$51,000 IN CASH DISTRIBUTED AT GALA URC BANQUET SATURDAY

DOVER, DE. . . . . .URC does a lot of things right and Saturday night at the Hotel Sheraton in Dover, DE, they demonstrated just how to throw a first class awards banquet. Other big news includes the popular continuation of sponsorship support from BAR's Leaks and Advance Auto Parts.

Curt Michael, the popular driver from Ocean View, DE captured the 2005 URC title on the strength of three feature wins and a season of consistent finishes that pushed the Michael/Palladino championship team to a one-hundred and sixty-two point advantage over runner-up Dave Ely. Curt is the defending champion and previously won the URC title in 1998. Along with the "cash" , the hardware was plentiful as well as Curt Michael, Kathy Palladino and Team 99 collected the Championship Trophy, Championship Rings, the Bill Bauer Perpetual Championship Cup and picture plaques and jackets provided by American Racer.

A big part of tonight's excitement also included awarding the $10,000 BAR's Leaks Team Sponsorship Award. There was a lot of excitement about this sponsorship program that saw as many as seventeen race teams prepare proposals for the program. Jimmy Martin of Felton, DE was awarded the 2006 sponsorship with the presentation being made by Bob Mermuys, President of BAR's Leaks from Holly, Michigan.

Of course, this event is free to the public and offers racing teams an opportunity to show off their new car designs and introduce their sponsors to the thousands of race fans that walk the Fairgrounds Square Mall during this event.

One of the biggest attractions of this show is the display by the Reading Historical Society, it's a "must see" outing of racing memorabilia. Be sure to stop by and join this outstanding organization as they work to keep alive, the history of the Reading Fairgrounds.

The Reading Racing Reunion & Car Show was created by racing publicist Bob Miller and begin in 1986. The goal of the show was to preserve the great memories of the old Reading Fairgrounds Speedway. "It was sad that after the closing of the Reading Fairgrounds, that no one made any effort to bring together all the folks who spent so many Friday nights at the Fairgrounds and now, this show does exactly that", commented event organizer Bob Miller. It was at the Reading Fairgrounds where Miller began his racing interests as a fan and later worked as an official and on the editorial staff of the race night Program Book. "I'm so glad that I had an opportunity to witness Reading in the heydays and sad to say that I saw its' sliding demise in the final years", added Miller.

Since 1986, many racing greats were honored at this show including the legendary Tommy Hinnershitz, Al Tasnady, Gerald Chamberlain, Bobby Gerhart, Larry Dickson, Gary Bettenhausen, Buzzie Reutimann, Jimmy Keppley, Lynn Paxton, the family of Dick Tobias, Warren Ruffner, the late Lindy Vicari and yes, even Mario Andretti made a visit to this event. This list of honored greats is endless.

Following the Legends of Racing Reunion on Friday night, March 3 is the BASH Racing Movie Party sponsored by NAPA/BERKS Auto Parts and will take place at the Temple Fire Company from 8:30 PM to 1 AM. Racing Movies, Music for Dancing and lots of fun is always in store for those who attend. Tickets are just $10 and are available by calling 215-860-5631.

SEIDEL LANDS GEI RIDE FOR 2006, CURT MICHAEL RANKED THIRD IN HALL OF FAME POLL

Brian Seidel of Allentown, PA will be the driver of the Bill Gallagher owned GEI Enterprises 5G when the URC Sprint Car season opens in April. Seidel, the 2000 URC Champion and winner of nineteen career victories plans to be a serious contender in the chase for the URC season long championship. Just one of many competitors that Seidel will have to battle if he plans on winning the title is Curt Michael of Ocean View, DE. Michael, was just recently voted the third ranked 360 Sprint Car Driver of the year by the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame. And to add to that, Curt also drives the Kathy Palladino BK Leasing #99, a nominee for the 360 Sprint Car Team of the Year.

Seidel is a long time favorite in the URC wars and he'll carry the following list of sponsors to include Valley Forge INC, Montgomery Brothers Auto Body, K+N Engineering, Sanders Engineering, B+B Oval Track Products, Outlaw Brakes and Pro-Shocks. All under the leadership of Car Owner Bill Gallagher and Team Manager Todd Rittenhouse, the powerful 5G is serious about being a title contender.

Brian Seidel and Curt Michael will still have to deal with the talents of Dave Ely, Kevin Welsh, Bill Brian Jr, Ed Aikin, Scott Pursell and Kramer Williamson just to name a few

With this level of competition, URC will continue their growth beyond being the oldest traveling sprint car organization in the country to being the best traveling sprint car show.  New and exciting plans will be announced in the first quarter of the new year, with URC drivers and owners getting a peak of what's in store at the Annual URC Awards Banquet on Saturday night, December 17 at the Hotel Sheraton in Dover, DE.

MIKE HAGGENBOTTOM RETURNS TO URC. . .
KATHY PALLADINO TEAM 99 NOMINATED FOR 360 SPRINT TEAM OF THE YEAR AWARD

Popular Levittown, PA sprint car driver Mike Haggenbottom will be returning to the weekly battles on the URC Advance Auto Parts Sprint Series tour in 2006.  Haggenbottom, the 2001 URC Driver Champion will complete on the entire URC schedule,  joining forces with long time car owner Lou Eckrich of Wilmington, DE.  Some other big news includes a recent announcement that the Kathy Palladino #99 Team is one of three teams nominated for the 2005 360 Sprint Car Team of the Year Award.  Each year, this award is presented on behalf of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame in Knoxville, Iowa.

Along with being a former champion, Haggenbottom owns eight career wins under the URC banner.  In the coming season, the Haggenbottom/Eckrich Team will compete in a Maxim Chassis on VRP shocks with a CP Racing Engine as the power plant.  Other sponsors that will be displayed on the familiar #54 include WDB Landscaping, Richboro Lawn and Garden, Johnson Chiropractic, Atlantic Speed Center and FatSams.net.

Before the drop of the checker flag, the Kathy Palladino #99 Team is chasing down one more victory.  Each year, the popular National Sprint Car Hall of Fame recognizes outstanding performers in various categories of our sport.  Kathy along with her husband Pat, driver Curt Michael and the entire 99 Team are awaiting the announcement of who will be, the 360 Sprint Car Team of the Year.

The Palladino 99 Team rallied to three URC victories this season and won the title with class and style.  The track and pit performance of this team is unmatched by anyone.  The car and team always appears neat and clean and the performance of the track will range from a threat to win any feature to consistency at the completion of every feature event.    Final ballots by a panel from the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame will determine the 360 Sprint Car Team of the year, expected to be announced by the end of the week.  The Palladino Team 99 is certainly a front runner for this award.

The URC Awards Banquet is set for Saturday night, December 17 at the Hotel Sheraton- -Dover, DE.  A point fund to exceed $40,000 will be distributed with Champion Driver Curt Michael and Champion Owner Kathy Palladino collecting the top honors.

MEMBERSHIP VOTES OVERWHELMINGLY. . .URC WILL TRANSITION FROM A CLUB TO A CORPORATION
In the fifty-eight year history of the United Racing Club, the vote taken on Sunday afternoon, November 6 could very well be the most important vote ever cast by the membership of our Nation's oldest traveling sprint car series. Since the beginning, which dates back to 1948, the initials of URC represented the United Racing Club, an organization founded by Harry Johnson to represent the weekly Saturday night sprint car racer. Effective Monday, November 7, URC will now stand for the United Racing Company, a limited liability company based in Delaware. URC, as it will continue to be known, will be operated by Managing Members John and Cheryl Zimmerman and Bob and Donna Miller.

The most comforting statement of the day came from URC President John Zimmerman, confirming that the long and successful history of URC will not only be remembered, but it will grow for years to come.

For several years, there has been interest within URC of going in this direction and there were many reasons sited. First, the competitive nature of this business requires the ability to have flexibility in the rapid changing environment of decision-making, something that is often slowed down in a club environment. Another motivation for this change is opening new doors with potential sponsors who would much rather negotiate with a registered corporation then a club.

Perception is another compelling reason for this change. While URC has enjoyed a long existence, being a club has branded the name of URC as something other then a full fledge-serious entity in the world of sprint car racing. With a point fund in excess of $40,000, the best negotiated tire deal for sprint cars in the country and a minimum earnings of $200 just to start a feature event, clearly puts URC in the game and they could very well be the leader of 360 sprint car racing today. Transponders for scoring and in car radios are mandatory, showing URC's commitment to providing the promoters and spectators an efficiently run show.

Looking ahead to 2006, there is a fairly well defined road map of where URC is heading. "From the view point of the fans, promoters, drivers and owners, expect to see the same well run (no delay) racing program", commented Bob Miller. "What we have going with URC is the continuation of "work in progress" so there is no need for us to re-create the wheel". Miller added, "We're where we are today because of the efforts of John, Cher and I. . . . It's just time to take URC to the next level of professionalism with a touch of corporate image.

Surprising, the membership vote for this change was overwhelming 21 to 1. The current Board of Directors is made-up of car owners who really have enough to do, fielding a competitive car for the grinding URC Advance Auto Parts Sprint Series. When it comes to mid-week preparation, their car needs the attention, not operating the day-to-day tasks of URC, and the same can be said for their sponsorship efforts. Race teams today have to work hard to secure their own sponsors and they can't be expected to go out and land sponsors for URC. That work must lie in the hands of URC's Managing Members. The same can be said for dealing with track promoters, publicity and promotions, cars shows and the media.

It was communicated that drastic changes will not occur. For example, the American Racer tire agreement will continue, URC's point fund for next year is expected to exceed the 2005 payout and the schedule is already well into the planning stages with a similar series as we saw this year.

URC is in good hands. John and Cher Zimmerman has been committed to the success of URC for many years, with John working in the capacity of URC President as Cher handled the secretary-treasurer position. On race night, both John and Cher are actively working to deliver the highest quality show for the fans and Promoters and they listen closely to the comments always offered by the competitors each night at the completion of the race.

Also in the partnership as URC Managing Members are Bob and Donna Miller. Bob has been working with URC since 1986 when he joined URC in the position of Publicity. Bob secured URC's first ever series title sponsorship, that being Kendall Motor Oil. Outside of URC, the Miller's also co-promote the successful Thunder on the Hill Racing Series and are involved in several other short track racing activities.

The working relationship between the Zimmerman's and the Miller's is not only unique, but also successful, as the two teams seem to compliment the total effort. An effort that has seen great benefits for URC. Both Zimmerman and Miller are not sprint car drivers or sprint car owners, and that in itself is unique with URC. Throughout the long and rich history of URC, the President and senior ranking officers have been competing car owners and drivers, which on occasions has created conflict within the ranks.

"I feel we can be more objective in the business decisions of URC as well as the race night managing of officials and race calls". Zimmerman continued to say, "Our competitors are important to us, but so are the track operators who are faced with new challenges each year, we need to work in the best interest of both parties". John added, "That's where Bob helps out so much since he can see what we're doing through the eyes of a Promoter.

There is no need to be sad, this is not the end of URC as we know it, but the rejuvenation of a traveling sprint car series that is fifty-eight years rich in history. From the days of leather helmets, no roll cages and drivers racing in t-shirts, to the prestigious URC Banquet that will distribute a whopping $40,000 point fund in short track racing's most dignified awards dinner; it's time to celebrate the continuation of growth within URC.

The URC Awards Banquet is set for Saturday night, December 17 at the Hotel Sheraton in Dover, DE. Along with the distribution of the point fund monies and special awards, expect major announcements of renewed sponsorships, new and exciting sponsorship offers, special events and new purse incentives. Catch sprint car racing's New Deal, URC in 2006.

For additional information, visit the URC web site at: www.urcsprints.com
Questions of Interest:
Q. How will URC operate through this transition period?
A. There will be no noticeable change. Business will go on as usual with the Banquet, planning for
Motorsports, Scheduling of events and participation at EMPA.
Q. What happens to URC, a non-profit organization?
A. The United Racing Club will cease operations on December 31, 2005. The United Racing Company LLC
will begin operation on or before November 7, 2005.
Q. What will happen to the money in the United Racing Club account?
A. All monies generated and going into the United Racing Club will be 100% paid out at the 2005 Banquet.
The United Racing Club Board of Directors will oversee the finances and payment of the point fund.
Q. Will the URC engine rules change in 2006 and how will car specifications be decided?
A. No engine rule changes are planned for 2006. URC's Managing Members will create a Tech Committee to
assist in the decision making of on-going car specifications and changes.
Q. Is there a bigger plan in mind for you to sell URC?
A. The competitive nature of URC's Managing Members will not allow them selling URC. In fact, operating
under the current "club" environment, could make URC more vulnerable for a take over by someone or a
group that would not have the best interests of URC in mind.
Q. Will there still me a URC membership?
A. Yes, and the price will remain the same. The membership fees over the years have been used to offset
administrative costs such as phone calls, stationary, mailings, web site operations, etc.
Q. Will sanction fees be increased to the track Promoters?
A. No sanction fees will go unchanged for the fifth year in a row.
Q. What is the protest policy for URC competitors?
A. The protest policy will remain the same as prior years.
Q. Will the nightly payoff to the drivers decrease in any positions?
A. No, the purse will not decrease, and be aware that additional bonus money may be added.
END

BILL BRIAN JR DELIVERS BIG URC WIN SATURDAY NIGHT IN THUNDER FINALE AT GRANDVIEW

Bill Brian Jr. of Ephrata, PA likes the Grandview Speedway. In fact, he was a former Thunder on the Hill Sprint Series Champion. Saturday night, in URC's season finale, Bill Brian Jr, driving the Elmer and Rose Stoltzfus sprint car, scored his first URC win of the season and his eleventh career victory under the URC banner. URC was part of the Grandview THUNDER features only program at Grandview Speedway.

In the twenty-five lap URC Advance Auto Parts Sprint Series feature, rookie driver Mark Bitner set the early pace followed by Bill Brian Jr and Dave McGough. At the halfway point of the race, Bitner had a big lead and the battle was taking place for the top five spots between Brian, McGough, Kramer Williamson and Dave Ely.

At this point, the race was still non-stop and Bitner was now approaching lapped traffic. Dave Ely passed Williamson and moved into fourth and one lap later, he was racing in third. At the front of the pack, Brian was chasing down Bitner as third place runner Dave Ely was closing the gap between himself and Brian.

The top five was definitely coming together for an all out battle to the checker, then the first yellow flag was displayed on lap nineteen when Ed Aikin hit the third turn wall.

On the restart, Bill Brian Jr. made a powerful move to pass Bitner for the lead. Ely now caught Bitner and the two drivers swapped the runner-up spot at least three times, before Ely took second for good on lap twenty-three.

With just two laps remaining, Ely now went to work on Brian for the lead. After two challenges for the lead, the yellow flag was displayed on lap twenty-four when Will Urkuski stopped in turn three.

It was now a one lap shootout to the checker flag. On the restart, Bill Brian Jr covered the low groove as Dave Ely looked for an outside line. Entering turn three, Brian and Ely were within a car length. As the leaders exited turn four and with the checker flag waiving, Bill Brian Jr had a strong run off of turn four to earn the win. Ely finished second with Dave McGough third, Mark Bitner fourth and Kramer Williamson fifth.

Also on the program was the Valley Forge Inc/Fred's Trailer Center URC Non-Winners Race. Each year, this event is presented to offer all URC non-winners an opportunity to visit victory lane. Brooke Bowman of Chestertown, MD led the entire twelve lap distance to score his first ever URC victory, beating out Mark Bitner, Josh Weller, Johnny Zimmerman, Will Urkuski and Jamie Bodo.

This concludes the URC 2005 racing season. The next event is the annual URC Awards Banquet to take place on Saturday, December 17 at the Sheraton-Dover, DE.

FEATURE FINISH: Bill Brian Jr., Dave Ely, Dave McGough, Mark Bitner, Kramer Williamson, Curt Michael, Trevor Lewis, Jason Clauss, Chris Coyle, Josh Weller, Tim Hogue, Gary Gollub, Scott Pursell, Pete Green, Dave Betts, Johnny Zimmerman, Will Urkuski, Ed Aikin, Kyle Purks, Brooke Bowman, DNS--Kevin Welsh.

KYLE PURKS PULLS OFF UPSET FOR FIRST EVER URC CAREER WIN SATURDAY

DELMAR, DE . . . . Nineteen year old Kyle Purks of Langhorne, PA pulled off a dramatic last lap move to score his first ever URC sprint car victory on Saturday night at the Delaware International Speedway. Purks started tenth in the twenty-four car field and at one point of the race dropped back to thirteenth. As the race went on, Purks charged to the front, racing in fourth on lap twenty. In the final two laps, Purks put the pressure on race leader Dave Ely. With the white flag waiving, Purks took the low groove and the lead going into turn one. Purks drifted to the high side of the speedway as Ely made a run to regain the top spot. Purks was up to the challenge and held the top spot going into turn three. The win for Purks was a crowd pleaser on Taylor & Messick Lawn and Farm Equipment Night at the Delaware International Speedway.

In another story, Curt Michael of Ocean View, DE clinched the 2005 Advance Auto Parts URC Sprint Series championship. Driving the Palladino owned BK Leasing sprint car, Michael finished a solid seventh in the feature event, to secure his third ever URC Championship. Michael previous won the URC championship in 1998 and in 2004. Title contender Trevor Lewis of Upper Black Eddy, PA was involved in an early race mishap that forced him to retired to the pits.

Three heat race qualifying events were presented with victories going to Kyle Purks, Tim Hogue and Midge Miller as Trevor Lewis won the "B" Main event. Jason Clauss a two time feature winner this season and ranked in the top five points, was unable to start the feature event after qualifying due to mechanical problems.

In the twenty-five lap Advance Auto Parts URC feature, Tim Hogue of Medford, NJ was the early race leader, holding off several threatening challenges from runner-up Midge Miller. Dave Ely and Kramer Williamson were on a charge racing in third and fourth as Mark Bitner made-up the top five. A yellow flag on lap nine brought the field together once again, offering Miller another run at challenging Hogue for the lead. Hogue remained the race leader although Miller offered several bids for the top spot.

At the halfway point of the race, Hogue was on top followed by Midge Miller, Dave Ely, Kramer Williamson and a hard charging Bill Brian Jr. On lap sixteen, Ely made the move and passed Miller for second. Ely then went to work on reeling in the race leader.

With just five laps remaining, everyone was passing. Dave Ely took the lead from Hogue as Bill Brian Jr dashed into third with Kyle Purks fourth and Kramer Williamson fifth.

The yellow flag was displayed on lap twenty-two when Junior Martin and Mares Stellfox made contact going down the backstretch. Martin tapped the wall then took a violent flip entering turn three. Martin walked away uninjured.

The restart saw Ely, Purks and Bill Brian Jr set-up for a three lap dash to the checker. Ely had a quick start but just one circuit later, Purks staged a major challenge for the top spot. One lap later and with the white flag waiving, Purks put his foot to the floor and took the lead going into turn one. Once on top, Purks refused to offer Ely a chance to reclaim the lead. Purks took the victory and collected the $1,600 first place prize. Dave Ely finished second followed by Bill Brian Jr., Kramer Williamson and pole sitter Tim Hogue.

Although the night ended on a good note for Kyle Purks, there were a few moments of tension. Just prior to the start of the feature event, the pit crew discovered a fuel leak and the decision was made not to start the feature event. Fellow competitor, Eldreth Construction Racing loaned the Purks team their fuel cell. The change was made just in time for Purks to start the feature. "I was concerned the final laps since the fuel cell we were using was smaller then what was on my car". Kyle Purks continued say, "After the checker flag, the car rolled to a stop, dry and out of fuel".

FEATURE FINISH: Kyle Purks, Dave Ely, Bill Brian Jr., Kramer Williamson, Tim Hogue, Chris Coyle, Curt Michael, Midge Miller, Mark Bitner, Dave McGough, Scott Pursell, Jon Eldreth, Ed Aikin, Gary Gollub, Kevin Welsh, Ashley Parlett, Mares Stellfox, Jimmy Martin, Brian Seidel, Pete Green, Josh Weller, Mike Kostic, Johnny Zimmerman, Trevor Lewis. Fred's Trailer Parts New Series Invades Black Rock........
TREVOR LEWIS DEFENDS BULLY HILL TITLE, POCKETS $4,000 FOR THE VICTORY SATURDAY NIGHT

DUNDEE, NY . . . . . For the second consecutive year, Trevor Lewis of Upper Black Eddy, PA was the star of the show in the 7th Annual Bully Hill Vineyards Sprint Car Nationals at the Black Rock Speedway in Dundee, NY. Lewis, a regular with the United Racing Club, drove his Bill Turpin/Fred Kennedy owned sprint car to a convincing victory, taking the lead on lap fourteen and running uncontested to the $4,000 victory in the 35 lap main event. This event earned points for the URC competitors for the season long point chase as well as the Fred's Trailers Parts New Series. Lewis along with the Turpin/Kennedy Race Team have established themselves as the "top dog" in last years high dollar events and Saturday was no different.

A field of sixty-five sprint cars took part in the Bully Hill Nationals with URC Rookie Driver Brooke Bowman of Chestertown, MD setting fast time. Five heat race events were presented with victories going to Rich Swarthout, Bill Brian Jr., Chuck Hebing, George Suprick and Ray Preston. The "C" Main saw Tim Kelly take the win as Bryan Howland won the "B" Main. A 12 lap Non-Qualifiers event was on the program as well with Bubby Kerrick taking the win. In the six car ALL STAR Dash, Rick Wilson was the winner and collected $500 for the victory.

Twenty-five sprint cars made-up the starting field in the Bully Hill Nationals with Dave McGough taking the early lead over Trevor Lewis. Brooke Bowman who set fast time of the night and started fourth in the main event, spun in turn one on the second circuit, displaying the yellow flag. On lap three, Ed Aikin spun in turn four and the caution was waiving once again. When green flag racing resumed, McGough remained the leader with Trevor Lewis second and Curt Michael third. Also on the move was Kevin Welsh who was now racing in fourth.

At the front of the pack, McGough continued to set the pace with Lewis now about to challenge for the lead. By lap twelve, Lewis was looking for some racing room and darted to the outside groove to make the pass for the lead. Kevin Welsh also found a burst of energy, passing Curt Michael on lap fourteen for the third position. By lap eighteen, Welsh was in second with Lewis still setting a blistering pace. At the halfway point, Lewis remained the pace setter over Kevin Welsh, Dave McGough, Curt Michael and Dan Kaszubinski.

The race ran caution free to the checker flag with the top five runners unchanged, that is until the late stages of the race when Dan Kaszubinski was on a charge. Kaszubinski was fifth on lap thirty and advanced to third with just two laps remaining. On the run to checker flag, Kaszubinski challenged Welsh and took the runner-up position by inches at the wire. Welsh finished third followed by Dave McGough and URC point leader Curt Michael was fifth.

At the checker flag, Trevor Lewis was all alone to score his third win of the season and eleventh career win under the URC banner. Lewis, thrilled with his victory waived the checkered flag to the crowd while standing on his top win.

Valley Forge INC Pennsylvania Sprint Series Invades Williams Grove. . . .
CURT MICHAEL TOPS TREVOR LEWIS IN LATE RACE BATTLE FOR TWENTY-SIXTH CAREER WIN

MECHANICSBURG, PA    .  .   .   .   .  Curt Michael of Ocean View, DE showed everyone what a champion is made of by winning the twenty-five lap URC Advance Auto Parts URC Sprint Series feature event Friday night at the Williams Grove Speedway.  Michael, threaded his way through traffic, then focused on chasing down the sprint car of Trevor Lewis to take the lead on lap eighteen.  Even with a late race caution on lap twenty-four, Michael, driving the BK Leasing Palladino owned sprint car,  held off the challenges of Lewis to score his third URC win of the season and twenty-sixth career win under the URC banner.

A field of thirty-one URC sprint  cars took part in the Valley Forge INC Pennsylvania Sprint Series event at Williams Grove with heat race victories going to Joe Zuczek, Jon Eldreth and Pete Green as Jason Clauss won the "B" main event.

The twenty-five lap URC sprint feature got off to a rough start with several caution flags delaying the completion of lap one.    Once the race officially got underway, Jon Eldreth set the pace for the first lap with Trevor Lewis taking the top spot on lap two.  On the move was Brian Seidel who moved into second by lap five followed by Eldreth, Ed Aikin and Midge Miller.

On lap eight, the caution was displayed, this time for Joe Zuczek who spun in turn two.  One lap later, Brooke Bowman spun in turn one bringing out the caution once again.

At the front of the pack, Trevor Lewis continued to set the pace in the Turpin/Kennedy owned sprint car with Seidel in the runner-up spot.   Eldreth followed in third with defending point champion and current point leader Curt Michael now racing in fourth and "B" Main winner Jason Clauss in fifth.

The top five remained unchanged as the field passed the starters stand at the halfway mark.  On lap fifteen, the caution was again displayed, this time for Mares Stellfox and Dave McGough who tangled in turn four.  At the same time, Chris Coyle driving the  Lou Eckrich owned sprinter made hard contact with the non-forgiving Williams Grove guardrail and wildly flipped outside the raceway.  Coyle was not injured in this spectacular crash.

On the restart, Lewis remained in control with Seidel and Michael now in a better position to challenge for the lead.  The battle for the lead was once again delayed as Junior Martin came to a stop on the speedway on lap seventeen.

This time the restart saw Curt Michael make the winning move that advanced him into the top spot with Lewis now thrashing to find the quick lane to retake the lead.  With five laps remaining, Michael and Lewis remained in a battle for the lead.   The final caution of the race came out on lap twenty-four for Brooke Bowman who spun on the speedway.

Setting up for the one lap dash to the cash, Curt Michael had a quick start and easily beat Lewis into turn one, avoiding any challenge for the lead.   For the balance of the final lap, Michael ran uncontested to the checker flag, using this win to pad in current point lead in the season long title chase.  Lewis finished second followed by Jason Clauss, Brian Seidel and  Ed Aikin.

Kramer Williamson deserves special recognition for his efforts Friday night.  A blown motor during the heat race event appeared to sideline this former champion for the night.  A quick run back to the Palmyra, PA shop and the team returned to the speedway with a back-up motor.   Following the motor change out and without warm-ups, Williamson started the feature as a provisional in the twenty-fifth spot.  At the completion of the twenty-five laps, Williamson earned a solid seventh place finish.

FEATURE FINISH:  Curt Michael, Trevor Lewis, Jason Clauss, Brian Seidel, Ed Aikin, Jon Eldreth, Kramer Williamson, Justin Collett, Mark Bitner, Dave Ely, Kevin Welsh, Kyle Purks, Midge Miller, Josh Weller, Scott Pursell, Mares Stellfox, Brooke Bowman, Junior Martin,  Chris Coyle, Dave McGough, Pete Green, Joe Zuczek,  Bill Brian Jr., Dave Betts, Will Urkuski.  DNQ- -Tim Hogue, Johnny Zimmerman, Gary Gollub, Jamie Bodo, Scott McClaren, Adam Gorden.

Fred's Trailer Parts NEW Series Continues. . . . . .
BRIAN SEIDEL CHARGES FROM 12TH TO WIN URC FEATURE SATURDAY NIGHT AT NEW EGYPT

NEW EGYPT, NJ   .   .    .   .   .  Brian Seidel of Allentown, PA was the star of the show Saturday night at the New Egypt Speedway as the Advance Auto Parts URC Sprint Series presented their nineteenth event of the season.  Seidel, who started twelfth in the Fred's Trailer  Parts NEW Series  feature event sliced and diced his way through traffic and caught race leader Mares Stellfox on lap twenty-three to take the lead.  Stellfox battled back in the final two laps but with each challenge, Seidel mastered the high groove and went on to score his second win of the season and nineteenth career victory under the URC banner.

A field of twenty-nine URC sprint cars took part in the program with heat race victories going to Mares Stellfox, Pete Green and Dave Betts as Brooke Bowman rallied home the winner of the twelve lap "B" Main.

In the twenty-five lap URC feature event, Mares Stellfox of Prospect Park, PA was the early race leader, beating out Pete Green on the run to turn one at the drop of the green.    Stellfox, who was URC's first female feature winner,  quickly ran to hide from the rest of the field.  Pete Green, Kyle Purks and Bill Brian Jr followed in the chase.

The first caution of the race was on lap eight when Kyle Purks spun in turn four while running in a solid top five position.   On the restart, Stellfox was the quickest once again but the field came to a caution on lap ten, this time for a Brooke Bowman spin.  The field ran one more green flag lap before another caution was thrown on lap twelve when Chris Coyle made hard contact with the first turn one.

With the green flag waiving, Stellfox was again the pace setter followed b  Jason Clauss, Brian Seidel, Bill Brian Jr. and Pete Green.  Now on a charge was Ed Aikin who advanced into the top five.

At the front of the pack, Seidel passed Clauss for the runner-up spot and set his sights on the Mares Stellfox.  A tangle on lap eighteen left Gary Gollub facing traffic on the homestretch and the yellow flag slowed the field one more time.  On the restart, Clauss passed Seidel for second and once again, Stellfox ran to hide from the rest of the field.

With just five laps remaining, Stellfox set the pace followed by Clauss, Seidel, Bill Brian Jr. and Ed Aikin.  Just one lap later, Seidel made the pass to move into second and now had to chase down Stellfox.   With just two laps remaining, Seidel passed Stellfox for the lead, but Stellfox fought back, looking to regain the top spot.  Racing sixth through tenth in the final two laps was Dave Ely, Curt Michael, Trevor Lewis, Kevin Welsh and Tim Hogue.  These drivers were not only racing for position, but the valuable points that go towards winning the URC Advance Auto Parts Championship Title.

In the closing laps, Stellfox made three attempts to regain the top spot but with the checker flag waiving,  Brian Seidel driving the Mike Bostic sprint car took the victory.  To the delight of the race fans, Stellfox delivered an outstanding second place finish  with Jason Clauss third, Bill Brian Jr. fourth and Ed Aikin fifth.

The hard charger of the night award went to Brian Seidel as Trevor Lewis earned the LikeWise Construction fast time of the night award.

FEATURE FINISH:   Brian Seidel, Mares Stellfox, Jason Clauss, Bill Brian Jr., Ed Aikin, Dave Ely, Curtis Michael, Trevor Lewis,  Kevin Welsh, Tim Hogue, Mark Bitner, Dave McGough, Pete Green, Kramer Williamson,  Junior Martin, Brooke Bowman,  Scott Pursell, Josh Weller, Dave Betts, Joe Zuczek, Gary Gollub, Kyle Purks, Will Urkuski, Chris Coyle.   DNQ- - Midge Miller, Jamie Bodo, Adam Gorden, Johnny Zimmerman, Jon Eldreth.

TREVOR LEWIS TOPS ACTION PACKED URC SHOW SATURDAY NIGHT AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY

BRIDGEPORT, NJ . . . . . The Advance Auto Parts URC Sprint Series made their one and only stop this year at the Bridgeport Speedway on Saturday night and a big crowd was rewarded with a typical URC sprint car thriller. Thirty sprint cars took part in the fourteenth event of 2005 for URC and the fifth race of the season for the Fred's Trailer Parts URC "New" Series. Trevor Lewis of Upper Black Eddy, PA ran in the top five from the drop of the green, but put the pressure on in the closing laps, taking the lead on lap nineteen. Lewis wrestled the top spot from Chris Coyle then went on score his second win of the season and tenth career victory under the URC banner.

Three heat race events determined the starting field for the feature event with victories going to Dave Ely, Jason Clauss and Chris Coyle. The 12 lap "B" Main saw Tim Hogue take the win over Daryl Smith.

At the start of the twenty-five lap URC feature, a four car mix-up in turn two brought out the red flag. Jon Eldreth, Joe Zuczek, Ed Aikin and Bill Brian Jr. tangled with Zuczek taking a slow roll. Zuczek was not injured in the accident. On the restart, Jason Clauss took immediate command of the lead spot as Chris Coyle and Trevor Lewis followed. On the move was Dave Ely and Curt Michael who were racing in the top five by lap five.

The caution was displayed on lap eight when Kyle Purks spun in turn two. Purks was racing in sixth at the time of the spin. Clauss once again was in control when green flag resumed. At the halfway mark, Clauss, Coyle, Lewis, Curt Michael and Dave Ely made-up the top five with Mark Bitner now racing in sixth after starting fifteenth.

The leader, Jason Clauss began to slow his pace and both Coyle and Lewis quickly reeled in the leader. On lap eighteen, Chris Coyle took the lead driving the Lou Eckrich owned sprint car. Coyle held the top spot for just one lap as Trevor Lewis wheeled the Kennedy/Turpin #56 to the head of the pack on lap nineteen.

Dave Ely was on a charge and moved into third with five laps remaining. Mark Bitner was on a charge of his own, now running fourth on lap twenty-one. With just two laps remaining, Ely caught Coyle and made the pass for second. Point leader Curt Michael caught a fading Jason Clauss and moved into the top five on the white flag lap.

Ely was fast but ran short of time to challenge Lewis for the win. With the checker flag waiving, Trevor Lewis took the win over Dave Ely, Chris Coyle, Mark Bitner and Curt Michael.

Josh Weller drove the Mike Bostic owned #6 as weekly driver Brian Seidel was on vacation. Mechanical problems sidelined the Bostic sprinter during the running of the consolation. Mark Bitner of Trenton, NJ was the Hard Charger of the Night, starting fifteenth in the feature event and finishing a strong fourth. The LikeWise Fast Lap of the Night went to Jason Clauss of Boyertown, PA. During the running of the feature event, Clauss turned the Bridgeport Speedway in a time of 19.539, which averaged in excess of 115 mph. Rookie Driver Brooke Bowman turned in another impressive run finishing seventh. Curt Michael of Ocean View, DE and driver of the Palladino #99, continues to lead the URC points. Michael delivered a strong fifth place finish in the feature event. Jason Clauss finished sixth in the feature event after leading the first seventeen laps. It was reported that a bleeder valve was leaking in the final laps.

URC to invade Bridgeport Speedway Saturday night, July 30. . . .
CURT MICHAEL LEADS ALL IN HIGHLY CONTESTED URC POINT CHASE

Thirteen races into the 2005 Advance Auto Parts URC Sprint Series and defending champion Curt Michael of Ocean View, DE leads all URC competitors in his attempt for a third title.   Michael owns two URC wins this season and has a URC career total of twenty-five victories.   With the change in the URC handicapping system in 2005, the point chase is tighter then ever, but Michael and his Palladino owned URC race team, it's business as usual.    The point spread between the point leader and the fifth ranked driver in points is just one-hundred and thirty-nine points.  It's just that close with nine point race events still remaining on the schedule.

Nine drivers have shared the thirteen victories with Curt Michael, Kevin Welsh, Jason Clauss and Kramer Williamson each scoring two feature wins so far this season.  Drivers with single victories include Trevor Lewis, Dave McGough, Ed Aikin, Brian Seidel and most recently, Dave Ely who won the feature event on Saturday night at Selinsgrove Speedway.

The URC Advance Auto Parts Sprint Series will invade the five-eighth mile  Bridgeport Speedway this Saturday night, July 30.  Race time is 6:30 PM.  Bridgeport Speedway is always a favorite stop for URC as this track delivers some of the highest speeds of any track that URC visits.   For more information and directions to Bridgeport Speedway (Bridgeport, NJ) please visit their website: www.bridgeportspeedway.net

Rookie drivers Brooke Bowman of Chestertown, MD and Mark Bitner of Trenton, NJ both enjoyed great rides this past Saturday night at Selinsgrove Speedway.  Bowman finished second after leading twenty-two of the twenty-five lap feature.  Mark Bitner also  delivered a strong performance  with a  fourth place finish in the main event.  Bowman and Bitner are two of eight registered rookie drivers with URC in 2005.

VALLEY FORGE PA SPRINT SERIES EVENT FALLS TO URC'S DAVE ELY AT SELINSGROVE

SELINSGROVE, PA       .  .   .    .     .Dave Ely of West Lawn, PA played the waiting game and it all payed off as he won the twenty-five lap URC sprint car feature event Saturday night at the Selinsgrove Speedway.  Ely started on the pole, but the surprise of the night was rookie driver Brooke Bowman of Chestertown, MD who out-gunned Ely to take the lead at the start of the main event.  Even with three caution flags, Bowman could not be challenged.  That is until lap twenty-two when Ely reeled in the leader to take the top spot just four laps from the checker flag.

Bowman, who was looking for his first career win was equally happy with his runner-up spot.  "I really like running on these big and fast race tracks", commented Bowman as his car was going through post race teching.

The annual Advance Auto Parts URC sprint series visit to the Selinsgrove Speedway attracted twenty-seven sprint cars with heat race victories going to Dave Ely, Brooke Bowman and rookie sprint driver Mark Bitner.  Jason Clauss won the URC "B" that was cut short after Tim Hogue flipped in turn one during a heated battle for lead.

The field was called to the post for the feature event and at the drop of the green flag, Brooke Bowman immediately set a blistering pace followed by Dave Ely and Mark Bitner.   On lap five, the first yellow flag was displayed for Scott Pursell who stopped on the speedway.

On the restart, Bowman was again the class of the field as Ed Aikin was now making a run to the front of the pack, racing in fourth.  As the field crossed the line on lap eleven, the second yellow of the event was displayed, this time for Dave Betts who stopped on the backstretch.

With the green flag waiving to restart the feature,  Bowman remained the pace setter at the halfway point of the race followed by Ely, Bitner
