Coyle actually lost two spots on the final lap as Collett and Stillwaggon made a pass in turn two.

Coming down for the checker flag, Michael was all alone followed by Randy West, Joey Biasi, Brian Seidel (Justin Collett crossed the line in fifth but was later disqualified) with Robbie Stillwaggon earning the fifth spot. Making up the top ten were, Chris Coyle, Dave Ely, Kyle Purks, Ed Aikin and Kevin Welsh.

DAVE ELY BLISTERS EVERYTHING IN SIGHT TO WIN URC RISLONE SPRINT SERIES OPENER SATURDAY NIGHT AT BRIDGEPORT

Dave Ely of West Lawn, PA was perfect on Saturday night when the United Racing Company opened their sixty-first season as the Nation's Oldest Traveling Sprint Car Organization at the Bridgeport Speedway. Ely, driving the Gene Franckowiak owned URC sprinter, was dominant in warm-ups, flawless on his way to winning his qualifying heat race then blistered all competitors to collect the $2,000 first place prize in the 25 lap URC feature event. Ely led all twenty-five laps and was pretty much uncontested for the entire distance. Ely now finds himself on top of the point chase in his quest to winning the URC Rislone Sprint Car Championship.

An outstanding field of thirty-five URC sprints turned out for the Bridgeport Speedway URC sprint series opener with a count of seven "rookie drivers" taking part in the show. The entire rookie field did an outstanding job with special recognition going to Brett Schoenly and Chuck Palmucci who qualified for the feature event. Schonely finished 14th in the feature and earned the Fred's Trailer Parts Hard Charger Award for advancing nine spots in the main event.

Three heat race events were presented with victories going to Mark Bitner, Dave Ely and Brian Seidel as Davey Sammons, driving the Palladino #99 won the Don Ott "B" Main.

In the twenty-five lap URC Rislone Sprint feature, Dave Ely earned the pole for winning the opening heat race of the night. At the drop of the green, Ely quickly established a commanding lead as Mark Bitner followed in second. Jason Clauss was holding down third as defending URC Champion Curt Michael (driving the Bill Gallagher owned 5G) was on a charge and racing in fourth by lap four.

The first caution of the race was displayed on lap seven when Adam Gordon and Jamie Bodo tangled in turn two. On the restart, Ely again ran to hide from the field with Bitner in a solid second as Curt Michael tried to reel in the leaders. Jason Clauss and Kyle Purks made up the top five as BPG sponsored sprint car of Chris Coyle was on a charge as well.

At the halfway point, Ely was on point followed by Bitner, Michaels, Jason Clauss and Coyle. The top three remained unchanged in the second half of the race. Then on lap twenty-one, the yellow was displayed when Randy West spun and came to a stop in turn three. On the restart, Tim Hogue came to a stop in turn four and the yellow flag was out again.

With just three laps remaining, Bitner and Michael had their last shot to take the wheel from Ely, but when the green flag fell, Ely was off like a flash. With the checker flag waiving, Ely took the win, his first of 2008 and ninth career URC victory. Bitner delivereda solid second place finish followed by Curt Michael, Chris Coyle and Jason Clauss.

FEATURE FINISH: Dave Ely, Mark Bitner, Curt Michael, Chris Coyle, Jason Clauss, Kyle Purks, Ed Aikin, Becca Anderson, Robbie Stillwaggon, Justin Collett, Kevin Welsh, Davey Sammons, Scott Pursell, Brett Schoenly, Chuck Palmucci, Dave Betts, Randy West, Gary Gollub, JJ Grasso, Brian Seidel, Tim Hogue, Gary Joey Biasi, , Scott McClaren, Adam Gordon, Jamie Bodo. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- - - THANK YOU

URC PLANS BIG 2008 SEASON THAT GETS UNDERWAY AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY SATURDAY, APRIL 12

The countdown is underway as the days click off towards the season opener of the Rislone URC Sprint Series of 2008. The first race of the new campaign will take place at the Bridgeport Speedway on Saturday night, April 12. URC is boasting plenty of good things including a long list of potential championship winning teams. At the top of the list is the defending Champion Car Owner, Kathy Palladino who will have the youthful sensation of Davey Sammons behind the wheel. As for the defending Champion Driver, Curt Michael will pilot the always competitive Bill Gallagher owned 5G. Also expected to be in the mix is Chris Coyle, a three time  feature winner with URC in 2007. Coyle will be sporting the number, sponsor logo and funding of Chad Sinon and BPG Racing.

The list of title contenders also includes Brian Seidel in the Guy Howie #19, Ed Aikin behind the wheel of the John Pinter #92A, Dave Ely and the Gene Franckowiak owned #75, Randy West driving the Elmer Stoltzfus #00, Jason Clauss in the #08, Mark Bitner driving the #15 and Becca Anderson wheeling the Bar's Leaks #17 just to name a few. Youthful talent also with an eye on the title is Andrew Hannula driving the Scott McClaren #21A, Kyle Purks returning in his family owned #64, Jamie Bodo in the Gary Bacon #808, and JJ Grasso in the #37.

URC also has a large turnout of rookies in 2008. Drivers running for the URC Rookie of the Year title this year includes Art Liedl, Flemington, NJ, Rory Janne, Estell, NJ, David Gravel, Watertown, CT, Jimmy Reppert, Slatington, PA, Brett Schoenly, Emmaus, PA, Jim Walters, Delran, NJ, Chuck Palamucci, Bordentown, NJ, Dom Buffalino, Morganville, NJ, Dennis Garl, Temple, PA, Brandon Weibley, Dillsburg, PA and Lou Parisi of Mullica Hills, NJ. The influx of new talent to URC is driven by URC's purse and point fund structure, their tire deal, competitors insurance, tow money and the highly enforced car spec rules, aimed at keeping the cost of sprint car racing affordable. URC is also proud of their "smart schedule" of 2008 that offers twenty-nine race dates conveniently located to minimize travel with today's high cost of fuel.

Also on the URC schedule are several special events that include the Jack Gunn Memorial at the Selinsgrove Speedway, a $3,500  to win payoff on Saturday night, May 17. The Rislone URC Sprint Nationals will pay  $4,000 to win at the Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night, June 6. URC will also sanction the Kasey Kahne Foundation event at Williams Grove on Tuesday night,  August 12. Last by certainly not least is the Saturday, October 11 $3,000 to win Sprint Challenge at Rolling Wheels Raceway in Elbridge, NY.

URC has a "win-win" season planned and it all gets underway at the Bridgeport Speedway on Saturday, April 12 followed by a visit to the Delaware International Speedway on Saturday, April 19. URC will close out the month of April visiting the New Egypt  Speedway on Saturday, April 26.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- - -THANK YOU

NEW DRIVERS FLOCK TO URC FOR 2008 SEASON

The 61st season of the Rislone URC Sprint Series will get underway at the Bridgeport Speedway on Saturday, April 12 and a large field of cars is expected. The URC season is looking better then ever with many new or return entries now on the roster. At least ten rookie drivers have registered, including Art Liedl of Flemington, NJ, Brett Schoenly of Emmaus, PA, Jim Walters of Delran, NJ, Chuck Palamucci of Bordentown, NJ, Dom Buffalino of Morganville, NJ, Dennis Garl of Temple, PA, Brandon Weibley of Dillsburg, PA, Lou Parisi of Mullica Hills, NJ, David Gravel of Watertown, CT and Jimmy Reppert of Slatington, PA. The list of new entries also includes some drivers returning to the weekly URC battles like Ashley Parlett of Wye Mills, MD, Greg Coverdale of Milford, DE and Tim Hogue of Medford, NJ. It's obvious that URC is the place to be if you're racing 360 sprint cars, and this  influx of drivers is the proof.

At the URC Spring Competitors Meeting, a rookie orientation was presented with Brian Seidel and Chris Coyle as guest speakers. Both Seidel and Coyle are top competitors on the URC tour and took time out of their schedule to assist URC Managing Members with the orientation. Race night procedures and driver discipline on the track were the keytopics. URC's goal is to properly help our rookie crop of drivers to a successful and safe transition into URC.

A common theme from the rookie drivers indicate that they are coming to race with URC because of our expanded and no tolerance teching procedures. For example, if a sealed engine is found through random teching to be illegal, driver and owner will lose all money and points earned for the night as well as year-to-date and carry a fine of $1,000 before they can return to compete with URC. Our view in URC is not just to play hardball but to keep every car on as even of a playing field as possible. If we have rules, they must be enforced.

A twenty-nine race date schedule is set for URC and includes stops at Bridgeport, Delaware International, New Egypt, Grandview, Selinsgrove, Williams Grove, Lincoln, Penn Can, Middletown and the Rolling Wheels Raceway.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE---THANK YOU

Who's Hot To Watch in 2008. . . . . . SCOTT McCLAREN & ANDREW HANNULA ONBOARD FOR RISLONE URC SPRINT SERIES SEASON OPENER

Confirmed on a phone call Tuesday evening, another Super Team will be in the hunt for a visit to the coveted URC victory lane in 2008.   URC Rookie of the Year Andrew Hannula of Matawan, NJ has joined the team of Scott McClaren for the coming season.  Without a doubt, the McClaren team cars out of Freehold, NJ  are two of the top rides available in URC, and the youthful Hannula is all geared up for 2008.   McClaren, a top sprint car owner in URC, also has plans to return to the drivers seat himself when the Rislone URC Sprint Series opens at the Bridgeport  Speedway on Saturday night, April 12th.     "I'm optimistic about the new year and Andrew.  He has a lot of energy and plenty of focus on his goals", commented McClaren.  "The competition in URC is probably  the toughest you'll find anywhere.  Andrew and I talked about it and we want to run against the best", added McClaren.   Hannula will drive the #21A as McClaren will wheel the #21.

With the great equipment provided by McClaren and the natural talent of Hannula, they do expect to be contenders for victory, as well as the URC Championship Title which is also within reach according to McClaren. It's this simple, they're coming to race,  they're coming to win!

Never before in the sixty year history of URC has there been so much news and such strong and powerful positive excitement about the coming URC season.  The numerous ride switches have certainly added a mix of the "unknown"  and at the same time, leveled  the playing field.  The URC Super Teams of 2008 are almost too numerous to count and we run the risk of missing someone.  But  "who's hot to watch" in 2008.

Andrew Hannula driving the McClaren
Davey Sammons in the Palladino #99
Chris Coyle in the #4 Chad Sinon sponsored sprint car
Becca Anderson taking on a full season in the Jimmy Martin Bar's Leaks sponsored sprint car
Ed Aikin wheeling the John Pinter owned #92A
Bill Gallagher's #5G with Curt Michael at the wheel
Car owner Guy Howie is shooting for the URC Title with Brian Seidel behind the wheel
Greg Coverdale returning in the Eldreth Construction #25
Nick Schlauch Jr of Churchville, PA to bring his #59 to URC
Micro sensation Brett Schoenly to chase URC Rookie of the Year honors
Robbie Stillwaggon has a stepped up program for 2008
Dave Ely and Gene Franckowiak gearing up for a big season. . . New equipment on order!
Randy West and Elmer Stoltzfus plan a full season of URC racing
Mark Bitner "Mr. Twister" has new equipment ready to go in 2008

Twenty-nine race dates at premier Northeast facilities are on the  URC schedule.   All Rislone URC Sprint Series events will pay a minimum of $2,000 to win and $200 just to take the green flag in a regular distance twenty-five lap feature event.  URC also continues to pay tow money to  non-qualified cars.  At least four special events will beef up the "Who's Hot To Watch" Tour of 2008.   The Jack Gunn Memorial, the Rislone URC Sprint Nationals, the Kasey Khane Foundation Race  and the Sprint Challenge at the Wheels are a sample of the high profile events making up the schedule.  Some other perks with URC include the lucrative point fund that exceeded $45,000 in cash and an additional $15,000 in contingency awards in 2007.   The URC insurance program  for competitors is also second to none.

URC Drivers & Owners will again be rewarded with the Chips Reward Program.  When a driver, owner or race team, does a car show, makes a personal appearance, speaks on a radio or TV show, takes part in an autograph session or  sends out a press release, they will earn a chip. You can earn all the chips you want, then at the URC Awards Banquet,  there will be a drawing with one person winning the $500 cash prize.   The more chips you have will increase your chances at winning the cash. The real gain here is earning your team, driver, owner, sponsors  and URC the additional  media and fan exposure.  It's a win-win for all.

URC is once again offering a great season for competitors and fans alike.  For more information, visit our website at:  www.urcsprints.com

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE---THANK YOU

RISLONE URC Sprint Series of 2008. . . . . .ORANGE COUNTY SQUEEZES INTO BUSY URC SCHEDULE, DATE SET FOR SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 13

Twenty-nine race dates now fill the very busy Rislone URC Sprint Series schedule of 2008 with the recent addition of the historic Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, NY. Orange County has always been a popular stop for the URC sprint cars with sixty-seven visits to the "hard clay" in the sixty year history of URC. One-hundred and thirty-seven tracks have played host to URC through its rich history and Orange County is ranked fifth for the most URC events. Delaware International, Bridgeport, Flemington and the Grandview Speedway's are the top four tracks in booking URC Sanctioned events. The demand for URC events remain strong in the states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. For the competitors, the 2008 URC "smart schedule" is quite pleasing. With the rising cost of fuel, the URC schedule has their drivers staying close to home while still visiting some the most high profile and top notch facilities in the nation. "Our owners and drivers need some special consideration when it comes to the increased cost of highway travel". It was with great regret that  we gave up our visits to the Canadian and some New  York facilities a few years back, but today, with travel costs being what they are, we know it was the right decision", commented Managing Member Bob Miller.

The line-up of URC facilities is second to none. URC will have three race dates at the sprint car Mecca, Williams Grove Speedway as well as two race dates at the Lincoln Speedway and two at the scary fast Selinsgrove Speedway. Delaware International remains the premier facility on the Eastern Shore. In New Jersey, we have the sprawling high speed Bridgeport Speedway as well as the fan friendly and racy New Egypt Speedway. Back to Pennsylvania, Penn Can Speedway is on the schedule, a facility where you can see upgrades happening week after week as well as the recently renovated Big Diamond Speedway. And there's always Grandview Speedway, a track every driver wants to win at. . . . . but you have to be up to the challenge of this demanding, and  often mean one-third mile high banked oval.

For 2008, URC will continue their growth of taking 360 Sprint Car Racing to new heights. The URC purse, point fund, car specifications and handicapping will not be compromised in any way going into the new year as it delivered a successful season in 2007.

Car count was strong last year and all indicators show a solid year in 2008 as well. Some top teams have shuffled over the winter months which should open the door for another blockbuster season. Davey Sammons in the Palladino #99, popular modified car owner Chad Sinon backing Chris Coyle, Becca Anderson onboard for a full season in the Bar's Leaks sprinter, Ed Aikin joining the  John Pinter Team, Greg Coverdale driving the Eldreth Construction sprinter and Curt Michael in the powerful Bill Gallagher #5 is     just a sample of some of the ride hoping. Don't count out regulars like Kramer Williamson, Brian Seidel, Dave Ely, Jason Clauss, Robbie Stillwaggon, Kevin Welsh, Scott Pursell, Mark Bitner, Randy West and Joey Biasi, all contenders for a visit to   victory lane and a shot at the prestigious URC Title.

In 2007, URC delivered twenty different feature winners, making it URC's most competitive season ever and our richest payout to drivers and owners in the sixty year history of our nation's oldest traveling sprint car organization.

The focus for the coming season is to execute on race night. At a time when our competing organizations are struggling, URC is on solid ground with a firm schedule, a posted purse and point fund, proven race procedures, enforced car specifications and handicapping that is especially pleasing to the race fans. "Our partners, the track promoters need our help to deliver a well run and organized racing program. We also plan to offer our speedway's a variety of promotional efforts which will include event posters, pre-race car showings, advance press releases and race night autograph sessions and fan give-aways", added Bob Miller.

In 2008, our season will open on Saturday night, April 12 at the Bridgeport Speedway. Several special events will highlight the Rislone URC Sprint Series including the $3,500 to win 3rd Annual Jack Gunn Memorial at the Selinsgrove Speedway on Saturday night, May 17. The 3rd Annual Rislone Sprint Nationals will pay $4,000 to win at the Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night, June 6th. On Tuesday night, August 12th, URC will be part of the 2nd Annual Kasey Khane Foundation event and on Saturday night, October 11, URC will be the sanctioning body for the Shoot Out at the Wheels paying $3,000 to win at the Rolling Wheels  Raceway. Sunday night, October 12 will be the rain date for this event.

Other highlights on the schedule include two events at the Lincoln Speedway and three race dates at the Grandview Speedway. Bridgeport will again host the URC Sprints on a special Friday night, July 4th date. Returning to the URC schedule will be the Penn Can Speedway. The race will be sponsored by BPG Racing/Chad Sinon Motorsports and will take place on Friday night, June 20. The URC season will close being part of the Saturday night, October 18 Grandview Thunder 5-25's Features  Only program that is part of the House of Thunder Halloween Party/Thunder on the Hill Racing Series at the Grandview Speedway.

The date for the Annual URC Spring Competitors Meeting will be announced shortly. The agenda for the meeting will be to review in detail our plans for 2008 including the announcement of our sponsors, contingency programs, insurance and the Chips Reward Promotional Program for 2008.

It's full steam ahead for URC in 2008 and remember, if you own a 360 sprint car, URC is the only place to be! For a look at URC's current schedule and Driver Roster, please visit our website at: www.urcsprints.com

URC TO KICKOFF 61st SEASON, , , , TAKING 360 SPRINT CAR RACING TO NEW HEIGHTS!

For sixty years, the URC Sprint Car Series have toured the Eastern United States, presenting some 1,397 racing events and entertaining millions of race fans.  It's hasn't always been a glorious road for the Nation's oldest traveling sprint car series, but since the direction as turned to operating with a business approach, URC grows more solid with each year.  Corporate sponsorship joined by local and regional sponsors have allowed URC to richen the pot for the competitors, without increasing the cost to track  perators.  URC has delivered solid car counts with twenty-eight to thirty-two cars competing in most show, a statement that very few, if any, traveling sprint cars organizations can claim.

As URC prepares to launch their sixty-first season, the RISLONE URC Sprint Series will once again offer a "smart" schedule for 2008.   URC's approach for the new season is to firm-up our local tracks and partner with these facilities to increase their fan base.  URC customized posters for each event, driver appearances and participating is various pre-season car show events, will help drive URC awareness and build a following.  On race night, URC Managing Members and Officials will again work with local track officials to present one of the most efficiently run multiple divisions shows.   "It's key that we streamline our  programs to keep the shows running smoothly and in a timely manner", commented Managing Member and Race Director Bob Miller.    "These events  are all about selling speed so we can't have long drawn out programs. Transponders for scoring and in-car radios have contributed greatly to deliver a well run show", added Miller.

For 2008, twenty-eight race dates are on the schedule with opening day set for Saturday night, April 12 at the Bridgeport Speedway.  Several special events will highlight the Series including the $3,500 to win 3rd Annual Jack Gunn Memorial at the Selinsgrove Speedway on Saturday night, May 17.    The 3rd Annual Rislone Sprint Nationals will pay $4,000 to win at the Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night, June 6th.     On Tuesday night, August 12 URC will be part of the 2nd Annual Kasey Khane Foundation event and on  Saturday night, October 11, URC will be the  sanctioning body for  the Shoot Out at the Wheels paying  $3,500  to at the Rolling Wheels Raceway.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE---THANK YOU

JOHN PINTER TO "DOUBLE THE FUN" WITH URC IN 2008

John Pinter is planning a big year of sprint car racing as he competes on the Rislone URC Sprint Series of 2008. Pinter, a former stock car driver and a very successful one at that, recently transitioned to a URC sprint car owner and he's having so much fun that he is planning a two car team in 2008. In 2007, Pinter owned the familiar #92 that saw Kyle Purks at the wheel. In the new season, Pinter plans to double the fun, providing a team car for popular Ed Aikin to drive on the URC Tour. "This whole deal could not have worked out any better", commented Aikin  as he informed URC Managing Members of his new found ride. "John is just a great guy and I'm really looking forward to the new season", added Aikin. At Christmas time, Aikin was still without a ride, then the Pinter deal came along and Aikin was gleaming.

John Pinter is also a happy man. "It's going to be fun watching two cars on race night, especially since I'm more nervous watching, then I ever was driving", said the mild mannered Pinter. "We plan to run both teams independently of each other and I'm really looking forward to just driving my car to the races and watching".

John Pinter has a very interesting team that includes the youthful and aggressive style of Langhorne, PA driver Kyle Purks, along with the veteran known as steady Eddie Aikin. In 2007, Aikin won the $4,000 to win, Rislone Sprint Nationals at the Williams Grove Speedway, perhaps the most prestigious win of his career.

Purks will continue to sport the #92 as he did last year. Aikin will driver the #92A and both cars will carry the familiar blue and red color combination.

As always, sponsors play a key role in any race team and for John Pinter, he has plenty of support on his team. The Audi Shop of Wilmington, DE, CnB Mushrooms, C&C Landscaping, Atlantic Speed and Roy's our House Club in Claymont, DE will be on the sideboards of the Pinter Team Cars.

"It's gonna be exciting", said Pinter who targets a goal of two cars finishing in the top five in the Rislone URC Sprint Series of 2008.

As for the URC new year, there is a good chance that it's going to be crowed at the top of the point chase, but at the end of the season, only one driver and one owner will stand at the Championship podium.

Along with the Pinter two car team, some other URC big news stories include the Chad Sinon support of URC driver Chris Coyle, Becca Anderson returning in the Jimmy Martin/Rislone sponsored sprint car, Greg Coverdale returning in Eldreth Construction sprint car, Davey Sammons in the seat of the Palladino #99 and Curt Michael wheeling the Bill Gallagher owned 5G.

At a time when race dates and race teams seam to be evaporating in most areas of the sport, URC is building steam for 2008. The Rislone URC Sprint Series will open 2008 at the Bridgeport Speedway on Saturday, April 12 followed by a visit to the Delaware International Speedway on Saturday, April 19 and the New Egypt Speedway on Saturday night, April 26.
