FRED'S TRAILER PARTS NEW SERIES CONTINUES . . . . .
CHRIS COYLE EARNS BPG & CHAD SINON THEIR FIRST CAREER URC SPRINT WIN SATURDAY NIGHT AT NEW EGYPT

Chris Coyle of Wilmington, DE scored his first win of the season and his eighth career Rislone URC Sprint victory Saturday night at the New Egypt Speedway. The win for Coyle did earn his major sponsor, Chad Sinon/BPG Racing his first career sprint car victory. Coyle took the lead on lap fourteen after a hard fought battle with Dave Ely and went on to pocket the $2,200 first prize payoff. CnB  Mushrooms posted a $200 bonus payoff for the winner on Fred's Trailer Parts Night at New Egypt.

A strong field of thirty-seven sprint cars turned out for the twenty-second show of the Rislone URC Sprint Series. Four heat race vents were presented with victories going to Jeff VanDusan, Kevin Darling, Chris Coyle and Dave Ely as Joey Biasi won the Don Ott "B" Main. $250 went to the winner of the "B" main courtesy of CnB Mushrooms and Don Ott Racing Engines.

At the start of the twenty-five lap feature event, pole sitter Kevin Darling spun when entering turn one, immediately displaying the yellow flag. On the restart, Dave Ely charged to the point and set the pace for the first three laps. On lap four, the red flag was displayed when the "Jersey Jet" JJ Grasso made hard contact with the first turn wall and flipped violently, taking Rory Janney and Davey Sammons along in the crash. All drivers walked away uninjured but the sprint car of JJ Grasso was badly damaged and unable to continue. Grasso was looking for his fifth consecutive win at New Egypt.

On the restart, Ely remained the pace setter with Chris Coyle and Jeff VanDusan close in the chase. By lap six, Coyle was in a heated battle with Ely for the lead. Ely and Coyle ran side-by-side until the caution was displayed on lap twelve when Davey Sammons spun in turn four.

With the green flag waiving, Ely continued to set the pace as the field passed for the halfway sign. At this point, Ely was the leader followed by Chris Coyle, Kramer Williamson, Trevor Lewis (who started thirteenth) and Jeff VanDusan.

Charging off of turn four on lap fifteen, Chris Coyle powered into the lead with Ely dropping to second. On lap nineteen, Becca Anderson spun in turn three and the yellow was displayed once again.

On the restart, the red flag was displayed before a lap was completed when Joey Biasi took a wicked tumble in the first turn. Biasi did walk away uninjured.

The field re-grouped once again and Coyle continued to set the pace at the drop of the green flag. With five laps remaining, Coyle set the pace but now Trevor Lewis was second and chasing down the leader. With each lap, Lewis inched in closer to Coyle and with just two lapsremaining, only three car lengths separated the first and second place cars.

For the final two laps, Coyle maintained his lead and took the checker flag and his first victory of 2008. Trevor Lewis finished second followed by Dave Ely, Kramer Williamson and Ed Aikin. Jeff VanDusan finished sixth followed by Michael Carber, Curt Michael (who started eighteenth), Kyle Purks and Kevin Welsh.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- - - THANK YOU

THE JERSEY JET EYES RECORD GOING INTO NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY SATURDAY NIGHT

JJ Grasso of Pedricktown, NJ has certainly lived up to his popular nickname, "The Jersey Jet" and Saturday night he'll be returning to the New Egypt Speedway with a chance to etch his name on a milestone.

Grasso, winning four of four Rislone URC Sprint Series events so far this season will be looking at a perfect five for five should he find victory lane once again at New Egypt on Saturday night. URC, now sixty-one years only has only seen this accomplishment achieved twice before. Back in 1977, Buck Buckley won five in five at the Flemington Fair Speedway then ten years later in 1987, it was "Mr. URC" Glenn Fitzcharles who was a five in five winner at the Bridgeport Speedway. Grasso leads all drivers in the feature win department with five victories, scoring four wins at New Egypt and one win at the Penn Can Speedway this season.

The Grasso story of 2008 is quite unique. They started the season not sure if they could make every race just due to a limited budget. By purchasing used tires and often second hand parts, "The Jersey Jet" now finds himself ranked second in the overall Rislone URC point chase, sandwiched between to of URC's ace racers, point leader and six time champion Curt Michael and third ranked driver and  2003 URC Champion Dave Ely of West Lawn, PA.

Two point races still remain including New Egypt on Saturday night and the Rolling Wheels Raceway on Saturday night, October 11. The season final for the Rislone URC Sprint Series is set for Saturday night, October 18 when URC will be part of the "features only"  Grandview Speedway 5-25's House of Thunder Halloween Party, this event is not a point race.

The two remaining events will not offer enough points for Grasso to make an attempt at winning the championship in 2008 as Curt Michael has a commanding point lead. For Grasso, he'll be looking for every point he can find to hold on to that second place ranking in the point chase. Following Michael and Grasso in the point chase include Dave Ely, Chris  Coyle and Becca Anderson. For Grasso, a top five finish in the point chase would great and the runner-up spot would offer story-book finish to a great season.

A field of thirty URC sprint cars are expected to take part in the racing event at the New Egypt Speedway on Saturday night.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- -- THANK YOU

URC ROOKIE BATTLE WILL GO DOWN TO THE WIRE IN 2008

Thirteen rookie drivers are on the Rislone URC Sprint Series driver roster for 2008 and the battle for the bragging rights for Rookie of the Year will go right down to the wire. The measures to earn the Rookie of the Year title are based on ranking in the points, point average per race, on track race performance and general overall conduct on how the driver, owner and crew work as a team as well as  pit side conduct.

Of the thirteen candidates in the running for the Rookie of the Year title, four drivers did a break-away from the rest of the pack. Brett Schoenly (13th in points), Chuck Palmucci (15th in points), Rory Janney (16th in points) and David Gravel (20th in points) are the leading candidates. In their rookie year, Palmucci and Gravel have found their way to victory lane, both delivering very impressive runs.

On the other hand, Brett Schoenly has not won a feature as yet, but is ranked 13th in points, following a pair of back-to-back six place finishes at Orange County and last Saturday night at Delaware International. Schoenly also has the highest point average per race. Schoenly of Emmaus, PA is enjoying a very impressive rookie year with URC.

Rory Janney of Estell Manor, NJ just keeps rolling right along as well. Janney has delivered some solid runs and his on track  performance is highly regarded by his fellow competitors.

David Gravel makes the haul each week from Watertown, CT. Gravel got a late start, missing the first five events of the season and has one feature win. Gravel is just seventeen years old and offers a promising future in URC.

It's a tight battle with three events still remaining!

ANDERSON CLAIMS DELAWARE TITLE, THREE RACE DATES REMAIN ON RISLONE URC TOUR OF 2008

The Rislone URC Sprint Tour of 2008 made their final visit of the season on Saturday night at the Delaware International Speedway. Rookie driver Chuck Palmucci scored his first career win last night as the "Houston Hurricane" Becca Anderson snatched the Taylor  & Messick Delaware State Sprint Series championship title. For Anderson and team sponsor Bar's Leaks, it was an impressive run for the championship going into the show second in points and ending the night ranked number one in the state of Delaware. For Palmucci and Anderson, they'll be gearing up for URC's next show, Saturday, October 4 at the New Egypt Speedway. Their only concern on October 4 will be trying to stop the "Jersey Jet", JJ Grasso, who is undefeated this season at New Egypt.

The following weekend, the Rislone URC Sprint tour will head to New York for the Annual Sprint Shoot Out at the Wheels on Saturday night, October 11 at the Rolling Wheels Raceway in Elbridge, NY. A field of more then fifty sprint cars are expected to take part in the $3,000 to win feature event.

URC's season will officially close on Saturday night, October 18 when URC joins the Thunder on the Hill Racing Series House of Thunder Halloween Party at the Grandview Speedway. This popular feature's only event will again showcase the URC sprints, competing in a 25 lap feature along with the ARDC Wingless Midgets, the NASCAR 358 Modifieds, the Rolling Legends and the 600cc Modifieds. Gates will open at 4 PM with race time set for 6 PM.

The United Racing Company has enjoyed another great season, celebrating their sixty-first season as the nation's oldest traveling sprint car organization. In 2008, URC presented twenty-one events that delivered thirteen different feature winners and four first time feature winners. URC's big events of the season saw Kenny Adams win the Rislone Nationals paying $4,000 to win and Blane Heimbach won the $3,500 to win Jack Gunn Memorials at Selinsgrove Speedway. In August, Jason Johnson added his name to URC's first time winners roster, claiming the $6,000 to win Kasey Kahne Foundation $6,000 to win feature at the Williams Grove Speedway.

One big event still remains on the URC schedule, that being the $3,000 to win Sprint Shootout at the Wheels on Saturday, October 11. In 2008, this event saw Chuck Hebing take the victory.

For Palmucci, it was his URC career first victory and in doing so, earned $2,000 for the victory. This event marked URC last visit of the season at Delaware International and the Houston "Hurricane" Becca Anderson won the 2008 Taylor & Messick Delaware State Sprint Series, topping Curt Michael in the chase for the title.

Miller, who owns one career URC win appeared to on his way to victory, but as the race went on, Miller pace setting sprinter became looser with each lap. Finally, on lap nineteen, Palmucci made the move and passed Mille for the lead.. On lap twenty-one, Nate Snyder moved into second and in the closing laps, began to reel in the leader. By lap twenty-two, Kramer Williamson advanced to third with his  eyes now on Snyder.

CURT MICHAEL SCORES THIRD URC WIN OF 2008 SATURDAY NIGHT AT ORANGE COUNTY FAIR SPEEDWAY

Curt Michael of Ocean View, DE, URC's Mr. Consistency was the class of the field Saturday night at the Orange County Fair Speedway, as he found victory lane in convincing style, winning the twenty-five lap Rislone URC sprint feature. The win was worth $2,200, courtesy of an additional $200 posted by Chubby of CnB Mushrooms. Michael took the lead from Trevor Lewis on lap sixteen and was never challenged in the closing laps. For Michael, it was his third win of the season and his thirty-eighth career win.

With threatening weather in the area, the show did go on and a strong field of thirty-one URC sprint cars turned out for the event. Heat race wins went to Trevor Lewis, Kyle Purks and Rory Janney as Danny Massey won the Don Ott "B" Main.

In the twenty-five lap Rislone URC sprint feature, Brett Schoenly led the field into turn one but the caution was thrown immediately when Kyle  Purks rolled to a stop in turn two. Before that lap was completed, Rory Janney and Kramer Williamson tangled in turn four.

Schoenly turned in a fine ride leading the feature until lap seven when Lewis took the lead. By lap nine, Michael was second and not too far off the pace was the "Jersey Jet", JJ Grasso now running in the top five.

At the halfway point of the race, Lewis and Michael were at the front of the pack followed by Robbie Stillwaggon, Brett Schoenly and Grasso..

Lewis had a solid lead but it quickly dissolved as he approached lapped traffic. Michael caught Lewis on lap sixteen and with one quick surge, he went into the lead.

On lap eighteen the yellow was displayed for David Gravel who stopped on the backstretch, at the same time, Nate Snyder took a wild flip in turn one, displaying the red flag. Snyder walked away uninjured.

With the green flag waiving, Michael was quick on the restart and established a four car length lead immediately. For the final laps, Michael ran unchallenged to the win followed by Trevor Lewis, Robbie Stillwaggon, JJ Grasso and Chris Coyle.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE---THANK YOU

URC SPRINTS MAKE HISTORIC RETURN TO ORANGE COUNTY ON SATURDAY NIGHT

The Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, NY will host the Nations Oldest Sprint Car Organization this Saturday night when the Rislone URC Sprint Series returns for their sixty-eighth race on the "hard clay". In URC history, Orange County is ranked fifth for hosting the most URC shows, in fact, a total of sixty-seven URC events were presented and delivered thirty-three different winners between June 25, 1950 and 2007. Saturday night, it's quite possible that a new first time winner could be added to the list.

Five current day drivers, Gary Gollub, Kramer Williamson, Randy West, Trevor Lewis and Chris Coyle have all won at Orange County and will be in the field Saturday night.

URC's current point leader Curt Michael of Ocean View, DE has two wins this season (coming on April 19 at Delaware International and May 24 at Bridgeport) but has never won at Orange County. Michael has a solid point leader over runner-up Dave Ely and would like to add this track to his list of victory lanes visited. Michael has become URC's "Mr. Consistency" as he demonstrates an ability to miss the accidents as he wheels a car that is always running strong at the end of the race.

Chris Coyle, driver of the BPG #4 won the last URC show at Orange County on August 11, 2007. Coyle is currently ranked fourth in the season long Rislone point chase and has not won a feature as yet this season. Kramer Williamson, Gary Gollub, Randy West and Kramer Williamson are all geared up for the action on Saturday night.

Of course, the hottest driver in URC remains to be JJ "The Jersey Jet" Grasso. With five wins this season, Grasso sits third in the point chase. Grasso has proven he has his short track program figured out with wins at New Egypt and Penn Can. Orange County, a big five-eighth mile oval will offer new challenges for this overnight sensation from Pedricktown, NJ.

A field of thirty URC sprint cars are expected to take part in the program that will offer three heat race events, a "B" Main and a $2,000 to win twenty-five lap feature.

The Orange County Fair Speedway is located in Middletown, NY and race time is set for 6 PM.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE---THANK YOU

GRASSO SMOKES THE COMPETITION FOR HIS FIFTH URC WIN OF 2008 AND FOURTH IN A ROW AT NEW EGYPT

NEW EGYPT, NJ . . . . The "Jersey Jet" JJ Grasso of Pedricktown, NJ likes New Egypt Speedway, the URC handicapping system and the $2,000 that goes to feature winner. Saturday night at the New Egypt Speedway, Grasso brought the crowd to their feet by winning his heat race and the twenty-five lap Rislone URC Sprint Series feature event. This show was also part of the Fred's Trailer Parts New Series of 2008. Grasso, who takes a liking to the URC handicapping system made short work of a strong field by starting seventh in his heat race and winning the ten lap event, setting times in excess of one second per lap faster then any other car on the track. The heat race win earned Grasso the pole in the feature event where he led the entire twenty-five lap distance. Grasso remained exciting through the entire feature, slicing his way through lapped traffic and rim-riding the outside guardrail which kept the fans on their feet lap after lap. For Grasso, it was fourth URC win in a row at New Egypt and fifth win of 2008. Year-to-date, Grasso has already earned $10,000 just in his five URC  victories. The season isn't over and yes, Grasso still has another chance to win a URC race in October at New Egypt.

Passing was the theme of the night, again a compliment to the URC handicapping system that on this night, attracted a healthy thirty- ne car field. URC heat race winners include JJ Grasso, Ed Aikin and Jason Clauss as the Don Ott "B" winner was Randy West.

Just prior to the start of the URC "B" Main, a rain shower moved over the speedway, dumping rain for more then twenty minutes. The  New Egypt Speedway management and staff should be commended for an outstanding effort to get the track back in shape and not only in race ready condition, but near perfect.

At the start of the Rislone URC Sprint feature, Grasso was the early race leader with Ed Aikin and Jason Clauss follow to make up the top three. On lap five, the first yellow was displayed when Trevor Lewis slowed on the homestretch. On the restart, Grasso once again ran to hide from the rest of the field, leaving Aikin and Kramer Williamson, Dave Ely and Kyle Purks to battle for the second through fifth.

The red flag was displayed on lap seven when Rory Janney flipped in turn one. Janney walked away uninjured but the car was badly damaged and unable to compete in the balance of the race. Grasso remained the pace setter followed by Aikin, Ely in third, Kyle Purks  in fourth and Michael Carber in fifth.

The final caution of the night was for Kyle Purks (racing in fourth) on lap twelve who developed steering problems and came to a stop in  turn two.

With the green flag waiving, Grasso was away and gone and set the pace as the field took the halfway sight. Aikin followed in second followed by Dave Ely, URC's point leader Curt Michael and Michael Carber. Although Grasso set a blistering pace, he certainly remained exciting as well with many fans holding their breath and he wheeled through the turns lap after lap.

In the closing laps, Michael Carber was the sleeper waiting to attack. Charging from fifth, on the final lap, Carber passed Curt Michael and Dave Ely to take the third place behind Grasso and Ed Aikin. With Carber third, Dave Ely finished fourth with Curt Michael fifth. Making up the top ten were Danny Massey, Mark Bitner, Kramer Williamson, Robbie Stillwaggon and Becca Anderson.

FEATURE FINISH: JJ Grasso, Ed Aikin, Michael Carber, Dave Ely, Curt Michael, Danny Massey, Mark Bitner, Kramer Williamson, Robbie Stillwaggon, Becca Anderson, Randy West, Davey Sammons, Kevin Welsh, Dave Gravel, Joey Biasi, Chris Coyle, Art Lidel, Ryan Bohlke, Nate Snyder, Scott Pursell, Chuck Palmucci, Jason Clauss, Kyle Purks, Rory Janney, Trevor Lewis. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- - - THANK YOU

GRASSO, GRAVEL & ANDERSON THE TALK OF URC OVER THE WEEKEND

The Rislone URC Sprint Series, hot off a two race weekend that saw Chad Layton and David Gravel split the victories, will be gearing up for a return to the New Egypt Speedway on Saturday night, August 30. Chad Layton won the URC sprint feature Friday night at the Grove and did it in convincing style, but through the grandstands, all the "talk" was about JJ "The Jersey Jet" Grasso. Grasso finished fifth in the feature event after going to rear early in the race. Not only did Grasso make passing look easy, he did it with his typical rim- iding, up high  against the guardrail style that left the crowd totally amazed. Grasso is confirming race after race, that he can get the job done! So get ready as URC returns to New Egypt Speedway this Saturday night, a track where the Pedricktown, NJ driver has won the  last three races.

Saturday night at Delaware International Speedway, rookie driver David Gravel and URC's number one lady driver Becca Anderson stole the show.

Becca Anderson is a favorite at most tracks and without a doubt, the state of Delaware's favorite sprint car driver. Anderson led most of the feature Saturday night until rookie sensation David Gravel of Watertown, CT took the lead in one swift move. Anderson fought back to regain the lead, only to have Randy West take second in the closing laps. Gravel delivered an awesome run, Randy West added a twist to the show and Anderson as always, was exciting in the Bar's Leaks sponsored sprint car.

Going into New Egypt Speedway, URC has presented eighteen events delivering twelve different winners. Seven events still remain in 2008 with three shows on the schedule at New Egypt, without a doubt a favorite stop for JJ Grasso.

URC continues to offer outstanding racing on a weekly basis and their handicapping system is the key to their success as well as delivering multiple winners. Along with the weekly top URC contenders, outsiders have invaded the URC organization in seek of the coveted checkered flag. Kenny Adams won the Rislone Nationals at Williams Grove, Blane Heimbach was the winner of the Jack Gunn Memorial, Jason Johnson recently won the Kasey Kahne Foundation event at Williams Grove as Ryan Bohlke and Chad Layton strapped into a 360 sprint and claimed the checker flag.

DAVID GRAVEL TOPS THE BEST OF URC FOR FIRST CAREER WIN SATURDAY NIGHT AT DELAWARE INTERNATIONAL

DELMAR, DE . . . .URC Rookie sensation David Gravel of Watertown, CT gave the veterans of URC a driving lesson on Saturday night, winning the twenty-five lap Rislone URC sprint car a at the Delaware International Speedway. The Saturday night show was also part of the Taylor & Messick Delaware State Sprint Series and marked the eighteenth URC event of 2008. Gravel became URC's twelfth different feature winner in eighteen events. Seven race dates still remain on the URC 2008 Rislone Sprint Series Schedule. Gravel started sixth and took the lead from Becca Anderson on lap eleven. In the closing stages, Anderson, driving the Bar's Leaks sponsored URC sprint car challenged back for the lead but Gravel was up to every challenge.

A field of twenty-seven URC sprint cars competed in three qualifying heat races with victories going to Joey Biasi, Becca Anderson and Chuck Palmucci as Dave Ely won the Don Ott "B" Main.

The opening lap of the twenty-five lap Rislone URC Sprint feature got off to a wild start when Mike Kostic, Robbie Stillwaggon and Scott Pursell tangled coming down for the green flag. Kostic and Stillwaggon both flipped but did walk away uninjured. On the restart, Becca Anderson bolted into the lead as sixth place starter David Gravel charged into second. Not far off the pace was Randy West driving the Fred Kennedy owned #56m. Becca stretched out an impressive lead but by lap eight, seventeen year old David Gravel  started to reel in the leader. With a burst of speed on lap eleven, Gravel passed Anderson entering turn three and quickly established a commanding lead.

As the field passed for the halfway point of the race, Gravel remained the pace setter followed by Anderson, Randy West, Joey Biasi and Chuck Palmucci. By lap sixteen, Anderson was closing on the leader and third place runner Randy West was moving into the chase as well. On lap twenty, Anderson attempted a pass for the lead but Gravel fought back. As Anderson battled Gravel, Randy West made  a move to take over second on lap twenty-one. The top three drivers continued their battle for lead then on lap twenty-three, the caution was displayed for Brett Schoenly who spun in turn one.

With just two laps remaining a shoot out to the finish was shaping up. At the drop of the green flag, Gravel bolted away from the rest of the field as Anderson made several attempts to regain the runner-up spot. Gravel took the win with Randy West second as Becca Anderson finished third with Joey Biasi and Ryan Bohlke following in the top five.

URC Heads to Delaware International Saturday Night. . .
CHAD LAYTON SCORES CONVINCING URC VICTORY FRIDAY NIGHT AT WILLIAMS GROVE

MECHANICSBURG, PA . . . . .Chad Layton of Harrisburg, PA scored his second career Rislone URC Sprint Series feature win Friday night at the Williams Grove Speedway. Layton was quite convincing, taking the lead following a lap seven restart from Justin Collett. Once on top, Layton set a blistering pace and went on to pocket the $2,000  first place prize. Along with this event being a Rislone URC point race, the Friday night outing was also part of the Valley Forge INC Pennsylvania Sprint point series.

A healthy field of thirty-six URC sprint cars took part in the show with heat race victories going to Randy West (driving the Fred Kennedy owner #56m), Justin Collett, Ed Aikin and Dave Ely. Curt Michael was the winner of the Don Ott sponsored "B" Main.  In the twenty-five lap Rislone URC sprint car feature, rookie driver David Gravel set the pace for the first two lap. When entering turn three on lap three, the right rear tire blew, sending the leader into the wall. The "Jersey Jet" JJ Grasso tangled with Gravel and came to a stop in turn three. The "Jet" restarted at the rear of the field, but that is not the end of his story as the "Jet" rebounded to finish fifth.

At that point, Justin Collett became the new leader but had to immediately deal with Chad Layton and Dave Ely who were close and in the chase.

On lap seven, Joe Zuczek stopped in turn two and the second caution of the race was displayed. On the restart, Layton took the lead going into turn one but Collett had a strong run off of turn two and regained the top spot. Wheel-to-wheel going into turn three and Layton dove to the bottom and passed Collett once again. Suddenly, Dave Ely moved into picture and challenged Collett for second.

Layton quickly pulled off a commanding lead to leave Collett and Ely battling for second. Michael Carber and Randy West followed to make up the top five.

At the halfway point of the race, the top five remained unchanged. By lap seventeen, JJ Grasso (who went to the rear on lap three) was on a charge and racing in sixth.

The final caution of the race came on lap twenty-two when Curt Michael who was running seventh at the time, stopped on the homestretch when the rear went out on the Bill Gallagher owned 5g.

Green flag racing resumed and Layton was continuing his Sunday drive on a Friday night at Williams Grove. With two laps remaining, Layton pulled off a twelve car length lead as he passed the start-finish line with just two laps remaining. With the white flag waiving, Grasso brought the fans to their feet as he continued his rim-riding drive and slipped into fifth.

With the checker flag waiving, Chad Layton dashed under the wire to score an impressive victory with Justin Collett second, Dave Ely third, Michael Carber fourth and Grasso fifth.

While it was a great night of racing at Williams Grove, it was not such a good night for two other URC drivers. Gary Gollub took a nasty flip in turn three during the running of the "B" Main. Gollub did walk away uninjured. Ed Aikin had a strong ride to win his heat and earn a front row starting position in the feature event. Aikin took the green then immediately pulled to the pits with engine trouble. Aikin is always a strong runner and a favorite at the Williams Grove Speedway.

LikeWise Construction Fast Time of the Night- - - Randy West #56M
Fred's Trailer Parts Hard Charger of the Night- - - Kramer Williamson #00/Advanced 10 spots
Don Ott "B" Award- - - Curt Michael #5g

FEATURE FINISH: Chad Layton, Justin Collett, Dave Ely, Michael Carber, JJ Grasso, Joey Biasi, Randy West, Chris Coyle, Mark Bitner, Kyle Purks, Robbie Stillwaggon, Alain Bergeron, Jason Clauss, Kramer Williamson, Scott Pursell, Rory Janney, Jimmy Reppert, Brett Schoenly, Curt Michael, Davey Sammons, Joe Zuczek, Jon Eldreth, David Gravel, Ed Aikin. DNQ- -Ryan Bohlke,  amie Bodo, Jim Walters, Chuck Palmucci, Becca Anderson, Johnny Zimmerman, Josh Weller, Trevor Lewis, Gary Gollub.

URC did announce earlier in the week that Jason Johnson was planning to complete with URC following his Tuesday night, $56,000 victory at Williams Grove. Due to some television commitments, Johnson arrived at the speedway but not in a position to compete.

URC Eyes Two Race Weekend at the Grove and Delaware International. . . .
JASON JOHNSON ADDED TO URC ROSTER FOR WILLIAMS GROVE ON FRIDAY NIGHT

The Rislone URC Sprint Series will offer a two race weekend with their  first stop at the Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night followed by  a return visit to the Delaware International Speedway in Delmar, DE on  Saturday night. Along with all the top talent of URC, look for Jason  Johnson of Eunice, LA to also be in the field. Johnson won the  Tuesday night Kasey Kahne Foundation race at Williams Grove and earned  a hefty $56,000 for the victory and the richest first place payout in  the history of the Williams Grove Speedway.

Johnson knows the Grove like the back of his hand and should be a top  contender to be in the hunt for the $2,000 winners share of the 25 lap  Rislone URC Sprint feature event. Johnson started fourth in the  feature behind front row starters Tony Stewart and URC point leader  Curt Michael. Stewart was the early race leader before turning the   top spot over to Stevie Smith on lap fourteen. Two laps later,  Johnson was the pace setter. Fred Rahmer who started ninth, moved  into second and did begin to reel in Johnson but just ran short of  time. Johnson was the winner with Rahmer second. Curt Michael  delivered URC's best finish of seventh with Dave Ely tenth.

With Johnson in the URC line-up on Friday night at the Grove, it  should prove interesting to see if he can pull off a repeat win.  This will be a point race so URC's four time feature winner JJ "The  Jersey Jet" Grasso will be in the field. Grasso is fast and always  exciting and we'll see if he has anything to offer Johnson. Trevor   Lewis set fast time on Tuesday night and he'll be in the field on  Friday night as well. Lewis will also be looking to take the victory  at the Grove. Ed Aikin, a previous winner of the 360 National event  at Williams Grove will be in the hunt along with three time winner  Dave Ely. Curt Michael, URC's defending champion and current point  leader will be in the field joined by Scott Pursell, Jason Clauss,  Chris Coyle, Becca Anderson and Mark Bitner to name a few.

The URC sprints will then head to the Delaware International Speedway  on Saturday night for a complete racing program of qualifying heats, a  "B" Main and a twenty-five lap feature event. Race time is 7 PM.

JET SIGHTING, GOING IN THE DIRECTION OF LINCOLN SPEEDWAY

There has been a recent jet sighting, heading in the direction of Lincoln Speedway. The color is yellow with some red identification. Sources tell us we can rest easily. The launch took place in Pedricktown, NJ and was traced to the garage of JJ Grasso, a hot shot driving sensation in URC sprint car racing . Grasso named the "Jersey Jet" is URC's only four time feature winner with URC in 2008, winning three events this season at New Egypt Speedway and most recently, a strong and commanding victory last Friday night at the Penn Can Speedway. Grasso likes the tight race tracks, tracks just like the Lincoln Speedway where URC will be competing this Saturday night.

Along with Grasso's strong presence and visits to the URC victory lane, he is also ranked fourth in the Rislone URC Sprint Series point chase. Can Grasso advance from that fourth position? With nine point races still remaining, Grasso is trailing third place driver Chris Coyle by just forty-seven points. Dave Ely is second in the point chase as Curt Michael is URC's top point man going into Lincoln.

Feature winners this season include JJ Grasso, Dave Ely, Mark Bitner, Becca Anderson, Curt Michael, Kenny Adams, Jason Clauss and Blane Heimbach

A field of at least twenty-six URC sprint cars are expected for the Saturday night show at Lincoln Speedway.

Lincoln Speedway is located in Abbottstown, PA. Saturday night, August 16 is Pepsi Night & York County Racing Club Night and race time is set for 7:30 PM. For more information, please visit their website at www.lincolnspeedway.com

URC ADDS AUGUST 23RD DELAWARE INTERNATIONAL DATE TO SCHEDULE

Following the recent rain out at the Delaware International Speedway on Saturday, August 2nd, track promoter Charlie Cathell found an opening in his schedule to bring the URC sprints back to Delaware on Saturday night, August 23. In 2008, the Rislone URC sprint series has experienced seven rain outs, following the 2007 campaign that ran off free of any rain outs. Delaware International Speedway in Delmar, DE usually holds the most URC events each season, but in 2008, Mother Nature has not been a friend to URC in the first state.

With five URC race dates on the schedule at Delaware International, Curt Michael and Becca Anderson each have a single win with three dates falling to rain. In an attempt make-up for the rain outs, URC will be  at Delaware International on Saturday night, August 23rd, Saturday, September 6 and again on Saturday, September 20.

For the balance of August, URC will be part of the features only program at the Grandview Speedway on Tuesday night, August 12th followed by a visit to the Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, August 19, Williams Grove on Tuesday, August 19 and again on Friday, August 22. Delaware International will host URC on Saturday night, August 23rd and New Egypt on Saturday, August 30.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE---THANK YOU

JJ GRASSO MAKES WINNING LOOK EASY, CLAIMS FOURTH URC WIN OF 2008 FRIDAY NIGHT AT PENN CAN

SUSQUEHANNA, PA   . . . . . . .JJ Grasso, the "Jersey Jet" of Pedricktown, NJ  scored his fourth Rislone URC sprint feature win of the season on Friday night at the Penn Can Speedway.  Grasso, URC's only four time feature winner won his qualifying heat race, then dueled in an all out battle with Tim Hogue and Scott Pursell to pocket $2,000 for his victory in the twenty-five lap feature event.

Reed Miller and the entire staff of Penn Can Speedway pulled off the near impossible, beating out a determined Mother Nature who dropped rain on the speedway on and off during the night.  Three heat race events were presented for URC with victories going to Scott Pursell, Tim Hogue and JJ Grasso.  This event is part of the Valley Forge Inc Pennsylvania point series.

In the Rislone URC sprint feature, Scott Pursell set the pace for the first nine lap with Tim Hogue taking the lead on lap ten.  The leaders were already racing in lapped traffic and JJ Grasso took advantage to move in on the leaders.   By lap twelve, Grasso was setting the pace with Hogue, Pursell, Ed Aikin and Becca Anderson making up the top five.

The leaders were deep into lap traffic and on the racey three-eights Penn Can Speedway, each lap kept the fans on the edge of their seats. Grasso did an excellent job threading his way through traffic and Pursell followed to move into second on lap thirteen.  Tim Hogue dropped to third but stayed in sight of the leaders.  On lap nineteen, Hogue powered into second and set his sights on Grasso.

The first caution of the feature was displayed on lap twenty when Howard Singer and Becca Anderson tangled in turn three.  On the restart, Grasso bolted into turn one and Hogue eyed the inside line for a shot at the leader.  Then on lap twenty-one, a three car tangle in turn four brought out the red flag.   Danny Massey flipped after contact with Dave Ely and Dave Gravel.
