Elliott Takes Endicott Memorial
Delawares Ricky Elliott took the checkered flag Friday Night March 24, 2006 in
The 40 Lap Budweiser Super Late Model Cody Endicott Memorial at Potomac
Speedway.
Special Thanks to The Endicott Family who presented a $100.00 cash bonus to each
heat race winner, the thirteen place finisher David Williams also picked up a
$100.00, and race winner Ricky Elliot received four tires courtesyof The
Endicott Family.
Twenty One Super Late Models checked into the pit area for Friday Night's Cody
Endicott Memorial.Front row starters Robby Beall and Jamie Lathroum lead the
field to the drop of the green flag with Elliott jumping to the top spot only to
be slowed by caution. With the field set again the green flag flew only to be
stopped by several more cautions. After three attempts fourth pace starter
Elliott took the lead on lap one and never looked back. Elliott, Lathroum did
battle as caution slowed the field on lap three for third place runner Robby
Beall.Set to go, caution flew on laps four and five also and slowed the field.
Elliott leading the field to the green had Lathroum glued to his bumper.Fifth
place starter Jeremy Miller had worked his way into third and set his sights on
Lathroum. Lathroum not giving up the top spot would battle with Miller. Caution
flying on lap fourteen and sixtten slowed the field once more.On the restart its
Elliott, Lathroum , Miller and eight place starter Barry Lear Sr.Seversl green
flag laps showed Elliott was a man on a mission. The close battle was Lathroum
and Miller. Miler just could not make the pass as the two raced side by side for
several laps giving Elliott a three to four car length advantage.Elliott would
continue to lead the final circuits and go onto win The Annual Cody Endicott
Memorial. Jamie Lathroum would come home second, Jeremy Miller third, Barry Lear
Sr fourth and rounding out he top five was Deane Guy.Heats went to Robby Beall
and Ricky Elliott.
In the Coors Light Street Stock feature event it was Eric Johnson picking up the
win.Barry Williams Sr took the early lead and looked like he was on his way to a
feature win, but Johnson spoiled that. Johnson would gp nto win with Barry
Williams Sr secon, third Derick Quade, fourth Dale Hollidge and rounding out the
top five was Rick Jackson, Heats went to Mike Latham and Derick Quade.
The Mid Atlantic Racing Fuel Hobbystocks seen Brian Maxey take the win.Outside
pole siter Charles Rupert looked like he was on his way to his first ever
feature win until a three wide battle between Rupert, Maxey and John Burch would
leave the Rupert and Burch cars getting together on turn four and also
collecting Toy Quade. This put Maxey on top to go on to win the event. Coming
home second was Kyle Nelson, third John Latham, fourth Barry Williams Jr and
rounding out the top five was Josh Wathen. Heats went to Burch and Latham.
The Gunters Honey 4 Cylinders seen Chris McLanigan take the checkered flag over
Greg Gunter, Third went to Patrick McLanigan, fourth Rick Morrison and rounding
out the top five was Jerry Dick. The heat win went to Gunter.
