DOMINICK CASOLA TO DRIVE CORRIE STOTT ENTRY AT DOVER INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY

HOLMDEL, NJ/DOVER, DELAWARE. . . March 21, 2008. . Dominick Casola is taking his auto racing career to the next level.
The Holmdel, NJ racer, who used to race trucks at Wall Township, NJ Speedway, will be attempting to qualify a Chevy, prepared by Corrie Stott Racing, for the May 31st NASCAR “Heluva Good! 200” Nationwide race at Dover International Speedway. Stott, son of the legendary stock car racer Ramo Stott, has his team headquartered in Denver, NC. The Stott team has been fielding race cars in ARCA RE/MAX for a few years and has had cars in the NASCAR Nationwide circuit, the number two most popular form of racing in the nation.
A veteran competitor in the ARCA RE/MAX Series Casola will be making his first attempt at racing in a Nationwide race.
“It will be tough to make the field but it is the next step of competition for me,” said Casola. “I believe in my abilities as a driver and I know that Corrie Stott will give me a great car.”
The young racing talent has been running the last two seasons on the tough ARCA RE/MAX Series. He finished 13th in the final standings in 2007 despite missing the first race of the season at Daytona.
This season Dominick has been driving the A.Casola Farms Dodge prepared by Win-Tron Racing of Minnesota. After a streak of tough luck the team was able to come up with a strong 10th place finish in a recent event at Kentucky Speedway.
“Though I have never driven at Dover,” commented Casola. “I have seen some Cup races at the track and I have raced the Dover track at home using my racing simulator.
“A race track is a race track even if it is made of wood. The concrete surface at Dover will be a little different from the tracks I am used to. Concrete tracks are not as temperature sensitive as asphalt, they are a little more challenging but I feel I will be up for it. I really feel that I can do well in the 200-mile race once we make the starting field.
“I watched a Cup race at Dover back in 2002 and I was in awe. Now to be on the other side of the fence is just unbelievable to me. To be able to be there for a Nationwide series race is something I just never thought I would be able to do. This is a dream come true.”
Practice will take place on Friday, May 30th, 9 am to 10 am and again at 1:15 pm to 3 pm. Qualifying is set for Saturday, May 31st at 10:35 am.
The Heluva Good! 200 will be broadcast live on Saturday, May 31st on ESPN2 at 2:30 pm and heard on the Motor Racing Network.
Sponsorship, at a very reasonable cost, is available for the nationally televised event. For information telephone Dominick Casola at 908.601.6590.
After the Dover Nationwide race Casola will next race in the ARCA 200 at his home track Pocono Raceway on June 7th with the Win-Tron Racing prepared A.Casola Farms Dodge.
-End-

MEDIA NOTE: Casola is available for media interviews. He will be making a personal appearance in the Velocity Suite, part of the skybox complex, on behalf of Dover International Speedway early on Saturday afternoon, May 31.

DOMINICK CASOLA A VICTIM OF SOMEONE ELSE’S MISTAKE

DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA February 10, 2008 . . . Young Dominick Casola was satisfied with his qualifying effort for the ARCA 200 at Daytona International Speedway. Even though they had to change an engine after a pre-qualifying practice session Casola was still able to run a 178.916 mph lap to qualify 18th out of 65 cars that were trying for the 43 starting positions.
Casola, a 13th place finisher in the final 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series point standings, was making his first start at the two and one-half mile high-banked Daytona International Speedway. He had run well in December testing and was excited about his chances in the Saturday evening race.

The former Wall Township, NJ Speedway truck racer got settled in early in the 80-lap event and was getting adjusted to his new A.Casola Farms Dodge mount that had been prepared by Win-Tron Racing (formerly Country Joe Racing) out of Lakeville, MN.
During his 2007 rookie season on the ARCA circuit Casola had run a Ford so the Dodge was a new experience for the talented young racer.

Casola was making a move up through the field from his 18th starting spot and felt that he had a very strong car. However with just 30 laps completed Casola was caught up in the “big one”, a huge wreck that involved 16 cars and eliminated 13 from competition.
The A.Casola Farms Dodge team made four pit stops trying to keep the car in the race despite heavy damage from the accident.
“The crew did a fantastic job of keeping us on the lead lap even though we had to make four stops trying to repair the damage,” said Casola. “Finally the clutch started to slip and there seemed to be a problem with the transmission as a result of the accident and we just decided to take it to the garage.

“It was disappointing because we felt that we had a very strong car. Our race plan was basically to stay with the leaders, stay out of trouble and then go for a strong finish in the final 20-laps. Unfortunately we did not get to do that. That is just part of restrictor plate racing. I do think we have a car and a team that can be a contender for some wins during the 2008 season.”
Casola was credited with finishing 34 laps and that earned him a 33rd place finish.
Last year when he finished 13th in the final season point standings he did not run the opening race at Daytona so he is actually ahead of his 2007 efforts.

Next race for the A.Casola Farms Dodge team is at Salem, Indiana Speedway on Sunday, April 13th.

RICH KUIKEN JR WINS SPONSORSHIP CONTEST WORTH $5,000

LANGHORNE, PA January 24, 2008 . . . NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour racer Rich Kuiken Jr. is a happy young man. His entry in the Chad Sinon Motorsports/Joe Bertothy sponsorship contest took first place and earned him $4,000 in cash along with more than $1,000 in awards.

The Staffordville, NJ racer will carry the Sinon/BPG Racing and Joe Bertothy logos on his race vehicles.
The Kuiken entry won out over more than 170 entries with some coming from as far away as California.
“We had some fantastic entries. A lot of hard work went into many of the sponsorship proposals that were entered in the contest,” said contest organizer Ernie Saxton, publisher of Motorsports Sponsorship Marketing News. “Kuiken’s entry had it all. The offer, the demographics, the media coverage and much more was all presented in a very attractive package. It was one of the best we have seen on this level.”

Kuiken Jr. will race the full NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour along with the huge North-South Shootout in Concord, NC late in the season. If finances will allow the team will also run some of the NASCAR Northern and ASA Southern Modified races.
“It was an honor to win the contest.” said young Kuiken. “Considering there were more than 170 entries it is quite an accomplishment to be the winner. It goes without saying that we will put the money and the awards to good use.”
In addition to the $4,000 cash Kuiken will receive more than $200 worth of Hero Cards courtesy of Chris Budihas’ Racerboy Marketing, a $200 custom helmet paint job by Brian Hirthler’s Four Star Lettering, a website creation from Jay Dugan’s Radical Design valued at more than $500 along with an Ernie Saxton Sponsorship and Consulting package valued at more than $500.
Saxton, along with Sinon, is now considering the possibility of offering another sponsorship contest near the middle of the season.
Ernie Saxton Communications, Inc. offers sponsorship marketing services, public and media relations, custom sponsorship proposals, sponsorship representation and more. ESC, Inc. also publishes the monthly sponsorship newsletter, now in its 24th year, Motorsports Sponsorship Marketing News.

Tidaback's Lifelong Dream Comes Trues In Atlantic City Victory

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ -JANUARY 20,2008 . . . Mike Tidaback could only sum up his "Gambler's Classic" presented by SoBe Life Water victory with three words: "dream come true."

Tidaback, who first attended races at Boardwalk Hall at age five  back in 1973, etched his name in the prestigious list of race  winners on Saturday night, earning $5,000-plus as the victor of the 40-  lap M&R Midget (TQ Midget/600cc Micro-Sprint) headliner. In doing so, the ATQMRA regular upheld the honor of the Three  Quarter Midget contingent against a talent-laden field of  superstars.

"We're kind of waving the ATQMRA flag tonight," quipped the Little  Falls, N.J., driver after celebrating before a near capacity crowd. Tidaback drove an 18-year-old Lindblad Chassis with a Rudy  Boetticher Sr.-built engine.  "We're a small team with me and a couple guys," Tidaback, 39,  surmised, noting the importance of a victory at Boardwalk Hall.  "You run against a lot of the best Northeast guys here. It's big  for us. This is kind of our SuperBowl."

Tidaback started fifth in his No. 43 and used a spectacular move in  lapped traffic to take the lead from Hamilton, N.J.'s Tim Adams at  the halfway mark.

Adams, who had surpassed Canadian James Michael Friesen for the top  spot on a lap-four restart, was momentarily boxed in behind slower  traffic through turns three and four.

Jumping to the outside, Tidaback pulled event at the center of turn  three, nosing ahead on the frontstretch. The cars momentarily  tangled, with Tidaback's car jumping sideways.

Both drivers regained control before entering turn one. "I stuck it on the outside," he recalled. "We came off turn four  side-by-side and I think Timmy (Adams) gave me a wheel. I was  sideways at the start/finish line (to click off lap 20) taking that pass."

Tidaback survived a final scrape with Adams on a restart with three  circuits remaining for his breakthrough Boardwalk Hall triumph,  besting his previous effort of seventh from 2007.

Fairlawn, N.J.'s Joey Payne, the '07 "Gambler's Classic" winner,  fought hard for a second-place finish. Payne started 13th, pitted  to replace a flat tire on a lap-four restart and edged out a  spinning Adams for the runner-up spot.

Adams, who crashed across the finish line, was credited with third,  followed by Bill Davis Development driver Bobby Santos III in Gary  King's No. 1K 600cc Micro-Sprint. The Franklin, Mass., driver was  the first Micro-Sprint across the line.

After winning the C- and B-Mains just to qualify for the feature,  Fort Lee, N.J.'s Frank Polimeda charged to fifth.

Earlier in the night, Aston, Pa.'s Lou Cicconi Jr. earned $500 as  the winner of the 10-lap Behrent's Performance Warehouse Dash- or-  Cash. Cicconi's bid for A-Main glory was derailed by two  backstretch tangles, the second of which knocked him from the event  on lap seven.

Versatile Rich "Toby" Tobias Jr. of Annville, Pa., hopped into a  borrowed car and authored a stirring drive to victory in th 25-lap  Slingshot main event. The creator of the Slingshot division started  22nd, survived a lap-10 spin and charged into the top spot just two circuits from the finish with a bold, turn-three pass of race-long  leader Bobby Butler.

Tobias, who was driving a No. 64x typically wheeled by his nephew,  Paul Lotier Jr., donated his earnings to the National Fragile X  Research Foundation.

Past race winner Ryan Smith was second, followed by Butler, Bill  Van Inwegen Jr. and Steven Intravaia.

Pleasant Valley, N.Y.'s Christopher Daley thwarted a late charge in  the form of North Carolina's Bob Baker to win the 25-lap Champ Kart  main. Baker was a close second.

After a successful event, plans are already in the works for the  2009 running of the "Gambler's Classic" event by Len Sammons  Motorsports Productions.

M&R Midget Feature Finish: Mike Tidaback, Joey Payne, Tim Adams,  Bobby Santos III, Frank Polimeda, Jack Spence, Steve Smith, Rob  Vivona, Mike Lichty, Tim Proctor, Billy Pauch Sr., James Friesen,  Chris DeRitis, Jeff Heotzler, Jeff Kot, Johnny Payne, Danny Shirey,  Greg Cable, Donald Zrinski, Lou Cicconi Jr., Matt Janisch, Erick Rudolph, Mike Iles, Pat Bealer, Stewart Friesen, Monnie Wonder.

Cicconi, Shirey, Adams Win Roaring 20s On Friday At AC

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ ,JANUARY 18, 2008 . . . Lou Cicconi Jr. showed he is poised to better his 2007 runner-up finish by one position this time around.

Cicconi took the checkered first in the final M&R Midget 'Roaring 20' Friday night at Boardwalk Hall during 'A-1 Racing Products presents Qualifying Night,' a prelude to the "Gambler's Classic" presented by SoBe Life Water to be contested on the hall's concrete floor on Saturday (Jan. 19).

Cicconi was second to Joey Payne in the race's '07 running.

Tim Adams and Danny Shirey topped the other 20-lap TQ Midget/600cc Micro-Sprint qualifying events run on Friday night. Aston, Pa.'s Cicconi, the 2004 & '06 winner of the "Gambler's   Classic," took the lead on the opening circuit of the nightcap and  wheeled his Hentrich Bros. No. 75 TQ Midget to a dominant  checkered.

Central Pennsylvania Sprint Car ace Stevie Smith of New Oxford,  Pa., drove to second place in the RAACE Foundation No. 19, a car  built by Cicconi. Micro-Sprint ace Pat Bealer of Walnutport, Pa.,  was third in Jason Van Doren's No. 22, with Bill Davis development  driver Bobby Santos III placing fourth in Gary King's No. 1K Micro  -Sprint.

NASCAR Sprint Cup racer Ken Schrader of Fenton, Mo., driving the  Alan Mollott No. 51, overturned during a lap-13 frontstretch  tangle. Schrader refired the car much to the delight of the crowd, ran a handful of caution laps and retired to the pit area. Late  Model star Rick Eckert is slated to take over the car on Saturday.

Tim Adams, a law enforcement officer in Hamilton, N.J., waits all  year to compete in Boardwalk Hall. His effort paid off with a  victory in the first M&R Products 20-lapper.   Adams's No. 9 inherited the lead when Fort Lee, N.J.'s Frank  Polimeda, who led laps2-17, headed to the pit area. Adams led the  rest of the way to take the checkered first over dirt Modified  racer Mike Iles of Medford, N.J., who surged into second on lap 18.  Ransomville, N.Y., teenager Erick Rudolph, a Western New York  asphalt Modified standout, was third and Mike Tidaback was fourth. Oberlin, Ohio's Danny Shirey, a 17-year-old Supermodified racer,   took the victory in the second 20-lap event driving a Micro-Sprint  he has run indoors on both dirt and pavement, including the  ecent Fort Wayne (Ind.) event.

Shirey took command moments after a multi-car frontstretch crash  that collected a half-dozen cars, then fended off a mid-race charge  from James Michael Friesen to keep his No. 16 out front. Friesen, of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont., settled for second. Johnny  Payne of Milford, Pa., and Jack Spence of Bear, Del., took fourth. The top-four finishers in the 'Roaring 20s' transferred  into Saturday night's 40-lap A-Main.

Dirt Modified legend Billy Pauch of Frenchtown, N.J., set fast time with a lap of 9.217 seconds, besting fellow dirt Mod racer/past event winner Jeff  Heotzler (9.236 seconds). 2007 race winner Joey Payne of Fairlawn,  N.J., was third quick (9.353 seconds), the final time-trialer to be  locked into the A-Main field.

In Slingshot action, Matt Carman of Flemington, N.J., fended off  defending race winner Ryan Smith to take the checkered in the first  of the 'Dirty Dozen' 12-lap qualifiers. In the second 12-lap event, Gary Hieber, 18, of Langhorne, Pa., led from start to finish from  the pole. The final 12-lap 'Dirty Dozen' Slingshot event featured a  crowd-pleasing victory for Nazareth, Pa.'s Tiffany Wambold. The 16 -year-old thwarted a final-lap bid from Jeff Hartman of Flagtown,  N.J.

In the four 12-lap Champ Kart qualifiers, Timmy Solomito of Islip,  N.Y., Coby Cressinger of Selinsgrove, Pa.; Lockport, N.Y.'s Larry  Stolzenberg; and Tammy Smith of Binghamton, N.Y., were victors.
