CHECKERED FLAG CHARITY AUCTION RESULTS FROM MOTORSPORTS 2008 STILL BEING TALLIED

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ - February 24, 2008. . . Good news is still rolling in from the Motorsports 2008 presented by VP Racing Fuels held Jan. 18-20 at the Atlantic City Convention Center.

The Checkered Flag Auction results are still being tallied. Preliminary reports show that donations to the 2008 auction to benefit The RAACE Foundation rose to over $8,000 and still counting.

The top dollar items included: a 1/16th scale diecast GMP 1965 sprint car autographed by AJ Foyt which went for $275, a race used piece of sheet metal from Carl Edwards No. 60 Busch car at $300, a 1/43rd scale diecast 1955 modified autographed by Mario Andretti raised $155, Butlerbuilt’s barstool from the movie "Cars" premier was a bargain at $155.00, and a burly piece of race used Tony Stewart sheet metal recorded a sound $205 donation.

"The RAACE Foundation or The Race Against Abuse of Children Everywhere launched its 2008 fundraising campaign at Motorsports 2008 entitled 'The RAACE to $2,000,000' and those funds donated by Ron Hubscher and his team are a great start" says Outreach Director Brad Brickel.

"Reaching the goal is very important to The RAACE Foundation as 60% of the funds we raise in The RAACE to $2,000,000 will go back into local Child Advocacy Centers for use on their own awareness materials. The other 40% will be used by The RAACE Foundation to continue its awareness campaign at race tracks, trade shows and other motorsports events throughout the country," Brickel added.

"Child Advocacy Centers (CAC’s) are child-friendly facilities where child victims of maltreatment may be interviewed, undergo medical examinations, and receive therapy. A CAC coordinates medical, law enforcement, social services, prosecution, mental health, and victim advocacy resources which work together in the investigation, treatment, management and prosecution of child abuse cases. The main goal of any CAC is to ensure that children are not re-victimized by the very system designed to protect them," says Victoria Brooks, Programs and Services Director at The RAACE Foundation.

The RAACE Foundation celebrating its fourth anniversary wants to acknowledge all of the companies, race teams and drivers which contributed to the 2008 Checkered Flag Auction. They appreciate your continued support and would like to announce that once again the 2009 Checkered Flag Auction will benefit The RAACE Foundation. It will take courage, determination and the efforts of many like those at Motorsports 2008 to make a difference in the fight against child sexual abuse.

The RAACE Foundation needs your continued support, because it is the right thing to do. To make a donation of services, event tickets, vacation packages; race used helmets, driver suits, or sheet metal; autographed memorabilia or collectible merchandise to the 2009 Checkered Flag Auction to benefit The RAACE Foundation contact Ron Hubscher at 609-575-8138 anytime.

The RAACE Foundation (Race Against Abuse of Children Everywhere) is a non-profit (501c3) organization dedicated to fighting the epidemic of child sexual abuse by raising public awareness.

An estimated 39 million survivors of child sexual abuse exist in America today. Statistics indicate that 1 in 3 girls and 1 in 7 boys are sexually abused before the age of 18. In 90% of reported cases, the abuser is someone the child knows and trusts.

By bringing to light the prevalence of child sexual abuse, The RAACE Foundation hopes to lessen the social stigma associated with addressing this troubling and destructive social issue. Only when the problem of sexual  abuse is faced openly can we hope to protect our children. For more information on The RAACE Foundation, please visit www.raace.org  or call 1-800-755-KIDS.

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ January 21, 2008 . . . Huge crowds charged through the turnstiles for another blockbuster Motorsports 2008 Race Car Show presented by VP Racing Fuels at the beautiful Atlantic City Convention Center this past weekend.
Show attendees were able to see more than 250 motorsports vehicles on display throughout the 300,000 square foot show area. In addition there were more than 600 exhibit areas where attendees were able to see just about everything imaginable in motorsports.
Several well known NASCAR racers were on hand for FREE autograph sessions that drew outstanding crowds including Ken Schrader (who also raced in the SoBe Life Water Indoor racing events on Friday night at Boardwalk Hall), Martin Truex, Jr., Casey Mears, Dave Blaney, Ron Hornaday, and Kenny Wallace. Sprint car racing legend Doug Wolfgang was also a popular attraction at the show.

One of the hugely popular attractions during the show was the Friday morning (January 18th) stage show featuring Kenny Wallace and Kenny Schrader responding to questions from the large number of fans on hand.
In the always popular U.S. Tobacco Ms. Motorsports contest Miss Tiffany Skias, an 18-year-old Millersville, PA University student, was the winner.

Representing the Skias family the Math Education major was a popular winner in the 23rd edition of the Ms. Motorsports contest.
The 5’2”, 102 pound beauty, making just her first try in the contest, resides in Wernersville, Pa and is the daughter of 270cc/600cc Micro Sprint racer Pete Skias. Her grandfather, Chris Skias, was a popular Modified stock car racer at the old Reading, PA Fairgrounds Speedway.

Brothers Mike and Nick Skias also race Micro Sprints.

Tiffany was a rookie racer in 270 Micro Sprints at Linda’s Speedway in Jonestown, PA. “I am working my way up. I was able to get a third place finish for my best effort in 2007, “said Skias. “We are looking at running other tracks this season in addition to Linda’s.”

Her favorite driver is her boyfriend, Cody Darrah, who is also an outstanding Micro racing talent.
Other hobbies for the new Ms. Motorsports include dancing and cheerleading.

“I am very excited about winning and really looking forward to representing the show at personal appearances throughout the season,” Skias said. “I would love it if this could lead to other career opportunities in the sport.”
Skias also took first place honors in the Swimwear competition.

First runner-up was Alyssa Sharman with Loralyn Brinster taking second runner-up honors.
Lindsay Clynne was named Miss Congeniality.

Most Photogenic honors went to Clara Henson while Sportswear honors went to Lindsay Clynne giving her top honors in two divisions of competition.

Tiffany Skias earned $1,500 in cash as Ms Motorsports along with $500 from FantaSea Resorts for her win in the Swimwear competition. In addition she took home a Design 500 jacket and a poster deal, worth $1,000, courtesy of Area Auto Racing News.
Long time Ms. Motorsports Master of Ceremonies Ernie Saxton announced his retirement from that position after 22 years on the job.

“It was time,” said Saxton. “I have had a wonderful time MCing the event. I have met a lot of wonderful young ladies and really got a kick out of entertaining the show attendees. However my duties with the Promoter’s Summit and my show public relations work just does not allow me the amount of time needed to do a proper job.

“Don’t get me wrong, I am not leaving the show I am just devoting my efforts to other areas. The Ms. Motorsports pageant is in good hands with new MC Shane Andrews.”

Saxton was presented with a plaque recognizing his 22 years of service.

The three day show, Friday thru Sunday, at the A.C. Convention Center offered more than two dozen seminars covering a variety of subjects,

Special “Best of Show” awards were presented to:

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ January 21, 2008... A strong turnout of track promoters and organization officials were on hand for the first Promoter’s Summit presented as part of the huge Motorsports 2008 Race Car Show presented by VP Racing Fuels at the Atlantic City, NJ Convention Center.

The atmosphere of the gathering was upbeat with a lot of idea sharing going on amongst the attendees representing tracks and organizations in 13 different states.

“We feel it was a great first time event. We had good reviews from the attendees,” said Summit organizer Ernie Saxton. “We can see some areas that we need to change. It was exciting to see the exchange of information that went on between attendees and the various experts that served on the various panels.”

There was a lot of participation by attendees as they filled their Promoter’s Summit notebooks and asked the long list of seminar presenters many, many questions.

NASCAR, ASA, WSIB Insurance, K&K Insurance and VP Racing Fuels sponsored hospitality events that offered networking opportunities.

Keynote speakers were Dennis Huth of ASA and Jim Hunter of NASCAR. Both spoke on the state of the short track auto racing industry and responded to questions by attendees.

Some of the subjects included during the two day Summit included:
“It’s easier to steal a good idea than to think it up yourself.”
“A racer’s viewpoint.”
“Working with the media.”
“Race track legal issues”
“Community Relations.”
“Track Management Software Program.”
“Promoters Speak.”
And more.

Plans for the 2009 edition of the Promoter’s Summit are already on the drawing board with new subjects to be covered and other activities to be added. SECOND ANNUAL 600SCENE.COM ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION SET FOR MOTORSPORTS 2008 PRESENTED BY VP RACING FUELS AT A.C.

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ December 5, 2007 .. . . 600Scene.com is pleased to announce the Second Annual 600cc Roundtable Discussion to be held at Motorsports 2008 presented by VP Racing Fuels in Atlantic City, N.J., on Sat., Jan. 19. The discussion will be held from 1:30-3:00 p.m. at the Atlantic City Convention Center.

The discussion will be on the current state of the class and an outline of the new universal rules package. This year¹s panel will include industry anufacturers Mike Dicely (Hyper Racing), Terry Schaeffer (RTS Chassis), Brett Schoenly (SB3 RaceCars) and a representative from Stallard Chassis. Engine Builder Jim Dunckley (Speep Equipment Corp.) and industry representative Kevin Steele (600Scene.com) will also be on the panel. Track owners will be represented by Brad Hostetter (Pa.‘s Trail-Way Speedway) and John Winsett (Pa.‘s Path Valley Speedway). New to this year’s roundtable, Warren “Trip” Kone, familiar to all 600cc competitors in the area will serve as the moderator of the discussion.

“It will be an open forum like last year, with “Trip” moderating being the only difference. I am sure a variety of topics will be discussed. The new “universal engine” rules will probably be a large area of focus, but I want everyone to understand that any and all topics are up for discussion. I believe this year’s event is a half-hour longer than last year’s.  “It is going to be a great venue to bring everybody up to speed on some of the gray areas that may still exist with the adoption of the new universal engine rules. I know the connecting rod issue and the use of different year wiring harnesses have been hot topics and this will be the time for those issues to be addressed,” stated Kevin Steele of 600Scene.com.

Motorsports 2008 presented by VP Racing Fuels is a Len Sammons Motorsports Production and will be held on Jan. 18-20 in conjunction with the Jan. 18 & 19 "Gambler's Classic" Atlantic City Indoor races at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J., featuring M&R Midgets (TQ Midgets and 600cc Micro-Sprints), Slingshots and Champ Karts.

NASCAR CRAFTSMAN TRUCK SERIES CHAMPION RON HORNADAY TO BE A BIG PART OF MOTORSPORTS 2008 PRESENTED BY VP FUELS

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ December 3, 2007 . . . Three-time NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion Ron Hornaday will be appearing at the Motorsports 2008 Race Car Show presented by VP Racing Fuels at the Atlantic City, NJ Convention Center.
Hornaday, who nosed out Mike Skinner by just 54 points in the final event of the season at Homestead-Miami Speedway, will be visiting with fans and signing autographs twice during the three day show that runs from Friday, January 18th through Sunday, January 20th.

The former Californian will sign autographs from 2 pm to 4 pm on Saturday, January 19th and then will return to sign autographs on Sunday, January 20th from 12 noon until 2 pm.

Hornaday has been part of the Craftsman Truck Series since its inception and also won the championship in 1996, driving for Dale Earnhardt Inc. and then again in 1998 also for DEI.

The 49-year-old racer has also dabbled in Nextel Cup and Busch Series racing but his real success has come in the Craftsman Trucks earning more than $5.2 million during his Truck racing career.

The three Truck championships now give Hornaday five NASCAR titles as he also has won two NASCAR Southwest Tour championships.

At the recent awards banquet honoring him as the champion Hornaday told the attendees, “I hope this proves that I can still get it done. When I drive and get behind the wheel of Kevin and Delana’s truck (the Harvicks own the Chevy Silverado driven by Hornaday), it made me feel like I was an 18 or 19 year old kid. I just enjoy it, it is so much fun and I have a grin every lap.”
Hornaday’s winnings for the 2007 season set a single season record for the Craftsman Trucks with $1,137,044 earned including point fund money and special awards.

Hornaday will be joining a long list of racers and personalities that will be part of the annual Motorsports show.

The 23rd annual Len Sammons Productions Motorsports Race Car Show has
something for everyone in the sport and so much more. Race enthusiasts will
again be able to enjoy the Motorsports show by day and see live auto racing
events during the evening.

Indoor auto racing featuring the “Gambler’s Classic” presented by Pepsi Three-Quarter Midgets/600cc Micro Sprints will be the attraction at the Boardwalk Hall, located four blocks from the Convention Center, on January 18 and 19.
Additional details regarding Motorsports 2008 and the Gambler’s Classic
indoor auto racing events will be announced as they are finalized.
Information on Motorsports 2008 or the indoor racing is available at www.aarn.com  or by calling 609-888-3618. That website also has special show hotel room rates and details on exhibiting at the event.

CHAMP KART ENTRIES OVERFLOWING FOR GAMBLER’S CLASSIC AT ATLANTIC CITY’S BOARDWALK HALL

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ - November 20, 2007 . . . Champ Kart racers have responded in great numbers for the Sixth Annual “Gambler’s Classic” Indoor Race presented by Pepsi.
As of Nov. 20, over 50 karters had filed pre-entries for the event to be held Jan. 18 & 19, 2008 on the concrete floor inside Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J.
Len Sammons Motorsports Productions, which presents the indoor racing in Atlantic City, set a maximum number of entries at 50 for the Champ Kart and Slingshot divisions.
However, they will continue to take entries through Dec. 1, when an overall count of entered competitors from the Slingshot and M&R TQ Midgets/600cc Micro-Sprints will be taken.
“At that point, we’ll decide if it is feasible to take on more Champ Karts, “Len Sammons explained.
Sammons encourages all potential Champ Kart racers to continue sending entries. They will be retained in the order of arrival. Entry-fee checks for those drivers not making the initial cutoff will not be processed.

NASCAR VP JIM HUNTER TO BE KEYNOTE SPEAKER AT FIRST ANNUAL PROMOTER’S SUMMIT PART OF MOTORSPORTS 2008

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ OCTOBER 28, 2007 . . . Registrations are coming in at a very quick pace for the first annual Promoter’s Summit despite the fact it is almost three months away.
The Promoter’s Summit is set for January 18-19 as part of the three day Motorsports 2008 presented by VP Racing Fuels Race Car Show set for the plush Atlantic City, NJ Convention Hall.
Jim Hunter, VP of Corporate Communications for NASCAR, will be a keynote speaker. He will be sharing his thoughts about the state of local short track racing and what promoters can be doing to improve the sport, attract more fans and sponsorship support.
NASCAR, for the first time in the 22 year history of the motorsports show, will have a huge presence.
Area Auto Racing News columnist Guy Smith will certainly have promoters paying attention when he talks about what he has found wrong with auto racing events during his visits to more than 1,000 motorsports facilities. Smith will discuss what he and other Track Chasers feel would help make the events better and put more fans in the grandstands.
New Jersey’s Motor Racing Control Unit will be a part of a panel discussion that deals with safety concerns. The State of New Jersey has control of all auto racing events in the Garden State. Additional panel members, including Hall of Fame sprint car racer Doug Wolfgang, will be included in this important discussion about safety which not be restricted to just New Jersey.
Wiley, Malehorn Sirota and Raynes, a law firm, will be talking about legal issues facing the industry and will be taking questions from the audience. If you know the cost of legal advice these days you know that this session could very well pay for the trip to Atlantic City.
Veteran United States Auto Club scorer Barbara Hellyer will offer her thoughts on transponders and manual scoring. She has been involved in scoring for more than 30 years.
There will also be presentations covering sponsorship, group rates, announcers, working with the media, crate motors, track management software, concessions, community relations, using the Internet, and more.
The Promoter’s Summit is FREE to one promoter/organization official and a guest from each speedway or sanctioning organization. In addition to the Summit there will be social events, Friday night indoor auto racing and the Motorsports 2008 show.
Speedway and organization staff members are invited to attend the Summit and can obtain registration information at 609.888.3618.
“We are really putting together a great two days of seminars and presentations that will be of interest to the promoters and their staff members,” said Summit organizer Ernie Saxton. “We are still finalizing the agenda but we are very confident it will be an information fill two days that will be worth attending.
“I would be happy to hear from promoters with any suggestions they have.”
Saxton can be reached at 215.752.7797 or e-mail Esaxton144@aol.com
VP Racing Fuels, K&K Insurance and NASCAR are involved as sponsors of the Promoter’s Summit and there are opportunities for sponsorship that remain available by telephoning Saxton.

ENTRY FORMS NOW AVAILABLE FOR JAN. 18-19 “GAMBLERS CLASSIC” INDOOR AUTO RACING EVENTS

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ October 12, 2007 …. Entry forms are now available for the Sixth Annual “Gambler’s Classic” Indoor Auto Race presented by Pepsi.

The popular, mid-winter indoor racing extravaganza is set for Jan. 18 & 19, 2008 on the concrete floor inside Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J. Again, the combined M&R Products Three Quarter Midgets/600cc Micro-Sprints will headline the racing activity, with the Slingshots and Champ Karts filling out the three-division card.

The 2008 running of the Len Sammons Motorsports Productions “Gambler’s Classic’ is already building momentum after a successful 2007 edition - the first time the indoor racing activity was held in conjunction with the Motorsports Show presented by VP Racing Fuels at the neighboring Atlantic City Convention Center.

The show and the race will be held on the same weekend again this year. “We’ve had tremendous early interest in the Indoor Race,“ said Len Sammons, who brought racing back to Boardwalk Hall in 2003 after a two-decade absence. “With growing support for the race and the show, the 2008 weekend looks to be the best to date.”

Entry forms for each of the three divisions are available online at: www.aarn.com

Competitors who raced at Boardwalk Hall last January will receive entry forms and race info in the mail.

Due to time and pit-area space limitations, only 100 entries will be taken in the TQ/600cc division, while the first 50 entries in the Slingshot and Champ Kart divisions will be accepted.

In 2007, all three divisions were filled before race weekend.

“It’s important for racers to get their entries in early,” Sammons stressed. Early entries for the 2008 running include dirt-track Modified standouts Billy Pauch and Jeff Heotzler (the race’s 2005 winner).

Last year, Joey Payne edged Lou Cicconi Jr. in a down-to-the-wire photo finish. Both Payne and Cicconi are expected back to resume their battle at Boardwalk Hall.

Again this season, lucrative special awards will be presented to the M&R Midget competitors, thanks to longtime event supporters Ray McCabe and Dr. William Lowe.

Among the highlighted awards are the $393.39 Larry Michaels Fast Time, $555.55 Doug Craig Hard Charger, the “Gambler¹s Consolation” Award and Nick Fornoro Green Flag Award.

For more information on the “Gambler¹s Classic” Indoor Auto Race presented by Pepsi or to sponsor an award or lap, contact Danny Sammons by phone during business hours at: (609) 888-3618 or via e-mail at: danny@aarn.com.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH WEEKLY SHORT TRACK RACING? JUST ASK A FAN AND LISTEN

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ September 7, 2007 . . . If you want to know what is wrong with local short track auto racing, just ask a fan. However be ready to listen to a long list of problems and the list will vary according who is answering, the diehard or the fringe fan.
Fortunately for the sport of short track auto racing the diehard fan puts up with just about anything. That is the good news. The bad news is that the diehard fans are getting harder to find.
The fringe fan, the one that comes out to the local short track once in a while, is what the sport needs to survive. And to prosper it needs new fans. Unfortunately the industry is not doing a very good job of attracting new fans and it is not doing a good enough job to please the diehards and the fringe fans. The result has been dwindling attendance figures and short track racing, in many areas, has turned into a back gate driven sport.
“Don’t get me wrong. There are a lot of very successful weekly short track operations around the nation,” said Ernie Saxton who is organizing a Promoter’s Summit which will be part of the 23rd annual Motorsports 2008 presented by VP Racing Fuels Race Car Show at Atlantic City, NJ’s Convention Center. The show takes place January 18-20th, 2008. “Those who have put a lot of attention to promotion, group ticket sales, sponsorship and controlling costs are successful. We hope to be able to show how they are doing that as part of the Promoter’s Summit.”
All of this and more will be addressed when the first Promoter’s Summit is presented by Len Sammons Productions. Sammons has a long history of successful promotions including the Motor sports show and the indoor auto racing events in Atlantic City.
“We have invited more than 250 promoters and their key people to be part of the Summit and early response has been very strong,” said Sammons. “The promoters and a guest are invited at no cost and will be our guest at the Gambler’s Classic Indoor Auto Racing events and Motorsports 2008 as well as a couple of networking opportunities.”
Making this event unique for businesses involved in motorsports is that participating in the show will give exposure to three different audiences; the fan, the racer and the promoter. Exhibit space is now more than seventy percent full. Details are available from Joe Pratt at 609.888.3618

Diehard fans, for the most part, will tell you that things are pretty good at their local short track. They are the fans that show up for just about every event and complain very little. However some of those diehard fans will tell you that all those midweek special shows don’t seem to be so special any more and not worth the increased ticket price.
The fringe fan wants to see cheaper tickets, less divisions of racing, shorter shows, better concession food, better seating, and the list goes on.
And the new fan, who most promoters rarely get to come out, may never say anything if they are not satisfied. They just don’t come back. Promoters will usually only get one chance make the new fan happy. Dirty restrooms, uncomfortable seats, confusing shows, and poor quality food will keep the new fan from returning.
Several key figures in the industry, successful promoters and marketers along with media relations experts will be part of the Promoter’s Summit that will take place January 18th and 19th as part of Motorsports 2008.
More information on the Promoter’s Summit is available from Ernie Saxton at 215.752.7797 or email him at Esaxton144@aol.com.
Complete information on Motorsports 2008 presented by VP Racing Fuels and the Gambler’s Classic Indoor Auto Racing events can be had at www.AARN.com  or telephone 609.888.3618.

ATMOSPHERE IS WHAT MADE THE FLEMINGTON SPEEDWAY DIRT TRACK ERA SO SUCCESSFUL

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ September 6, 2007 . . . N.J.‘s famed Flemington Speedway is no longer in existence, but the memories made there will last forever.

The final race at the 5/8-mile “square” speedway was held on Labor Day of 2000. Ten years before that, the Flemington dirt era ended with a 200-lap event in October 1990. Flemington’s dirt years, with emphasis on its Modified stock cars, will roar back to life at Motorsports 2008 presented by VP Racing Fuels. Motorsports 2008 will present a special “Flemington Speedway Dirt Years Reunion,” with events saluting the track and its racers on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, January 18-20, at the Atlantic City Convention Center. Flemington was not just noted for its great racing, but the atmosphere and excitement that surrounded it.

Steve Barrick, president of Program Dynamics, the company that created the weekly souvenir track magazine, said, “The venue, the covered grandstands of the fairgrounds, the brightly painted facility, how every racer had a story behind him, the fans in the infield, the flying dirt, the fans in the stands with goggles and bandanas, and of course the track magazine, made Flemington Speedway a popular place to be for fans and racers.” The Reunion will feature a special display, organized by the Garden State Vintage Stock Car Club, of race cars that competed at Flemington. The exhibit, which includes track memorabilia, will be part of the  300,000 square feet that make up the Motorsports show.

Special show events, that will include appearances by many of the headline drivers, car owners and officials from the track, will be held all three days of the show.

On Friday, January 18, long time Flemington Speedway promoter Paul Kuhl is planning to be part of a special “Flemington Memories and Tall Tales” story hour. Also looking forward to attending on that Friday are noted drivers Billy Pauch, Ken Brenn Jr., Sammy Beavers, Gerald Chamberlain and others to be announced.

Then 20 of Flemington¹s all-time greatest dirt Modified racers will be at the show for a special autograph session on Saturday afternoon. These drivers will sign special free commemorative Flemington Speedway artwork reproductions, being designed by  historic racing artist John Dusk. These black and white prints will also be available for sale in full-color. The list of drivers attendingwill be announced prior to the event.

The GRAND REUNION will take place on Sunday the 20th, with competitors from all divisions that raced at the legendary dirt “square” invited to participate. All drivers and officials will be recognized, and a special slide photo presentation of Flemington racing action will be shown. Many of the top performers will be interviewed and there will be ample autograph
opportunities for fans.

A special area will be set aside for those fans and competitors that wish to share their scrapbooks and photos that depict Flemington history.

And before the three-day Flemington Speedway Dirt Era reunion is complete, a group photo will be taken late in the day on Sunday. The 23rd annual Len Sammons Productions Motorsports Race Car Show has something for everyone in the sport and so much more. Race enthusiasts will again be able to enjoy the Motorsports show by day and see live auto racing events during the evening. Indoor  auto racing featuring the Three-Quarter Midgets/600cc Micro Sprints will be the attraction at the Boardwalk Hall, located four blocks from the Convention Center, on January 18 and 19.

Additional details regarding Motorsports 2008 and the Gambler’s Classic indoor auto racing events will be announced as they are finalized. Information on the Flemington Speedway Dirt Era Reunion, Motorsports 2008 or the indoor racing are available at www.aarn.com  or by calling 609-888-3618. That website also has special show hotel room rates and details on exhibiting at the event.

HUGE CROWD EXPECTED FOR A.C. INDOORS, TICKETS ON SALE

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ…JULY 27, 2007 - Remember the huge crowd that jammed Atlantic City's
Boardwalk Hall last January for the 'Gambler's Classic' indoor auto racing when Joey Payne just nipped Lou Cicconi Jr. in a photo finish to the Saturday-night headliner?
It's expected to be even larger in 2008.
The sixth running of the Len Sammons Motorsports Productions 'Gambler's Classic' is set for the concrete floor of Boardwalk Hall on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 18-19, 2008. The Three-Quarter Midgets/600cc Micro-Sprints will be back to serve as top billing, while Slingshots and Champ Karts will fill out the two-day racing menu.
Again, the indoor auto racing will be held in conjunction with the Motorsports 2008 presented by VP Racing Fuels show at the nearby Atlantic City Convention Center, just blocks away.
Tickets go on sale tentatively Aug. 8, at which time race fans can begin reserving their seats for the '08 running of the event.
"We know from all the positive feedback we received last year that our fans left Boardwalk Hall looking for more," said Len Sammons, event promoter, noting the excitement of the racing and timeliness of both shows.
"We're expecting a standout crowd for the 2008 running of the 'Gambler's Classic.'"
Saturday night's lower level sold out in advance last year. Because of that - and by request of fans to have the same seat on both nights this year - lower-level reserved seats will be on sale for Friday night's events for the first time ever. Friday prices are $22 (reserved), $17 (general admission) and $10 (kids, ages 2-12).
For Saturday night, lower-level reserved seats will be $25, with general admission at $20 and kids $12. Reserved seats will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
To purchase tickets in advance, contact the Area Auto Racing News office beginning Aug. 8 at (609) 888-3618 or use Ticketmaster.
For further information on the 'Gambler's Classic,' contact Danny Sammons at (609) 888-3618 or via e-mail at danny@aarn.com. Sponsorship opportunities are available for the 'Gambler's Classic.' All inquiries should be directed to Danny Sammons.
To reserve rooms, special rates are available, or get a more detailed preview of the weekend's activities, go to www.aarn.com.
For racers, an information packet will be sent out in late August or early September.

VP RACING FUELS WILL BE AN IMPORTANT PART OF MOTORSPORTS 2008 SHOW IN ATLANTIC CITY

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ June 15, 2007 . . . The philosophy of VP Racing Fuels is simple; make more power than the other guys and the wins and the championships will follow. It has been that way for more than 30 years in all forms of motorsports. Operating from their regional sales and distribution facility in Newark, Delaware, VP returns for the their third year as sponsor of Motorsports 2008, the 23rd annual mid-winter motorsports extravaganza scheduled for January 18th thru 20th at the plush Atlantic City Convention Center.
“We like to think that VP has gotten involved with our show because we also have a winning philosophy,” said show organizer Len Sammons. “Each year we have made improvements, grown in size, encompass all segments of the sport. We continue to take steps that we feel make the Motorsports 2008 presented by VP Racing Fuels show a winner.”
VP works directly with racers at the track and on their dynos. It’s how they started and continues to be their M.O. these days, with most of their R&D accomplished in this manner.
Again at Motorsports 2008 VP will have a huge display in place and many of their key people will be at the show to answer questions and talk about the many products they offer.
VP offers more than 60 blends of racing fuels along with both synthetic and specialty oils, a variety of chemicals (coolants and fuel additives) plus accessories. Check out their website at www.vpracingfuels.com.
Results speak for themselves when it comes to VP. It has now been 31 years since another fuel company has won an NHRA Pro Stock Championship and several years since another fuel company has even finished on the podium for an AMA Championship.
At Motorsports 2008 Bubba Clem, best known as SIRIUS satellite radio’s “Bubba The Love Sponge”® will appear for two of the three show days. The outrageous radio program, hosted by Bubba, is heard daily on SIRIUS’ Howard Stern channel Howard 101 and around the world via the internet. Clem, who drives the Miller Lite 101 VP-fueled dirt late model at East Bay Speedway in Tampa, Florida, has attracted a diversified list of guests including everyone from NASCAR’s Tony Stewart to some of drag racing’s best and even champion wrestler Hulk Hogan.
“Bubba The Love Sponge”® will appear in the VP Racing Fuels booth for two hours on Friday, January 18th and again on Saturday, January 19th. His Miller Lite Late Model will be on display all weekend.
The show, featuring just about everything imaginable in motorsports, will again fill more than 275,000 square fee of the Atlantic City Convention Center.
There is limited display space remaining for the show. Exhibitors wishing to participate in this hugely successful show should be in touch with Joe Pratt (Show Manager) at 609.888.3618 as soon as possible.
Again in 2008 there will be indoor auto racing taking place at the nearby Boardwalk Hall on January 18th and 19th.
Many hotels in the Atlantic City area, convenient to the show, will be offering special discount rates for rooms. Reservations must be made well in advance to insure availability at the special prices. Information on the show, indoor auto races and discount hotel rooms is available at www.aarn.com.
