$51,000 IN CASH DISTRIBUTED AT GALA URC BANQUET SATURDAY

DOVER, DE. . . . . .URC does a lot of things right and Saturday night at the Hotel Sheraton in Dover, DE, they demonstrated just how to throw a first class awards banquet. Other big news includes the popular continuation of sponsorship support from BAR's Leaks and Advance Auto Parts.

Curt Michael, the popular driver from Ocean View, DE captured the 2005 URC title on the strength of three feature wins and a season of consistent finishes that pushed the Michael/Palladino championship team to a one-hundred and sixty-two point advantage over runner-up Dave Ely. Curt is the defending champion and previously won the URC title in 1998. Along with the "cash" , the hardware was plentiful as well as Curt Michael, Kathy Palladino and Team 99 collected the Championship Trophy, Championship Rings, the Bill Bauer Perpetual Championship Cup and picture plaques and jackets provided by American Racer.

A big part of tonight's excitement also included awarding the $10,000 BAR's Leaks Team Sponsorship Award. There was a lot of excitement about this sponsorship program that saw as many as seventeen race teams prepare proposals for the program. Jimmy Martin of Felton, DE was awarded the 2006 sponsorship with the presentation being made by Bob Mermuys, President of BAR's Leaks from Holly, Michigan.

Of course, this event is free to the public and offers racing teams an opportunity to show off their new car designs and introduce their sponsors to the thousands of race fans that walk the Fairgrounds Square Mall during this event.

One of the biggest attractions of this show is the display by the Reading Historical Society, it's a "must see" outing of racing memorabilia. Be sure to stop by and join this outstanding organization as they work to keep alive, the history of the Reading Fairgrounds.

The Reading Racing Reunion & Car Show was created by racing publicist Bob Miller and begin in 1986. The goal of the show was to preserve the great memories of the old Reading Fairgrounds Speedway. "It was sad that after the closing of the Reading Fairgrounds, that no one made any effort to bring together all the folks who spent so many Friday nights at the Fairgrounds and now, this show does exactly that", commented event organizer Bob Miller. It was at the Reading Fairgrounds where Miller began his racing interests as a fan and later worked as an official and on the editorial staff of the race night Program Book. "I'm so glad that I had an opportunity to witness Reading in the heydays and sad to say that I saw its' sliding demise in the final years", added Miller.

Since 1986, many racing greats were honored at this show including the legendary Tommy Hinnershitz, Al Tasnady, Gerald Chamberlain, Bobby Gerhart, Larry Dickson, Gary Bettenhausen, Buzzie Reutimann, Jimmy Keppley, Lynn Paxton, the family of Dick Tobias, Warren Ruffner, the late Lindy Vicari and yes, even Mario Andretti made a visit to this event. This list of honored greats is endless.

Following the Legends of Racing Reunion on Friday night, March 3 is the BASH Racing Movie Party sponsored by NAPA/BERKS Auto Parts and will take place at the Temple Fire Company from 8:30 PM to 1 AM. Racing Movies, Music for Dancing and lots of fun is always in store for those who attend. Tickets are just $10 and are available by calling 215-860-5631.

SEIDEL LANDS GEI RIDE FOR 2006, CURT MICHAEL RANKED THIRD IN HALL OF FAME POLL

Brian Seidel of Allentown, PA will be the driver of the Bill Gallagher owned GEI Enterprises 5G when the URC Sprint Car season opens in April. Seidel, the 2000 URC Champion and winner of nineteen career victories plans to be a serious contender in the chase for the URC season long championship. Just one of many competitors that Seidel will have to battle if he plans on winning the title is Curt Michael of Ocean View, DE. Michael, was just recently voted the third ranked 360 Sprint Car Driver of the year by the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame. And to add to that, Curt also drives the Kathy Palladino BK Leasing #99, a nominee for the 360 Sprint Car Team of the Year.

Seidel is a long time favorite in the URC wars and he'll carry the following list of sponsors to include Valley Forge INC, Montgomery Brothers Auto Body, K+N Engineering, Sanders Engineering, B+B Oval Track Products, Outlaw Brakes and Pro-Shocks. All under the leadership of Car Owner Bill Gallagher and Team Manager Todd Rittenhouse, the powerful 5G is serious about being a title contender.

Brian Seidel and Curt Michael will still have to deal with the talents of Dave Ely, Kevin Welsh, Bill Brian Jr, Ed Aikin, Scott Pursell and Kramer Williamson just to name a few

With this level of competition, URC will continue their growth beyond being the oldest traveling sprint car organization in the country to being the best traveling sprint car show.  New and exciting plans will be announced in the first quarter of the new year, with URC drivers and owners getting a peak of what's in store at the Annual URC Awards Banquet on Saturday night, December 17 at the Hotel Sheraton in Dover, DE.

MIKE HAGGENBOTTOM RETURNS TO URC. . .
KATHY PALLADINO TEAM 99 NOMINATED FOR 360 SPRINT TEAM OF THE YEAR AWARD

Popular Levittown, PA sprint car driver Mike Haggenbottom will be returning to the weekly battles on the URC Advance Auto Parts Sprint Series tour in 2006.  Haggenbottom, the 2001 URC Driver Champion will complete on the entire URC schedule,  joining forces with long time car owner Lou Eckrich of Wilmington, DE.  Some other big news includes a recent announcement that the Kathy Palladino #99 Team is one of three teams nominated for the 2005 360 Sprint Car Team of the Year Award.  Each year, this award is presented on behalf of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame in Knoxville, Iowa.

Along with being a former champion, Haggenbottom owns eight career wins under the URC banner.  In the coming season, the Haggenbottom/Eckrich Team will compete in a Maxim Chassis on VRP shocks with a CP Racing Engine as the power plant.  Other sponsors that will be displayed on the familiar #54 include WDB Landscaping, Richboro Lawn and Garden, Johnson Chiropractic, Atlantic Speed Center and FatSams.net.

Before the drop of the checker flag, the Kathy Palladino #99 Team is chasing down one more victory.  Each year, the popular National Sprint Car Hall of Fame recognizes outstanding performers in various categories of our sport.  Kathy along with her husband Pat, driver Curt Michael and the entire 99 Team are awaiting the announcement of who will be, the 360 Sprint Car Team of the Year.

The Palladino 99 Team rallied to three URC victories this season and won the title with class and style.  The track and pit performance of this team is unmatched by anyone.  The car and team always appears neat and clean and the performance of the track will range from a threat to win any feature to consistency at the completion of every feature event.    Final ballots by a panel from the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame will determine the 360 Sprint Car Team of the year, expected to be announced by the end of the week.  The Palladino Team 99 is certainly a front runner for this award.

The URC Awards Banquet is set for Saturday night, December 17 at the Hotel Sheraton- -Dover, DE.  A point fund to exceed $40,000 will be distributed with Champion Driver Curt Michael and Champion Owner Kathy Palladino collecting the top honors.

MEMBERSHIP VOTES OVERWHELMINGLY. . .URC WILL TRANSITION FROM A CLUB TO A CORPORATION
In the fifty-eight year history of the United Racing Club, the vote taken on Sunday afternoon, November 6 could very well be the most important vote ever cast by the membership of our Nation's oldest traveling sprint car series. Since the beginning, which dates back to 1948, the initials of URC represented the United Racing Club, an organization founded by Harry Johnson to represent the weekly Saturday night sprint car racer. Effective Monday, November 7, URC will now stand for the United Racing Company, a limited liability company based in Delaware. URC, as it will continue to be known, will be operated by Managing Members John and Cheryl Zimmerman and Bob and Donna Miller.

The most comforting statement of the day came from URC President John Zimmerman, confirming that the long and successful history of URC will not only be remembered, but it will grow for years to come.

For several years, there has been interest within URC of going in this direction and there were many reasons sited. First, the competitive nature of this business requires the ability to have flexibility in the rapid changing environment of decision-making, something that is often slowed down in a club environment. Another motivation for this change is opening new doors with potential sponsors who would much rather negotiate with a registered corporation then a club.

Perception is another compelling reason for this change. While URC has enjoyed a long existence, being a club has branded the name of URC as something other then a full fledge-serious entity in the world of sprint car racing. With a point fund in excess of $40,000, the best negotiated tire deal for sprint cars in the country and a minimum earnings of $200 just to start a feature event, clearly puts URC in the game and they could very well be the leader of 360 sprint car racing today. Transponders for scoring and in car radios are mandatory, showing URC's commitment to providing the promoters and spectators an efficiently run show.

Looking ahead to 2006, there is a fairly well defined road map of where URC is heading. "From the view point of the fans, promoters, drivers and owners, expect to see the same well run (no delay) racing program", commented Bob Miller. "What we have going with URC is the continuation of "work in progress" so there is no need for us to re-create the wheel". Miller added, "We're where we are today because of the efforts of John, Cher and I. . . . It's just time to take URC to the next level of professionalism with a touch of corporate image.

Surprising, the membership vote for this change was overwhelming 21 to 1. The current Board of Directors is made-up of car owners who really have enough to do, fielding a competitive car for the grinding URC Advance Auto Parts Sprint Series. When it comes to mid-week preparation, their car needs the attention, not operating the day-to-day tasks of URC, and the same can be said for their sponsorship efforts. Race teams today have to work hard to secure their own sponsors and they can't be expected to go out and land sponsors for URC. That work must lie in the hands of URC's Managing Members. The same can be said for dealing with track promoters, publicity and promotions, cars shows and the media.

It was communicated that drastic changes will not occur. For example, the American Racer tire agreement will continue, URC's point fund for next year is expected to exceed the 2005 payout and the schedule is already well into the planning stages with a similar series as we saw this year.

URC is in good hands. John and Cher Zimmerman has been committed to the success of URC for many years, with John working in the capacity of URC President as Cher handled the secretary-treasurer position. On race night, both John and Cher are actively working to deliver the highest quality show for the fans and Promoters and they listen closely to the comments always offered by the competitors each night at the completion of the race.

Also in the partnership as URC Managing Members are Bob and Donna Miller. Bob has been working with URC since 1986 when he joined URC in the position of Publicity. Bob secured URC's first ever series title sponsorship, that being Kendall Motor Oil. Outside of URC, the Miller's also co-promote the successful Thunder on the Hill Racing Series and are involved in several other short track racing activities.

The working relationship between the Zimmerman's and the Miller's is not only unique, but also successful, as the two teams seem to compliment the total effort. An effort that has seen great benefits for URC. Both Zimmerman and Miller are not sprint car drivers or sprint car owners, and that in itself is unique with URC. Throughout the long and rich history of URC, the President and senior ranking officers have been competing car owners and drivers, which on occasions has created conflict within the ranks.

"I feel we can be more objective in the business decisions of URC as well as the race night managing of officials and race calls". Zimmerman continued to say, "Our competitors are important to us, but so are the track operators who are faced with new challenges each year, we need to work in the best interest of both parties". John added, "That's where Bob helps out so much since he can see what we're doing through the eyes of a Promoter.

There is no need to be sad, this is not the end of URC as we know it, but the rejuvenation of a traveling sprint car series that is fifty-eight years rich in history. From the days of leather helmets, no roll cages and drivers racing in t-shirts, to the prestigious URC Banquet that will distribute a whopping $40,000 point fund in short track racing's most dignified awards dinner; it's time to celebrate the continuation of growth within URC.

The URC Awards Banquet is set for Saturday night, December 17 at the Hotel Sheraton in Dover, DE. Along with the distribution of the point fund monies and special awards, expect major announcements of renewed sponsorships, new and exciting sponsorship offers, special events and new purse incentives. Catch sprint car racing's New Deal, URC in 2006.

For additional information, visit the URC web site at: www.urcsprints.com
Questions of Interest:
Q. How will URC operate through this transition period?
A. There will be no noticeable change. Business will go on as usual with the Banquet, planning for
Motorsports, Scheduling of events and participation at EMPA.
Q. What happens to URC, a non-profit organization?
A. The United Racing Club will cease operations on December 31, 2005. The United Racing Company LLC
will begin operation on or before November 7, 2005.
Q. What will happen to the money in the United Racing Club account?
A. All monies generated and going into the United Racing Club will be 100% paid out at the 2005 Banquet.
The United Racing Club Board of Directors will oversee the finances and payment of the point fund.
Q. Will the URC engine rules change in 2006 and how will car specifications be decided?
A. No engine rule changes are planned for 2006. URC's Managing Members will create a Tech Committee to
assist in the decision making of on-going car specifications and changes.
Q. Is there a bigger plan in mind for you to sell URC?
A. The competitive nature of URC's Managing Members will not allow them selling URC. In fact, operating
under the current "club" environment, could make URC more vulnerable for a take over by someone or a
group that would not have the best interests of URC in mind.
Q. Will there still me a URC membership?
A. Yes, and the price will remain the same. The membership fees over the years have been used to offset
administrative costs such as phone calls, stationary, mailings, web site operations, etc.
Q. Will sanction fees be increased to the track Promoters?
A. No sanction fees will go unchanged for the fifth year in a row.
Q. What is the protest policy for URC competitors?
A. The protest policy will remain the same as prior years.
Q. Will the nightly payoff to the drivers decrease in any positions?
A. No, the purse will not decrease, and be aware that additional bonus money may be added.
END

BILL BRIAN JR DELIVERS BIG URC WIN SATURDAY NIGHT IN THUNDER FINALE AT GRANDVIEW

Bill Brian Jr. of Ephrata, PA likes the Grandview Speedway. In fact, he was a former Thunder on the Hill Sprint Series Champion. Saturday night, in URC's season finale, Bill Brian Jr, driving the Elmer and Rose Stoltzfus sprint car, scored his first URC win of the season and his eleventh career victory under the URC banner. URC was part of the Grandview THUNDER features only program at Grandview Speedway.

In the twenty-five lap URC Advance Auto Parts Sprint Series feature, rookie driver Mark Bitner set the early pace followed by Bill Brian Jr and Dave McGough. At the halfway point of the race, Bitner had a big lead and the battle was taking place for the top five spots between Brian, McGough, Kramer Williamson and Dave Ely.

At this point, the race was still non-stop and Bitner was now approaching lapped traffic. Dave Ely passed Williamson and moved into fourth and one lap later, he was racing in third. At the front of the pack, Brian was chasing down Bitner as third place runner Dave Ely was closing the gap between himself and Brian.

The top five was definitely coming together for an all out battle to the checker, then the first yellow flag was displayed on lap nineteen when Ed Aikin hit the third turn wall.

On the restart, Bill Brian Jr. made a powerful move to pass Bitner for the lead. Ely now caught Bitner and the two drivers swapped the runner-up spot at least three times, before Ely took second for good on lap twenty-three.

With just two laps remaining, Ely now went to work on Brian for the lead. After two challenges for the lead, the yellow flag was displayed on lap twenty-four when Will Urkuski stopped in turn three.

It was now a one lap shootout to the checker flag. On the restart, Bill Brian Jr covered the low groove as Dave Ely looked for an outside line. Entering turn three, Brian and Ely were within a car length. As the leaders exited turn four and with the checker flag waiving, Bill Brian Jr had a strong run off of turn four to earn the win. Ely finished second with Dave McGough third, Mark Bitner fourth and Kramer Williamson fifth.

Also on the program was the Valley Forge Inc/Fred's Trailer Center URC Non-Winners Race. Each year, this event is presented to offer all URC non-winners an opportunity to visit victory lane. Brooke Bowman of Chestertown, MD led the entire twelve lap distance to score his first ever URC victory, beating out Mark Bitner, Josh Weller, Johnny Zimmerman, Will Urkuski and Jamie Bodo.

This concludes the URC 2005 racing season. The next event is the annual URC Awards Banquet to take place on Saturday, December 17 at the Sheraton-Dover, DE.

FEATURE FINISH: Bill Brian Jr., Dave Ely, Dave McGough, Mark Bitner, Kramer Williamson, Curt Michael, Trevor Lewis, Jason Clauss, Chris Coyle, Josh Weller, Tim Hogue, Gary Gollub, Scott Pursell, Pete Green, Dave Betts, Johnny Zimmerman, Will Urkuski, Ed Aikin, Kyle Purks, Brooke Bowman, DNS--Kevin Welsh.

KYLE PURKS PULLS OFF UPSET FOR FIRST EVER URC CAREER WIN SATURDAY

DELMAR, DE . . . . Nineteen year old Kyle Purks of Langhorne, PA pulled off a dramatic last lap move to score his first ever URC sprint car victory on Saturday night at the Delaware International Speedway. Purks started tenth in the twenty-four car field and at one point of the race dropped back to thirteenth. As the race went on, Purks charged to the front, racing in fourth on lap twenty. In the final two laps, Purks put the pressure on race leader Dave Ely. With the white flag waiving, Purks took the low groove and the lead going into turn one. Purks drifted to the high side of the speedway as Ely made a run to regain the top spot. Purks was up to the challenge and held the top spot going into turn three. The win for Purks was a crowd pleaser on Taylor & Messick Lawn and Farm Equipment Night at the Delaware International Speedway.

In another story, Curt Michael of Ocean View, DE clinched the 2005 Advance Auto Parts URC Sprint Series championship. Driving the Palladino owned BK Leasing sprint car, Michael finished a solid seventh in the feature event, to secure his third ever URC Championship. Michael previous won the URC championship in 1998 and in 2004. Title contender Trevor Lewis of Upper Black Eddy, PA was involved in an early race mishap that forced him to retired to the pits.

Three heat race qualifying events were presented with victories going to Kyle Purks, Tim Hogue and Midge Miller as Trevor Lewis won the "B" Main event. Jason Clauss a two time feature winner this season and ranked in the top five points, was unable to start the feature event after qualifying due to mechanical problems.

In the twenty-five lap Advance Auto Parts URC feature, Tim Hogue of Medford, NJ was the early race leader, holding off several threatening challenges from runner-up Midge Miller. Dave Ely and Kramer Williamson were on a charge racing in third and fourth as Mark Bitner made-up the top five. A yellow flag on lap nine brought the field together once again, offering Miller another run at challenging Hogue for the lead. Hogue remained the race leader although Miller offered several bids for the top spot.

At the halfway point of the race, Hogue was on top followed by Midge Miller, Dave Ely, Kramer Williamson and a hard charging Bill Brian Jr. On lap sixteen, Ely made the move and passed Miller for second. Ely then went to work on reeling in the race leader.

With just five laps remaining, everyone was passing. Dave Ely took the lead from Hogue as Bill Brian Jr dashed into third with Kyle Purks fourth and Kramer Williamson fifth.

The yellow flag was displayed on lap twenty-two when Junior Martin and Mares Stellfox made contact going down the backstretch. Martin tapped the wall then took a violent flip entering turn three. Martin walked away uninjured.

The restart saw Ely, Purks and Bill Brian Jr set-up for a three lap dash to the checker. Ely had a quick start but just one circuit later, Purks staged a major challenge for the top spot. One lap later and with the white flag waiving, Purks put his foot to the floor and took the lead going into turn one. Once on top, Purks refused to offer Ely a chance to reclaim the lead. Purks took the victory and collected the $1,600 first place prize. Dave Ely finished second followed by Bill Brian Jr., Kramer Williamson and pole sitter Tim Hogue.

Although the night ended on a good note for Kyle Purks, there were a few moments of tension. Just prior to the start of the feature event, the pit crew discovered a fuel leak and the decision was made not to start the feature event. Fellow competitor, Eldreth Construction Racing loaned the Purks team their fuel cell. The change was made just in time for Purks to start the feature. "I was concerned the final laps since the fuel cell we were using was smaller then what was on my car". Kyle Purks continued say, "After the checker flag, the car rolled to a stop, dry and out of fuel".

FEATURE FINISH: Kyle Purks, Dave Ely, Bill Brian Jr., Kramer Williamson, Tim Hogue, Chris Coyle, Curt Michael, Midge Miller, Mark Bitner, Dave McGough, Scott Pursell, Jon Eldreth, Ed Aikin, Gary Gollub, Kevin Welsh, Ashley Parlett, Mares Stellfox, Jimmy Martin, Brian Seidel, Pete Green, Josh Weller, Mike Kostic, Johnny Zimmerman, Trevor Lewis. Fred's Trailer Parts New Series Invades Black Rock........
TREVOR LEWIS DEFENDS BULLY HILL TITLE, POCKETS $4,000 FOR THE VICTORY SATURDAY NIGHT

DUNDEE, NY . . . . . For the second consecutive year, Trevor Lewis of Upper Black Eddy, PA was the star of the show in the 7th Annual Bully Hill Vineyards Sprint Car Nationals at the Black Rock Speedway in Dundee, NY. Lewis, a regular with the United Racing Club, drove his Bill Turpin/Fred Kennedy owned sprint car to a convincing victory, taking the lead on lap fourteen and running uncontested to the $4,000 victory in the 35 lap main event. This event earned points for the URC competitors for the season long point chase as well as the Fred's Trailers Parts New Series. Lewis along with the Turpin/Kennedy Race Team have established themselves as the "top dog" in last years high dollar events and Saturday was no different.

A field of sixty-five sprint cars took part in the Bully Hill Nationals with URC Rookie Driver Brooke Bowman of Chestertown, MD setting fast time. Five heat race events were presented with victories going to Rich Swarthout, Bill Brian Jr., Chuck Hebing, George Suprick and Ray Preston. The "C" Main saw Tim Kelly take the win as Bryan Howland won the "B" Main. A 12 lap Non-Qualifiers event was on the program as well with Bubby Kerrick taking the win. In the six car ALL STAR Dash, Rick Wilson was the winner and collected $500 for the victory.

Twenty-five sprint cars made-up the starting field in the Bully Hill Nationals with Dave McGough taking the early lead over Trevor Lewis. Brooke Bowman who set fast time of the night and started fourth in the main event, spun in turn one on the second circuit, displaying the yellow flag. On lap three, Ed Aikin spun in turn four and the caution was waiving once again. When green flag racing resumed, McGough remained the leader with Trevor Lewis second and Curt Michael third. Also on the move was Kevin Welsh who was now racing in fourth.

At the front of the pack, McGough continued to set the pace with Lewis now about to challenge for the lead. By lap twelve, Lewis was looking for some racing room and darted to the outside groove to make the pass for the lead. Kevin Welsh also found a burst of energy, passing Curt Michael on lap fourteen for the third position. By lap eighteen, Welsh was in second with Lewis still setting a blistering pace. At the halfway point, Lewis remained the pace setter over Kevin Welsh, Dave McGough, Curt Michael and Dan Kaszubinski.

The race ran caution free to the checker flag with the top five runners unchanged, that is until the late stages of the race when Dan Kaszubinski was on a charge. Kaszubinski was fifth on lap thirty and advanced to third with just two laps remaining. On the run to checker flag, Kaszubinski challenged Welsh and took the runner-up position by inches at the wire. Welsh finished third followed by Dave McGough and URC point leader Curt Michael was fifth.

At the checker flag, Trevor Lewis was all alone to score his third win of the season and eleventh career win under the URC banner. Lewis, thrilled with his victory waived the checkered flag to the crowd while standing on his top win.

Valley Forge INC Pennsylvania Sprint Series Invades Williams Grove. . . .
CURT MICHAEL TOPS TREVOR LEWIS IN LATE RACE BATTLE FOR TWENTY-SIXTH CAREER WIN

MECHANICSBURG, PA    .  .   .   .   .  Curt Michael of Ocean View, DE showed everyone what a champion is made of by winning the twenty-five lap URC Advance Auto Parts URC Sprint Series feature event Friday night at the Williams Grove Speedway.  Michael, threaded his way through traffic, then focused on chasing down the sprint car of Trevor Lewis to take the lead on lap eighteen.  Even with a late race caution on lap twenty-four, Michael, driving the BK Leasing Palladino owned sprint car,  held off the challenges of Lewis to score his third URC win of the season and twenty-sixth career win under the URC banner.

A field of thirty-one URC sprint  cars took part in the Valley Forge INC Pennsylvania Sprint Series event at Williams Grove with heat race victories going to Joe Zuczek, Jon Eldreth and Pete Green as Jason Clauss won the "B" main event.

The twenty-five lap URC sprint feature got off to a rough start with several caution flags delaying the completion of lap one.    Once the race officially got underway, Jon Eldreth set the pace for the first lap with Trevor Lewis taking the top spot on lap two.  On the move was Brian Seidel who moved into second by lap five followed by Eldreth, Ed Aikin and Midge Miller.

On lap eight, the caution was displayed, this time for Joe Zuczek who spun in turn two.  One lap later, Brooke Bowman spun in turn one bringing out the caution once again.

At the front of the pack, Trevor Lewis continued to set the pace in the Turpin/Kennedy owned sprint car with Seidel in the runner-up spot.   Eldreth followed in third with defending point champion and current point leader Curt Michael now racing in fourth and "B" Main winner Jason Clauss in fifth.

The top five remained unchanged as the field passed the starters stand at the halfway mark.  On lap fifteen, the caution was again displayed, this time for Mares Stellfox and Dave McGough who tangled in turn four.  At the same time, Chris Coyle driving the  Lou Eckrich owned sprinter made hard contact with the non-forgiving Williams Grove guardrail and wildly flipped outside the raceway.  Coyle was not injured in this spectacular crash.

On the restart, Lewis remained in control with Seidel and Michael now in a better position to challenge for the lead.  The battle for the lead was once again delayed as Junior Martin came to a stop on the speedway on lap seventeen.

This time the restart saw Curt Michael make the winning move that advanced him into the top spot with Lewis now thrashing to find the quick lane to retake the lead.  With five laps remaining, Michael and Lewis remained in a battle for the lead.   The final caution of the race came out on lap twenty-four for Brooke Bowman who spun on the speedway.

Setting up for the one lap dash to the cash, Curt Michael had a quick start and easily beat Lewis into turn one, avoiding any challenge for the lead.   For the balance of the final lap, Michael ran uncontested to the checker flag, using this win to pad in current point lead in the season long title chase.  Lewis finished second followed by Jason Clauss, Brian Seidel and  Ed Aikin.

Kramer Williamson deserves special recognition for his efforts Friday night.  A blown motor during the heat race event appeared to sideline this former champion for the night.  A quick run back to the Palmyra, PA shop and the team returned to the speedway with a back-up motor.   Following the motor change out and without warm-ups, Williamson started the feature as a provisional in the twenty-fifth spot.  At the completion of the twenty-five laps, Williamson earned a solid seventh place finish.

FEATURE FINISH:  Curt Michael, Trevor Lewis, Jason Clauss, Brian Seidel, Ed Aikin, Jon Eldreth, Kramer Williamson, Justin Collett, Mark Bitner, Dave Ely, Kevin Welsh, Kyle Purks, Midge Miller, Josh Weller, Scott Pursell, Mares Stellfox, Brooke Bowman, Junior Martin,  Chris Coyle, Dave McGough, Pete Green, Joe Zuczek,  Bill Brian Jr., Dave Betts, Will Urkuski.  DNQ- -Tim Hogue, Johnny Zimmerman, Gary Gollub, Jamie Bodo, Scott McClaren, Adam Gorden.

Fred's Trailer Parts NEW Series Continues. . . . . .
BRIAN SEIDEL CHARGES FROM 12TH TO WIN URC FEATURE SATURDAY NIGHT AT NEW EGYPT

NEW EGYPT, NJ   .   .    .   .   .  Brian Seidel of Allentown, PA was the star of the show Saturday night at the New Egypt Speedway as the Advance Auto Parts URC Sprint Series presented their nineteenth event of the season.  Seidel, who started twelfth in the Fred's Trailer  Parts NEW Series  feature event sliced and diced his way through traffic and caught race leader Mares Stellfox on lap twenty-three to take the lead.  Stellfox battled back in the final two laps but with each challenge, Seidel mastered the high groove and went on to score his second win of the season and nineteenth career victory under the URC banner.

A field of twenty-nine URC sprint cars took part in the program with heat race victories going to Mares Stellfox, Pete Green and Dave Betts as Brooke Bowman rallied home the winner of the twelve lap "B" Main.

In the twenty-five lap URC feature event, Mares Stellfox of Prospect Park, PA was the early race leader, beating out Pete Green on the run to turn one at the drop of the green.    Stellfox, who was URC's first female feature winner,  quickly ran to hide from the rest of the field.  Pete Green, Kyle Purks and Bill Brian Jr followed in the chase.

The first caution of the race was on lap eight when Kyle Purks spun in turn four while running in a solid top five position.   On the restart, Stellfox was the quickest once again but the field came to a caution on lap ten, this time for a Brooke Bowman spin.  The field ran one more green flag lap before another caution was thrown on lap twelve when Chris Coyle made hard contact with the first turn one.

With the green flag waiving, Stellfox was again the pace setter followed b  Jason Clauss, Brian Seidel, Bill Brian Jr. and Pete Green.  Now on a charge was Ed Aikin who advanced into the top five.

At the front of the pack, Seidel passed Clauss for the runner-up spot and set his sights on the Mares Stellfox.  A tangle on lap eighteen left Gary Gollub facing traffic on the homestretch and the yellow flag slowed the field one more time.  On the restart, Clauss passed Seidel for second and once again, Stellfox ran to hide from the rest of the field.

With just five laps remaining, Stellfox set the pace followed by Clauss, Seidel, Bill Brian Jr. and Ed Aikin.  Just one lap later, Seidel made the pass to move into second and now had to chase down Stellfox.   With just two laps remaining, Seidel passed Stellfox for the lead, but Stellfox fought back, looking to regain the top spot.  Racing sixth through tenth in the final two laps was Dave Ely, Curt Michael, Trevor Lewis, Kevin Welsh and Tim Hogue.  These drivers were not only racing for position, but the valuable points that go towards winning the URC Advance Auto Parts Championship Title.

In the closing laps, Stellfox made three attempts to regain the top spot but with the checker flag waiving,  Brian Seidel driving the Mike Bostic sprint car took the victory.  To the delight of the race fans, Stellfox delivered an outstanding second place finish  with Jason Clauss third, Bill Brian Jr. fourth and Ed Aikin fifth.

The hard charger of the night award went to Brian Seidel as Trevor Lewis earned the LikeWise Construction fast time of the night award.

FEATURE FINISH:   Brian Seidel, Mares Stellfox, Jason Clauss, Bill Brian Jr., Ed Aikin, Dave Ely, Curtis Michael, Trevor Lewis,  Kevin Welsh, Tim Hogue, Mark Bitner, Dave McGough, Pete Green, Kramer Williamson,  Junior Martin, Brooke Bowman,  Scott Pursell, Josh Weller, Dave Betts, Joe Zuczek, Gary Gollub, Kyle Purks, Will Urkuski, Chris Coyle.   DNQ- - Midge Miller, Jamie Bodo, Adam Gorden, Johnny Zimmerman, Jon Eldreth.

TREVOR LEWIS TOPS ACTION PACKED URC SHOW SATURDAY NIGHT AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY

BRIDGEPORT, NJ . . . . . The Advance Auto Parts URC Sprint Series made their one and only stop this year at the Bridgeport Speedway on Saturday night and a big crowd was rewarded with a typical URC sprint car thriller. Thirty sprint cars took part in the fourteenth event of 2005 for URC and the fifth race of the season for the Fred's Trailer Parts URC "New" Series. Trevor Lewis of Upper Black Eddy, PA ran in the top five from the drop of the green, but put the pressure on in the closing laps, taking the lead on lap nineteen. Lewis wrestled the top spot from Chris Coyle then went on score his second win of the season and tenth career victory under the URC banner.

Three heat race events determined the starting field for the feature event with victories going to Dave Ely, Jason Clauss and Chris Coyle. The 12 lap "B" Main saw Tim Hogue take the win over Daryl Smith.

At the start of the twenty-five lap URC feature, a four car mix-up in turn two brought out the red flag. Jon Eldreth, Joe Zuczek, Ed Aikin and Bill Brian Jr. tangled with Zuczek taking a slow roll. Zuczek was not injured in the accident. On the restart, Jason Clauss took immediate command of the lead spot as Chris Coyle and Trevor Lewis followed. On the move was Dave Ely and Curt Michael who were racing in the top five by lap five.

The caution was displayed on lap eight when Kyle Purks spun in turn two. Purks was racing in sixth at the time of the spin. Clauss once again was in control when green flag resumed. At the halfway mark, Clauss, Coyle, Lewis, Curt Michael and Dave Ely made-up the top five with Mark Bitner now racing in sixth after starting fifteenth.

The leader, Jason Clauss began to slow his pace and both Coyle and Lewis quickly reeled in the leader. On lap eighteen, Chris Coyle took the lead driving the Lou Eckrich owned sprint car. Coyle held the top spot for just one lap as Trevor Lewis wheeled the Kennedy/Turpin #56 to the head of the pack on lap nineteen.

Dave Ely was on a charge and moved into third with five laps remaining. Mark Bitner was on a charge of his own, now running fourth on lap twenty-one. With just two laps remaining, Ely caught Coyle and made the pass for second. Point leader Curt Michael caught a fading Jason Clauss and moved into the top five on the white flag lap.

Ely was fast but ran short of time to challenge Lewis for the win. With the checker flag waiving, Trevor Lewis took the win over Dave Ely, Chris Coyle, Mark Bitner and Curt Michael.

Josh Weller drove the Mike Bostic owned #6 as weekly driver Brian Seidel was on vacation. Mechanical problems sidelined the Bostic sprinter during the running of the consolation. Mark Bitner of Trenton, NJ was the Hard Charger of the Night, starting fifteenth in the feature event and finishing a strong fourth. The LikeWise Fast Lap of the Night went to Jason Clauss of Boyertown, PA. During the running of the feature event, Clauss turned the Bridgeport Speedway in a time of 19.539, which averaged in excess of 115 mph. Rookie Driver Brooke Bowman turned in another impressive run finishing seventh. Curt Michael of Ocean View, DE and driver of the Palladino #99, continues to lead the URC points. Michael delivered a strong fifth place finish in the feature event. Jason Clauss finished sixth in the feature event after leading the first seventeen laps. It was reported that a bleeder valve was leaking in the final laps.

FEATURE FINISH: Trevor Lewis, Dave Ely, Chris Coyle, Mark Bitner, Curt Michael, Jason Clauss, Brooke Bowman, Kramer Williamson, Dave McGough, Dave Betts, Ed Aikin, Jon Eldreth, Will Urkuski, Mares Stellfox, Kyle Purks, Pete Green, Midge Miller, Junior Martin, Daryl Smith, Scott Pursell, Tim Hogue, Scott McClaren, Joe Zuczek, Bill Brian Jr., DNQ- - Kevin Welsh, Johnny Zimmerman, Jamie Bodo, Josh Weller, Gary Gollub, Adam Gorden.

URC to invade Bridgeport Speedway Saturday night, July 30. . . .
CURT MICHAEL LEADS ALL IN HIGHLY CONTESTED URC POINT CHASE

Thirteen races into the 2005 Advance Auto Parts URC Sprint Series and defending champion Curt Michael of Ocean View, DE leads all URC competitors in his attempt for a third title.   Michael owns two URC wins this season and has a URC career total of twenty-five victories.   With the change in the URC handicapping system in 2005, the point chase is tighter then ever, but Michael and his Palladino owned URC race team, it's business as usual.    The point spread between the point leader and the fifth ranked driver in points is just one-hundred and thirty-nine points.  It's just that close with nine point race events still remaining on the schedule.

Nine drivers have shared the thirteen victories with Curt Michael, Kevin Welsh, Jason Clauss and Kramer Williamson each scoring two feature wins so far this season.  Drivers with single victories include Trevor Lewis, Dave McGough, Ed Aikin, Brian Seidel and most recently, Dave Ely who won the feature event on Saturday night at Selinsgrove Speedway.

The URC Advance Auto Parts Sprint Series will invade the five-eighth mile  Bridgeport Speedway this Saturday night, July 30.  Race time is 6:30 PM.  Bridgeport Speedway is always a favorite stop for URC as this track delivers some of the highest speeds of any track that URC visits.   For more information and directions to Bridgeport Speedway (Bridgeport, NJ) please visit their website: www.bridgeportspeedway.net

Rookie drivers Brooke Bowman of Chestertown, MD and Mark Bitner of Trenton, NJ both enjoyed great rides this past Saturday night at Selinsgrove Speedway.  Bowman finished second after leading twenty-two of the twenty-five lap feature.  Mark Bitner also  delivered a strong performance  with a  fourth place finish in the main event.  Bowman and Bitner are two of eight registered rookie drivers with URC in 2005.

VALLEY FORGE PA SPRINT SERIES EVENT FALLS TO URC'S DAVE ELY AT SELINSGROVE

SELINSGROVE, PA       .  .   .    .     .Dave Ely of West Lawn, PA played the waiting game and it all payed off as he won the twenty-five lap URC sprint car feature event Saturday night at the Selinsgrove Speedway.  Ely started on the pole, but the surprise of the night was rookie driver Brooke Bowman of Chestertown, MD who out-gunned Ely to take the lead at the start of the main event.  Even with three caution flags, Bowman could not be challenged.  That is until lap twenty-two when Ely reeled in the leader to take the top spot just four laps from the checker flag.

Bowman, who was looking for his first career win was equally happy with his runner-up spot.  "I really like running on these big and fast race tracks", commented Bowman as his car was going through post race teching.

The annual Advance Auto Parts URC sprint series visit to the Selinsgrove Speedway attracted twenty-seven sprint cars with heat race victories going to Dave Ely, Brooke Bowman and rookie sprint driver Mark Bitner.  Jason Clauss won the URC "B" that was cut short after Tim Hogue flipped in turn one during a heated battle for lead.

The field was called to the post for the feature event and at the drop of the green flag, Brooke Bowman immediately set a blistering pace followed by Dave Ely and Mark Bitner.   On lap five, the first yellow flag was displayed for Scott Pursell who stopped on the speedway.

On the restart, Bowman was again the class of the field as Ed Aikin was now making a run to the front of the pack, racing in fourth.  As the field crossed the line on lap eleven, the second yellow of the event was displayed, this time for Dave Betts who stopped on the backstretch.

With the green flag waiving to restart the feature,  Bowman remained the pace setter at the halfway point of the race followed by Ely, Bitner,  Aikin and defending champion Curt Michael.   Bowman had a commanding lead, but as the laps ticked by, Ely appeared to find a burst of energy as he reeled in the leader.  On lap twenty-two, Ely took the top spot with Bowman now in the runner-up spot.

Kyle Purks, the 2004 URC Rookie of the Year had a tire go flat as he was passing the start/finish line on lap twenty-four, displaying the final caution flag of this event.  On the restart, Curt Michael moved into third and now had his sights on the leader.

With the checker flag waiving, Ely took the win, his first of the year and seventh career victory in URC.  Brooke Bowman delivered an impressive runner-up finish over Curt Michael, Mark Bitner and Brian Seidel.

FEATURE FINISH:  Dave Ely, Brooke Bowman, Curt Michael, Mark Bitner,  Brian Seidel, Trevor Lewis, Ed Aikin, Dave McGough, Kramer Williamson, Jason Clauss, Bill Brian Jr., Kevin Welsh, Jon Eldreth, Chris Coyle, Will Urkuski,  Midge Miller, Johnny Zimmerman, Kyle Purks, Junior Martin, Josh Weller, Dave Betts, Scott Pursell, Daryl Smith, Gary Gollub, Scott McLaren.  DNQ- - Pete Green, Tim Hogue.

NEXT EVENT:  Saturday night, July 30 the URC sprints will visit the Bridgeport Speedway for their one and show of the 2005 season.

JASON CLAUSS SURVIVES WILD LAST LAP TO SCORE BIG DIAMOND URC WIN

MINERSVILLE, PA    .   .    .     .  The Valley Forge INC URC Pennsylvania Sprint Series stormed the Big Diamond Raceway on Friday night and following two rain delays, a little lightening and thunder and a wild final lap in the feature event, Jason Clauss of Boyertown, PA scored his second URC win of the season.  Just five laps from the finish, Clauss moved into second then quickly chased down race leader Josh Weller.  Clauss took the lead on lap twenty-four, but Weller fought back attempting to regain the lost position.  On the last turn of the final lap, Weller spun sending a fast charging field scrambling and looking for racing room.  Clauss took the win with Trevor Lewis taking second followed  by Gary Gollub, Kramer Williamson and Ed Aikin.

A field of twenty-nine URC sprint cars turned out for the twelfth event of the 2005 Advance Auto Parts Sprint Series tour.  The three heat race events were won by Gary Gollub, Scott Pursell and Josh Weller as Midge Miller took the win in the consolation.

In the twenty-five lap feature event, Gary Gollub set the early pace with Josh Weller racing in second and Jason Clauss third.  Gollub remained the leader until lap seven when Weller took the top spot.  The first caution of the event was displayed on lap nine for Joe Zuczek who spun in turn four.

On the restart, Weller, Gollub and Clauss were in a three car battle with Pursell and Lewis just several car lengths behind the leaders.    Lewis passed Pursell to take the fourth spot as Dave Ely also squeezed by to round out the top five.

As the field passed for the halfway sign, Bill Brian Jr had a tire go flat bringing out the second caution of the race.  With half the race in the books, Weller, Gollub, Clauss, Lewis and Ely made up the top five.

This race really became interesting as Clauss moved into second on lap twenty.  With just five laps remaining, you could just sense there would be a dramatic ending.   With three laps reaming, Weller and Clauss were battling for the lead, meanwhile Gollub, Ely and Kramer Williamson were doing some juggling just to stay in the top five.

With the white flag waiving, Clauss became the new leader, but a determine Josh Weller was fighting back.  The final run down the backstretch, Weller move to in the inside lane as he challenged Clauss for the lead.  Weller bobbled then quickly adjusted only to take another run at the leader.  Going into turn four, Weller caught an inside tire, sending him spinning across traffic as the rest of the field charged out of turn four in chase of the checker flag.

Clauss came across the wire in first with Trevor Lewis second, Gollub third, Kramer Williamson fourth and Ed Aikin fifth.  For Clauss, it was his third career URC victory.

FEATURE FINISH:  Jason Clauss, Trevor Lewis, Gary Gollub, Kramer Williamson, Ed Aikin, Curt Michael, Chris Coyle, Scott Pursell, Mark Bitner, Brian Seidel, Dave McGough,  Kevin Welsh, Jon Eldreth, Tim Hogue, Will Urkuski,  Junior Martin, Midge Miller, Joe Zuczek, Josh Weller, Dave Ely, Scot McClaren, Johnny Zimmerman, Bill Brian Jr. Pete Green.  DNQ- -Brook Bowman, Dave Betts, Jamie Bodo Daryl Smith, Kyle Purks.

MOPAR SPEEDS KEVIN WELSH TO URC VICTORY SATURDAY NIGHT AT NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY

NEW EGYPT, NJ   .   .   .   .  With rain falling everywhere in the tri-state area, the New Egypt Speedway beat all the odds and successfully completed their Saturday night racing program.  Kevin Welsh of Far Hills, NJ was happy that the rain did stay away as his MOPAR powered URC sprint car carried his to victory lane for the second time this season.  Welsh led the race wire-to-wire but it really wasn't all that easy as Brian Seidel stayed in striking distance of the leader.  Also on a charge was third place finisher Ed Aikin who was closing in on the leaders in the final laps.  This event was the eleventh race of the Advance Auto Parts URC Sprint Series and was also a point race for the 2005 Fred's Trailer Parts "New" Series.  This victory for Welsh also earned him a spot in the September 10th Bully Hill Nationals at the Black Rock Speedway.

A field of twenty-nine URC sprint cars took part in the program with heat race victories going to Justin Collett, Kevin Welsh and Gary Gollub.  In the twelve lap "B" Main, Will Urkuski of Mohnton, PA was the winner.  For Urkuski,  a rookie with URC this season, this was his first qualifying victory.

In the twenty-five URC feature event, Kevin Welsh out-gunned front row starting partner Justin Collett to take the  early lead.  In just a few quick laps, the MOPAR powered sprinter responded to the need for speed from pilot Kevin Welsh to established a comfortable lead.

The first caution of the race came out on lap five when Floridian Daryl Smith stopped on the speedway.  On the restart, Welsh remained the man in charge being followed by  Justin Collett, Brian Seidel,  Josh Weller and Ed Aikin.  On lap fourteen, Seidel moved into second and set his sights on Welsh.  With the leader now racing with lapped  cars, Seidel moved closer and closer to within striking distance of the lead.  Now in the hunt was Ed Aikin, who slipped into third.

On lap twenty-one, Dave Betts flipped in turn four that collected Bill Brian Jr and Scott McClaren.  All drivers walked away uninjured with Brian able to restart at the rear of the field.

With just four laps remaining, the shootout to the checker was set.  Welsh had a great start and quickly established a six car length lead.  Working around lapped traffic, Seidel made every attempt to chase down Welsh and with two laps to go, he was back in a challenging position for the lead.

As the checker flag was waiving, Welsh and MOPAR powered sprinter was at the head of the class.  Seidel finished second followed by Ed Aikin, Justin Collett and Josh Weller.  Making up the top ten were Tim Hogue, Jon Eldreth, Dave Ely, Chris Coyle and Trevor Lewis.

FEATURE FINISH: Kevin Welsh, Brian Seidel, Ed Aikin, Justin Collett, Josh Weller, Tim Hogue, Jon Eldreth, Dave Ely, Chris Coyle, Trevor Lewis, Dave McGough, Gary Gollub, Jason Clauss, Scott Pursell, Kramer Williamson, Curt Michael, Bill Brian Jr.,  Junior Martin, Midge Miller, Will Urkuski, Johnny Zimmerman, Daryl Smith, Dave Betts,  Scott McLaren, Mark Bitner.  DNQ- - Adam Gorden,  Joe Zuczek, Mares Stellfox, Jamie Bodo.

BAR's LEAKS CHALLENGE Offers $4,600 to Win URC Main Event. . . .
TREVOR LEWIS LEADS URC CAST OF STARS TO NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY

Trevor Lewis is the current point leader in the Fred's Trailer Parts "NEW" Point Series of 2005 and the next point race for the series is at New Egypt Speedway this Saturday night.  Lewis holds just an eight point advantage over runner-up Chris Coyle as Dave Ely, Ed Aikin and Tim Hogue make-up the top five.  The Fred's Trailer Parts "NEW" Series is one of three mini-point series within URC for the 2005 season.

In the big picture, Curt Michael and car owner Pat Palladino currently lead the point chase in the Advance Auto Parts URC Sprint Series, the season long URC title chase.  Dave Ely now ranked second in points followed by Kramer Williamson, Trevor Lewis and Chris Coyle.

BAR's Leaks, a big supporter and sponsor of the United Racing Club have posted a $3,000 bonus to the first driver that should win a URC feature event after making the field by way of the "B" Main or as a provisional starter.  URC pays an attractive $1,600 to win a standard 25 lap sprint car feature so the total take would be worth, $4,600.

URC continues to deliver strong car counts and exciting racing events.  Just last week at the Delaware International Speedway, Jason Clauss made a last lap pass for the lead, scoring his first win of the season and second career URC feature win.

Following the visit to the New Egypt Speedway this Saturday night, URC will make a stop at the Big Diamond Raceway on Friday, July 22nd followed by URC's annual stop at the Selinsgrove Speedway on Saturday night, July 23rd.

LAST LAP PASS EARN JASON CLAUSS URC VICTORY SATURDAY NIGHT AT DELAWARE INTERNATIONAL

DELMAR, DE . . . . . Jason Clauss of Boyertown, PA drove the race of his career, chasing down race leader Dave McGough, then making the pass for the lead and the feature win on the final lap.  For Clauss, it was only his second career URC victory and first win of 2005.  Clauss drove like a veteran and pulled out the right moves exactly when they were needed.  McGough started on the pole and lead the first twenty-four laps, with Clauss taking the lead on the final circuit in the event sponsored by Taylor & Messick Lawn & Farm Equipment.

Thirty-one URC sprint cars turned out for the program with heat race victories going to McGough, Clauss and Chris Coyle as the "B" Main saw Gary Gollub take the victory.

A field of twenty-five cars answered the call for the twenty-five lap Advance Auto Parts Sprint Series feature event.  Dave McGough of Sassamansville, PA  sat on the pole and gunned to an early lead at the drop of the green flag.  The first caution of the race was displayed on lap five when Josh Weller went high off the track in turns three and four.  The following lap, Junior Martin stopped in turn one bringing out the caution once again.

The restart saw McGough regain his lead role with Clauss in second followed by Chris Coyle, Tim Hogue and Kramer Willliamson.  Point leader Curt Michael was racing in the thick of the action just outside the top five.

Scott Pursell was the cause of the yellow flag on lap ten when he stopped on the backstretch.  On the restart, Trevor Lewis took a slow roll in turn four and the field was under caution once again.

It was all green flag racing from that point forward and McGough continued to set a blistering pace.  The top five through lap fifteen was McGough, Clauss, Coyle, Kramer Williamson and Curt Michael.

Slower traffic soon became an issue for some,  and an opportunity for others.  On lap eighteen, Williamson caught and passed Chris Coyle for third and it was obvious that he was gaining on runner-up Jason Clauss.  And so could be said for Clauss, who was also making up ground as he reeled in race leader Dave McGough.

With five laps remaining, Clauss was within three car lengths of McGough and you could just see a dramatic finish about to unfold.  On lap twenty-two, Curt Michael moved into fourth and was quickly gaining on third place runner Kramer Williamson.  With the white flag waiving, Clauss drove the low line entering turn one with McGough on the high outside.  Exiting turn two, Clauss had the lead.  McGough made a last turn move to try and retake the lead spot, but Clauss was more then up to the challenge and scored the victory.  McGough finished second followed by Kramer Williamson, Curt Michael and Dave Ely.

FEATURE FINISH:  Jason Clauss, Dave McGough, Kramer Williamson, Curt Michael, Dave Ely, Jon Eldreth, Chris Coyle, Kevin Welsh, Tim Hogue, Bill Brian Jr., Ed Aikin, Justin Collett, Mark Bitner, Brian Seidel, Gary Gollub, Brook Bowman,  Ashley Parlett, Junior Martin, Mares Stellfox, Scott McClaren, Midge Miller, Will Urkuski, Trevor Lewis, Scott Pursell, Josh Weller.  DNQ- - Johnny Zimmerman, Kyle Purks, Mike Kostic, Joe Zuczek, Dave Betts, Daryl Smith.

Friday, July 22       Big Diamond Raceway, Minersville, PA  Valley Forge INC PA Sprint Series Point Race
Saturday, July 23   Selinsgrove Speedway, Selinsgrove, PA Valley Forge INC PA Sprint Series Point Race

URC News:  Scott Pursell of Frenchtown, NJ returned to URC racing action Saturday night.  This marked his first race since a highway accident sidelined him on June 18th.  URC driver Butch Green of Lehighton, PA remains on the road to recovery following a violent flip at Delaware International Speedway earlier in the season.  URC fields remain healthy with thirty-one cars turning out for the Delaware International racing program.  URC remains one of the most fan friendly divisions of dirt track racing, known for great racing and running an efficient racing program.  To further enhance the flow of the show, URC is now officially using transponders for scoring (at tracks that are equipped to do so) and one way in car radios.  The BAR's Leaks Challenge is now offering a hefty $3,000 bonus to any driver that can win a URC feature after advancing to the field from the "B" Main.   With $1,600 posted for a win in regular twenty-five lap feature, a win from the "B" would earn the driver $4,600.  Ten events are in the books with eight different winners.  The only duplicate race winners this season are Curt Michael and Kramer Williamson.

BRIAN SEIDEL TAKES TOP HONORS IN URC RUN SATURDAY NIGHT AT DELAWARE INTERNATIONAL

DELMAR, DE   .  .  .   .Brian Seidel of Allentown, PA held off several challengers to score his first URC win of the season on Saturday night at the Delaware International Speedway.    This show marked the ninth race of the Advance Auto Parts URC Sprint Series and the third race of the Taylor & Messick Delaware State Sprint Series.  The win for Seidel earned him a starting spot in the Bully Hill Nationals in September.   Driving the Mike Bostic owned #6, this victory for Seidel was his eighteenth career win under the URC banner.

Twenty-six URC sprint cars were on hand for the racing event with heat race victories going to Curt Michael (current point leader), Brian Seidel and Trevor Lewis.  Brian Brittingham and Justin Collett developed mechanical problems during qualification and reported that they were done for the night.  URC did not run a "B" Main with all cars starting the feature.

In the twenty-five lap feature event, Brian Seidel and Kyle Purks made-up the front row with Seidel taking the lead going into turn one.  With a powerful blast down the backstretch, Kyle Purks passed Seidel to take the lead.  The caution was displayed on lap three for debris and the field was brought back to re-group once again.

Purks mastered the restart and continued to set the pace with Seidel close in the chase and Jon Eldreth third.  Ed Aikin was on the move, racing in third by lap five.

A big turn of events took place on lap nine when race leader Kyle Purks spun of the track going into turn three after contact will a lapped car.  Purks was unable to return and a near perfect night came to an early end.

With Brian Seidel now in the lead, his challengers were Kevin Welsh and Ed Aikin.  At the halfway point of the race, Seidel, Welsh, Aikin, Trevor Lewis and Dave Ely were  in  the top five.  On lap sixteen, Welsh took a run for the lead and actually nosed into the top spot before the yellow was displayed for Johnny Zimmerman who spun in turn two.  Seidel returned to the  spot for the restart.

In the final five laps, Welsh did move in to challenge Seidel for the win.  On the last two circuits, Welsh again took a run at taking the lead, but with each challenge, Seidel was the strongest and remained in the lead to pocket the win worth $1,600 along with the Bully Hill Nationals in September.

FEATURE FINISH:  Brian Seidel, Kevin Welsh, Ed Aikin, Dave Ely, Trevor Lewis, Jon Eldreth, Jason Clauss, Curt Michael, Bill Brian Jr., Kramer Williamson, Dave McGough, Mark Bitner,  Chris Coyle, Tim Hogue, Josh Weller, Dave Betts, Joe Zuczek, Brooke Bowman, Daryl Smith, Warren Durbin, Johnny Zimmerman, Gary Gollub, Kyle Purks, Junior Martin.  DNQ- - Brian Brittingham, Justin Collett.

VALLEY FORGE INC PA SERIES EVENT
DEFENDING URC CHAMPION CURT MICHAEL RETURNS TO WINNING FORM SATURDAY NIGHT AT LINCOLN SPEEDWAY

Defending URC Champion Curt Michael of Ocean View, DE won the season opener back in late April then appeared to struggle over the next six race dates.  The key word here is "appeared".  Then on Saturday night at the Lincoln Speedway, Michael and his Palladino sprint car put aside all doubts and rallied home the winner of the twenty-five lap URC Advance Auto Parts Sprint Series feature event.  Michael drove a flawless race, taking the lead from Chris Coyle on lap six, then running uncontested to collect the $1,600 winners share of the payoff.

A field of twenty-four URC sprint cars answered the call for the twenty-five lap feature event sponsored by Valley Forge INC,  with Chris Coyle of Wilmington, DE setting the early pace.  The first caution of the event took place on lap two when Junior Martin  spun and came to a stop in turn four.

Lap three was entered into the books then the yellow came out once again, this time for Adam Gorden and Junior Martin who tangled in turn one.  Chris Coyle remained the pace setter as the field passed to complete lap four.  Gary Gollub then spun in turn four and at the same time, Brian Seidel and Mike Kostic tangled in turn one.

The field restarted with Coyle in control and Curt Michael on the roll.  By lap six, Michael was the new leader as Coyle followed in second with Josh Weller, Jon Eldreth and Jason Clauss making up the top five.

The fourth caution of the race was then displayed on lap eight when Trevor Lewis crashed in turn one.  Lewis retired from the race, turning over the URC point lead to Curt Michael.

At the halfway mark, Michael was a solid front runner with Coyle second, Weller  third, Jason Clauss fourth and Dave Ely now in the top five.   The final caution of the race was displayed on lap sixteen when a flat tire on the Jon Eldreth sprint car slow the field.

On the restart, Dave Ely and Kramer Williamson were on a charge and moving to the front.  Williamson moved into the top five on lap seventeen and began to reel in the leaders.  At the front of the pack, Curt Michael  ran to hide from the rest of the competition, going on to claim the victory over Chris Coyle, Jason Clauss, Josh Weller and Kramer Williamson.  For Michael, it was his twenty-fifth career win and second URC victory of the night.

URC heat race victories went to Chris Coyle, Josh Weller and Jon Eldreth.

FEATURE FINISH:  Curt Michael, Chris Coyle, Jason Clauss, Josh Weller, Kramer Williamson, Bill Brian Jr., Dave Ely, Chad Trout, Dave McGough, Mark Bitner, Dave Betts, Tim Hogue, Ed Aikin, Brooke Bowman, Scott McClaren, Jon Eldreth, Gary Gollub, Kevin Welsh, Trevor Lewis, Mike Kostic, Brian Seidel, Adam Gorden, Jimmy Martin Jr., Kyle Purks. DNQ-- Warren Durbin.   (URC regular Scott Pursell was missing in action at the Lincoln Speedway after being involved in a highway accident while traveling to the speedway.  Pursell is resting comfortably and more information will be released shortly.  There were no other injuries in the accident.)

On June 25th, the URC Advance Auto Parts Sprint Series will invade the Delaware International Speedway in Delmar, DE.   This event will be part of the  Taylor & Messick Delaware State Sprint Series. Race time is set for 7 PM.

Valley Forge INC Pennsylvania Series. . . . .
KRAMER WILLIAMSON MAKES LAST LAP PASS  FOR SECOND URC WIN OF 2005

BECHTELSVILLE, PA    .  .   .   .    Kramer Williamson of Palmyra, PA used all twenty-five laps to chase down race leader Tim Hogue, only to make a thrilling last lap pass that brought the crowd to their feet during the running of the URC Advance Auto Parts sprint feature last Saturday night at the Grandview Speedway.  Hogue ran a flawless race, placing his rear bumper on the outside wall lap after lap as Williamson used the low groove to challenge for the lead.  With the white flag waiving, Hogue closed the door by switching grooves, giving Williamson the opportunity he was waiting for.  Rocketing off of turn two, Williamson took the lead and went on to victory, becoming URC's only repeat feature winner in seven events.  For Williamson, it was his sixty-third career win with  URC.

Qualifying for the Valley Forge INC Pennsylvania Series saw Kevin Welsh, Tim Hogue and Josh Weller win the heat race events as Kyle Purks rallied home the winner of the consolation.

In the twenty-five lap feature event, Tim Hogue of Medford, NJ was the early race leader.  The red flag was displayed on lap two when Dave McGough and Will Urkuski tangled in turn one.  Both McGough and Urkuski flipped wildly with both drivers walking away uninjured.  Later in the night, McGough did agreed to go to the hospital for a check-up.

When the race resumed, Hogue remained the pace-setter, leading with a comfortable margin as Josh Weller  followed in second.  Kramer Williamson, the former URC Champion was on a charge, racing in fourth by lap five and second on lap nine.

At the cross flags, Hogue and Williamson  were at the front of the pack with Josh Weller third, Dave Ely fourth and Brian Seidel fifth.  All eyes were on the leaders as they ran side-by-side with Hogue riding the outside guardrail and Williamson running as low of a line as possible.

Also on a charge was Trevor Lewis and with just five laps remaining, he moved into third, now reeling in the leaders.

The most exciting laps of this race were still to be seen as Hogue and Williamson continued their battle.  Williamson, still in the low groove began to show his nose to the leader.  With the white flag is the sky, Hogue changed grooves to hopefully through off the challenge of Crafty Kramer Williamson.  But the veteran of many years used his experience and captured the lead mid-way down the backstretch.  Through the final two turns, Williamson held the top spot as a determined Tim Hogue tried to regain the top spot.

With the checker flag waiving, Williamson took the win with Tim Hogue second in one of the best URC features of all time.  Trevor Lewis finished third with Dave Ely and Brian Seidel making up the top five.

FINISH:  Kramer Williamson, Tim Hogue,  Trevor Lewis, Dave Ely, Brian Seidel, Josh Weller, Kevin Welsh, Bill Brian Jr, Ed Aikin, Curt Michael,  Jason Clauss, Jon Eldreth, Mark Bitner, Kyle Purks, Joe Zuczek,  Jimmy Stitzel, Mares Stellfox, Junior Martin, Adam Gorden, Gary Gollub, Chris Coyle, Scott Pursell, Dave McGough, Will Urkuski.  DNQ- -  Dave Betts, Mike Kostic,  Tim Damiani.

Taylor & Messick Delaware Series Delivers Sixth Different Winner in Six Events
KEVIN WELSH LEADS WIRE-TO-WIRE FOR FIRST URC WIN OF 2005

DELMAR, DE . . . . . It was only a matter of time.  Kevin Welsh of Far Hills, NJ was the class of the field, winning his heat race event then leading the entire twenty-five laps of the Advance Auto Parts URC Sprint car feature event Saturday night at the Delaware International Speedway.  In the URC portion of the program that was sponsored by Taylor & Messick Lawn and Garden Equipment, Welsh easily won the main event, his first win of the season and ninth career victory under the URC banner.   For URC, the stop at Delaware International marked the sixth race of the season and Welsh adds his name as the sixth different feature winner of the season.

A field of thirty-one URC sprint cars turned out for the program with heat race victories going to Kevin Welsh, Gary Gollub and Junior Martin as Curt Michael took the victory in the "B" Main.

The URC feature had a wild start as Lehighton, PA driver Pete Green took a violent flip down the backstretch on the first lap.  Green climbed the backstretch wall and tore down one billboard sign before taking  a series of wild barrel rolls.  Green was communicating with track medics and family members and was transported to the local hospital for x-rays and observation.

The URC field gathered once again to restart the feature and Kevin Welsh immediately gained control of the top spot with Gary Gollub and Kramer Williamson making up the top three.  Dave McGough was on a charge moved into fourth on lap three.   On lap ten, the caution was displayed, this time for Ashley Parlett who stopped on the homestretch.  Two laps later,  Scott Pursell brought on the yellow when he slowed exiting turn four.

As the field passed for the crossed flags, Welsh was the leader over Gollub, Williamson, McGough and Bill Brian Jr. who now moved into fifth.  With just five laps remaining, the final caution came out, this time for Jason Clauss who stopped on the homestretch.

The five lap dash to the checker was now set and anyone was in place to offer Welsh a challenge, it had to happen now.  Welsh quickly pulled away from the field and maintained a solid lead through the final five laps.

With the checker flag waiving, Welsh rallied home the winner with Gary Gollub second, Kramer Williamson third, Dave McGough fourth and Bill Brian Jr fifth.  Making up the top ten were Kyle Purks, Junior Martin, Joe Zuczek, Chris Coyle and point leader Curt Michael.

The LikeWise Construction fast time of the night cash award went to Kevin Welsh for setting fast time during his heat race.  Chris Coyle of Wilmington, DE was the hard-charger in the feature event.

FEATURE FINISH:  Kevin Welsh, Gary Gollub, Kramer Williamson, Dave McGough, Bill Brian Jr., Kyle Purks, Junior Martin,  Joe Zuczek,  Chris Coyle, Curt Michael,  Trevor Lewis, Jon Eldreth, Brian Seidel, Mark Bitner, Ed Aikin, Mike Kostic, Josh Weller, Scott McLaren, Jason Clauss, Warren Durbin,  Mares Stellfox, Scott Pursell, Dave Ely, Ashley Parlett, Pete Green.  DNQ- - Tim Hogue, Dave Betts, Johnny Zimmerman, Brooke Bowman,  Brian Brittingham, Justin Collett.

NEXT Event:  Saturday, June 11 Grandview Speedway.   The URC sprints cars will join the NASCAR Modifieds in a double-header race card at the Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, PA.  Race time is 7:30 PM.

URC HEADS TO DELAWARE INTERNATIONAL SATURDAY, FIVE DIFFERENT WINNERS IN FIVE EVENTS SO FAR IN 2005

Keen competition remains the "key phrase" in URC and five events into the season, five different drivers have visited the Advance Auto Parts URC victory lane.  The season opened with defending champion Curt Michael taking the victory at the Big Diamond Raceway on April 29.  Since that time, Kramer Williamson, Trevor Lewis, Dave McGough and Ed Aikin have all found the fast route to the checker flag.  Michael, a two time URC Champion remains in the point chase driving the Palladino #99 sprint car.

The gang of URC will gather once again on Saturday night, June 4 at the Delaware International Raceway in Delmar, DE.  This will mark the sixth point race for the season long championship and the second point race of the Taylor & Messick Delaware State Sprint Series.  Kramer Williamson of Palmyra, PA and winner of sixty-two URC feature events, was the winner of the URC event back on May 14.  Williamson leads the Taylor & Messick Delaware State Sprint Series when a field of some thirty sprint cars invade the half-mile Delaware oval.

There are plenty of URC drivers standing in line to win their first feature of 2005 and the list of likely candidates includes Kevin Welsh, Dave Ely, Chris Coyle, Tim Hogue, Brian Seidel, Bill Brian Jr., Scott Pursell, Pete Green and Jason Clauss just to name a few.

The newly introduced handicapping format has certainly added to the excitement and increases the difficulty of any driver winning back-to-back features.  In fact, no driver has been able to deliver a double win as yet in 2005.

Action will be plentiful this Saturday night at the Delaware International Raceway with the URC sprints on the card.  Race time is 7 PM.

Fred's Trailer Part New Series Invades Fonda. . . .
ED AIKIN TAKES URC CHECKER IN DRAMATIC FINISH SATURDAY NIGHT

FONDA ,NY.  Ed Aikin of Lincoln University, PA was in the right place at the right time to win the 25 lap Advance Auto Parts URC sprint  car feature event on Saturday night at the Fonda NY Speedway.  Aikin ran second most of the race, then on lap twenty-three, race leader Brian Seidel spun in turn two displaying the yellow flag.  At that point, Aikin inherited the lead and successfully completed the final two laps to score his first win of the season and second career victory.  It was also the first win for the newly formed team of Ed Aikin and car owner Johnny Zimmerman Jr.

Thirty-two cars turned out for the Fonda URC show that is also a point race for the Fred's Trailer Parts New Series of 2005.  Three heat race events were presented with Tim Hogue, Brian Seidel and Ed Aikin taking the victories with the consolation win going to John Karklin Jr.

In the  twenty-five lap feature, Tim Hogue led the first lap with Brian Seidel taking the top spot on lap two.  Ed Aikin moved into the runner-up spot on lap five with Chris Coyle now racing in third.

The first yellow of the race was displayed on lap ten when fourth place runner Kyle Purks stopped on the backstretch.  When green flag racing resumed, Seidel once again ran off to a commanding lead with Aikin and Coyle making up the top three.

Junior Martin brought out the caution on lap thirteen when he spun in turn three.  The restart once again saw Seidel remain in control, but all eyes were not focused  on the Bill Turpin/Fred Kennedy sprint car driven by Trevor Lewis.  With just ten laps remaining, Lewis was now racing in the top five and closing in on the front runners.

An unbelievable turn of events took place on lap twenty-three when race leader Brian Seidel spun while exiting turn two.   "I didn't believe it was happening or I thought, it wasn't the leader", said Aikin in a post race interview.  But it was.  A great ride for Brian Seidel came to an end as he was forced to restart at the rear of the field.  With just two lap remaining, Seidel did work his way back to an impressive eleventh place finish.

At the front of the pack, Aikin was on the point and now had to contend with a determined Chris Coyle along with Trevor Lewis.  Aikin had all the bases covered and actually pulled off a seven car length advantage over the final two circuits.   Aikin took the victory over Chris Coyle, Trevor Lewis, Dave Ely and Tim Hogue.

FEATURE FINISH:  Ed Aikin, Chris Coyle, Trevor Lewis, Dave Ely, Tim Hogue,  Curt Michael,  Jason Clauss, Doug Emery, Kyle Purks, John Karklin Jr., Brian Seidel, Bill Brian Jr., Dave McGough, Waren Alexson,  Dave Betts, Pete Green, Cory Sparks,  Josh Weller, Junior Martin,  Kevin Welsh, Scott Pursell, Will Urkuski, Johnny Zimmerman, Dick Spadaro.  DNQ- - Mark Bitner, Gary Gollub, Mike Kostic, Krame Williamson, Brooke Bouman, Ron Zagata, Adam Gorden, Jonathan Erksen.

As the sprint cars circled the historic Orange County Speedway under the yellow flag, a light mist of rain began to fall.  The decision was made to go green flag racing and Lewis once again went on to set the pace.  Just three laps later, the light rain became a down pour and the checker flag was waiving as the field completed the halfway point of the race.

For Lewis, this marks his first win of the season and ninth career URC victory.  The LikeWise Construction Fast Time of the Night award  also went to Trevor Lewis  for turning the quickest lap of the night during his heat race.   Following Lewis to victory lane was Chris Coyle, Dave Ely, Pete Green and current URC point leader Curt Michael.

NEXT URC EVENT:  Saturday, May 21  Orange County Fair Speedway

KRAMER WILLIAMSON RIDES PINK PANTHER TO URC VICTORY SATURDAY NIGHT AT DELAWARE INTERNATIONAL

DELMAR, DE   .   .    .    .  Kramer Williamson and his self-owned Pink Panther #73 out-classed a top notch field to win the Advance Auto Parts URC Sprint Series feature event on Saturday night at the Delaware International Speedway.  For Williamson of Palmyra, PA it was his first win of the season and sixty-second career URC win, but it was the first URC win for his famous Pink Panther sprint car.   It was a picture perfect night for Williamson that started by winning his qualifying heat race.  During that event, Williamson also established the LikeWise Construction fast lap of the night worth an additional $50.  In the feature event, Williamson started on the pole and led the entire twenty-five lap distance.

A field of thirty URC sprints cars  turned out for the program with heat race victories going to Jason Clauss, Williamson and Justin Collett.  In the "B" Main, rookie driver Mark Bitner of Trenton, NJ scored the victory.

This event was also the first point race of the Taylor & Messick Delaware State Sprint Series.  At the drop of the green flag, Williamson immediately established himself as the man in control and ran to hide from the rest of the field.   Jason Clauss and Justin Collett were in a heated battle for the runner-up spot as Ed Aikin and Brian Seidel followed in the chase.

The first caution of the feature was displayed on lap four when Joe Zuczek spun in turn four.  The  restart once again gathered the field but at the drop of the green flag, Williamson was once again off and running.  The top five remained unchanged, then on lap eleven, another caution was displayed, this time for Kyle Purks who came to stop on the homestretch.

When green flag racing resumed, Williamson remained in control with all eyes now watching Curt Michael and the Palladino #99.   By lap fifteen, Kevin Welsh moved into the top five now in battle with Brian Seidel .

With five laps remaining, Curt Michael turned up the  heat and moved into fifth.  With just two laps remaining, Michael passed Brian Seidel to take fourth.  The strong drive by Michael just ran short of time as the checker flag fell on Kramer Williamson with Clauss second and Collett third.  Curt Michael and Brian Seidel made-up the top five.

Dave McGough, driving the GEI sprint car #5g had a great run going during his qualifying event only to have engine problems send him to the pits.  The GEI Team did a quick turn around to change a motor and get McGough back on the track to qualify through the consolation.  McGough finished fifteenth in the main event.

FEATURE- -Kramer Williamson, Jason Clauss, Justin Collett, Curt Michael, Brian Seidel, Kevin Welsh, Ed Aikin, Bill Brian Jr., Jon Eldreth, Chris Coyle, Dave Ely, Trevor Lewis, Pete Green, Tim Hogue, Dave McGough, Scott Pursell,  Mark Bitner, Junior Martin, Ashley Parlett,  Mike Kostic, Joe Zuczek, Josh Weller, Dave Betts, Kyle Purks, Gary Gollub.  DNQ- - Warren Durbin, Scott McLaren, Johnny Zimmerman Jr.,  Dave Betts,  Brooke Bowman, Brian Brittingham.

URC will return to action next Saturday night (May 21st) at the Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, NY.

AS PREDICTED, MICHAEL & PALLADINO DOMINATE URC IN THE EARLY GOING

With just one event in the books, Curt Michael and his BK Leasing URC sprint car are off to a strong start.  Michael won the URC opener on  Friday night, April 29 at the Big Diamond Raceway after a dog-fight battle with Trevor Lewis in the Turpin/Kennedy sprinter.   Michael is the 2004 defending champion and owns twenty-four URC career victories.  This plants Michael in the point lead for the 2005 Advance Auto Parts URC Championship as well as the Valley Forge INC Pennsylvania Sprint Series Championship.

There is no doubt that Michael and the Palladino owned #99 were fast, but so was Trevor Lewis who ran to hide from the eventual race winner earlier in the race.    Veteran driver Gary Gollub also turned in an award winning performance finishing second to Michael in the twenty-five lap feature event.  Dave Ely, Kevin Welsh and Dave McGough were fast on the exciting Big Diamond oval but a first lap accident sent this trio to the pits early.  All three drivers promised to be back and in a big way.

URC returns to action on Saturday night, May 14 when the traveling sprint car club invades the Delaware International Speedway.  This event will also mark the first race of the Taylor & Messick Delaware State Sprint Series.

The following week, URC invades the Middletown NY Speedway on Saturday night, May 21.  Action will be fast and wild as always in URC style.

RAIN TAKES STILL ANOTHER EVENT FROM URC

The United Racing Club was fully charged for their second race of the 2005 season that was scheduled for the New Egypt Speedway on Saturday night, April 30.   However, Mother Nature had a different plan, sending a blanket of rain to the East Coast for the duration of the day on Saturday.  Unfortunately, management of the New Egypt Speedway was forced to cancel their racing program on Saturday night.

URC did manage to beat the bad weather on Friday night, thanks to an outstanding effort by Big Diamond Speedway.  A field of thirty-two URC sprints took part in the program and defending champion Curt Michael was the winner.  It was a great night of racing that included four heat races, a lot of passing and even a little wheel banging in the battle for the win.

Fans of URC will have to sit tight until the next URC show which is scheduled for Saturday night, May 14 at the Delaware International Speedway.   URC will next visit the New Egypt Speedway on Saturday night, July 16.

Fred's Trailer Parts Center of Delran, NJ will take a different  approach with their sponsorship in 2005, now sponsoring the Fred's Trailer Parts NEW Series.  This mini-series within URC will track points and crown a champion for all events held in the states of New Jersey and New York.  The series will include stops at the Bridgeport and New Egypt Speedways in New Jersey as well as the Middletown, Fonda, Black Rock and Rolling Wheels Raceways in New York.

URC To Invade New Egypt Saturday night April 30
CURT MICHAEL WINS 2005 URC OPENER FRIDAY NIGHT AT BIG DIAMOND

MINERSVILLE,  PA  APRIL 29, 2005    .  .   .   .  Defending URC Champion Curt Michael of Ocean View, DE won the twenty-five lap URC Advance Auto Parts URC Sprint Series opener Friday night at the Big Diamond Raceway.  For Michael, it was his twenty-fourth career URC win and for car owners Pat and Cathy Palladino, it was their third consecutive year of winning the URC season opener.  With dark and threatening skies all around, the officials of Big Diamond Raceway pressed hard to complete the show and beat the forecasted bad weather.

A hardy field of thirty-two URC sprint cars took part in the season opener with the four heat race victories going to Kevin Welsh, Curt Michael, Dave Ely and Pete Green.   Kyle Purks of Langhorne, PA was the winner of the twelve lap "B" Main qualifier.

Twenty-four cars started the twenty-five lap URC sprint feature with Trevor Lewis and Curt Michael starting in the front row as a result of the luck of the draw.  At the drop of the green flag, Curt Michael gunned to the early lead but before the first lap was completed the red flag was displayed when Kramer Williamson broke an axle and flipped down the homestretch.  At the front of the pack, a six car tangle blocked the speedway in turn two which brought the field to a stop.   Involved in the six car mishap was Kevin Welsh, Dave McGough, Dave Ely, Tim Hogue and Bill Brian Jr.

When the race resumed, Trevor Lewis had the jump and took the lead as Curt Michael and Gary Gollub followed.  Lewis, driving the Kennedy/Turpin URC sprint car set a blistering pace and quickly ran to hide from the rest of the field.   Michael on the other hand, was running a smooth and steady pace, almost like he was waiting for a strong finish.

The yellow flag was displayed on lap nine when Kyle Purks came to stop in turn three.   The restart brought Michael to the rear bumper of Lewis but when the green flag fell, Lewis again ran off to hide.

At the halfway mark of the race,  Trevor Lewis was still on top followed by Curt Michael, Gary Gollub, Scott Pursell and Jon Eldreth.   The leader soon came upon slower traffic and this offered Michael his opportunity to take a run at the leader.  On lap eighteen, Michael challenged Lewis for the lead, but one lap later the front runners made contact on the backstretch, with  Lewis spinning into the infield.  The yellow was displayed as Trevor Lewis returned to the pit area on the back of a tow truck.

With just five laps remaining, Curt Michael set the pace over Gary Gollub and Scott Pursell as Brian Seidel advanced to fourth.   Michael maintained a strong lead to win the URC opener with Gary Gollub collecting a strong second over  Scott Pursell, Brian Seidel and Jon Eldreth.

FEATURE FINISH:  Curt Michael, Gary Gollub, Scott Pursell, Brian Seidel, Jon Eldreth, Josh Weller, Ed Aikin,  Joe Zuczek, Bill Brian Jr.,  Scott McLaren, Pete Green, Luke Eriksen,  Junior Martin, Kyle Purks, Mark Bitner,  Mike Kostic, Chris Coyle, Trevor Lewis, Kevin Welsh, Justin Collett, Dave McGough, Dave Ely, Tim Hogue, Kramer Williamson.  DNQ-Dave Betts, Jimmy Stitzel, Warren Durbin, Johnny Zimmerman,  Adam Gorden,  Will Urkuski,  Jason Clauss.

URC will be in action on Saturday night, April 30 at the New Egypt Speedway followed by  a visit to the Delaware International Speedway on Saturday night,  May 14.

URC SEASON OPENS SATURDAY, APRIL 23rd AT DELAWARE INTERNATIONAL

Curt Michael of Ocean View, DE and the Palladino BK Leasing #99 ventured to the I-20 Speedway in Batesburg, SC and won the thirty lap USCS 360 sprint feature event on Saturday night.    Michael, who started fifth,  took the lead on lap ten and went on to score the victory over Paul Sides of Memphis, TN.    Michael used this event as a "test and tune" for the URC 2005 Advance Auto Parts Sprint Series opener on Saturday night, April 23 at the Delaware International Speedway.  This could be an indication of what the Michael/Palladino aim to do in URC this season.

The Delaware International URC opening  event will also mark the first point race of the Taylor & Messick Delaware State Sprint Series, one of three mini-series within URC.

Brian Seidel of Allentown, PA driving the Mike Bostic #6 sprint car won the first URC event of 2004 at Delaware International.   For Seidel, it was his first of six wins last year, ending the season seventh in the point chase finale.

Seidel will be a favorite when the URC gang invades Delaware International on Saturday night.  A large cast of contenders will be out to claim their  first win of the URC season including Curt Michael who is hot off his South Carolina victory.  Other contenders include Kevin Welsh in the Davis/Welsh  2w, Dave McGough driving the GEI Bill Gallagher 5g, Kramer Williamson, Dave Ely, Tim Hogue,  Jon Eldreth,  Scott Pursell, Josh Weller and Kyle Purks just to name a few.

2005 URC ROSTER FILLED WITH ROOKIE TALENT

The 2005 Advance Auto Parts URC Sprint Series opener is now just weeks away.  This popular 360 sprint car organization will launch its fifty-eighth season when the green flag falls at the Delaware International Speedway on Saturday, April 23rd.  With eight rookie drivers registered in URC, a field of thirty sprint cars are expected for the opener.

New talent looking to make their mark in URC include Brooke Bowman of Chestertown, MD, Will Urkuski of Mohnton, PA, Mark Bitner of Trenton, NJ, Johnny Zimmerman of Lancaster, PA, Scott McLaren of Freehold, NJ, Dave Betts of Newark, DE, Luke Eriksen of Manchester, VA and Warren Durbin of New Egypt, NJ.   Without a doubt, this is one of the largest turnouts of new talent heading in the direction of URC.

With plenty of new talent on the roster, URC is deep with experience as well.   The showdown in URC reaches far beyond a two team battle and the chase for the URC Championship title is a wide open.  Defending champion Curt Michael of Ocean View, DE is ranked the favorite going into the opener with  Michael driving the potent Palladino #99.  The wild card of 2005 is the forming of a new team which includes defending Owner Champion Frank Davis and URC rising star  Kevin Welsh of Far Hills, NJ.  Many are betting that this team will shake up the ranks within URC as Welsh goes out to claim his first URC Championship.

Another team to watch is Dave McGough and the GEI Bill Gallagher owned 5G.  McGough is a former champion, crafty and experienced and hungry for another championship title.  Dave Ely is always a contender as well.  This West Lawn, PA resident won the URC championship in 2003 but a mid-season race injury in 2004, kept him from challenging for the URC title last year.

Speaking of former champions, Brian Seidel of Allentown, PA was the 2000 URC Champion.   With seventeen career wins, Seidel and the Mike Bostic sprint car are expected challengers to claim the title as well.

Who else will shine in 2005?  Watch for Tim Hogue of Medford, NJ to turn some heads.  2004 was Hogue's best career season earning two URC feature wins and finishing a strong sixth in the overall championship point chase.  Trevor Lewis of Upper Black Eddy, PA driving the Turpin/Kennedy sprint car will be in the hunt as well.  Lewis owns eight career URC victories.  Don't count out Chris Coyle of Wilmington, DE a four time URC feature winner and a favorite of the fans especially at the Delaware International Speedway.

URC, sprint car racings most progressive organization is looking at a thirty race schedule in 2005 and racing will get underway at the Delaware International Speedway on Saturday, April 23rd.  For a complete look at the URC schedule, please visit our website at:  www.urcsprints.com

KYLE PURKS EYES URC TITLE IN 2005

After earning the 2004 URC Rookie of the Year Title, Langhorne, PA driver Kyle Purks is taking a serious run at the 2005 URC Advance Auto Parts Series Championship.   Driving his family owned 64k, Purks at  just eighteen years of age,  displays a bright future in URC sprint car racing.  Purks competed in sixteen events with URC in 2004 and  was quick to adapt on this highly competitive tour.    Winning the URC title that offers a total point fund of more then $40,000 is no easy task, but Purks plans to be a front runner as he challenges defending champion Curt Michael, Kevin Welsh, Dave McGough, Dave Ely, Trevor Lewis, Brian Seidel  and Chris Coyle just to name a few

The URC opener is set  for Saturday, April 23rd at the Delaware International Speedway.   Prior to the URC opener, Purks  will spend a few weeks down south, working with good friend Charles Lewandowski and ARCA driver Billy Venturini.  Purks is looking to do some net-working for future racing career possibilities.

Mike Haggenbottom, the 2001 URC Champion will race a select number of URC events this season, driving the Purks Racing back-up car.

GEI SPRINT CAR IS A POPULAR ATTRACTION AT AREA SHOWS

The GEI/Bill Gallagher owned URC Sprint Car has become a popular attraction of late.  Just recently, the GEI sprinter was on display at the Philadelphia Construction Expo in Fort Washington, PA  on March 8 through 10 and the car drew a lot of attention.  Car Owner Bill Gallagher was excited about the number of people who stopped by the display and were curious for more information on this car and coming racing events.  "I'm glad we put the car in the show and it seems like we reached some new people,  hopefully it will create more interest for URC and the many area speedway's as well,"  commented Gallagher.

With the high amount of interest generated at this show, look for the GEI 5G sprint car to be displayed at other non-racing related events.  The next visit by the 5G will be at the  PA One Call System Central PA Safety Day on May 12th at the Dauphin County Technical School in Harrisburg, PA.

The GEI sprint car is one of top performers on the URC Advance Auto Parts Sprint Series.    Dave McGough of Sassamansville, PA is a former champion (1993) with URC as the GEI/Bill Gallagher Team are looking for their first Owner Title with URC.    Along with being a former URC Champion, Dave McGough owns twelve career victories under the URC banner and is one of the most respected drivers on the circuit.

The sponsor roster for the 5G  includes GEI Enterprises, Valley Forge Inc., Montgomery Brothers Auto Body, K&N Air Filters, Sanders Engineering, Pro-Shocks, Outlaw Brakes, Robison Racing Products and B&B Oval Track Parts.   This team will use both Eagle and JEI Chassis and carry a Don Ott power plant to provide the horsepower.

Bill Gallagher along with Dave McGough are happy to be part of the  United Racing Club,  today's most progressive 360 sprint car organization offering a lucrative weekly purse, a $40,000 cash point fund and a promoter/fan friendly approach to doing business.   URC just recently revamped their handicapping system to generate more passing excitement in both the heat and feature events.  The shows are always well organized and use heat races for qualifying verses the time trial format.  Transponders for scoring and in car radios will be a popular aid for URC this season.   URC will launch its' fifty-eighth season in 2005 and remains the Nation's oldest traveling sprint car organization.    Opening day for URC is set for Saturday, April 23 at the Delaware International Speedway in Delmar, DE.  This is the first event of a thirty race schedule for URC with stops in Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Iowa and Michigan.

MARCH 26, 2005

URC Season Opener. . . Saturday, April 23 At Delaware International. . . . .SPONSORS ADD EXCITEMENT AND CASH TO URC 2005 SEASON

The growth of the United Racing Club over the past decade, is unmatched by any regional traveling group or weekly sanctioning body.  A club that is rich in history, the URC sprint cars will launch their fifty-eighth season at the Delaware International Speedway on Saturday, April 23rd.  What makes URC work?   Well, for starters,  URC has not raised their purse with the change of each year, but instead, worked at lowering the cost of weekly sprint car racing.   The club also lured  a long list of sponsors who spice up the yearly payout to their drivers and owners.

The approach of URC over the years has been to spread the money around.    Both the nightly purse and point fund distribution is not top heavy, but rather a well distributed payout from top to bottom.  In 2005, URC will increase their minimum earnings to start a feature event to $200.   The club also pays tow money to non-qualifiers.   A twenty-five lap feature pays $1,600 to win,  $600 for fifth and $375 for a tenth place finish.  All this, and the purse to the Promoters has not increased in four years.

In 2005, URC plans to distribute a minimum $40,000 point fund to be paid at their annual Awards Banquet at the completion of the season.  To enhance the benefits to its members, URC has negotiated a strong tire deal with American Racer,  offering  a left rear tire at a cost of $125  and right rear at  $130.   These tire costs are remarkably low as compared to other sprint car divisions.

All these good things are offered because of the strong sponsorship support of the United Racing Club and its ability to catch the eye of corporate sponsors.   Advance Auto Parts, with more then 2,500 stores nationwide,  will again return to carry the Series title name, joined by  BAR's Products, the nation's leading manufacturer of automotive stop leak products.

Choice Hotels, which feature Comfort Inn & Suites, Sleep Inn, Clarion and Quality Inn will return to URC  as a corporate point fund contributor.   Race fans can benefit as well by calling 1-800-4-CHOICE when traveling and in need of lodging in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  Be sure to ask for the LURC discounted rate.

With more then 28,000 Florist Worldwide, FTD will also seed the URC point fund in the coming season.  At each URC event, FTD will also give away FTD gift certificates to fans who attend the 2005 events.

To mix-up the money and create some additional interest, URC offers three mini-point series.  Taylor & Messick will continue to sponsor the always popular Delaware State Sprint Series.  Handling their John Deere signature brand machinery to include lawn and garden tractors, Taylor & Messick is the longest running sponsor in URC.

Fred's Trailer Repair will return to sponsor the New Jersey State Sprint Series for their fourth consecutive season.  The series will include five race dates, visiting the New Egypt Speedway on four occasions and one stop at the five-eighth mile Bridgeport Speedway.

Valley Forge Inc under the direction of Bill Gallagher, will again post some bonus dollars for the Pennsylvania Sprint Series.  The PA Tour includes visits to Williams Grove, Lincoln, Grandview, Big Diamond and the Penn Can Speedways.

Todd Wise of Likewise Construction has signed to sponsor the Fast Time of the Night Award.  URC is embarking on their first season with the AMB scoring system and now a Fast Time  cash Award will be paid at any track that has an AMB timing system.

Valley Forge and Fred's Trailer Repairs have sponsored the Annual URC's Non-Winners Race.  This event usually takes place at the end of the season, providing all URC Non-Winners an opportunity to jump start their career with a visit to victory lane.    This event is a great moral booster.  Tim Hogue won the Non-Winners event in 2003 and returned the next year to score two URC victories.

The sponsorship list for URC continues and includes the Hank Gentzler Rookie of the Year Award sponsored by Denise Gentzler of Hank's Performance.   Brodix Corporation will again contribute to the cash point fund of the season finale point chase.  DMI and Pro-Fabrications will kick in some cash as well  to push the overall point fund in excess of $40,000.

And there is still more to be announced.  Currently in the works is a nightly incentive that will be posted by Advance Auto Parts.  Watch for this announcement in the next two weeks.

Some thirty race dates fill the 2005 URC Advance Auto Parts Sprint Series schedule.  Curt Michael driving the Palladino sprint car will headline the field of URC competitors as he attempts to defend his 2004 URC Championship title.   For more information on URC, including a complete schedule, payoff, rules, race procedures along with driver and club facts, please visit:  www.urcsprints.com

LARGE TURNOUT ATTENDS URC SPRING GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

CHERRY HILL, NJ   .   .   .   A large turnout was on hand for the 2005 URC General Membership Meeting held at the Clarion Hotel in Cherry Hill, NJ.   A most impressive showing of Rookie drivers turned out for the URC Rookie Orientation Meeting.  Former URC Driver Champion Dave Ely and defending Owner Champion Frank Davis joined Race Director Bob Miller in addressing the URC driver procedures for the coming new season.  Rookie Drivers participating in the Rookie Orientation included Will Urkuski, Johnny Zimmerman, Mark Bitner, Warren Durbin, Scott McClaren, Dave Betts and Brooke Bauman.  URC President John Zimmerman opened the Rookie Orientation with a welcome and a confirmation that URC is still on a big growth pattern, that is obvious by this large show of Rookie support.

The 2005 Advance Auto Parts URC Sprint Series sponsored by BAR's Leaks has a thirty-one race schedule planned for the club's fifty-eighth season.  Opening day is set for April 23rd at the Delaware International Speedway.  Other tracks on the URC schedule include,  New Egypt, Grandview, Big Diamond, Black Rock, Bridgeport, Fonda,  I-96, Knoxville, Middletown, NY, Penn Can, Lincoln, Williams Grove, Selinsgrove and the Rolling Wheels Raceway.

Brian Sharp of Racing Electronics was on hand to discuss the clubs plan on going with in car radio communications.   Radios will be optional for URC Club racers at the beginning of the season.  There is a target date of July 1st  when the radios will be mandatory.   URC is also going live with transponders to be used at all tracks that are equipped to do electronic scoring.

URC Sponsorship is big once again in 2005.   Advance Auto Parts, BAR's Leaks and FTD are returning along with Fred's Trailer Repairs, Valley Forge Incorporated,  Taylor & Messick and Choice Hotels.   There are several new sponsorships on deck and will be announced shortly.   A point fund of $40,000 CASH  is expected to be distributed at the season end URC Awards Banquet.

John Zimmerman and Bob Miller made a joint presentation on the importance of sponsorship and working with the media.   Discussions included how to give a victory lane interview as well as a pre-race interview.  Working with the media to gain more club exposure is key to the on-going success of URC.

There was an in-depth discussion on URC's new handicapping system that was presented by Cher Zimmerman.  Overall, there was an over-whelming acceptance of the new format with a minimal amount of questions.  The new handicapping format will position the top three in points and the top three from the previous URC feature finish, from starting within the top six starting positions in the feature event.   The overall goal is to promote more passing in the feature and to minimize a win from the pole finish.

URC defending Champion Curt Michael will be in the opening day line-up driving the Palladino #99.  Kevin Welsh will be driving the Team Welsh/Davis sprinter joined by Dave McGough in the Bill Gallagher #5g along with a host of others to include Dave Ely, Trevor Lewis, Brian Seidel, Chris Coyle and Tim Hogue.   A field of some thirty URC sprint cars are expected to be on hand for the opening day event at the Delaware International Speedway on Saturday night, April 23rd.

In 2003, Mertztown, PA resident Josh Weller said farewell to his micro sprint driving days and turned his attention to the URC Sprints.   This was not an easy decision as Weller had 112 victories to his credit before making the move to URC.    At that end of that first year, Weller earned the URC Rookie of the Year title.  Nicknamed "The Wild Child", one should not get the wrong impression of twenty year old Josh Weller.  With two URC seasons now under his belt, Weller has demonstrated his ability to be a hard charger and a respected competitor.

Over the course of the 2004 season, Josh competed in nearly thirty events, including URC and several non-sanctioned 360 sprint shows.   The highlight of his season came at his home track, the Grandview Speedway.  It was Saturday night, June 12 and Josh Weller mastered the tricky "bull ring on the hill" and rallied home to an outstanding third place finish in the twenty-five lap main event.    Late that season,  Weller nearly pulled off a victory in one of three Sweet 16 Qualifiers that were part of the Bull Hilly 360 Sprint Nationals at Black Rock Speedway.  Weller finished second to point Champion Curt Michael that night, losing the lead on the final lap as a result of some lap car interference.

Although Josh did not find the URC win circle as yet, he keeps getting closer.  Along with the third place Grandview finish and the Sweet 16 runner-up at Black Rock, Josh delivered six other top ten finishes over the course of the season.  In mid-August, John Weller entered the 360/358 Sprint Challenge at the Susquehanna Speedway and finished a strong second place in the championship event.

Looking at 2005, Josh "The Wild Child" Weller will have an increased focus on URC and finding the coveted victory lane.   Sporting a J&J Chassis sprint car that is owned by Rick and Kim Weller, the team has strong sponsorship support from Wavetech Associates Inc., Har-Jan Mechanical, State Farm Insurance, Assured Automation, Flow Solution, Peterbilt, Simpson, Ultra Shield and Snookie Speed Shop.

Josh Weller will be in the field when the 2005 Advance Auto Parts Sprint Series gets underway  on Saturday night, April 23rd at the Delaware International Speedway.  The following weekend, URC has stops at the Big Diamond Raceway on Friday, April 29 followed by a visit to the New Egypt Speedway on Saturday, April 30.

The URC roster of competition is filled with heavy hitters including defending URC Champion Curt Michael, Kevin Welsh, Trevor Lewis, Dave McGough and Dave Ely just to name a few.  Weller will have his hands full, but that URC victory is not far away for this young talent of URC.

MICHAEL & PALLADINO Plan to "finish what they started"  When URC 2005 Season Opens April 23

There's  no doubt . . . . . the team of Curt Michael and  Team Palladino are going to be a tough combination in URC this season.  Curt Michael of Ocean View, DE is the defending URC Driver Champion and he will reunite with Pat and Kathy Palladino to fill the seat of the potent #99 URC sprint car.  Curt owns a total of twenty-three URC victories with ten of the checker flags coming in the Palladino #99.  One of those victories came at the famed Syracuse Mile, a prestigious victory for this team in 2001.  So looking at the  year 2005, both Curt Michael and Team Palladino will be in chase of their third URC Championship crown.

For Team Palladino, their six year participation with URC is loaded with success, winning two consecutive Owner titles in their first two years of competition.   In fact, over their six year run with URC, Team Palladino has never finished outside the top three spots in the URC point chase and has a total of twenty-eight victories, twenty-four runner up finishes, fourteen third place finishes and an impressive eighty--five top five's.   As the results indicate, this team not only wins races, but their success is complimented with consistency.   Pat Palladino is no stranger to this sport, being in the business for more then thirty years either as a hired wrench or his role as car owner.  Pat's immediate goal is to place more emphasis on having a permanent driver and there is not doubt in his mind that Curt Michael is the answer.

Path and Kathy have learned many valuable lessons during their tenure as car owners and they plan to  build upon them.   Joining the team this year is Steve Suchy, aka "Beazer".  Steve will be Crew Chief so Pat can focus more on the team as a whole rather then just the race car on race night.   "Having Beazer in the mix is going to be an immense help.  I can trust him with everything."   Palladino continue, "like I said before, there aren't too many mechanics I would trust with our car,  he's like I was at his age."   Pat and Kathy are proud of their accomplishments which are driven by their  focus on teamwork, stats and a successful sponsorship program.

The Advance Auto Parts URC Sprint Series will open at the Delaware International Speedway on Saturday, April 23rd and the familiar Palladino #99 will again be viewed as a major treat to claim the lucrative URC Championship title.  Curt Michael, on of the exciting and youthful members of the URC clan, is always a favorite of the fans especially when he invades the Delaware International Speedway.   There is no doubt about it, this team will be dynamite in 2005.

With Curt behind the wheel and Beazer turning the wrenches  the Palladino sprinter will sport a long list of sponsors.  Pat will be the first to say that you need a successful sponsorship program to keep your sprinter at the front of the pack.  In 2005 key sponsors of this team include BK Leasing, CnB Mushroom Farms, E.J. Wagner & Sons Trucking, Jim's Lettering, Feaser Realty, Washington Township Pediatrics, Theresa D. Bowen, MBA, CPA Consulting, Seaford Harley-Davidson, Don Ott Racing Engines, Penske Racing Shocks, Hank's Performance Products, J&J Auto Racing, Weld Racing Wheels, Joe Nields Steerings and Top Flight Wings.

$200 Minimum earnings to start each URC feature. . . . . .
EXCITEMENT STIRS AS URC ANNOUNCES NEW HANDICAPPING FORMAT FOR 2005

LANGHORNE, PA   . . . . .  At the URC Board Meeting held on Saturday, final plans were announced for a new handicapping format that will be introduced in 2005.   URC President John Zimmerman views the handicapping system as a big plus for added excitement in URC.  "The goal of the handicapping change is to create new excitement for the fans, competitors and  promoters providing  more passing in both the heats and features and at the same time, attracting new talent to the organization.  This format will prevent the previous nights feature winner and the current URC point leader from starting on the front row of any feature event during the course of the entire season".

2005 URC Handicapping Format:

Heat Line-up

"B" Main line-up

Feature line-up

Additional good news for URC competitors is that the minimum earnings to start a feature will be increased to $200.  URC has chosen  American Racer as the official club tire for the next three years.  URC tires will be sold for the  low, low price of $125 for the left rear and $130 for the  right rear.  This could possibly be the best tire deal in the country.

Saturday, March 26th, URC competitors are invited to participate in the Open Practice at Bridgeport Speedway.  Practice will begin at 1 PM and continue until 5 PM.  URC Tech inspectors John Kepics and Steve Peters will be on hand to perform pre-race inspection.  This is a good opportunity for URC competitors to be teched well in advance of the opening day event.    The URC opener will take place at the  Delaware International Speedway on Saturday night, April 23rd

For more information, please visit the URC website at www.urcsprints.com.   A complete URC schedule of events is posted along with recent press releases, driver profiles and statistics.

DAVIS & WELSH JOIN FORCES TO CHASE 2005 URC CHAMPIONSHIP

The 2004 URC Champion Owner Frank Davis and second place URC driver Kevin Welsh have officially joined forces for the 2005 season. This could be one of the biggest stories of the URC off season. With just two seasons under his belt as a sprint car owner, Frank Davis won his first URC Owner Championship in 2004. A driver shuffle within the URC organization left this high powered ride open and without a driver. More then fifty phone calls were received by Davis who ran ads looking for a pilot for his sprinter. After several discussions with fellow car owner Pete Welsh, a deal fell into place with the popular Far Hills, NJ driver Kevin Welsh, landing the ride.

Welsh finished second in the final point chase and earned five URC feature wins. Over the course of the season, Welsh also won the Taylor & Messick Delaware State Sprint Series and the Valley Forge Inc PA point chase. With eight career wins under his belt, Kevin Welsh is looking for his first URC Championship.

In 2005, Kevin Welsh will be driving the Frank Davis/ team welsh jeep Chrysler owned #2w that will again carry franks familiar blue and white colors. The race team will e powered by 2 Dave Brown MOPAR power plants along with a Don Ott Competition Engine. J&J will be the choice frame for this team that will carry sponsorship from Weld Wheels, DMI, Frankland Rear Ends, Nields Steering, ZEMCO Headers, ZEMCO Speed Equipment, Penske Shocks, castrol motor oil and Wings by Wings Unlimited of Gettysburg, PA.

Needless-to-say, Frank Davis is excited and ready for the 2005 URC season to begin. "Kevin Welsh is an extremely determined young driver who has shown the true talent and desire for winning a URC Championship". Davis continued to say, "I'm very excited about combining teams for the 2005 racing season and everyone involved feels that this is certainly a championship formula in the making".

Turning the wrenches on the Frank Davis Racing/Team Welsh #2w will be Pete Welsh and Frank Davis along with Keith Wolf, Kevin's long time crew chief from the 18W Team Welsh sprinter.

This team has one goal for 2005 and that is to win the URC Advance Auto Parts Sprint Series sponsored by BAR's Leaks. Along with making every URC event, the Frank Davis Racing/Team Welsh #2w will make several special events where that are no conflicts with the United Racing Club schedule.

The URC season will open at the Delaware International Speedway on Saturday night, April 23rd. For more information on URC, please visit the web site at: www.urcsprints.com

BLACK ROCK SPEEDWAY TO SHOWCASE URC SPRINTS ON  SATURDAY, JULY 2ND

Black Rock Speedway in Dundee, NY has signed the United Racing Club sprint cars for Saturday night, July 2nd.    The Advance Auto Parts URC Sprints will be the headline division on this popular fourth of July weekend.   Black Rock, a weekly Friday night track, saw an opportunity for a URC event on a Holiday weekend and quickly jumped at the opportunity.   For URC, this is an all important event as well, providing their drivers with a stand alone show just two months prior to popular Bully Hill Nationals at Black Rock.  In 2004, URC driver Trevor Lewis stormed the rolling hills of Dundee, NY to top a field of over fifty-five sprints in winning the Bully Hill Nationals.  Track time is key in winning this prestigious 360 Sprint National event and the July race date is just what the teams of URC are looking for.

Thirty race dates are confirmed on the URC Tour  for 2005 with a tentative date still on hold at the Delaware International Raceway on Saturday, October 22.  URC is still in negotiations with other speedways  for two possible race dates.

The URC season will open at the Delaware International Speedway on Saturday night, April 23rd  followed by a stop at the New Egypt Speedway on April 30.   Special events on the URC schedule include the four days at Knoxville and the two race weekend at the I-96 Speedway in Michigan.   There is also the Bully Hill Nationals at Black Rock on September 10,  the Sprint Challenge Championship at Rolling Wheels on October 9 and the Grandview Speedway features only event on Saturday, October 15.

Members of URC are reminded that the 2004 Spring General Membership Meeting is set for Sunday, March 6 at the Holiday Inn Select-Bridgeport, NJ.  The meeting will begin at 1 PM.

URC sprint cars will also be on display at the 20th Anniversary of the Reading Racing Reunion & Car Show, February 27 thru March 5 at the Fairgrounds Square Mall in Reading, PA, the former site of the Reading Fairgrounds Speedway.
